Phoenix moved with ease through the rather oversize doors that greeted her after she landed. She quickly shifted from her powerful majestic from in to her human form. She grinned as strands of her colored hair fell in her eyes. She loved how random her human form was and her hair was her favorite part of her human form besides not having to worry so much about setting things a blaze when she neared something and turning things to ash if she touched them.
She shifted her eyes as she met the eyes of the little fays who quickly bowed and stepped aside knowing who and what she was. She was one of the younger phoenix's but just as wise and deadly as the others. Though she was one of the few who acted as a mutual friend for both sides of the two courts. She was here on invite from the Unseelie court. She wasn't as foolish as most would believe due to her human appearance she was fully aware of the reason for the invite. She knew that both courts would be trying to get her to side with them so if the other dared to do something they would have her on their side to attack.
If it was her wisdom they sought they would have came to her. For her to be summoned it could only mean a battle is near. Or that is how the courts have worked since she has be around. Only summoning when they needed help in battle and to make a alliance. Though today was a special day since both courts would be together for once. She walked effortlessly through the darken halls giving them light with her own radiant light that seemed to come from her as she moved. She slowly entered the main room and walked to one of the darken corners as the corner brighten by her being there.

The ball was about to start and Miki had only just woken up. She sat coming her long brown hair before tying it up in her usual bunches. Donning a white dress that was fitted and tied behind her neck she looked in the mirror her own green eyes staring back. On her vanity table lay a mask, it was white with glitter on it and covered only her eyes. It was held in place by a small lacing of Fae magic. She left the home she had made and headed to the balls location. Entering it utter silence she looked around the already occupied area.
---
Logan had arrived early and had his katana strapped to his back as he strut about in his oddly elegant old fashioned styled clothing. His air was a relaxing one as he smiled to those whom he could tell were new to the whole experience. He eagerly searched the ball room for ‘new meat’. His mask covered his eyes and went up into two pointed ears. It was black with navy swirls that were only transparent at certain angles of the light hitting its felt surfaces.
A phoenix entered and he chuckled. Most of these creatures were given respect below himself, he had to admit her light was elegant but it was not power nor wisdom he saw in her. She was too young for such respect. He had to admit he would like to see her attempt to turn him into or burn him ablaze. He couldn’t even remember if he was weak to silver anymore it had been too long. It had also been too long since he came to a ball. A few hundred years had passed but of course he still looked fresh and young. She however, was a cookie cut phoenix. Well to an extent. He smiled slightly as she moved close to the place where he was sat observing from the shadows. His canines were elongated but that was from when he had stayed in his wolverine form for too long.

Phoenix shifted her eyes as she caught a glimpse of the arrogant Logan himself in person for once. She stared at him rather unimpressed by the elder. She shifted her eyes as she enjoyed the others that seemed to be gathering happy to know she wouldn't be alone in his presents long. Of course he was handsome and she found her eyes drawn to him or more like his Katana. She didn't respect him as a person personally from the stories she wouldn't waste her time with him he was nothing more than a player out to break hearts. But his skills with his sword she could respect. A grin appeared on her lips as she loved the fact she would never die and at some point most of the ones gathering would. She had already seen her fifty years and that was just a start. of what was to come.
She looked about her seeing if there where any others she could mingle with. It was rather depressing to be there with other immortals at times they could rather stuck up and boring. She rolled her eyes seeing there where none as of yet to enjoy their company other than Logan himself. She closed her eyes as she let out a sigh then moved forward as she approached Logan. She stopped a few feet from him as she gave him a respectful bow. She rose knowing he would not give her the same he was never one to give respect to any he felt were young or inexperienced. She had pondered on how the strange man would interact with any humans who came to the ball.
Her eyes wandered as she stood there before Logan enjoying the slight darkness that tried to creep around the edges of the room. "And how are you today dear Logan?" She said as her eyes cut to him. She knew her appearance was rather frowned upon due to her wild hair and her three star tattoos that ran along her right eye. She personally didn't really care what others had to say about her she would out live most of them any how. Her voice was warm as she gave him a warm smile. The air around her warmed as the light that emanated from her grew a little brighter.

