Micky looked down at the small piece of plastic that would determine her fate. She hadn't realized it, but she was holding her breath. Thirty more seconds. She closed her eyes and counted them down, sitting crosslegged up against the bathroom door. Thirty- Twenty nine- Twenty eight... What if its posative? What if its negative? What if I can't tell what it is? her thoughts spun around in her head. She could no longer deny not being pregnant, but she still wasn't sure, so she'd decided to take a test. Ten- Nine- Eight- Seven... She still wasn't breathing. Three- Two- One... Micky opened her eyes and looked down to the test with a hopeful stare.....
... Waking up to the loud beeping of her cheap alarm clock, Micky rubbed her eyes and sat up. She didn't want to go to school. She didn't want to have to see her mom. She didn't want to see him. She wanted to stay in bed forever and sleep for the rest of her life where she could always dream and never face the reality of the outside world. It seemed like a great plan- at first. Then she remembered that it would be impossible. She sighed and swung her legs over the side of her bed, moving to stand up and pick something out to wear. She pulled out a pair of black capris and a hot pink tank top to go with her short hot pink hair. She swallowed hard getting dressed, willing herself not to look at her abdomen. As she grabbed her bag and made her way to her car, she pulled out her cell phone before starting it up. She quickly dialed his number, knowing it from memory, and rubbed her temple as it rang. |
Jake was asleep and dreaming until he heard a ring, he jumped slightly and looked at the phone as it rang "i wonder who it possibly could be" he sighed as he picked it up and shifted in his bed slightly "hello? Jake speaking" he said as he sat up and got out of his bed, he started to get changed and he waited for a reply

Micky had just turned the radio on when Jake answered. "Hey, its Micky." She smiled a bit from beneath her hair. "I-... Uh... Good morning." She greeted. She had to tell him. Not over the phone, though... She frowned. She was silent for a while, then started talking again. "Sorry if I woke you up." She laughed a bit, "I... I guess I just called to say 'See you later'." She sighed. He's going to hate me... He's going to hate me forever... As she waited for his reply, she started her car and turned the radio on low so she could hear him. Jake.

Jake smiled when he heard Micky's voice "Micky, how are you?" he asked as he finished geting his top on and started to get his trousers on "its ok, i needed to wake up anyway" he said as he got his trousers on, Jake chuckled a bit "shall we meet up at school?" he asked as he threw his bag on and started to walk out the door "oh... ok then, see you later then" he said as his happiness faded and he was silent

As Jake said goodbye, so did Micky. "Yeah... See you." She said, trying to sound a bit peppy, so not to worry him. When she hung up the phone, she just stared at it awhile. He really is going to hate me... She shook her head to clear her mind and backed the car out of the driveway. On her way to school, she dropped by a Wendy's and got herself a medium fry and a large, plain, hamburger. She smiled as she munched on the fries. At least some things in life could never get old. When she pulled into the school, she grabbed her bag and started walking towards the place that she and Jake always met before school. She shoved a piece of gum into her mouth on the way.

Jake picked up everything he needed for school and he shoved it into his bag "i think thats it" he whispered to himself as he slung his bag over his back and walked out the door. Once outside he shut the door and began to make his way to the meeting spot, he knew she would be there before him because she always was

Micky walked towards the cafeteria and stopped when she found their tree. It was going to be winter soon, and she knew that she and Jake would need a new meeting spot. If he ever wants to meet me again... She frowned at herself and sat u against the tree's trunk. She leaned her head back and rubbed her eyes. She had gotten a bit tired from the drive, but she wasn't going to sleep. Jake would be there soon, she knew. He never took too long. She knew that he didn't like her waiting on him. Even though she told him time and time again that she was fine with it.

Jake looked at his watch and then he quickened up his pace "must not be late" he said as he started to jog there "i will not keep her waiting" he said as he saw the tree not far away, when he arived he smiled and walked over to her "im here" he said as he walked right up to her and smiled a bit more

She opened her eyes when she heard Jake's voice. She smiled up at him and stood to face him. "Hey, you." She smiled, hugging him immediately. Jake was warm, she loved that about him. It could be the dead of winter and he was like a radiator. She pulled away after a few moments, then looked at him with a soft expression. "I... I have to tell you something..." She said, then sat back down. "You- You should sit." She warned. She tousled her short pink hair and leaned against the tree, thinking of how she should break it to him.

Jake smiled as she hugged him, he liked how she always wanted a hug when it was cold, when she said she had something to him he tilted his head and sat down next to her and looked at her "what is it?... i will love you no matter what you say" he chuckled a bit

Micky sighed. "I hope so..." She muttered. "I'm preg-" She was cut off by Green Day's Insomnia. She coughed a bit and held up her index finger- the universal sign for 'one moment'. She pulled out her phone and saw that she had a new text message. She clicked the 'view later' option and turned off her phone, then put it back into her back pocket. "I..." She started again, trying to look him in the eye. "Jake, I think..." She shook her head and sighed. I can't do it, its impossible...

Jake was slightly shocked at what he thought she was going to say "wait..." he stopped as she pulled out her phone and did something, he tilted his head a bit "your pregnant?" he asked slightly confused

Micky felt the tears on her cheeks before she felt them starting to fall. She opened her mouth to confirm what he had asked, but couldn't find her voice. So instead, she ended up nodding and crying.

Jake smiled and hugged her "why are you crying... this is good news isn't it?" he asked as he felt a few tears of joy, but they soon turned to sadness "don't tell me you wish to get rid of it" he said as he pulled out of the hug and looked into her eyes

Micky was shocked at his smile and hug. She was even more shocked at his suggestion of it being good news. When she was pulled out of the hug, she wiped her tears away and gawked at him. "I-I would never do anything like that." She said. And she meant it. Abortion was sick and wrong in her eyes, but she was too young to be a mother. She didn't even know what she wanted to do when she got out of high school. "You... You're okay with it?" She asked.

Jake sighed with releife and nodded at her question "i am perfectly ok with it, i will help in whatever way i can" he smiled and hugged her again, he felt happy but shocked too, he was compleatly unprepared, but he was willing to do whatever he could to help "but what will we tell everyone at school?... never mind that"

Micky could barely blink, much less breath. Eventually, she nodded and put on a small smile. "I-I don't know what we'll tell anyone. I haven't even told my parents." She frowned. It meant a lot that he was going to be there for her, and she was more than thankful for everything he was going to do for her. Just then, the bell rang for first period to start. She didn't want to leave Jake at all, though.

Jake smiled and kissed her "i wonder what ive got for my first period..." he took out his timetable he had printed and scanned it "ive got maths..." he chuckled and kissed her again "what have you got now?"
