OPEN! POST AWAY! ---------- The sun was beginning to set and the night animals began to chirp in chorus. Melissa was sitting by the lake. There was a small lake behind her house. She'd always go there to read. Like now. She was sitting on the swing, hung up by an old, sturdy tree, flipping through pages of a book. 'Melissa!' Melissa's head snapped up by the sound of someone calling her. She looked around confused. No one was there. Shaking it off she stood. It wouldn't be the first time sometimes creepy had happened to her. It'd been happening a lot lately though. Most of her dreams were of images and things she didn't remember, but it felt like she was there. Shaking the possible off, she folded the corner of her book and made her way towards the house. Over a small hill and straight to the back porch. It was almost time for the masquerade anyway. She opened the door and then the screen door. Once inside, Mellissa locked them behind her. She headed upstairs, hearing her mother clinging around. Sometimes she came home to work on her work. It wasn't long for her mom to be on the phone. Rolling her eyes, she stopped at the landing. Turning to the first door. It was her room. Melissa pushed the door open and flicked the light switch on. Light flooded through her room. Normally she'd just let the moon light light her way through her room but the moon wasn't high enough for that yet. Already on her bed was what she was going to wear. It had taken her forever to find what she wanted or liked and when she finally did she had slowly peiced together this set. Melissa took a quick shower and dried herself. First was undergarments and then she pulled on the purple dress. It was an old styled dress with a modern type look. She ventured out to ask her mother to lace it up in the back and tie it. Thankfully her mother did, while she talked on the phone. She silently thanked her mother when she was done and left, her bare feet padding softly against the cold floor. Next came the heals and then she did her hair. She pulled back some long strips of her hair to create a half ponytail, though she left her bangs where they were. Using gold hair pins she pinned the chunk of wavy brown hair in the back of her head. Next came the mask. She didn't like make-up, though she planned on putting some lip gloss on. Melissa was putting on some pink lip gloss when her mother came in holding a pendant. She handed it to her, still on the phone mouthed 'it's yours' and walked away. Weird.... And then she saw flashes of images. But they overlapped and it was hard to differenciate what was going on. But she knew that someone had been running and then they were on the floor. The images reminded her of her family lore. A family member in the victorian or elizabethan era, either one, had gone out one night and never came back. They found her in an alley way with her throat ripped open savagely and all her blood drained. Had this been the pendant they found perfectly fine around her neck? Shivering at the thought Melissa examined the pendant. Deciding it was harmless and would look fine with her dress she put that on too. She was ready for the Masquerade... |
"Man, this sucks!"
Another pair of shoes was already tossed into the pile of the tried and discarded. Green eyes quickly searched the nearby shelf for another pair of heels. Nicole had already been through 26 pairs of shoes in the last hour and yet she still hadn't found one that suited her taste. Money wasn't an issue for the girl. She had lived for half a century after all, and managed to accumulate a decent fortune in that time. It was just that she could not find any of the shoes in this boutique appealing at all. So why was a werewolf who loved dark, edgy, punk fashion in a high-class shoe store in the first place? Well... One week ago: "I'll pass.", was Nicole's definite answer to her fellow pack member's answer. She returned her attention to the magazine in her lap and flipped the page. "But it'll be fun.", was the red head's reply. This she-wolf was only a few years older than Nikki in appearance but that only meant she already had more than two centuries under her belt. "And there'll be boys~...You know, food?" Nicole looked back at her with a scowl, then to the male pack member beside her. "Yeah, I'm going too." he said. "But it's not like I have a choice-ow!" The young werewolf had been interrupted by a jab to his rib. His ginger mate had forced him to come with her to the masquerade. She loved the fashionable dances ever since she was human and spends most of her free time looking for and going to such gala events. "Pleeeeaaaasssse! We're moving out next week to a new hunting ground and everyone else's busy. You know the boss won't let us play with our food until the pack's been fed first and who knows when we'll be in another city that's having a masquerade party." The red headed werewolf sat down by Nicole's feet and placed her head on the green haired girl's lap. "Please, please, please, please, pretty pleeeaase! We really need someone to keep an eye out for us.", she begged, her face as sad and cute as she could make it. Nicole sighed with exasperation and placed her fingers to the bridge of her nose. "All right! All right! I'll go. But don't expect me to like it though." However, the last part of her sentence was drowned out by the screams of glee her fellow lycan emitted as she jumped up and down then into the arms of her mate. With another sigh, Nikki continued reading her magazine. 