Luna liked having his arm around her. It definitely made her feel better. "Magic? No, no ones ever taught me how to use magic." She admitted, embarrassed by the fact that she was pretty much useless. "Um, I taught myself how to shoot a bow when i was younger, but my bow was destroyed. It caused such a big problem i never made another one." Despite the facts, she smiled. "I wasn't always so useless." She glanced around a bit before her eyes found a tree. "You break me off a branch and i can make myself another one by the end of the night."

The tree she pointed to was a yew. One of the best species to create a bow from. She'd have to do some work, but, by the end of the day, she should be able to have a half decent bow to work with. Then all she'd need was arrows.

Tarlyn smiled softly at her. "I was only taught simple magic. It was forbidden for males who weren't magi to learn anything but a few combat spells." He said. His mother had taught him some healing spells and whatnot, even though she wasn't suppose to. She wasn't even suppose to treat him like her son, he was just a male born to a priestess. He was her shame, her failure. He had to become the best at whatever he was given to do just not to shame her any further.

When she pointed to the tree, asking for him to break her off a piece, he got up and walked over to it. "That shouldn't be a problem. " He said as he climbed up the tree with ease. Finding the best possible branch, he used his sword to cut off the limb. He jumped down and handed her the branch. "Will this one do?" He asked her. All of his weapons were made from metal made by the underground gnomes and made with the finest metals the underground dwarves could make.

"This will do." Luna gave him a small smile as she took the limb. She stripped the bark from the branch and then pulled out her dagger to smooth out any other lumps and shape the ends. She whittled it down so that it was even through and through. She put it against her tiny feet and pulled the ends back to give the bow its shape. Then she pulled some string from her bag and lashed the two ends together to keep it bent. "IT's gotta dry out bent, so i wont be able to use it till tomorrow, but then i'll have a weapon."

Luna looked up to Tarlyn. "So what are we going to do now? Did you see someone you knew out there?" she was a bit worried. She was still so unsure of her feelings for him. This was new territory for her. Had he had a lover back then? Had she come to find him and take him back? Or was it an assassin sent to kill him. Either one was bad and Luna hoped for neither. She wanted to stay with him, start a life with him, but she couldn't help but worry and it showed on her face.

Tarlyn watched her as she worked on the limb. He had never seen a weapon be made before. He knew how to make a weapon, the process not foreign to him. He was amazed that she could so easily and quickly make a weapon. "That's simply amazing." He said when she was done.

Her question caught him off guard. He looked down at his hands, a frown crossing his face. "I did see someone I know. Sinfaye. Sinfaye Vilde. She is the personal servant and priestess to my house's matron. She used me as a lover a time before, as many other priestesses had." He admitted to her. "I do not wish to see her or go back with her. I rather be dead than leave you and this world." He said. He never wanted her to know of his filthy past, how tainted he really was. He couldn't look at her now, he wouldn't be able to bear the disgust that was surely written all over her face now.

He was foolish to think he could start his life over. He was foolish to believe that such a pure and innocent woman such as Luna would have a tainted and filthy man such as himself. He waited for her to tell him she no longer wanted him, that as soon as they reach a town she would leave him.

As Tarlyn spoke, Luna felt her heart drop. So it was another woman. But as she listened and recalled things earlier, it sounded as if women of his world treated him like a piece of property. Something to be passed around and shared. The thought sickened her. Tarlyn deserved so much better than that. She set her bow aside and got to her feet to approach him. He wasn't looking at her any more.

Their worlds were so different, but they had still managed to find one another and that was something that made Luna happy. She didn't want to loose him. "Tarlyn, please look at me." She spoke softly as she put on of her hands on his cheek. She waited for him to comply before she continued. "Look, i know i don't know alot about the world you came from. Honestly the things about it that i have heard from you, make me believe it was an awful place. Your past is yours and i dont need to know all of it, thats your decision... but i don't want to loose you back to that place. I want you to stay here, with me." Her cheeks reddened a bit now as she fumbled over the words. "I want you to start a new future, something happy... something with me."

She didn't know how to make him understand how much she cared. And that Despite all of the bad things from his past, she still wanted to be with him. Luna still wanted to find a place and build a house with him. She loved him. Now maybe she was insecure and needed reassurance at times, but she really did love him... and that wasn't going to change.

Tarlyn looked up at her as she touched his cheek. Her words lifted his heart and his soul. She made him feel like his past sins were nothing. His hands went up to her face, pulling her down towards him gently. He kissed her as soon as she was close to him. He poured all his feeling into that kiss, telling her all that his heart sang to him when he looked at her. He ended the kiss, looking at her, a smile on his face.

"Thank you, Luna. You have idea how much your light washes away my sins." He said. He stroked her long hair, enjoying the contrast of her light hair against his dark skin. "I don't want to go anywhere without you. I want to stay with your forever." He told her, slipping his arms around her.

