Luke came to the stairs and made his way up them, one hand on the rail and the other hand gently holding his cloak a bit so that he didn't trip on it. The human it would seem was humming softly to himself as he made his way to the top of the stairs. Confident that Loki was fine on his own and would return to him soon Luke was ready to settle down and sleep. Luke yawned lightly just as he reached the top of the stairs.

Nyth tilted his head, eyeing the boy. Ah, so it was him. "Good evening," Nyth muttered, bowing his head lightly as the boy reached the next landing. He shifted the blanket around his shoulders, eyeing the boy with black eyes, his nose wrinkling. He stank of that wolf. He wondered vaguely if the other demon was aware that he had left the boy unprotected. Unless he had weapons hidden on his body. He coldly eyed the boy, searching the cloaked form for any hint of weapons.

Luke had two weapons on his person, a dagger sheathed at his left hip and a poniard hidden in a sheath along the inside of his right boot. When the greeting was spoken to him, Luke paused and smiled warmly. "Good evening, sir." Luke spoke softly and politely, wondering only briefly about this person's choice of garment. He shifted on his feet slightly under the other male's scrutiny of him.

After speaking with someone about room and board,Lorraine was directed to go up some stairs so she could find her room.They gave her a key and told her what her door would look like.With a happy sigh she made her way to the stairs in question only to see two people with an amazing amount of tension between them.
Lorraine didn't want to bother them ,but she also needed to sleep."Would you mind moving so I can get by please?I'm just so tired!I haven't slept in a nice soft bed in days.." |
Nyth turned, giving some woman on the stairs a sharp glare. He would move when he felt like it. He turned to look back at the boy, eyeing him up and down. From what he could see, the boy had a dagger on his hip. He couldn't tell the length, given the cloak, but he could tell it was there. The wolf had not left his companion comepletely undefended. Good. Never knew when someone might turn on you. "So...where's your companion? Last I saw the two of you, the mutt wouldn't leave your side?" he asked, tilting his head and turning his eyes back to the woman for just a moment, shifting the blanket once more and moving lightly to the side, making some room for the woman to squeeze past.

With grateful smile she tried to get passed ,and that was when she noticed this man's strange appearance."What...Are you?"She stopped right in front of him and saw that he wore absolutely nothing except the blanket he clutched to himself."I'm sorry I don't mean to be rude!My name's Lorraine by the way..."She trailed off as when she felt herself blush a deep red.Why did he have horns of all things on his head?Who would parade around in nothing but a blanket?Lorraine had definitely stepped into a whole new world when she left her home,but this was something altogether different!She was so puzzled she completely ignored the young man this strange one had been speaking with.

"Excuse me, miss." Luke had spoken softly to the woman trying to get buy and moved as best he could to allow her passage. His orange eyes never leaving other male, flinching slightly when Loki was referred to as a 'mutt', the insult wouldn't have bothered the demon much, but it did sting Luke a bit. This person didn't even know his brother and already he was insulting him. Luke frowned just slightly. "He went outside for a bit." A light shrug and he glanced to the woman for a moment. Most of his attention was on the male. A bit curious as to how he would respond to the female's words.

"I've just needed...to get away from where I was. To a place more accepting of what I am. What brings you here then?" David said, sitting down and waiting for the waitress to come over.

Sasota relaxed against the comfortable earth, Loki's head cradled in her lap and the moon in the sky shining down. She started a soft repetition of running one hand along his neck and back, as she began to hum an enchanting melody.
Mianashi Sayomi sat in the tavern's front room, eating the last of the meal that someone had eventually delivered to her table. She'd ask that Naru's food be kept warm if possible, since the girl hadn't returned from outside yet. She watched as the carrot haired girl stumbled in looking exhausted and soon after headed upstairs. Sayomi would soon head up herself, but not until after Naru had eaten. For now she just enjoyed the sounds of the tavern around her. |
Seeing as the unique man was taking his time Lorraine turned to the other."What's your name?I must be annoying you both by now!Oh!Your eyes they're...Quite an unusual color."It seemed like the young woman had stepped into an wonderful inn which played host to all manner of beings.She wasn't sure if either of her companions were human like herself.Nervously she tugged on the fraying sleeve of her dress.There was no way she'd be able to sleep yet!Lorraine wanted to know what in this place attracted these amazing people.

Nyth turned to look at the woman, making note of the boy's discomfort with mild pleasure. "Hmm...that would depend dear girl," he hissed, eyeing her as she turned away to talk with the boy. "I can be whatever you want me to be." He glanced back at the boy when he had spoken, raising an eyebrow. "I see..." he muttered, turning to take a look down the stairs, seeing it best that he leave these two if they get into a conversation.