'Hate those stupid dresses.', she thought. And now here she was, in a stupid dress herself. She had her mask on her head, her hair still tainted green. After trying on two more shoes, Nicole finally spotted a pair whose style she felt satisfied with. After paying for them at the counter, she got into her car and made her way to where the masked ball would supposedly be. |
Bright blue eyes rang across the dancefloor, stopping slightly on several Human males whispering in the corner next to a table full of refreshments. A small coy smile replaced the frown that permently sat on Illiana's almost childlike features. She readjusted the mask she wore and hitched the ribbon higher on her head and pulled the purple Dress that clung to her body down to show her cleavege. The dress was not overly flashy, not like some of the people at the ball, but flashy enough to attract attention and as Illiana began to walk towards the males she couldn't help but think, I do work better with attention. And she could feel the attention she was recieving, all eyes crossed to her as she pushed past people on the dancefloor, giggling and laughing behind their own masks. "Hey gorgeous!" Illiana smiled and bowed her head, "Hi." Her eyes met those of a tall male with dark brown hair and striking blue eyes, almost like her own but not quite the same colour, they didn't have the same affect on her as hers did on him. She could hear the hard thudding if his heart and he stretched out a hand and took hers, "Care for a dance?" Illiana nodded, feining innocence all to well, and took his hand lightly in her own.
She parted her lips as she felt him pull her closer towards him, his hand resting lightly on her hip, she could feel his heartbeat in his palm and she licked her lips slightly, "So what's your name?" Her voice rang high on the end tone and she tilted her head slightly. She always was a good actress, much more than her family had recognised before 'He' walked into their lives. Smiling again she watched his eyes flash to her chest and than back to her face, knowing exactly what was on his mind, To bad you don't know what's on mine. "Alex." She looked down, almost bashful and giggled slightly as they turned sharply and began to make their way outside towards the large garden that was attached to the ballroom, "Alex. Well my name is Illiana." She looked to her left and caught sight of a large bush and she coudn't help but smile. This place was making it easier and easier for her tonight, much to careless for Humans! She looked back to the man and watched him nod as she felt her canines grow larger, the more the entered the darkness of the unlit garden. "I'm hungry Alex." A single growl escaped her lips and she watched him look to her, first with confusion and than as the feeling of danger grew in the air, to horror as he stared at the lage teeth that showed as she smiled hugely. A single scream broke the silence of the air and the crushing of bones and the squelshing of blood could be heard for a mere second as Illiana's eyes turned blood-red and her lips attaced themselves to Alex's neck.... ............................................. Illiana readjusted herself and fixed her almost short hair again as she walked away from the pooling blood that circled her feet, licking her lips as a counter measure in case any still showed on her lips. Smiling huge her eyes retreated to their normal blue, but this time they shone brighter and more vibrant than before. Wiping under her eye at the slowly smudging makeup under her mask and reapplying the bright red lipstick on her still smiling lips. Taking her place again at the entrance she waited to see who else would arrive. Now that she was fed and happy the party really could begin...... |
Riding in a taxi was horrible. Disgusting. So disgusting that even when she saw a taxi drive up she continued to walk. Maybe it sucked to walk in the dark all the way to the center of the town from the far east side. Maybe it was scary to walk all by herself at dark with her creative mind. Even with a creative mind, she could also be quite clueless. Signs were normal skipped over with her. After a really long walk, she stopped in a shop near the place where the Masquerade was being held and made sure she looked okay. She fixed herself up a little, though honestly all she planned to do was stand in a corner all by herself and watch couples dance.... Okay so that was torturing herself a little, but honestly those couples were naive. Love didn't exist. Only hurt and pretend love. With a sigh she retreated out of the shop and towards the castle like structure once again.
