Alice watched as he finally started to calm down as the opening credits rolled. a smile crossed her face as she leaned on the arm rest. Alice kept her eyes mostly on Lean instead of the screen, she wanted to make sure he was okay. After a while she looked back at the screen just as it cave a panoramic view of a beautiful mountain range.

Léan cocked his head to the side, seeming amazed by the imagery on the screen. He appeared to be calm for now...perhaps only during action-filled and loud scenes would he be startled again...she would just need to glance at him every so often to make sure he hadn't fainted or anything.

Alice kept glancing over to make sure everything was good. When she saw him jump once, she gently put her hand on his arm and whispered. "You okay?" She asked wit ha small smile. She just wanted to make sure the film wasn't scaring him or over whelming him too much.

Léan nodded, immediately calming down. The loud noise had startled him, along with a bright flash on the screen. He wasn't used to seeing such things.

ALice nodded and hoped he was telling the truth. "Just let me know if you want to leave." Again she reluctantly pulled her hand away. She was having fun on this little date. She was still hoping he was too. Part of her wanted to hold his hand, but she knew she shouldn't do that. They still weren't at a comfort level where she felt okay doing that. A small sigh escaped her as she leaned on the armrest next to him and looked up at the screen.

Léan seemed to be enjoying himself, though some parts of the movie scared him due to their flashing lights and loud noises. The ears of a merperson were much more advanced than those of a human, so the loud noises hurt his head at some points. He watched the movie with interest as it played through, and started to come to an end.

As the lights came up and the end credits rolled Alice looked over at Lean with a smile. "So, what do you think of the movies?" She asked with a grin, hoping it would have been a positive experience for him. It was getting late, this was probably going to be the last thing they did, tonight anyway.

Léan shrugged, nonchalantly. "I...didn't understand half of it," he informed her, looking amused. "So, I don't know what to say...interesting, I suppose." He didn't understand human culture, so most of the movie was just alien to him.

"Fair enough." Alice said with a shrug. "Well, it's starting to get late so i should probably get you back home." She didn't really want to end the night now, but maybe some swimming was called for.Alice just didn't want Lean to dry out. She got up and behind Lean and began the task of pushing him back to her house.

Léan, of course, was fascinated the whole way back. Sightseeing, for now, seemed to be a favorite thing of his to do on land. Mostly because he simply wasn't used to how the human world worked...

When they finally got back to the house, Alice was relieved to see that no one was home. She parked the wheelchair on the small path and smiled at Lean. "Well, i hope you had fun today. I know i did" She gave him a smile before she started to gently unwrap his tail.

Léan smiled at her, as well. It faded quickly, as his happiness usually did. "I did," he assured her, quietly. He seemed to be tuckered out from the long day they had had...well...he had had, anyway.

Once his tail was free, Alice stripped off her dress and kicked off her shoes. Then she turned around in front of him. "Okay, hop on and i'll take you back down to the water." She gave him another small smile as she waited.

Léan's tail swished around once it was finally free, and he gingerly crawled up onto her back. He clung tightly to her, fearing he would fall. He didn't like being suspended in air. It reminded him of being caught in a net...

Alice held tight to him, feeling the fear and tension emanating from him. She made her way down the sand and out into the water. She gently lowered him in once the water was up to her waist. "There, you okay?" She asked just making sure, she hadn't hurt him in that whole process.

Léan slid into the water with ease, swimming around in a few quick circles and flicking his tail. It had been dangerously close to starting to dry out, and the water washing over it felt quite nice. "Yes, I am..."

"That's good." Alice smiled before she sank to her knees and dunked herself under water, letting the cool liquid flow over her face. When she surfaced she smiled. "Water feels great." She commented to no one in particular.

Léan was puzzled by her comment, and shrugged off-handedly. Unless it was heavily polluted, the water always felt great to him. Merpeople grew very sick and died in polluted waters. Recently, there had been a massive influx of merpeople coming over from the southeast to the Pacific Ocean...refugees from the Gulf of Mexico...

Alice looked at him as she moved to floating on her back like he had taught her. "So what would you like to do tomorrow? I mean, if you wan't i can introduce you to other people, we dont have to tell them who you really are or anything... it's just a thought in case you wanted to talk to someone besides me." She liked having Lean to herself but that wasn't fair if he wanted to meet other people. "Of we could just hang out one on one again." She sat up and looked at him. "Unless you don't want to do any of those things..." her voice trailed off.

The thought of meeting other humans seemed to turn Léan off, immediately. He frowned, and sighed softly. "...I need to get some sleep, so if we are going to do anything, it can't be in the morning..." he muttered, shifting slightly. "I suppose we could do something a little later, in the afternoon..."

Alice nodded, a bit disappointed, but she understood. She looked over at him. "Well, i guess i should let you rest then. If you don't want to do anything on land, we don't have to..." She sighed. "Anyways, i guess i'll let you get back home then." She said softly. It was a nice night, she wished it didn't have to end so early, but land was probably a big stress on him so she understood.

Léan yawned, widely, before he responded. "I didn't say I didn't want to do anything...just that I need to sleep..." he muttered, growing more tired by the moment. "I'll be here later on in the day...if you want to do something, just come and find me..."
He turned and dipped down into the water, quickly disappearing into the deeper waters... |
Alice stayed in the water for a bit after Lean left. She floated on her back and just thought. Thought about the day and their date. She wondered if Lean had any fun. She hoped he did, but still she floated there and stared up at the big clear moon.

It had been a new sort of experience for Léan. But, he had indeed had fun. Too much of the human world at this stage was not good for him...so, small doses were fine. Dates were all right. Spending days and days on land was not favorable to him. Not yet, at least...

Alice let out a sigh as she stared up at the moon. It was a calm and peaceful night. when she heard a splash, that didn't match the gentle waves, she stopped floating and got to her feet. She looked around. "Lean?" She called out to the water. But why would he be coming back? Wasn't he tired? Something felt strange, the hairs on teh back of her neck were standing up. "Lean is that you?"
