Grant watched Lilly and Drake, beginning to smile and he slowly nodded, "I say..... I didn't realize the two were attached. That whether her powers have been proven or not, he needs her." He looked down at Rik before chuckling heartily, "Come on Drake, bring your lady too." He called, watching as the blue girl, presumably the Lilly girl that Trent had spoken about in the past, jumped and blushed darkly.

"I understand, Drake." Her gaze up at him told him just how much she understood, telling him silently that she felt the same way.Suddenly she felt her face change, "Come on, Drake." She said, stepping back but not releasing his hand, glancing over at Rik. When she caught him looking at them as well she felt her cheeks almost freeze over as she blushed and quickly turned to trying to peel the lemon one handed to distract herself from her embarrassment, wishing they'd hurry up and leave.

Trent laughed at that, "I certainly will. I'll keep you on your feet. I promise." He told her, noting her wrinkled nose, "We'll be home soon and then you can hide if you feel like it." He said, wondering if Grant was going to stop by and pick up the new clothes before heading home.

Rik gave Lily and Drake a lopsided grin, happy that they were all going to stay together. He found friends and he didn't want to leave them now. "Good. I'm excited to meet everyone." He said, looking to Grant. He was truly excited but not the kind that made him charged up. He was happy to meet more broken. "I hope you don't mind, but I have a ton of questions for you." He said to Grant. He did, he had so many more questions about being a broken, why Grant was the one helping them, why Lily and Drake could negate each other's powers.

Drake's lopsided grin appeared when Lily looked up at him. He was glad that she had understood what he was trying to say and that she seemed to feel the same way. Still holding her hand, he noticed her sudden embarrassment and chuckled as he watched her struggle with the lemon. "Let me help you." He held the lemon for her so she could try and peel it open.

Molly's smile grew when she heard Trent laugh. She always liked his voice, but especially his laugh. Her smile faded a bit when he noticed her face. "I'd rather not hide. It'd be nice to be able to talk to everyone." a sigh escaped. "Maybe i just need my bandages..." She suggested, but she didn't really want to put them on either. She liked being able to see their colors, particularly Trent's.

The smile then came back. The guys had bought more food, they had plenty and the kids they just picked up could probably use a good meal. "I should make us all a nice dinner." She said looking up at him. "Do you think that'd be okay?"

Grant looked down at Rik as he began walking towards the seamstress first, smiling at him, "I'm sure you'll like Richard. I'm going to warn you though. We have a rather unique broken at our home though. Unique among broken. See, most of us have a shot at normal lives but Sarah... Well Sarah's different. She looks nine but she is about your age I'd bet. Also she appears as if she's been dead a while and hasn't stopped moving, she moves like she's tired too. It'd be best if you don't stare at her but try not to ignore her too much. Okay?" His warning given he decided to turn to answering questions so nodded, "Okay, shoot." He said cheerfully to the boy, for in Grant's eyes Rik was a boy, who's hair stuck out with static.

Lilly caught the smile from Rik and smiled back, clearly relieved that Grant had decided to let her come with them. His offer to help her turned face dark again and she nodded, "Thanks." She said, getting a fingernail under the peel and digging her fingers under it from there. It took a lot of work but with him holding the lemon she got it off and began eating it like an orange, never once making a face as if it were sour.

Trent listened to her nodding but at her mention of the bandages he said nothing. The mention of food got a reaction from him and he was bright as he agreed, "That'd be great! It'd be really nice of you Mol."

Drake smiled as he watched Lily eat the lemon, Her cheeks dark. She was cute but he wasn't going to say anything. He heard his stomach rumble and his face turned a bit red. The whole fight had distracted him, but he was famished. He hoped that Grant had food back at his place, but he felt a little bad that the first thing he wanted was food.

Molly grinned, excited at the prospect. "You going to help me make dinner?" She raised an eyebrow at him from beneath her blondish hair. "If you don't want to help cook, company would be nice..." She added a little bit quieter. Molly didn't mind cooking for everyone, but it was a little bit of a downer when everyone else was in the other room and she was all alone. Biting her lip, she was hoping she wasn't asking too much from him. She just wanted to spend more time with him.