It was a big place, with a garden and most likely a lake too, just like her home. There were towers and such. She planned on exploring the beautiful place. Was that bad? Oh well, if she was caught what was the worst that could happen? They make her leave? Whatever. She had no idea that not everyone here were humans.... Melissa made it to the entrance way and stepped into the hall. There were a few standing here and talking. But she climbed the stairs carefully and then stopped at the top to look out to everyone. She saw that most people were enjoying them self. She smiled lightly and shrugged. She began to climb down the stairs, a few others ahead of her. Good. She didn't want to make a big entrance. She didn't need all the stares. She stopped however when she caught a purple dress. She looked over at it and blushed. That was.... her dress! She bit her lip and paused, thinking about turning back around and go home to save herself humiliation. Sure she'd seen double already and it wasn't like she really cared all that much. She just didn't know if the other girl would care or what. Deciding to brave it she continued down the stairs and stopped at the bottom. Melissa looked around trying to avoid the other girl, she didn't want to know if she was staring at her or not. Especially since she thought the other girl pulled it off better than she did.... But was that just her self-consciousness? |
Illiana put a hand to her head as her eyes crossed the room when seeral new heartbeats entered and her eyes landed on a pretty little thing standing akwary in the doorway. Her purple dress matched perfectly and Illiana raised and eyebrow and could feel a smile cross her features, a none to kind smile at that. For a brief second her vision urned red, how dare this human wear the same dress? Fixing her features into a kind smile seh began to walk closer to the girl still standing awkwardly off to the side. "Hi. I couldn't help but notice we have the same dress." she could feel her canines beginning to grow and her eyes change, more out of anger than thirst, and forced herself to calm down. She was not going to lose it in front of everyone. Killin in private was one hy b in public.......The council would have her head on a stake! Tilting her head slightly several grissly images popped into her head, all ending the same for the girl. "Im Illiana by the way." if she wasn't goin to eat her nor kill her she might as well be nice to her
|
Melissa grimaced when she could perfectly see the girl, who wore the same dress as her, come towards her. She really hoped she was nice. She was pretty, really pretty. But being pretty never guarenteed being nice did it? No. She knew many girls who were extremely gorgeous, none her type, and knew how to be a total bi-tch. She smiled nervously at the girl. All she could think about was wishing this girl was nice. And then there it was. The first thing out of the girls mouth was hi and then about the dress. Melissa was trying to think of something to say, something that wouldn't sound like she was nervous and scaredish but something that was nice too. For a second she could swear the girls eyes began to change color. But she knew several other individuals who had that too, so she decided to disregard it.
Melissa took a deep breath in and smiled at the girl, her green eyes examining her face, trying to read anything that would tell her what this girl was thinking. She got nothing. "Hello. My name is Melissa." She replied, deciding to disregard the dress thing. Better to not say anything than say something and have it come out all wrong. She held out her hand towards the girl to shake her hand. Why was she so nervous? |
Illiana smiled even larger as she took the girl named Melissa thtly in her own, she could feelthe rapid heartbeat and could almost smeel her fear. No that she really wanted Melissa to be scared, but it was funny to see how net ous humans could be at the wrong times. "A pleasure to meet you Melissa." at that one poin she was glad she was as good an actress as she was, she could tell Melissa was checking her out, seeing if she was a threat or a friend, and being as nice as was most would think they were friends who decided to wearthe same out of friendship and not mere bad fortune on melissas's part.
The girl was pretty, she would give her that, and she had an almost sweet sent that Illiana didn't normall cross. She could sense somehng se within Melissa, something of he own world, but she couldn't quite pick what it was. At that point it could be anything, werewolf, like her cousin Jason, vampire like herself or even the rare Fallen Angel or Deamon from hell. She would just have to keep a close eye on this new girl, she could mean trouble |
Melissa nodded and took her hand back. She clasped her hands in the front of her, letting them lay against the fabric of the dress. She bit her lip and looked around, wondering what next. She decided she'd go exploring now. She looked back at Illiana. "Escuse me. It was nice meeting you." She told her gently and began to walk off towards what looked like a door that would lead out of the ballroom and into the house. She'd look outside later. She wanted to check out the inside first now. This place had so many different stories about all the different history things that happened around this small little town that went back to almost the beginning to time. She knew because her family had stayed here for all their lives when they had came here from England. She touched her pendant lightly and forced herself not to look back. It took all she had not to react so dramatically at the images she saw when she touched the pendant. She moved her hand away quickly and shook her head. Blood and running were all she could really make out.