"Shape shifter, or demon?" Luke tossed his words to the other male with a shrug of his shoulders and a tone that clearly stated he really didn't care one way or the other what the male was...even if the female did care. Perhaps it would be best for him to leave the woman with the other male anyway. Then the female wanted to know his name, Luke smiled politely to her. "My name is Luke.." When she mentioned his eyes, he frowned again. Orange hair and orange eyes...they were such attention grabbers. He had no explanation for why his eyes were orange, he was human through and through, of that he was certain. It was clear that Luke was a bit uncomfortable and feeling just a little apprehensive of that male...Eyes closed for a moment as he sent a thought along the private mental link he shared with the wolf demon.
Loki was quite content. He was comfortable and hesitant to leave such comfort, however leave it he did. Slowly the wolf demon rose, eyes open, the crimson orbs glowing just a bit. His brother needed him. He could feel it with every fiber of his being. "Forgive me, Sasota, but I believe it is time for me to return to my brother." A soft lick was given to her cheek before Loki turned and trotted back into the building. Really it only took a few seconds for the demon to make his way inside the establishment and up the stairs. Stopping just behind Luke's feet and peering around his legs at the male and female that stood near his brother. Loki sniffed the air and snorted lightly. The male smelled familiar. Perhaps the creature that had been downstairs earlier. The scents were the same. |
Nyth chuckled lightly, turning to glare lightly at Luke. "I'm both, actually," he said, turning to look down the stairs at the sound of padding feet. His eyes narrowed as the wolf padded on up. Filthy little thing. "But I was neither at one point." He continued to watch the creature that looked like wolf. Who knew what it actually was. He took a few glancers down the hall, eyeing the still open door to his and Mimrien's room. There seemed to be no change from the shadows inside. And he wanted it to stay that way. No surprise visits.

Lorraine looked for one man to the other then saw the wolf staring at her."A shape shifter or demon?I find that,slightly hard to believe even if you have horns on your head sir!Maybe you could prove it."said the twenty year old as she addressed herself to the nameless one first.She turned to Luke letting the indignant look fade form her eyes."It's nice to meet you Luke.Finally someone whose hair is just as carrot colored as mine!Whose the dog,umm wolf,actually I won't even presume anything since I don't want to offend anyone!"After saying what was on her mind she couldn't help but return her gaze to the horned one.He was handsome in a way that Lorraine found quite intriguing,if slightly disturbing.Even with the horns and purple hair...and the scales ,or maybe because of them,he held a fascination for Lorraine that was quite different then what she'd ever encountered before.

Luke's apprehension seemed to fade some once Loki was near him, he glanced down and smiled to the wolf for a brief moment. Luke was silent, shifting on his feet a bit, his curiosity had been piqued a bit by the male's words. However, he would not let that show. When Lorraine asked about Loki, Luke smiled again. "That wolf is Loki, my brother."
Loki pressed the side of his head gently against one of Luke's legs, the human was feeling inadequate and still a bit apprehensive. Those crimson eyes studied the other male intently, studying him. He wasn't sure what he had did or said, but Loki was certain that this creature was the one making Luke nervous. Those crimson eyes narrowed just slightly. |
With a furious blush on her face she turned her gaze back to Luke."Your brother?How is that possible?I love asking questions if you hadn't already noticed and I apologize in advance if I say something that might offend you."Lorraine looked down at Loki and was amazed at how different he seemed then the illustrations she'd seen of wolves.She always thought that they would look,less menacing in real life.She supposed that was another one of her foolish notions that was going to be discarded.

Nyth turned, eyeing the boy once more. He lowered his gaze to the wolf, narrowing his eyes. "Loki? Like the old god?" he mused, going over what little he knew of Northern gods. Brutish bunch of savages. Nothing but war and pillage for them. He hummed lightly, lifting one hand to scratch at the scales on his chin, eyes glittering minor annoyance. He had become used to life without them and now that they had returned to his skin, they itched. He had no idea they could itch.

Julia turned to face David even more. "Basically the same with me. My home was just a breeding ground for trouble and arguments. I just couldn't handle it anymore; I needed to move on and do something more with my life. So here I am," she said, shrugging slightly and looking around the tavern again. "To be honest, I don't even miss it that much. I haven't even been away for long and I already feel more relaxed then I have in quite a long time."