Lilly was down to the last three sections of her lemon when she heard Drake's stomach and blinked, glancing up at him a moment before looking at her lemon a bit sadly as if she were saying good-bye to it before holding it up to him, "Here." She said softly, offering it up to him, "It'll be really sour to you, I'm sorry. Lemons take getting used to before you stop noticing the bite." She never noticed the bite they had anymore after spending a month living off them once.

Trent glanced down at her as she spoke before smiling, "Of course!" He paused, "I'm not good at cooking though so I'll probably mess things up." I'm sorry if I do." He said.

Drake blinked as he looked down at the slice of lemon. He smiled but shook his head. "Thanks, but I'll be fine. You eat it. You were the one craving lemons." He squeezed her hand and picked up their pace so that they had caught up ti Rik and Grant. He glanced over at the older boy carrying the other girl, Trent and Molly. It was odd that he was carrying her, Drake could see her feet moving, she appeared capable of walking. He ignored the thoughts and listened to Grant as he talked.

Molly giggled. "Don't worry. Cooking for you guys all the time, i've gotten pretty good at fixing things when i mess up. I'm sure you'll be fine." She smiled up at him. "So what should we make? We should still have some meat..." She thought aloud as she tried to decide on what to make.

Rik looked back at Grant, a wide smile on his face. He loved being able to ask questions, when Grant told him about the girl who was different than the rest of them he wanted to ask him about her. He held back, wamtimg to focus omn his most current questions.

"Alright, do you have any idea why we are different than everyone else?" He asked him. It was the most simpliest question. "And do you have any kind of understanding in how the broken's powers work?" He added. Rike was trying really hard to keep his questions one at a time so he won't overload on Grant. He's been dyimg to talk to him since Lily had told him about Grant.

Grant shook his head, glancing at Rik, "Well, theory is that the Great Wars messed up the human genetics and the genes are weaker now. Broken people are people who's genetics have rearranged into some kind of super race." He shrugged, "Next?"

Lilly popped the rest of the lemon in her mouth with a shrug. Once they'd caught up to the others she moved her hand out of his to place both around his upper arm, leaning on him slightly as they walked. She didn't have much to say at the moment so continued to watch Trent who would occasionally glance over at her. She looked up at Drake for a moment with a small smile. "Drake. Will you be alright for a few minutes? I want to talk to Trent."

Trent shrugged again, "That's completely up to you." HE paused a second before looking down at her and grimacing, "You do realize that I'm not going to let you cut anything, right? I know you do it a lot but knowing you're doing it and seeing you do it is different."

Drake looked down at her, a little confused as to why she had to leave him, but she nodded. "Yeah I'll be fine." He hung back a bit, knowing his temperature was going to rise as soon as she let him go. He didn't want to burn the others out or make them all too uncomfortable.

Molly giggled and smiled at him. "If you insist, you can cut things." In the kitchen, she had gotten quite good with a knife, but she realized the thought of a blind girl using a knife had to be scary. "I was thinking maybe stew? If Rich had the veggies that is." Then her smile grew. "Besides, cutting all that up would keep you busy with me for a while." Her cheeks reddened slightly with the statement.

Rik nodded as he saved that bit of informantion away. "How many of us are there?" HHe was curious to know if Grant knew how many there were. "Oh and are there others who can negate each other powers like Lily and Drake can?" He asked. His mind was whirling with questions. He was also eager to get to meet the others that had been taken in by Grant. He was glad to have found a place to belong to once and for all. He really did hate being alone and drifting from town to town. He found a place for his answers and a place where he could interact with others that were like him.

"Will you tell me more abount the girl who looks nine? She sounds interesting. I never known others like me until recently. I am very interested in learning abount everyone and about their powers." Rik said, feeling like a little kid with too many questions.

