Adam has always dislike the water this started after a time when he was very young and he almost drown in his friend's pool. He usually stays away from any big area of water when ever he can. His family has try almost everything to teach him to swim and stay in the water but most a temps fail. Those some rare days his family get him to go in to the water about ankle to kneel deep.

But he never goes far-er than that. He is good with school and has a fair amount of friends but because of his fear of the water most people won't give him the time of day thinking he is to weird for them. Adam has never really liked girls like the other guys did and he never seem to like guy either. He just felt weird about the whole thing. One of his friends told him he just had not found the right girl yet and just give it time. Adam smiled and nodded when he was told this but it was hard to believe.

It was a nice day for a school outing, Adam school was going away for the weekend to a small island off the coast line. The weather-man said that a tropical storm was brewing but it would not effect the area they were in. Adam had put up a fuss about this trip. He did not want to go because part of it would be spend on the beaches playing in the water.

This was a thing Adam feared the most but he could not get out of going because this trip counted as part of his grade for class. The ride to the store felt like it took hours to get there. Then they had to go on a boat to get to the island. Adam was shaking as he tried to step on to the boat but his buddy pushed him on the boat to move him along. "Oh come on its not that bad your on top of the water not in it." His friend said and it made Adam smiled a little.

He decide to find an area away from other and sit down until they got to the island. Once there the teachers checked them in to the hotel which was right over looking a beach. The teacher sent the kids to drop off there things in there rooms then told them today they could go to the beach. Those tonight would be the big pig roast on the shore line so they need to be out of the water by 6pm. Adam sighed as he went in to his room and looked out the window. "Water..."

His friend smirked toss his bag on a bed and quickly changed to go to the beach. Adam slowly set his bag down then changed. He may not like the water but at less he would like the part. When Adam got down to the beach the clouds were starting to darken but no one seem to care as they were playing in the water. Adam looked up at the cloud as he laid down on his beach towel. He hoped it would rain soon so he would have a reason to go back inside with out seeming to weird.

A storm was brewing today. Normally, storms were a terrific and interesting sight for those occupying the underwater world. Today, however, one of its occupants wasn't so happy about the weather.

Léan hated how antsy the bad weather made fish. They would crowd closer to the shoreline, fearing getting caught up and smacked around by large, icy swells out at sea, or chopped up by errant boats caught in the current. As a result, the lithe merman would have to chase them into shore. He usually made sure that he couldn't even make out the shoreline of human beaches and territories on the horizon when he hunted, or even when he traveled. Today, he was not going to get what he wanted.

He could just barely make out the tan edge of the human beach from where he was. His arctic blue eyes narrowed, before he dove back underwater. Surely no human would wander out this far into the water...the loud whistling calls from the land would call them back, as they always did. He wasn't quite sure what those noises were, but they seemed to startle humans and call them back to shore.

Attempting to ignore the paranoid prickle at the back of his neck that told him humans were nearby, he focused on hunting. There was a small school of tuna nearby...and they were quite jumpy, and hard to catch.

Ribe 10-29-2010 01:26 AM

Soon the loud whistling started to sound for the people to get off the beach and out of the water. But it was to late with the winds picking up and whipping around. The tropical storm turn in to a class five hurricane and headed right for this island of all places. Adam grabbed his towel as he started to run inside but he was soon trumped by other scared people and was left on the beach while people ran inside.

The winds started to toss the tree around and in to building. People who could not get out of the water on time where pulled under kicking and screaming until they drown. The waves crashed on to the beach in a violent stream that did not seem to end. The waves got higher and higher until the water reached Adam laying passed out on the beach. When the waves crashed over him it pulled him in to the ocean.

The cold water woke Adam up and he scream for help. "HELP ME!!" But he was pulled in to the water. He flowed along the top of it because of the power of the wave. But once he had out far enough he started to drown. Adam kicked and scream thrashing around trying to get back to shore. He could barely see the shore line he was so far.

He started to sink with the waves crashing over him over and over again. He could not swim at all so when his legs got tried he went under the water. On the shore line people were being rip and throw against building by the force of the waves over the land.

Mira-Charma13 10-29-2010 02:01 AM

Léan didn't mind being tossed around by the waves now that he had caught a fish for himself--the torrential rainfall felt nice on his back, as well. When he finally started to grow fatigued, he dipped back underwater, finishing up the last bits of his small tuna with a few hard gulps.

He didn't expect the slow brush against his arm, and he jolted backwards, at least three feet away from whatever had touched him. It was a human...a male human, facing away from him, struggling in the water. Fear pulsed through the merman's veins. Humans were terrifying creatures to encounter in his world. Most encounters with them resulted in death of either the merperson or the human.

He calmed down once he noticed the human was fighting to stay afloat, his legs and arms flailing uselessly against the raging water. He watched for a while, staying out of sight, as the human sank. He was fighting with himself. He hated humans...but, he couldn't just let the boy die...

Ribe 10-29-2010 02:23 AM

The storm was getting really bad on the surface world. The hotel windows were all blown out cars were over turned or started be be washed out to see. Boats were rocking in the water. Some flipped over and where now sinking in to the ocean. The death count was quickly rising and people were trying to stay alive.