Nikke entered the ball, adorned by a simple black dress and equally simple black mask, simple clothes were her favorites, since she never knew when she would need to change. She was not a fan of the elegant nature of these balls, but she was the Fae liaison of her pack, dealing with both sides of the Fae courts. She did not prefer one over the other, remaining neutral between the two. Both sides liked her for that. She only came to these events to keep the peace.
She looked around to see if anyone she knew was there, other than the Fae. She could see several people who were not of the Fae, but she knew not who they were by name. She mingled into the crowd, easily disappearing into it.

Logan couldn’t help but chuckle at the phoenix, she looked to him and then away without a single word. Had he gained such a bad reputation in his absence? HE shrugged it off until the elegant friendly voice addressed him. HE turned his head to her and smiled back. His smile was gentle and calm not one you would expect for someone of his race and he raised a hand. “Don’t you think I’m a bit old for dear… Juts Logan is fine I not need an endearing title. I myself are fine, although I am surprised you know of me, and im that…spoken of?” showing genuine shock he shrugs it off. “ beyond the point my phoenix acquaintance. What, pray tell, is your name? I am a bit rusty on those whom are still young so feel free to give me a refresher.” He smiled again.
Her hair intrigued him and the tattoo just made him even more intriguing, the icing on the cake so to speak. There was always something so refreshing about the rebellious ones but then a second scent filled his nostrils and he sat up looking about curiosity on his face. He could smell another of his kind and he pulled a face in concern. He was not a pack wolf. He returned his gaze to the phoenix and gave an apologetic smile.

Julia stumbled over her feet and walked unsteadily through the massive doors. She looked from side to side at the crowd of people and meandered her way deep into the throng. She accidentally bumped into fae or other creatures as she sauntered in, but she barely noticed.
About eight hours ago Julia received a message that her human mother was brutally mauled and killed by a rouge bear. The bear had taken off before authorities could put the beast down, but it was too late for her already deceased mother. A rogue bear attack seemed unlikely. It was probably another bear shifter, but why would it kill her mother? Did someone have a vendetta against Julia and was taking it out on her family? Julia didn't know the answer and the more she thought about it the more upset she got. Fearing that her beast would take over if she did not calm down Julia grabbed a bottle of Jim Beam and began to drain a quarter of the bottle over the past many hours. Hopefully if she was too drunk to think she couldn't think of her dead mom.
Julia had made it in costume to the ball, but she had no idea how. The effects of the whiskey were just beginning to ware off, but she was still buzzed and unsteady.
Julia's ankle twisted sideways as she tried to step forward. She uttered a loud "Oomph!" before smashing face first into a blond girl wearing a plain black dress and mask. What made matters worse was that her face had landed squarely in the girls chest.

Nikke walked through the crowd, catching the scents of various species. None of them she minded, well except maybe the vampires, but she wouldn't start a fight here, that would be too dangerous. Sniffing, she could smell another lycan, looking at him she didn't recognize him. That wasn't unusual, she was a part of a pack, but rarely spent much time with them.
As she moved she heard an "Oomph" with a girl landing against her. Her wolf instantly made her growl, her pale blue eyes shifting to a golden color. "What are you doing?" she growled more than asked.
After a few seconds, she gained more control of herself, the smell of alcohol hitting her nose. The girl was drunk, great. She moved the girl off of her and tried to stand her up straight. "You alright?" she asked in her normal voice.

Julia straightened and looked at the girl. A small burp escaped from her lips, her eyes widened, and she swallowed hard. "I think I just swallowed some puke." She mumbled.
She swayed in place and tried to focus her eyes on the girl in front of her. She sniffed the air and watched as the girls eyes turned gold. "I know what you are." Julia whispered to the girl. "You. Are. A. Wolf." And then she started to cry. Fat, warm tears poured from the corners of her blue eyes. "I wish I was a wolf. Wolves don't kill family. Wolves take care of their own..."

Nikke was a little more than a little uncomfortable when the girl started crying. Wolves didn't cry very often, at least not in public. "Yes, I am," she said, discreetly taking a sniff of the girl. "You're a bear, right?" She knew little about were-bears, she tended to keep away from the other were-species.
"There, there," she said, awkwardly patting the girl's head. "What happened?"