Lilly smiled at him when he agreed and then did the oddest thing without planning it. She stood to her toes and kissed his cheek, coming back to her flat feet with a confused expression before shaking her head and letting go of him. She skipped up to Trent and placed a finger on his shoulder before she got too cold, smiling at him. "Trent." She said and the other responded, "Lill." He then looked down at Molly with a slight frown before speeding up to hand her to Grant. "Mol, I'm going to have to give you over to Grant. I have some things I want to tell Lilly."

After handing her over he went back to the young freezer with a sigh, crossing his arms, "Took you long enough." He said awkwardly and the girl nodded before pulling out the necklace out, handing it over, "Yeah, yeah. Now show me what it does." She said to him. It wasn't long before he had the trinket moving, it seemed to move of it's own accord. It turned into two lillies with a picture of two adults hugging each other and smiling. She recognized them at once, her parents.

Grant looked down at Rik with a smile, blinking as he took Molly from Trent but held her easily still, "There's as many broken as there are infected. Maybe more, I don't know the mumbers though." He thought a moment before smiling, "I know of lots of people who can negate other's powers, I can to an extent sometimes." He began to then agree to explain more about Sarah but then he heard the thud of flesh on flesh and the new girl. the frosty one was screaming, hysterical.

That's when the pain hit and the young woman came to an abrupt halt, both hands to her forehead as she cried out once in pain as memories rushed back. Her Real name was Lillian, that was good but the last time she'd seen the face in front of hers..... She shook her head once, twice, then her eyes narrowed as Trent's did the same. The color of his eyes, she was focused on it entirely. The young man stepped forward, hand on her shoulder oblivious to the frost that began creeping up, "Lill?" He asked but Lilly didn't have the reaction he expected.

"You Bastard!" She shouted suddenly and drew back a fist, flinging it forward before she realized what she was doing. "Murderer!" She shouted again before her hands were being restrained by Grant. thick lines of frost was forming from her eyes down her cheeks as ice fell to the ground from her chin, "You killed them."

Rik was surprised by the comotion behind them. He whirled around to see Lily screaming at Trent. His face furrowed in confusion, not sure what was going on. "Lily..what's going on?" He asked, walking up to her. He glanced at Drake, nodding at him to take ahold of Lily to try to calm her down. He looked up at Trent, questions written all over his face. "What's going on, Trent? What is she talking about?" He asked, trying to keep his calm. It was bad enough that Lily was upset, it wouldn't be good if he got upset too.

Drake was shocked by the kiss, but it didn't really have time to register before she skipped away. He shoved his hands in his pockets and smiled. Maybe things weren't going to be so bad.

Molly was a bit surprised, but she couldn't really protest when she was handed over to Grant. But as she looked up at the big man holding her and then over the the yellow-gold figure next to him, her temples started to throb. When she heard the sound of a punch she jumped. Grant set her down and she stood and stared at them. Carefully stumbling over to them, Molly took a hold of Trent's arm. "Are you okay?" She asked her voice soft.

When Drake heard Lily scream he almost snapped. In an instant He was at her side. He wrapped his arms around her and tried to warm her up and calm her down. He was physically strong enough to hold her in place so Grant could let go. "Lillian, what's going on?" He whispered in her ear as he glared daggers at Trent. What ever that guy had done, Drake wasn't happy about it. He was fighting to not let his temperature rise. He held on to Lily for both their sakes, so they would hurt anyone with their abilities.

Grant let go of the frozen girl as soon as possible and crossed his arms with confusion on his kind face. He wouldn't immediately jump to conclusions but even after Drake had a hold on Lilly she was still trying to get at Trent who looked shocked. She looked as though she wanted nothing more than to get her hands around his neck and squeeze until he stopped moving.

The shock on Trent's face fueled her anger more and she jerked her body away, "Don't touch me right now!" She snapped at Drake, frost beating out his powers in her anger. She turned back to Trent but Grant's arm reaching in front of her as a barrier stopped her. "You thought I was just going to be glad I found you?! You thought you could just kill them and walk away clean?!" She shouted, throwing the necklace at Trent and hitting him square with it. She needed to go calm down she realized when the chain almost came close to hitting the girl next to him so after a deep breath and a moment of counting she turned around, moving back to Drake and wrapping arms around him insecurely, "He's my brother. He killed our parents and abandoned me. I'd lost my memory but for some reason it just came back to me." She answered, wiping away at the tears that still slowly leaked from her eyes.

