It was warm fall afternoon in the small village of blossom's it was a nice place. right now the elder's were trying to chose a young man. to get married to Maria Clouds to become one of the next brides to be. even if she was still young she would need someone to take care of her. there was only 4 men left and 4 woman left at the plague had killed off a lot of people.
Maria sighs out looking up at the sky wishing that she did not. have to be next in line to force to get married to a man she did not know. the elder's have all ways been strict with the rules for village. but they were caring about the well fair of it's people. |
Something hard and rough was pushing against Joshua's cheeks. His back felt the warmth of the sun. His whole body felt heavy and was aching in pain. Slowly, he peeled his eyes open. He found that he was on the ground. For how long, he did not know. He forced himself up. Surveying his surroundings, he found that he was in a slightly wooded meadow.
"What the......where am I?" His voice was sore from lack of use. Through a bit of a struggle, he stood up. He was wearing a full white outfit, the colour of the heavens. He stretched and loosened up his muscles. Straining his eyes, he searched the land for the village he'd been assigned to. He searched with vision far superior than an average human's, and was able to see for miles and miles away. He'd be assigned to help lead someone to their death, and intended to do so. After spotting the small plague infested village, he released his usually concealed wings and made way there. Normally, humans aren't able to see angels. Only the human they've been assigned to kill can. Moments later, Joshua arrived at the village. [[Sorry if it felt a bit rushed :sweat:]] |
Maria look's around as the elders were about to pick out a man. to be her future husband she thought it was not fair at all. the teen turns around seeing a man with wings on his back he had not been here before. this sacred her a bit was this person here for a reason?
"Maria Ann Clouds you shall be married to Alan Redwood. in 5weeks form now is when your wedding will be. " the elder's tell the young woman and the young man how was 2 years older then the teen. Alan Redwood was one of the biggest jerks in the hole village of blossom. she could not stand him at all he all ways pick on her. yet the hole village thought they would make a cute couple. that is before half of hole village had die in just a few months. ((It is fine.)) |
Joshua landed a couple meters away from the gathering of people. Judging from the look and the girl's face, he knew that she's taken notice of him. He smirked and concealed his wings. Obviously it was odd for anyone to see a man with wings. He stood in silence as he watched the events take place.
"Maria Ann Clouds you shall be married to Alan Redwood. in 5weeks form now is when your wedding will be. " A group of elders seemed to be informing Maria of her fate. She looked distressed as this news was passed onto her. Alan Redwood eh?.... Joshua thought. He surveyed the crowd and saw the face of an older boy light up. He took this too be the Alan Redwood they were talking about. This is funny. He thought. There'd be arranged marriages in this time of day. It's the 21st century isn't it? Even if this village was plague infested...... Couldn't they easily contact a bigger city for help? Joshua continued to stand there, watching the events. |
"I will not marry him I there leave the village then to be his wife!" Maria says to elder's in a upset voice that look mad at them. she then starts to run off not caring if she was breaking a old rule. that there village had for so many years why can't. she chose the person she wants to get married to?,why did the elder's all ways try make them flow there rules of old?
She keeps ruining till going in to a near by woods. sitting down on a stump of old dead tree. tears were forming in her soft violet eyes wishing her parents had not die. form the horrible plague they lived to far away. form any big city's are towns there was only a city 110miles away form here. it would take a month to get there by horse and buggy there village did not use the new fancy things. |
Joshua stared in awe as the girl openly defied the old men, which he took to understand as a respected figure. He looked around, not only were their traditions old, their whole town seemed to be out of date. There seemed to be almost no sign of technology.
"It's as if everything is frozen in time." He said under his breath. The girl, now extremely upset, had then ran away. She headed straight towards him, then ran by into the forest. All the eyes of the villagers had followed her, but they could not see him. He still felt a tinge of awkwardness at the people's stares, even though he knew they were not at him. Walking forward, he reached for one of the villagers. It was a woman, perhaps in her late 40s. With a gentle touch, Joshua reached into her mind and looked into her memories. The woman felt a warm touch on her forehead, but wasn't aware of anything else. Just like that, Joshua had learned the story of this village and the plague. Deciding he'd better do his job quickly, he set off to find the girl known as Maria. |
"I do not want to die yet I wish to live out my life. why can't I fall in love with the right person? if only I could find the right man to be with maybe have a family some day of my own?" she ask her self crying her heart out pulling her legs up to her body. feeling a warm touch but unsure of were it could be coming form it fleet really nice.

Joshua saw the girl crying before him. Her body cowering and trembling as she sobbed. He revealed himself before her, allowing her to see him. With a calm cool voice, he said to her.
"Would you like your wish to be granted." |
Maria looks up with a confused look on her face seeing the man form before. "Um yes I would like my wish to be granted." Maria says in a small voice trying to stop crying so much. she really did miss her mother and father a lot the teen had no siblings. so now they were gone she was a lone in this world so maybe taking his offer would be a good choice?