Phoenix was about to answer when her attention turned to the bubbling mess before them that was unfolding. She shook her head as she watched the poor girl stumble about. "Poor dear, we must really teach her better. It looks as if we will have our work cut out for us. Drinking ones self into a stupor is never a way to be no mater the reason." She said as she felt sad for Juila. Her eyes then shifted back to Logan as she stared at him for a moment before speaking.
"I am known by many names as so are you. My real name is Rae if thou must know but all who know me well address me as Phoenix and I pray that thee do the same. And as you wish Logan it is. But I am afraid we may need to help the girl before she hurts her self. And yes you are known rather well to the other immortals here." She said as she looked back over at where the other two girls where. She hoped that other girl would be a good mood to comfort and lessen and not attack Julia for her lack of balance and grace this evening. "I do wander if that human mother of hers has something to do with this display. Though it is oddly quite in here." She said as she looked about the room for any clues for the strange hush that had fell up on the room.

Logan watched the display he could see the younger wolf looking uncomfortable and smiled slightly pushing up and strutting over. The phoenix preached about possibly helping but didn’t step up. Once by the weeping girl he glanced at his fellow wolf. He placed a hand on her head and moved close to whisper in her ear. “Now now, this is no place for a display like this, If you need to throw up I can take you outside and give you some privacy, “His eyes flickered to the wolf. “Plus you are making my brethren here uncomfortable…” He straightened up and offered her his hand. He glanced at the younger wolf and gave a brisk nod. He didn’t do this for her or to seem a hero or gentleman. He did so this… were-bear… could have some privacy, and not show her ‘weak side’ to everyone here.

Julia turned her puffy red eyes to the girl. "Sorry about..." She waved her hand in the direction of the girls chest. "...your boobs."
She looked at the man next to her, smiled a half-hearted smile, and sniffled once. "Thanks. I don't think I have to puke anymore. I... uh... swallowed it." She had the grace to blush. "But maybe a little fresh air would be a good idea."
She began to slowly limp towards the heavy doors at the entrance to the ballroom but her ankle throbbed with each step. She twisted it pretty well when she stumbled earlier. Damn! Julia wanted desperately to take these stupid strappy high heels off, but she was coherent enough to know that would not be proper.

Phoenix followed Julia and gently grabbed the girls slender arm and put it around her shoulders and let the girl lean on her. She lead the girl back out the way she had came. Once out side she lead the girl to a small darken garden and helped the girl to a bench. She stared at the girl then looked at the girls ankle and shook her head as she bent down and gently removed the ridiculous shoes. "Why do your kind or humans wear these things they cause so much pain. Lets look at that foot now." She said as she gently held her hand over the girls ankle and stared at it as it became warm she gently placed her hand on the girls ankle and began to rube it as she gently heated the girls muscles to help it relax. She kept quit and let the girl cry or scream even if she needed to as she worked on her foot.

Julia had slowed her crying while she walked out with the phoenix. "Thanks." She said softy. "You know that was my favorite pair of shoes. Ever feel like everything you do turns out wrong? Even my choice of shoes was wrong today."
Once the cool night air breathed across Julia's face she felt just the tiniest bit better. When she sat on the ornate stone bench and the phoenix began rubbing her sore ankle Julia's eyes fluttered closed for just a moment. She was feeling better by increments. The Phoenix didn't push her to talk, she was just a comforting presence. Someone willing to be there to help when they had no obligation to do so. Someone who cared. That thought made the tears well up and spill from the corners of her eyes. She let them quietly roll down her cheeks, chilling her skin where they had touched.
"Thanks for your help. You've done wonders for my ankle." Julia smiled and patted the empty space beside her. "You don't have to keep doing that. Come sit up here so you don't ruin your dress."
"I'm Julia. This is my first time at the ball and I am pretty sure I've blown it for ever getting invited back. What's your name? Do you usually come to the balls?"