Trent frowned as he was still yelled at, wincing when the necklace was thrown but picking it up, "Y-yeah. I'll be fine." HE answered Molly, seeming shaken as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

Rik rubbed his temples, his head aching with his own past memories. "Lily..calm down. I doubt he did it on purpose." Rik started. He took a few steps back, unsure if he should speak on the matter. He really had no right to, nor did he think he did. "There has to be a reason." He said. Memories came flooding back to him, of that little girl held killed with his own powers. He shook his head, griping onto the present and keeping his own emotions under control. "Trent, do you want to explain what happened?" He asked. He looked to Grant, wondering if he could do anything besides keep Lily from killing Trent.

Rik shook his head, wishing things would have turned out better for the two siblings. He didn't know what else he could do, he had no family of his own, not that he was sure of it. If he did, they were either long gone or dead. Most likely by his own hands. He watched as Drake comforted Lily, knowing only he could.

Drake was fighting to keep himself from moving around Grant and strangling Trent himself, But then Lily turned around and clung to him. He let out a deep breath and wrapped his arms around her. Gently stroking her hair, Drake kissed the top of her head. "It'll be okay, I promise." He said to her in a calm voice. Her took her a few yards away from the others. She needed distance and time to cool her head.

Molly felt the wind of something flying through the air near her. It must have been what Trent had bent down to pick up before he wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Molly could see he was shaken up. It showed in his normally steady color. She wrapped her arms around him and tried to be comforting. Looking up at his face, she saw the biggest fluctuation of color there. Tentatively reaching up and putting a hand on his face she frowned. "She got you good." She pulled her hand back and let it rest on his chest as she looked back to Drake and Lily.

By now her head was pounding. When Lily screamed her color intensified, as did Drakes. Emotions were all running high and that wasn't good for Molly. She tried to ignore the pain and looked back up to Trent. She wasn't exactly sure of what to say. She knew that Trent lost control. She assumed that was what had happened to his parents and with as sad as the situation was, he really had no control over it. Her brow creased, her head pounding. When they got home, dinner was going to have to wait.

Lilly nodded to Drake as he spoke, calming quickly. A pain, or multiple pains, was starting to make itself known where Drake had touched her before and she sniffled a bit before quietly blinking, "Why does my skin hurt?" She asked, unaware that Drake's rising temperature when he'd angered had left her with burns. Ones that wouldn't heal immediately but wouldn't scar. She was blistered though.

Trent winced when Molly touched his face, hissing when it stung, "Yeah. She has some strength in those fists." He agreed, looking down at the necklace and placing it in his pocket. He placed his hand on top of hers though as he heard Grant clear his throat, "Alright everyone. Come on. We can work this out after we get home." He said with authority.

Rik sighed, he was glad Grant was there to settle things. "Sounds good. Drake, I think you need to calm down a bit." He said, shoving his hands in his pockets. He felt tired, partly because of the use of his powers and because of the emotional drain he was feeling. "So, where are we heading off to now?" He asked, trying to distract everyone from the high emtions. The girl called Molly didn't look like she was handling everyone's high strung emtions right now. He wondered what her powers were. Maybe he could ask once they got back to the house Grant ran.

Drake instantly removed himself from Lily. His hands went up and pull at his hair. He didn't even notice the spots of frost bitten skin on him. "Oh god, Lilian, I am so sorry!" He couldn't believe what he had done. How could he let himself hurt the person he cared about? He sank to the ground and ran his hands over his face. He couldn't even look at her, he was afraid she would never speak to him again. "I'm sorry." He mumbled again, not hearing or paying attention to Grant's instructions.

Molly felt bad when he winced at her touch. But the feeling disappeared when his hand ended up on hers. If it wasn't for the current situation, she would have been ecstatic at his act, but things were too high strung right now. Her head was still pounding as she heard Grant's orders. She closed her eyes and rested her head on Trent's chest. "So much for a nice day." She mumbled into him.