~The dark haired girl watched as the wolf left, lightly calling out to him though he might not hear her, "Until next time, Loki." It was probably time for her to return inside as well. After a last look at the moon she pushed herself up from the ground and made her way in with graceful steps. She found her musical companion easily enough and sat down at the same table, "Evening Sayo, I am here to eat."
*Just then the door to the tavern opened, though...no one walked in. A moment later a bright orange furry creature jumped up into Naru's lap. It was a fox, though no ordinary animal. "Well hello Fisaga, what brings you around?" asked Sayomi. Meanwhile, Naru stroked his fur, obviously happy to see her friend again, though it barely showed on her smooth face. "I'm not busy right now," piped the handsome fox, though his mouth never moved, "and Sota's presence is hard to miss. Do you guys have a room where I can change? I don't want to startle anyone out here." Naru would be fine with eating in their room and it would allow the kitsune boy to change his form. "Yeah. I'll stop in the kitchen and get some food for Naru, while you two go upstairs." Pulling out the key she'd been given earlier, the prussian-eyed girl handed it to her companion. "Don't lose it. The key is engraved with our room number, so just match it to the right door." Sayo watched the two head for the stairs before disappearing into the kitchen. "How he is my brother does not matter. The only thing that matters is that he is my brother.." Luke was frowning just slightly and his tone was very matter-of-factly. The human did not seem annoyed or agitated at the female's questioning and his gaze barely strayed from the other male for more than a few seconds at a time. "...Yes, my brother was named after the old god.." Luke had frowned again. The human didn't know much about the old gods. Only what he had been taught by Lues and Vit..thinking of them caused him to shiver slightly and pull his cloak even tighter about his body.
Loki remained silent, his eyes on the male. There was little else he would or could do, other than watch. He would do nothing to provoke an attack, but he would protect himself and Luke if the male decided to attack. Loki had already crossed the female off as being more or less harmless, however we was not foolish enough to completely disregard her as a potential enemy. He nuzzled Luke's leg gently, a reassuring touch for the human. |
Nyth sniffed, eyeing the three coolly. "Well, this has been rather enjoyable but I really must be getting...downstairs..." Nyth trailed off, turning his head down the hall to check on the door to his and Mimiren's room. There were shadows moving under the door. (mostly because I forgot I had the door closed when I had Nyth exit XP) More than one set of legs. The shapeshifting demon gritted his teeth, narrowing his black eyes. Mimiren wasn't alone in there. His companion should be alone. Growling, the demon turned, marching down the hall and ignoring the others in the hallways and moving intently towards his room.
It had taken him ages to track that foolish boy down. And now that he had found him, he couldn't even bring himself to slit his throat. He would not kill a man half out of his mind, naked in the tub. It just...wasn't right. Speaking of which, where was that damn beast that always followed Mimrien around, anyway? Wasn't he always by the cultist's side? Wasn't here, as far as he could tell. And now Joseph sat, boredyly watching the unaware man, caught up in whatever had so enchanted him. Hazel eyes cautiously scanned the odd half-scars on the boy's body, interested and horrified at the same time. Joseph bit his lip, pushing auburn hair away from his face, rolling his leather clad shoulder tensely. Gods, this was awkward. And it was obvious through the constant fiddling of his dagger, tanned fingers lightly brushing the blade and hilt. He was broken from this awkwardness by the distinct sound of very determined footsteps in the hall. |
With a disappointed sigh Lorraine watched her new acquaintance leave.She only wished that she knew his name.in the end she shrugged the feeling off and turned again to Luke and Loki.Lorraine watched as Luke shivered for some unknown reason."What's wrong?"She'd always shivered that way,in disgust or fear she wasn't sure which,whenever Albern came to visit his betrothed.Lorraine could honestly say he was the only man she'd ever hated for his callous ways and black heart.She bent down to gaze into Loki's crimson eyes. Lorraine felt a little silly for talking to a wolf,although a strange one,but she did it anyway."Hello Loki,my name is Lorraine.How are you?"

Luke had only nodded when the male began to excuse himself, the human relaxed a bit once the creature had left them. Shaking his head slightly when Lorraine had asked him what was wrong. "That man..he sets my nerves on edge, that's all." Luke raised a hand and ran it through his own hair for a moment, glancing down to watch what Loki would do when the girl bent down to speak with him, a slight smile on Luke's lips.
Loki watched the creature walk away, and felt Luke relax next to him. A relaxed Luke meant a more at ease Loki. When the female introduced herself to him, Loki's head tilted to the side slightly before he sniffed at her, satisfied with her scent, he moved towards her slightly. Muzzle opened and that tongue flashed out to gently lick the tip of her nose. He gave the girl a very wolfish grin. |
A giggle escaped Lorraine's lips.It turned into a real laugh when she saw Loki's grin."So you approve of me then Loki?"She stood up,brushing off what dirt she could from the skirts of her dress.It was already covered with splotches of mud,it wouldn't do for the thing to get anymore dirty."So what are you two doing here in the Inn?"The young woman's blue eyes sparkled with curiosity.She wouldn't mind explaining why she was there,although she found the tale embarrassing.

Naru cradled Fisaga in her arms as she moved one step at a time up the staircase, her long dark hair swishing about behind her. She had their room key in one hand and with the other she petted the fox's fur. Upon reaching the landing she spotted her new friend, the wolf she had spent time with earlier, and he was accompanied by a girl. Naru smoothly moved closer, her lips spread in the same small smile she had shared with the creature before, "Hello again Loki. Hello." Fisaga squirmed slightly in her arms as she bowed to them both. Naru had a feeling the kitsune spirit wanted to speak, but was unsure about the girl. He was also eager to change into his humanoid form.