Phoenix just looked up at her and grinned then looked at her ankle as she leaned over it a small tear fell from her eye as she thought of a sad memory to summon the tear. She watched as the tear hit the soft flesh and disappeared in it as a small light ran threw the girls body then vanished. She smiled as she put the girls shoes back on then brushed her orange and red dress as she took a set beside the girl." Sounds like you are having one of those days. And yes I have had those. At lest you didn't catch a forest on fire killed numerous rare trees and plants and endanger lives all because you wanted to smell a flower. That is how my days go when I have one of your days. You know it is ok to cry. I know you Julia you may not remember me you played with me once when you where younger as I know your mother and some of your family. You once came to the woods I had taken as my home and use to come and play with me till the night you got lost and hunters came to find you. I left those woods to humans I am fair game and a prize. I doubt you can remember that. Well you could say you made a entrance to the ball. I doubt any will forget it. Some times it is nice to stand out." She said as she gently whipped the girls tears as she fixed the girls hair and grind. "Things will get better. You can only go up once you find the bottom. I am Phoenix though my real name is Rae if you like you may call me that. I only let very few call me my real name."

Opening a door Lucien walked into the Princesses room and stopped. He looked her up and down and smiled. "Come on Ness, we need to get to your ball." Holding out his arm Nessa took it and let him walk her to the ballroom.
Nessa took a deep breath as her and Lucien walked to the door that would lead them out to the thrones in the ballroom, where she would make her entrance. Two guards open the wood doors and let them through. Walking up the stairs Nessa and Lucien stopped in front of the thrones and looked out to all of the guests. Lucien clapped once, very loudly to get everyones attention. When all of her guests looked up they saw Nessa in a beautiful emerald gown with black little flowers scattered over the dress. The top was corset like with long sleeves and had a full skirt. Her blood red hair flowed down in waves to her lower back and had small braids pinned around her head. Her mask was of black lace and covered her eyes. You could see her three toned eyes through the eyes of her mask. She used some Fae magic to hold it on her face so she didn't have to bother holding it or having the string tied around her head. Lucien was wearing a black suit and a shirt that matched Nessa's dress. His mask was just like Nessa's except it was the green of his shirt and not black. Once everyone looked to them Nessa spoke. "Thank you all for coming to my ball. My Aunt the Queen couldn't make it tonight, she had other business to attend to. I hope everyone has a wonderful time, if you wish to explore do so at your own risk. The seethe has its own mind. Thank you." Turning Nessa sat down in her throne and Lucien sat in the consort one by hers. He was her date tonight but not her actual consort. Nessa kept an open posture incase someone wished to come talk to her.

Nikke nodded at the girl as she was led away from her by the strange wolf. She tilted her head his way, curious about who he was, but made no notion or movement to inquire. She wasn't one to approach new wolves. Nikke was glad that he took the poor girl away, she was bad at dealing with such things.
She looked up as a hushed silence came over the room. Clapping was heard, making her look up to the front of the room. She could see the Unseelie Queen's niece enter the room. The girl was pretty, well all of the fae were, unseelie or seelie. She knew that at one point in the evening she would need to talk to her, express her pack's regards. It was her job after all.

Codette entered the ballroom, her red hair flowed gently, wrapping around her, curls bouncing. She stood in the doorway and listened to the lovely Unseelie Princess make her speech. Her eyes darted around the room, surveying and keeping track of the attendants so far, from behind a lovely silver half-faced, hand-held Venetian mask, the left side accented by green and silver feathers. Codette's nature was to want others to want her, so to understand who was near was in her best interests. Although she paid no mind to the man that entered the door behind her.
Syrric's eyes narrowed as he watched the woman infront of him, then the rest of the crowd. As she stood in the doorway, he walked past her and into the very center of the room. Syrric may not have a most welcoming aura but he was curious about the situation. He had heard about faerie balls but this was the first one he had attended. Kelpies weren't usually welcomed. He adjusted his simple Zorro-esque mask to sit properly, as he wandered.