"Uh-uh." She said, shaking her head as Drake fret over the injuries, moving back to him to wrap her arms around him, "Stand up." She said, pulling him to his feet. It was hard and she could feel her cheeks flush with the reaction but he needed reassurance just as much as she did it seemed. "Stop it. I don't care. You could burn me to a crisp and I'd only mind a little. It'd be hard to move around that way, you know?" She joked lightly as she looked at him, tucking herself against him. She felt his skin though, patches felt rough and she gasped, twisting out of his grip suddenly. "Drake. Your arms."

Trent heard Molly faintly as he watched Lilly but at her comment he swept her back up off the ground and kissed her forehead, "Oh, I think it'll get better again." He said, following Grant with her as Grant answered Rik, "We're going to go get Sarah and Molly's clothes."

Rik nodded to him. He didn't have but the clothes on his back, seeing how he didn't think they were all that important. "That's cool. Maybe I'll look into getting some more." He commented. He glanced back at the two behind them, seeing them comfort each other. He shook his golden head again, not sure what to do for either of them. "Is Sarah the girl who is different that most broken?" He asked. He wasn't sure how many girls there were or who was who yet. He knew that the boy with the girl in his arms was Trent and the girl was Molly, he had already memorized their faces. He wanted to meet the others badly, he didn't really want to go shopping, but he had to to wait.

Drake was relieved she didn't leave him, or yell at him. When he was pulled to his feet he instantly wrapped his arms around her. He held her tight. "I never want to burn you, whether i can help it or not." He mumbled. He was about to kiss the top of her head when Lily tore from his grip. Looking down he saw the patches of blackened frostbitten skin. He didn't even acknowledge them, instead he grabbed Lilly and pulled her to him again. "It's nothing." Squeezing her tight for a moment before he let her go and found her hand. Lacing his fingers with hers he walked them over to Rik. Trent and Molly were on the other side of Grant, Drake wanted it to stay that way, for now at least anyway.

Molly didn't protest when she was swept up off her feet, in fact she was rather glad. Migraines made her fumble even more than normal. When Trent kissed her forehead, Molly could have sworn her heart stopped. Her face had to have been the brightest shade of red that matched Trent's color. But a smile appeared on her face despite the pain and her arms tightened around his neck. She bit her lip, tempted to kiss his cheek, but she had no depth perception, even with his color, and she knew she would just end up smacking her face off his bruise and looking like an idiot. So, letting her head rest on his shoulder, Molly closed her eyes and tried to get the pain to fade.

Lilly nodded, rubbing at her skin before shaking her head, "But you didn't burn me that badly. It took me a while to realize it was there." she said, running her finger lightly over a frostbitten patch, "I'm sorry though. I've never done that to someone before. She thought it was fair though. That Drake shouldn't feel so badly now. She'd hurt him too.

Trent was quiet as the walked, carrying Molly but after a few moments he looked down, "I'll rub your head and neck when we're back."'he offered. He'd done it the first time they met but not often since then.

Grant looked over at Rik as he spoke of getting new clothes, "Don't worry about it." he waved a hand dismissively as they reached the seamstress. He got the clothing for the two girls and after paying for some extra clothing he handed it to Rik. "There's shirt and pants for you, they'll be baggy, and a shirt for Drake." he eyed the shirtless man with a frown then decided to answer, "Yes, Sarah is the different one. Richard is with her right now, he took her out for some fresh air while we were gone."

Rik was surprised at the kindness Grant shown to them. He put the clothes in his bag, save the one for Drake. "Thank you. You really didn't have to do that." He said. "I'm just looking forward to meeting everyone." He added with a slight smile. "This shirt won't burn up if he touches it, will it?" He asked Grant, lifting the shift and nodding towards Drake. He knew that the heater had a hard time finding clothing that didn't burn right off him as soon as he put it on. He looked back at Lily and Drake, smiling softly at them.