Luna was a bit startled by the sudden kiss but the passion and intensity of the kiss just made her melt in his arms. She kissed him back, equaling his emotion. When he pulled away she was beaming and she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. "I'd be so happy if you stayed with me forever." she whispered in his ear. Then she pulled away a bit as she looked at him. "Tarlyn," Her cheeks flushed immensely as she looked at him. "I think I've fallen in love with you." She finally admitted.

She wasn't sure if it was the right thing to say, but it was how she felt. There was no other way to say it. Luna just hoped that she hadn't crossed a line or said too much. That was the last thing she wanted to do. She just wanted to get somewhere safe and start a life with him.

Tarlyn sat there, speechless as she admitted her love for him. He couldn't believe it, she had fallen in love with him as much as he had with her. He rose up slightly, keeping her in his arms, where she belonged. "I..I..love you too. I can't believe me luck." He said. He went in for another kiss but stopped short just inches from her face. His ears twitched, someone was close to them again. He held onto her, fear creeping up on him.

"Shh, stay still." He whispered to her. His eyes darted around, looking to the left of them. His hands slipped from her arms and went to his weapons that lay next to where they were laying.




Sinfaye caught his scent as soon as she past the campsite she passed moments before. She whirled around and stalked back to the camp, making sure she was as quiet as she could be. She didn't want to alert Tarlyn of her arrival. She came upon them again, Tarlyn and some strange moon elf. She had watched them interact, disgusted with what she saw and heard, Sinfaye walked forth into the camp. "Traitor. How could you betray your family?" She hissed at him in their drow language. She was furious with Tarlyn, he was here in the arms of their enemy. Her blood red eyes glared at Tarlyn, she didn't even bother to look at the other woman. She wasn't important to Sinfaye, not worth the effort it took to look at her.

When she heard him, she smiled bigger than she ever had. Hearing him say that made her feel like she was on top of the world. She closed her eyes as he leaned in for a kiss and oh how she wanted that kiss now more than ever. But then she stopped and Luna froze. Something was wrong. She looked around and stifled back a cry as she saw a drow woman step out.

The other woman wouldn't even look at her and she spoke in that strange way that Luna couldn't understand. Luna put her hand on Tarlyn's arm as she swallowed the lump in her throat. What was she to do? Her bow wasn't ready to use, besides she had yet to make any arrows. Her brow furrowed into a scowl. Luna didn't like the way she was looking at Tarlyn. "Tarlyn?" She spoke softly wondering what exactly to do. However, Luna was tempted to just stand up and face the woman, that look she was giving him, the fact that she had used him, it all made her sick.

Tarlyn grab his weapons as he rose. He stood between Luna and Sinfaye. "Don't speak of family. You and them weren't my family. I have found my family now." Tarlyn said, staring at Sinfaye. "Izaradas is gone and you want to play house Matron. You are not the Matron Mother." He growled. He kept his eyes on Sinfaye, keeping her attention on him. "Go, Luna, now." He whispered to her.

Sinfaye growled at him. "How dare you speak to a Lolth Priestess this way!" She snapped back at him. She would teach him a lesson he will never forget. "I will drag you back and turn you into a drider!" She hissed, turning her speak to common so his woman would also understand. Her threats weren't something to take lightly.

"So you will not go without a fight, Tarlyn?" Sinfaye said as she watched him moved between her and his woman. His stance was defensive and Sinfaye knew of his abilities with a blade. She wouldn't be much of a match for him, she was a magi. As a magi, she would always be protected by male fighters so she could cast. She was foolish enough to come out looking for him without a male consort.

Under different circumstances Luna would have been overjoyed, hearing that he was calling her family. Maybe one day they actually would become family. But this wasn't the time to dwell on that. She continued to glare at the women. "No Tarlyn, I will not leave you here." Just looking at the woman Luna could tell she wasn't a fighter. Luna herself could probably take her physically. But that thought slightly scared her. That meant she most likely used magic. Who knew what she was capable of.

Tarlyn frown, trying not to smile at Luna. She was cute when she was stubborn. He kept himself in between her and Sinfaye. "Just stay back." He said to her in low tones. He turned his attention back to Sinfaye and began to advance on her. "You will return back to that vile place you call home and you will tell them I am dead and you will never come looking for me again." He said, taking a step towards Sinfaye with each word.

As he got in her reach, Sinfaye attempted to slap him, but he dodged her, pinning her arm away from him with his swords. "If you value your life, and I know you do, You will leave us now." He snarled at her.


Sinfaye's fury was rising with each word he spoke. As soon as he was near her, she reached out to slap him. When he dodged her and blocked her with his blade, she stared at him wide eyed. "This isn't over yet, Tarlyn!" She hissed before turning on her heel, heading away from their camp. "I will come back and next time I will kill your woman and bring you back with me." She hissed, giving him and Luna both a disgusted look before she disappeared into the darkness.