Renzo walked into the large ballroom, looking around calmly. He had assumed he would be late but there was still a handful of people, including himself, who were arriving. It had taken him quite a while to find a costume and mask for the masquerade since he had finally decided to go at the last second. At any other time, he would have wholeheartedly avoided the ball since he advocated neutrality between the Seelie and Unseelie. But due to certain events a few nights ago...
No.
The blue-haired Seelie shook those thoughts away. Now was not the time to mourn. He needed answers. And what better way to get those answers than by going straight to the top of the Unseelie food chain? Or at least as high as he could reach at the moment.
Renzo looked up past the crowd and straight at the throne where the Unseelie Princess sat. He was glad to have chosen a mask that hid his eyes behind shaded eye holes. It made it easier to scan the room without looking suspicious. Yet, he didn't want to take any chances and quickly averted his eyes after only a few moments. He needed to think of a way to speak with the princess privately.
After another moment, he finally stepped into the colorful crowd, blending in perfectly with his midnight blue trench coat lined with silver thread at the ends of his sleeves and at the hem. Underneath that he wore a simple yet elegant black tuxedo, but it was barely visible since he buttoned up the jacket all the way up the first two buttons, allowing his bowtie to peek through. His pure white mask contrasted with his attire and dark blue hair, covering the outline of his eye sockets as well as his clear blue eyes.
Renzo was still somewhat lost in thought as he moved through the crowd until he suddenly bumped shoulders with another person, pushing him back to reality. "I'm sorry." He apologized, spinning around to come face-to-face with a brown-haired girl in pigtails wearing a white mask as well. That's when he felt her aura and realized they did not just share the same taste in masks. He smiled softly. "I hope this doesn't seem rude, but are you a Seelie?" He asked quietly as to not draw attention on them.

Leaning back on her throne Nessa looked out and watched more of her guests come in through the door. It was interesting to watch who all showed up and who they talked to first. Sitting up straight Nessa turned and looked at Lucien. "Come on love let's go mingle."
Standing up Lucien helped Nessa to her feet and gave her his arm to hold onto. Making their way down the steps they entered the crowd and began greeting people.
When they got to the center of the room Nessa noticed a darker aura and from it she could tell he was of the Kelpie nature. Walking over to him Nessa and Lucien stopped infront of him. "Hello, if I remember correctly your name is Syrric?" Nessa had only invited one kelpie so the name was easier to remember.

Logan chuckled slightly and saw her move to help. He would nod after the phoenix. “I’ll let you handle this one.” He turned his attention to the young Lycan beside him and smiled. “Are you okay? You didn’t seem all that fine a second ago. Oh and don’t worry about her if you are thinking about doing that… I trust the phoenix will take good care of her.” He led her away from the doorway and to a chair. “I am Logan, an Elder. I am always happy for company.” With this he took his seat again propping his katana up against him. He could tell she was like him not one to usually reach out but he would be there if she wanted someone to talk to.
---
Miki had been daydreaming when someone bumped into her and asked her if she was a seelie. She felt her face flush, was it that obvious, his aura seemed to say he was most likely the same. She gave a brisk nod and sigh slightly before saying quietly. “As are you, right?” She examined his blue hair and mask and gave a gentle smile. “My name is Miki, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” It apparently took her a while to remember herself and her manners but she was fine now the bump having barely knocked her at all. “Why…are you here?” She knew it would be rare for a Seelie to be here but she was here right, however Miki had her reasons. As she had her reasons for choosing light clothing in such a dark area.

Nikke was surprised to find the other lycan to be an elder, she had never encountered one before. "I'm alright, sorry about my behavior before, my wolf can be jumpy at these sort of events," she explained, acting more polite than normal. She knew that he was stronger than he, he was an elder after all. Her survival instinct told her to be careful.
She took a look around the room, checking on the princess. Had she not already been talking to someone, Nikke would have approached her, but she would have to hold off until later. She sat in a seat near his, in such a way she could see the room. "My name is Nikke," she said, remembering that she had not introduced herself yet.

"I am Lorenzo, but just call me Renzo." The blue-haired Seelie replied, looking over the girl and her white dress. She did stick out like a sore thumb, but in a graceful way. And her hesitation just added to her cuteness. But all those thoughts disappeared when he heard Miki's question. His charming smile faltered a bit as he remembered that night.
"I... need to talk to the Princess." He replied, bringing himself back. He made a quick glance to the throne once more to see if she was there. But sadly, she was not. Renzo wanted to scan the crowd, but he didn't want to be rude to Miki. He had started a conversation and until it was finished she would get his undivided attention. It was the gentlemanly thing to do of course.
