Victor stood in the center of the hut, holding a single rose. He began singing his famous lullabye.

Ray looked at him and down to the rose she went to reach for it but stopped herself and left her hut ,shifting int a wolf she took off into the woods.

"Dammit!" Victor said.

Hiroshi poked his head in looking at him."....did you really think it be that easy?"

"And I suppose you have a better idea?"

Hiroshi aighed."take your time?"

Victor walked off to find Ray. If he could just talk with her, then maybe they could work out their problems.

Ray had ran far from the vilage,coming to a tope at a lake and shifted back into a human and sa down stateing at the water.

After a while, Victor found Ray by the lake. He walked up to her. "I just want to talk"

Ray looked to him."talk then,weather i lissen or not is unknown",she said looking back to the water.

"Hiroshi told me everything that happend. You being captured and tortured by hunters. I wanted to be there, but I could't. The wolf goddess forbid me from seeing you"

Ray looked at him."i know ....you told me....but its you i thought you would have went amywase",she said looking back to the water.

Victor sat next to her. "Ray, I love you. And I never want to leave your side, ever"

"but you did",Ray said standing

"But not by choice. I was being punished for being a hunter. Why can't you understand that?"

Ray looked at him."i undersyand,but what i dont understand is that you waited all thease years to come back,just because the great spirit told you too,normaly youed break a law to come see me",she said and started walking again.

Victor went after her. "I was worried that if I tried to see you, then great harm would befall your tribe"

"what harm?",she said looking to him."what could have happened ,that didnt already happen with you there to help me protect them"

"Ok. There is nothing I can do to make up what I've done to you. I understand that now. But if I sacrifice something from myself, will you forgive me?"

Ray looed at him."i dont want you to doi that.....",she said looking at him.

"Ray, I can never undersrand how you feel emotlonaly. But I can physicaly. Take out all your anger on me. Do to me what those hunters did to you"

Ray stared at him."no i wont do that",she said looking away.

"Then you leave me with no choice" Victor got on his knees and took off his shirt. He took out a chain and whipped himself five times, one for each year he was away.

Ray stared at him."stop it",she said grabbing the chain from him."dont you see your making it worse!",she yelled angered."this isnt the moveis,not everything is fixed easily,and doing that to yourself is stupid and does torture me on the isode!",she said tears in her eyes and ten headed for the village.

Victor knew that he could never regain Ray's trust. He left, wandering the forrest He cursed the name of the wolf goddess, blaming all of this pain on her. That is when he was approached by a figure in a dark cloak.