Joshua smirked at how quickly the girl had replied. She seemed quite a bit naive, something not uncommon in small villages like the one she'd come from.
"Are you sure? Haven't you ever heard of the phrase 'Be careful what you wish for'? Think carefully." He looked at the girl as he waited for her response. She was different than all the other ones he'd help pass on, but then again, they were all different from each other. The girl looked sweet and more or less innocent. Joshua couldn't help but wonder how much the plague had really changed her and how she still seemed to be so pure. |
"Yes I have heard of it before and I don't want get married off to Alan. he is the worst guy in the hole village he has tried to rape me before. why did the elder's pick him to be my husband?" she says in soft voice caring about what could happen. but maybe this wish would help her find the right guy? are even get her out of this village finally?
Maria look up at the man for a few minutes before looking at the ground. "Please grant my wish,I have seen been in so much pain. but I would never hurt a other person are try to kill someone." Maria says to the man how mighty be angel for all she knew. |
Joshua saw hurt and desperation in her eyes as she turned to look at him. He knew she was sure in her decision. His flawless face was emotionless as he spoke.
"Very well, chose your words wisely and I will listen. For this will be the last wish you will ever make." He waited for her to say her wish. |
"I wish to find true love and someday get married,even have kids." Maria says understanding this would be her last wish she would ever have. yet hope the right guy would come a long some time before she dies.

"Then is shall be granted."
With a quick snap of his fingers, he granted her wish. Angels had the ability to manipulate human emotions and release their burden of mind. Without a second of thought, Joshua had leaned down and tilted her head up. He gently kissed her. It was so sudden, he was sure to have confused her. |
Maria was a bit confused but yet kiss him back on the lips softly. she did not know why she had kiss him back for yet it fleet so right to her. after bit she pulls away blushing like crazy could this be a sign of some type? was this man her truelove if so Maria would not mind he look hot en cute at the same time. she still had her arms warp around his neck not letting go.

Maria was now hanging off of his neck. Joshua wrapped his arms around her waist, supporting her and pulling her in closer. Her lips were soft and her caress was gentle. After a while, she pulled away. Flustered, she wasn't able to hold his gaze. Joshua whispered "Then fall in love with me."
He then heard a rustling from behind him. It seemed like they weren't alone. |
She heard the noise as well wondering if it was Alan he was a jealous type. the teen knew that all to well his old girl friend had die do to the plague. so the redwood boy would not let his bride run away form him. "I think I all ready have fallen in love with you." Maria whispered back to Joshua yet stayed by his side praying it was not Alan.
Maria wanted to run away with this man how wanted her to fall in love with him. maybe they could find a town are city to live in? if he wanted her enough maybe he could prove his love to her. like taking her away form this rusty old village? a young lady like her wanted to travel a bit. |
Joshua was still holding on to Maria.
"Come out." He called to the boy who was hiding in the trees behind them. As expected, the boy turned out to be Alan Redwood. Alan's face was red. He stared at Maria. "What's going on here?" For a change, Alan seemed to be able to see Joshua. He didn't find that surprising, since Joshua would have to temporarily be human in order to grant the girl's wish. The air was tense. Alan had never seen Joshua in the village before and had no idea who he was. "Who is this?" Alan asked, rage building up. Joshua waited in silence, seeing how Maria would respond. |
"Alan leave him out of this he's just a traveler. that got lost wile trying to find his way to the city. by the way I'm not going to marry you ever so just stay out of my life." she says to Alan Redwood right now the teen was lining hoping that he would believe they story.
Maria did not let go of the man at all yet maybe she could trust him. more then Alan for right now thinking about all that times. he had tried to rape her,beat her up and try get lock in room with each other. it was all ways his ideas it was never hers something must be wrong with the guy's head. |
Joshua was startled at how confident the girl was. He was pleasantly surprised. He still wouldn't let go of her, in the hopes that Alan understood what really was going on.
How does she expect him to believe her when we're holding on to each other like this? Something in the way she looked at Alan was wrong, as if she had a deep resentment of him. Joshua couldn't help but wonder what had happened between them. He looked back to see that the boy was still there, angrier than ever. "How dare you?! You think I'd believe he's just a traveler when I see you to like this?" He spat out. He gestured at the way the couple was holding onto each other. |
"Alan shut up! I can't stand you just go marry some other girl you Jerk!" Maria says to him in a upset voice she notice he was angry right now. but wanted to Redwood to leave them a lone it was none of his business at all. she stayed by the mans side right now she was sacred of him.

Alan grew aggressive. He pushed his way towards the couple with a murderous look in his eyes. Maria started to tremble in Joshua's arms. Alan's fists were clenched in anger.
"How dare you?!" He repeated as he neared the couple. He raised his fist at Joshua, winding up into a roundhouse punch. With a swift movement, Joshua released Maria and deflected the blow aimed at him. He managed to land one on Alan's face. Shocked and confused from the speed of which it happened, Alan layed speechless and dazed on the ground. His face suddenly contorted in vengeful anger. He got up readying to fight again. |
Maria moves over by a near by tree she did not like when people fight. "Please don't fight! Alan leave him a lone I Love Him!" she says trying to knock some since in to Redwood's head. so he would understand that she would never fall in love with him. so maybe he should just give up all ready before he gets hurt to badly.

Maria called out in protest as the fight continued. She tried to interfere, but it did nothing. Alan still had full intention of hurting Joshua.
"Love him? Hah! I don't care if you do. I just need you to come back to the village so I can have you in a week!" There was no evidence of him backing off. Joshua said in a calm voice. "Stop this, can't you see you're scaring her?" "So what?!" Alan replied in defiance. Knowing that there was no way of changing his heart, Joshua had quickly changed his plans. He ran over to Maria and picked her up bridal style. They'd have to get as far away as possible before they got hurt. With a quick flex, Joshua released his wings and pushed himself into the air. "Hang on." he whispered to Maria. Left behind on the ground was Alan, dumbfounded and unsure of how to react. |