Now Melissa had reached the door. She opened it just a crack and slid through it and into a hall barely lit. She looked around and turned right, walking down that way. She looked at the paintings along the wall. Old pictures of people she didn't know. |
Rainer looked out the window as he drove down the highway towards new city. A new city meant new people, new adventures, and hopefully a permanent home. He had to leave his old home when he was found by vampire hunters. He managed to kill two of them, but there were four in total. They were getting smarter. A new thing that they had been doing was going after him in broad daylight in public area for example. The town that he was in prior to this one was a famous movie shooting location so the locals were used to seeing random fights breaking out among the people since it was more likely than anything that there was a camera nearby. He grimaced as he gripped the steering wheel so he could turn off of the highway to get to the city. One of the hunters had burned his arm, and hurt like something fierce.
Parking his car at a nearby motel he made sure that the crescent moon necklace was still around his neck. His loft above the bookstore that he owned still wouldn’t be ready for another few days, so until then he was going to have live in the motel. Walking into the motel he looked at the clerk and said,” Excuse me, but I was wondering if I could make a room reservation for 3 days.” The clerk looked at him and said,” Yes, we have a few singles left over.” The clerk went over and grabbed the key.“Busy we are, people are arriving for the masquerade ball from all over the country. We’re famous for our masquerades you know.” Taking the key from the clerk Rainer said,” Thanks for the both room, and the information. I might go to it.” “Well then you best get yourself something to wear, it is tonight after all.” “I will be sure to do that,” replied Rainer as he leaving the foyer to go to his room. Once in his room he deposited his belongings on the bed. “A masquerade huh?” thought Rainer. “Now what should I wear?” Opening one of the trunks of clothing he riffled through them until his eyes fell upon one of his old suits. Deciding that that was what he was going to wear he dressed in that quickly, and left to go find a suitable mask. In town he found a store called Arcana’s Secret. Walking into the store he went to the back where the masks were kept and picked up a white mask with a black stylized hat. It looked perfect. Going to the cash register the clerk looked at him and said,” Will that be all, sir?” “Yes,” replied Rainer as he gave over the appropriate amount of money. “Are you heading to the masquerade ball tonight?” Rainer nodded. “Then you best be off, it’s a decent drive to get there. It’s at the manor on top of the hill.” Rainer nodded his head as he left, got into his car and drove the distance to the manor. Once there he parked his car, and waited to be ushered in by another one of the party goers. He was a vampire after all, and that meant that to gain access to a house or building he needed permission. As he walked around the club he noticed that there were two girls there in the same dress. There was something odd about…well both of them. One of them was of his kind, and the other seemed to be of his kind, he wasn’t sure though. Whether or not there was something special about the other girl. He needed to keep an eye on her. He saw the one with brown hair leave through one of the doors, and into another hallway. Deciding he wanted to know more about the girl with the brown hair he left through the same door that she had gone through. He saw her walking down the hallway looking at the various pictures. Rainer glanced at some of them, they were really odd pictures. ((How did you guys hyperlink your images?)) |

"What the hell?" Because Nicole had only ever been to one ball before, and a boring one at that, she had come to judge every ball after that as boring, pointless, and not worth her time, masked or not. But this was new. The entire place was filled and buzzing, not like a stuffy dance at all. Sure everybody was wearing fancy clothes, and perhaps some were doing a short waltz or slow dancing here and there, but the energy was more like a club. It made her start to believe that maybe, just maybe, she might enjoy herself. But first thing's first. She had to find her two pack members. Emerald eyes scanned the great ballroom from the top of the stairs, searching for a vivacious redhead and her loyal auburn haired lover. Unfortunately there were more than a dozen girls with scarlet flaming hair and who knows how many boys had a brown mane? It was just her luck that Firecracker had never told her what costumes they would be wearing. Since Nikki was still looking for her shoes, the pair of love-birds have decided to go on ahead after leaving driving instructions to the manor. The fact that everybody wore masks didn't help things at all. Eventually, Nicole decided to try and call her friends. The