Andy never felt like he touch some one he just felt the cold of the water that was making his body numb. Even if this was a warmer area the storm maybe very thing feel see cold. Andy manage to pull his head one more time above the water but was quickly pushed back down. His life seem to flash before his eyes.

His thoughts raced. 'Am I going to die like this.... funny I know I hate water for a reason...' He was still straggling to get to the surface but this time he was unable to. The water was crushing and crashing over him and his body was being tossed like a rag doll. He could no longer hold his breathe and soon started to take in water in to his mouth.

Mira-Charma13 10-29-2010 02:31 AM

Léan's fearful resolve faded once the human began to give up, in a sense...his struggling slowed, his chest stopped heaving to take in air. He shot forward, slipping under the human. He shifted quickly so that the human's back was to his back, and shot to the surface, allowing him to take in air.

He began to swim quickly across the water, searching for a safe place to stay until the storm had quelled. He had no way of keeping humans alive underwater. He knew there was a small sandbar nearby, farther out at sea, that led up to a slight protrusion of rock coming up from the ocean...he could keep the human there.

Ribe 10-29-2010 02:56 AM

Adam coughed up water once he was pushed up to the surface of the water. Those soon he passed out from being tried he could feel some one arms keeping him from going back under but he thought he was dreaming. Adam was at the mercy of the water and the being moving him those he did not know it yet. The storm raged on for hours and hours until it died down in the morning. The water way look calm and cool like nothing had happen to them the land how ever was wreck and would takes months even years to fix all of the damages down to the area.

(sorry it is short)

Mira-Charma13 10-29-2010 03:00 AM

Léan had managed to reach the rocky bluff he knew was there before the water rose even more. He stayed by it, using it to balance himself and keep Adam out of the water. Once the boy started to fully lose consciousness, he pushed him up onto the rocks, high above the water.

Léan himself stayed in the water, ready to move if Adam needed it. He stayed around the bluff, making a temporary nest in one of the small caves in the side of the rocks underwater. He was asleep in his nest by the time morning rolled around.

Ribe 10-29-2010 03:16 AM

The warm sun light beat down on Adam body as the cool winds blow his face softly over his face. His clothes where still soak from the raging waters as he turned over and curled up in to a ball not knowing why he was so wet. His hand looking for his bed but could not find one. So he cracked open his eyes just a little because he did not want to wake up yet but need to find his blanket to get warm.

He saw his wet towel laying next to him in a ball, it was rip a little but it was still good. "Mmmm... I most have fell asleep on the beach..." He mutter to him self as he took his towel and pulled it over him. He cuddled in it even if it was wet it still made him feel warmer. Then went back to sleep not taking in what really happen to him sleep night. He would have been freaking out and screaming for help if he had known where he was.

Mira-Charma13 10-29-2010 03:40 AM

Léan ventured out of his nest in the morning to hunt...he figured he should try to find something for the human to eat, as well. When it came to humans, he held little knowledge about what they ate...so he was hoping some soft sea plants would suffice. The only things he had seen them eating were fish...and they didn't eat them raw, most of the time...

He nabbed a few small fish for himself, and then gathered up a small bundle of different seaweed breeds.

Ribe 10-29-2010 03:52 AM

Adam finally woke up with a loud yawn and stretch. the sun had barely drain his clothes and hos towel out. He opened his eyes then blinked. He won't on the beach, nor was he still on the island he know, nor did he see it. All he could see was the water all around him and sand bar with the rocks he was on. Adam pulled his towel up to his chest scared. So last night wasn't a dream.

He did not know what to do now. He was miles away from any where he know and on top of that on a sad bar surrounded by water. He hated the water that was all around him because he did not know how to swim so trying to swim back to shore was out of the question. "What do I do... where am I... I wanted go home." He cried.

Mira-Charma13 10-29-2010 04:12 AM

Léan took his time finding seaweed for the human. When he finally gathered enough for it to be considered a small meal, he slowly drifted up to the surface. His form could be seen approaching the surface from under the semi-clear water. Once his head did breach the surface, his looks became apparent.

He had platinum blonde hair, that reached down to the middle of his neck, and arctic blue eyes...his fish-like tail was a light bluish-purple that shone in the sunlight. He was holding a bundle of sea plants in his hand underwater.

Upon seeing the human was awake, he recoiled and almost disappeared beneath the surface again. Instead, he forced himself to stay still...and a staring contest began.

Ribe 10-29-2010 04:29 AM

As the form in the water grow close Adam eyes widen. "A SHARK!!!!!" He was freaking out. "Okay Okay stay calm stay calm. Shark can't come up on land. I'm safe okay.. breathe relax...." Then the form breached the surface of the water. It was a man... could another person have been washed out here with him. "Hi....."

Then he frozen seeing the tail. "Oh no the shark most have started to eat him!" Adam reach for the water in hopes maybe to pull the man out of the sharks mouth before he is fully eaten. He didn't even think it was a staring contest he thought of only the dangers the shark could do. "I'll save you from the shark!"

