Léan had calmed himself down by this point, and he shook his head slightly. Why was he even worrying? The human was smaller than him...but he could be overpowered on land, seeing as it wasn't his home turf. That was what he was worried about...if it had gotten out of hand...

"Oh I am sorry. I didn't mean to I just don't knwo what I do when you sing. I just know being close to that voice makes me very happy." Adam smiled. "And i want to be as close to it was possible from what I learn from the first time you sang." Adam smiled and make him self comfy. "so why were you sing so late at night for?"

"I had an unfavorable dream..." Léan seemed to shifting in and out of formal speech, adopting some of the speech that Adam used. He only knew what English he had learned in school and from taking private classes. "Singing calms me. So, I decided to sing to calm myself down."

"Oh I hate nightmare every time I get them I wake up with my heart racing and in a panic." He looked to Léan "I'm sorry you had a bad dream want to talk about? I good at listening." He smiled. "Those I am glad you decided to be on land with me because if you would have been singing in the water. I think I would be dead by now."

Léan immediately backed off the topic of his nightmare, and shook his head. "No...I'll be fine. I don't have to talk about it..." His voice had become strained--whatever was in the nightmare must have been quite awful for him.

Adam just nodded. "Ok then well we could talk about some thing else and get to know each other better if your not ready to go back to sleep yet." He smiled. "Un less you rather sing again which at this rate you might as well tied me down so I don't try any thing to you while your singing."

Léan sighed, scratching his head. "I still feel like singing. But, let's get it out of the way before I do so..." He fixed Adam with a serious look. "Do you or do you not have any feelings toward me?"

Adam was taken back by what Léan said. Of course Adam had some type of feeling to Léan he really was liking him but he know nothing would come of it. He didn't know if he was brave enough to even say it. He just looked away and was quite for a while toying with his finger tip touching them together. "Ummm... welll... I mean I would be lying if I said no... But I know nothing can happen between us... so no worries ok?"

"What do you mean nothing can happen?" Léan arched an eyebrow. Now that his suspicions were confirmed, he wanted to see just what was preventing Adam from trying to act on his attraction. Léan never had any sort of attraction to anyone physically, so mentally would have to do. Since this was a human unlike most he had come across, he was at least feeling something.

"Well I mean your teaching me to swim so I can go home... If I go home the likely hood of seeing you again would be huge... I mean... It would be sad to start some thing then have to give it up because I don't belong." He sighed. "I like you.... I do but I mean I'm not sure... On my own feelings to much. I mean your a merman... a very good looking on..." he sighed. "But I mean just cause I like you dosen't mean you'll like me back so its best to jsut think that way that nothing would happened so I don't get my hopes up."

Léan chuckled. "It's very rare that I have any sort of attraction to anyone physically...mentally is different. Mentally, I believe you're appealing. Is it where you live that is the problem--is it not by the water? Is it the species difference that is ailing you?"
He could give an extensive explanation on that much. |
"Yeah I don't live near the water." He sighed. "I live about an hour inland on a bigger land mass. I was just on a trip to the island with my school before the storm hit us badly." He sighed. "Well may being to different race is a problem... but not so much... I'm not sure. I think its odd for me to be thinking like I am over you.... I am not trying to be rude but its odd for me to think your really good looking see as you have a tail for your bottom half. But even so I am still attracted to you."

"Unless legs are a sexual catalyst for you, the fact that I lack them should not be a problem. I still...have all the proper parts, if that's what you're wondering..." Léan paused, for a brief moment. "Is there a river leading inland, near where you live?"

"Yeah there at less two of them with in a 10min walk of my house. They all lead to the ocean which is nice." then Adam paused in thought. "Well I never thought of it thast way. If I like legs or not.... I guess it dosne't matter if I find you attractive as you are with out them. So I guess I don't care about the leg part." then Adam blushed thinking about what Léan said abou the proper parts.

Léan paused, as he thought. He was wary of staying inland, especially in rivers, seeing as it was usually easy to see inside of them. "Do these rivers lead to lakes?" he asked, hopefully. Fresh water was not a problem for him, and lakes were perfect. If there was still a way to get to the ocean, he could still visit his brother, who lived up in the Bering Sea around Alaska.

"Well one of them dose I just can't remeber which one of the two but the lakes about a 20 minute walk from my house those that not to bad I guess." Adam looked to Léan. "Are you thinking of visting me when I go back or even living in the lake?" He wonder where these questiong was going.

"Only if something develops between us while you are here," Léan informed him, reasonably. He had no reason to go with him, after all, if something didn't happen between them.

Adam eyes widen with happily for a few second. He was hoping Léan would come visit him and live near by. "I would like that if you did because even if thing don't happpend I mean you did save my life and I would like to talk to you again because really I'll never forget you."

Léan paused, and then nodded. "I suppose I could do that...however, I don't want anyone else knowing about me unless it's absolutely necessary..." He didn't like humans, after all...he probably never would...

"Well I won't tell any one about you I mean there a chase it could hurt you. That a chance I don't want to take because I like you and own you at the same time." Adam smiled to Léan. "I don't want you take away if you go to visit me or live there."

Léan's tail flicked back and forth, and he nodded. "All right..." He fell silent after that. He didn't know if they'd confirmed the desire to try and start something between them yet...

"So do merman look down on same sex relations... I know people on land tend to do that... Its why at school I never talk about it and still get picked on because they can tell I'm not like them."

"Oh, of course not." Léan paused for a long moment. "...Well, how should I explain...see, mermaids don't need mermen and vice versa to reproduce. Males can have children, and females can 'make' children...so, there is no reason for anyone to look down on it. Couples are quite varied underwater..."

"Males can have children how. I don't understand that because in my curtrue it takes a man and woman to have a child. Is your race like a sea horse then?" Adam was not understand what was going on yet with how males could have children unless they adpoted.

Léan scratched his head, unsure of how exactly to go about explaining this. "Males can give birth to children. They do not have the parts females do, but they can give birth to children. Our genes are androgynous...we can take on the roles of both genders, birth-wise...females can impregnate...I hope that clarifies things."