werewolf searched her purse, stepping aside a little to let a girl in a purple dress pass by. Finally she found the small hand held device and flipped it open. To her dismay, both the signal and the batteries were low. "Great....", she sighed, returning it to her purse. She barely noticed when a man in a white mask brushed past her, being too occupied with trying to locate her friends. What was the point in asking her to be a spotter for them if they weren't even gonna stay in her sight? Sure werewolves could heal quickly from severe injuries and could acquire more fighting experience than a normal human's lifespan would allow, but beyond that there wasn't much else. Their strength often lay in their numbers and they were better off in wolf form. They would be faster, more agile, have a wolf's keen senses and razor sharp teeth. Plus they could easily communicate with each other without the need for cellphones. For a moment, Nicole considered shifting into her lycan self. However, doing so would be a pain. Literally. Instead, she descended into the crowd and decided to search the old fashioned way, one masked face at a time. |
Illiana froze after watching Melissa leave through the door opposite them, a boy following shortly after her. A sent wafted towards her and a snarl erupted in her chest, I swear, I see one Werewolf I'm going to scream! Usually she didn't mind the four pawed pests but that night she really was not in the mood for a fight, and she knew if she saw one there would be a fight. Storming off in the opposite direction she felt her lips curl back slightly as the scent got stronger and she pushed past a few guests on her way outside.
"Shit! Sorry I didn't......." She bumped into a girl wearing a green dress with a green mask and her whole body froze, cutting her sentance mid-way. "Hmm, whats your kind doing here?" She couldn't help but be rude to the girl, she could smell the earthy scent of the Werewolf coming off her skin in waves, hitting her full force, "Last time I checked the pound was down the road." She smiled sweetly and couldn't help but put a hand to her hip in annoyance. {Wow Illiana! Calm down! Sorry Minty she's being very rude!!!!} |
[:XD I got the feeling she'd be. And I'll also have to apologize for Nicole in advance. ]
"Excuse me?!", the green clad werewolf snapped back. At first she thought it was just some rude little human who mistook her for another girl and was trying to pick a fight. Now that she had gotten a closer look, it was actually a rude little leech that was getting on her nerves. "I'd like to ask you the same thing. Didn't think they'd let parasites in this place. Are those teeth part of your costume? They look very plastic. Matches your skin." Honestly, Nicole avoided confronting vampires she came across. Especially if she was alone. But this girl was asking for it. She didn't even do anything to the vampiress and was getting this treatment. Nicole looked around to see if anyone else was watching before returning her cold emerald eyes to the blood-sucker before her. Hopefully there were some council members hidden amongst the masquerade attendees. A plus side to being a werewolf was that she didn't have to listen to the vampire council. But if there were any hunters, they would take her down along with the vamp if they found out they weren't human. "Tch. I don't have time to deal with this.", the werewolf said before moving past the girl, purposefully bumping her shoulder. Nicole had more important things to do right now than worry about some snobby brat. |
{LOL no it's okay let Nicole be as rude as she wants! Illiana deserves it right now!}
Illiana smiled as the girl ranted away and stuck out an elbow as she bumped her way past, "Just so you know there arn't any here. Council members I mean." The way the girl looked around Illiana could almost sense she was looking for someone. Taking a stab at what was always the best idea for her since most Werewolves looked for Vampire Council members whenever they crossed paths. She smiled hugly, showing her teeth. "Trust me I have already checked, if they were here I wouldn't have been able to have my little snack before you arrived!" She tilted her head to the side, "Looking for someone? I might have seen them?" She licked her lips slightly, she was secretly praying she hadn't eaten the Werewolves friend, as much as she pretended, she did't really want to fight with the girl, no matter what her race. |
"Hah! If you're trying to convince me that you ate one of them then it's not working. I doubt you could take either of them on." Nicole kept on walking past people in gowns and people in suits. Although she tried to ignore the fact that the girl in the purple mask was still looking to her, she couldn't help feel annoyed. "And what do I care about your stupid council?!", she added, before climbing a staircase to her left that led away from the ballroom and to the house's second floor. Hopefully she would be able to spot them if she was on higher ground once more.