Mira-Charma13 10-30-2010 02:46 AM

Léan couldn't bring himself to do anything other than watch the strange human sweep through several different emotional states in less than a minute. He'd known humans were strange, but...this one seemed especially strange. He cleared his throat, tail flicking back and forth beneath the water.

"...I am not being eaten by a shark," he informed Adam, pointedly. "I am a being of the sea...what you humans call a merperson."

Ribe 10-30-2010 03:59 AM

Adam blinked at the tail... and the talking. The fish-man was talking it wasn't a man being eaten by a shark at all. Adam was terrified but the fish man merperson thingy before him. "AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!" He scream as he back in to as close to the middle of the sand bar as he could. "DON"T me...!!" He curled up in to a ball. and rock back in forth scared if he went near the water the merperson would try to eat him. He didn't know what a merperson ate but he was scared. "I don't tasted good at all... don't eat me please..." Adam eyes peeked over to see where the merperson was now.

Mira-Charma13 10-30-2010 04:04 AM

Léan had not moved from his spot. His English was a bit rusty--it was often why he spoke formally. But, he could understand what Adam was saying, at least. He rested his elbows up on the sandbar, tail swishing back and forth absently beneath the calm, tiny swells. Such a big change from the storm yesterday. Clutched in one of his hands was a decent-sized grouping of edible sea plants.

"I eat fish, and sea plants. I do not hunt humans...your fear is useless." He hesitated for the briefest of seconds, and then held out his hand, opening it, to offer the sea plants. "You must be hungry. I am afraid I do not know what you humans eat...this will have to do for now."

Ribe 10-30-2010 04:15 AM

Adam blinked at the merperson, it seem he was more scare of the it then it was of him. Adam looked at the sea plants and blinked.... "Ummmm....thanks....." He wonder if he could even eat the plants the merperson had brought him, those he was hungry he had not eaten for almost 24 hours at this point in time. Adam was still very scared and shaking as he slowly moved to the food and reached out for it. He was being caution if it looks like the merperson would touch him or grab him he was going pull back to the inside of the sand bar once more.

Mira-Charma13 10-30-2010 04:18 AM

Léan continued to hold his arm out, steadily. He didn't want to scare the human off, especially since he seemed to have an issue with staying afloat in water. He disliked humans in general, but he didn't like the idea of letting such a seemingly docile one drown.

He didn't move at all when Adam reached for the plants. He was attempting to be as non-threatening as possible.

Ribe 10-30-2010 04:29 AM

Adam quickly grabbed the plants and darted for the center of the sand bar. "Ummm thank you... those I'm not sure if I'll be able to eat them with out being sick..." He said. "But it looks like its sea weed.... I think I can eat that I mean they put that in sushi around the rice and fish... and veggies soo... I could try it...." He looked to the merperson still not sure what to make of him. Adam picked up a piece of seaweed and took a small bite out of it. Not sure if he would like it or not. But the taste was not bad but it wasn't good it was really salty. All the seaweed he ever eaten before had been wash so all the salt was off of it. Those he kept eating it because his tummy was growling.

Mira-Charma13 10-30-2010 04:33 AM

"Fish?" Léan suddenly seemed interested. He stretched himself out, slightly. "...If I catch a fish for you, what parts of it would you eat? I could separate the parts for you. Seeing as fish are the integral part of my diet, I am very knowledgeable when it comes to them. There is a small school of tuna nearby, if that appeals to you..."

Fish...if he wanted fish, Léan would gladly catch a few fish for him.

Ribe 10-30-2010 04:42 AM

"Oh oh I do like fish.... But parts... umm the body? you know right under the scales but not the guts and stuff the meat... that on in between the bones and the scale dose that make any since...?" Then Adam paused. "Hey what a minute....ummm why are you being so nice.... what in it for you..." Adam looked at the merperson wondering what was going through it head. back where he from people don't just do thing for other without a good reason. Adam now started looking over the merperson not sure what to think. Those he was still eating the same pieces of seaweed in his mouth.

Mira-Charma13 10-30-2010 04:46 AM

Léan shrugged, in response to his last question. "...I believe you are talking about the meat of the fish? Yes, I know what you mean," he assured him, nodding. "I will be back in a few minutes. Please, do not try to leave the sandbar. As you can see, there is no land in sight...the water is incredibly deep."

Before Adam could inquire of him any further, he had disappeared beneath the waves, back to the school of tuna that was fond of lingering nearby.

Ribe 10-30-2010 04:58 AM

Adam nodded back to the meat of the fish response. Then blinked once more as the merperson swam away leaving him alone once more. Adam kept the seaweed close to him just encase the merperson did bring him back a fish so he could wrap it up in the plant. He would try to make sushi the best her could, or at less that what he thought any ways. Adam wonder about the merperson he did not really respond to his question on what it wanted in return. But right now Adam was not in a place to argue really. He was trapped on a sand bar surrounded by water and could not swim. Adam sighed he wonder how he would get out of this mess and get back home.