Unfortunately, after she leaned over the railing the first thing she saw in the sea of people was the vampiress from earlier. Too bad her werewolf instincts often forced her to spot marked enemies as well as marked prey. "Hmph!" After banging her fist on the decorated railing, Nicole turned away to face the wall behind her. With a growl, the young lycan swiped someone else's beer off a nearby table and nonchalantly drank from it despite the owner's protest. [We might have to stop soon to let the others post. What do you think? :)] |
{Yeah sure if you want XD}
Illiana smiled again, "I dont doubt I couldn't but I was merely asking. I wasn't saying I ate them, merely insinuating I had seen them." Catching up to the Lycan she leant on the staircase bottom against the wall as the emerald eyes scanned the crowed, "Didn't find them?" She giggled slightly as the Lycan stormed past her towards the bar. She wasn't trying to be annoying but it certainly was fun at that point, why not have a little fun at a party? Gesturing to the barman for a red wine she pulled a small vial of crimson liquid and poured it into the wine when the barman turned his back to her. Winealways did taste much sweeter with a little dash of Humans most priced comodity, even if they didn't know it themselves. {grrr shortness." She's so rude!!!!} |
Rainer grunted a little as his urge for human blood was singing in his ears. Tearing his eyes off of the human in front of him Rainer went walking the other way to look at the pictures there. Deciding that they were boring like the rest of them, he went through the door that he had originally come through. Once in the room with the party he could feel the tension in the air. Deciding that he didn’t want any form of confrontation in his weakened state he stood off to the side and watched the vampire in the purple dress, the same one that the human and her shared, and someone in a green dress talk it out. Rainer didn’t know if it was going to turn into blows soon, so he patiently watched. He didn’t really hear what was going on, but he knew that he the vampire in purple had struck a nerve when the other one left, drank someone else’s beer from the bar, and then went stalking up the stairs to the second level of the house. Walking over to the bar he ordered rum and a coke. He drank it as he had his back turned to the bar so he could take a survey of the people that were dancing. He really needed to drink soon, or he would pass out, and there was no way that he was going to let that happen especially in front of another vampire, a strong one at that.
|
Illiana smiled as she sensed another Vampire standing next to her, "Hey gorgeous." She shifted slightly until she was leaning on her side with the glass of wine held in one hand. She could see the thirst in the male's eyes, the way his gaze kept fixing on different Humans, most girls. She offered her drink with a coy smile, "It looks like you need this more than I do Brother."
{grrr shortness!} |
Rainer continued to scan the gathering of humans being blatantly oblivious that there was another vampire next to him. He didn’t acknowledge her until she turned to him and said," Hey gorgeous.”Turning towards her Rainer gave her a pointed, annoyed look as he said,” Can I help you?” Rainer was not in the mood. He was pissed, he was tired, and he was hungry. Before Rainer could say anything else in retaliation the other vampire continued and said,” It looks like you need this more than I do Brother." Rainer glanced down at the glass that she was holding. How could he not have noticed the scent of blood that was lingering with the scent of fermented grapes? Was his really losing that much of his edge? Clearing his throat Rainer looked at the other vampire and said,” My apologies, my lady. Thank you very much.” Rainer took the glass of wine from her and took a sip. Breathing in he could feel his dormant vampiric senses coming back to life. He took another swig of it, and handed it back to her. “Finish the rest of it. Thanks for what you gave me though, but I prefer my blood fresh.” He scanned the crowd again looking for another victim. “By the way, my name is Rainer,” said Rainer as he turned to her again as he extended his hand in greeting. “Might I ask what your name is?”

Illiana smiled, she knew what he was talking about, blood had to e fresh and still warm for it to fully take the egde off but mixed with somethiung alcoholic it could still work miracles. "Illiana Alexandra Collins." She bowed slightly, "At your service My Lord." She tilted her head to the side, "What's your last name? Your name sounds strangly familiar." SHe took the wine back and downed the last of it in one gulp, "I'm glad I could help." She looked around, "If you want I could help you find a source of food?" Of course she could, she was made to hunt! With her looks and acting she was able to get even Females to follow her to their deaths.

Sindora continued to glance around at the people around him until he heard the female vampire say,"Illiana Alexandra Collins, at your service My Lord. What's your last name? Your name sounds strangely familiar." Rainer bit his lip as he thought,” Why should I tell her of my lineage? Sure I am from the great Strenowa family, but I mean it is only fair that I tell her my last name as well.” Rainer cleared his throat as he looked at her and said,” My last name is Strenowa.” Rainer handed her glass, and he watched her down the rest of it. After that she said," I'm glad I could help. If you want I could help you find a source of food?" Sindora thought for a moment before he responded with,” No, thanks for the offer though. I prefer to hunt alone. By the way who was your ‘furry’ friend? You know the one that you were fighting with. We don’t get many werewolves here, right?”
|
Illiana smiled, just as she thought. Now that she had heard his last name she could tell that he was Strenowan, his Great Grandfather by the looks of Rainer's age, was one of the high Council Members if she remembered her history correctly. Illiana nodded, "By the way who was your ‘furry’ friend?" Illiana clenched her teth together, "Just a pest that I would rather be taken care of." She flicked a stray strand of hair out of her eyes and pushed her mask higher on her head, "not nicely mind you! I'd prefer blood and guts galore." She sniffed, she could still smell the Lycan, a disgusting earthy sent, but it was now mixed with the familair scent of the male Vampire standing next to her. "But than again, I would have to smell her blood all over the joint. not pleasent."
She moved slightly closer to Rainer, "But how abut we not think about the dogs?" She put the glass back on the bar and gestured for another one, good thing alcohol didn't affect Vampires or she would be passed out by now with the drinks she had been scoffing down the past couple of hours, "Your family is quite high up on the social ladder last time I checked. What's it like being part of one of the most influential families in the Vampire world?" |
"Just a pest that I would rather be taken care of." Rainer nodded at this. “Fair enough,” he responded. She moved slightly closer to Rainer. Rainer took a hesitant step to his right farther away from the other vampire. She might have been his own kind, but that gave her no right to be so friendly with him on a first meeting. She continued on as her silky voice said,” Your family is quite high up on the social ladder last time I checked. What's it like being part of one of the most influential families in the Vampire world?" Rainer rolled his eyes how could he have forgotten. There were very few vampires that didn’t know the Stenowa family name. For god’s sake they were one of the 10 founding families of the council, his great grandfather was one of the, and still is, one of the council members. Rainer never really thought about it. He didn’t like politics, and he didn’t like the overbearing rule of his father either. He still felt like an outcast even though he had been part of the family for over 300 years. “Well,” started Rainer. “To be honest, no one has asked me that. I haven’t had contact with the main branch of the family for over 50 years. I don’t believe in some of the things that are happening now, and I would much rather live out my life in peace. I don’t want to get dragged into land wars and politics; they bore me. Besides, I am never going back. Someone will have to drag me back before I go there willingly.”

Illiana nodded, "Uhuh. So you don't like your family?" She took a step back from him, she could sense his hesitation and sudden uncomfort. Nodding again she swirled the new drink in her hand, looking deeply into the red drink, "I know how you feel about family and politics. Personally, I kind of don't lik your family, not you in particular but your family in general." After all it was Rainer's Grandfather that let her Father live. If she had it her way she'd kill him right than and there, but than sh would get in quite alot of trouble. As far as Illiana knew Vampires weren't allowed to use Humans as, what they called, refrigeraters, a mere source of blood, nothing more.