When the woman left, Luna went up behind Tarlyn and wrapped her arms around him, burying her face in his back. She was shaking, her boldness melting away into fear. Why did that woman want him so much? And her threats terrified her. What if she brought more drow back? How would they fair against more?

"Tarlyn what are we going to do?" she asked, her voice shaking to match the arms she had wrapped around him.

Lunna didn't want anything to happen to him. More than her fear for herself, she was scared for him. The underdark sounded terrible. Who knows what kinds of punishments would befall him for coming up here. Now not only were her villagers after them but now his people as well. Would they ever be able to settle down and just be happy together?

Tarlyn placed a hand over her smaller ones, sighing a bit of a relief as Sinfaye left them alone. "I don't know what she'll do. She may be back, she may not. Either way, I trained all the warriors she would bring to hunt us down. I can kill them all if I wish." He said as he turned to her, keeping her arms around him. "Let's not worry about that now. We should go." He said, bending to place a soft kiss on her sweet lips.

He had to figure out a way to keep Sinfaye from hurting them. He wanted nothing more than to have a quiet life with Luna, living in some bustling town and raising children with her. The only way he could think of was to kill her, but he would have to kill all of the Vilde family, besides his mother, Matron Izaradas and Andre. No one knew where Andre or Izaradas were. He shook his head free of his thoughts and looked at Luna. "Are you alright to travel?" He asked her, cupping her face softly.

Luna savored the kiss he planted on her lips. Even in the crazy moment, she found that his lips seemed to stop time. She loved his arms around her, especially now. That woman had scared her. When he cupped her face Luna smiled and put her hands on his. "Yes, i am fine to travel." She turned her head and kissed his hand before she pulled away to grab her bag and bow that was still being shaped.

After putting her bag on her back she went back to his side. "Okay, I'm ready." She just wanted to get out of there. Get out of there and be with Tarlyn. He made her happy and she just wanted to be with him and away from these stupid people that didn't want them together. It seemed like the world didn't want them together, but she wasn't going to let that stop them. She loved him and would do everything possible to stay with him.

Tarlyn took her hand as soon as she was ready. He gave her a quick smiled before he led her through the dense woods. He hoped that Sinfaye had went back to the Underdark and wasn't lurking somewhere in the woods waiting to ambush them. Tarlyn hurried them through the woods, taking them through the thickest parts in order to avoid running into anyone who wanted to harm them.

Before too long, they reached a bustling city, full of many different races. Tarlyn looked around him, his eyes focused more now than when he first arrived to the surface world. The light wasn't hurting his eyes anymore, he had adapted much quicker than he had thought he would. Everything around him was amazing, there were homes and buildings made of wood and not built into walls. People of different races were helping one another, no one was trying to hurt anyone else. Tarlyn looked at Luna with a wide smile on his face. "What do you think of this town, Luna?" He asked her. No one really looked at them, nor did they try to bother them.

Luna held on tight to his hand as he pulled her through the dense trees. When tjhey got to the edge of the city Luna's eyes got wide. She had never seen such big buildings or so many people. She scooted closer to Tarlyn, her hand going to his side in an effort to comfort herself. She couldn't believe that no one stared or gawked at them.

"This... this is amazing!" She smiled up at him as she wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "Are we going to stay here?" She asked wit h a smile up at him. "She rested her head on his chest briefly before looking back to the city. "Will it be safe here?"

Tarlyn watched her face light up with amazement. She looked so radiant when she was smiling and worry free. "I don't know if it will be safe, but it has to be better than where we came from." He said. He took her hand again, bringing it up to his lips and kissing it. "Come on, let's find a place to stay for the night and look for jobs. " He said as he started to lead her around the busy town.

They looked at shops and other businesses, Tarlyn making a mental note to see if the blacksmith would hire him. He noticed a shop that seem to have pretty dresses inside. "Oh..maybe you could see if they need help here, Luna." Tarlyn said, pointing up to the sign that said seamstress.

Luna laced her fingers with his as he led her through the bustling streets. She looked around trying to take it all in as they walked. A Place to stay the night would be good. Part of her just wanted to find an inn and curl up next to Tarlyn. It seemed that they didn't actually get any time together since this whole things started and they started running.

She glanced over to the seamstress that he pointed out. The dresses were quite beautiful, but Luna saw different things she could fix with all of them. Maybe she could get a job there.

Then she looked back up to Tarlyn. "So is this where we are going to live?"

Tarlyn smiled down at her. "I wouldn't mind. At least for a while, until we can save up some money and buy a nice piece of land some where." He said. "Would you like to go in and see if they have any jobs?" He asked her. He had spotted an inn just down the block from where they were. They could probably stay there for the night, it looked nice enough. He felt good being in the town, he could him and Luna building a happy life here.


Shimmer, a beautiful golden skinned elf with long shimmery blue hair walked down the bustling city street. She was scanning the area, looking at all the people around. Her eyes caught sight of a handsome, dark skinned elf hanging outside a seamstress shop. She grinned to herself, fluffing up her hair. She walked up to the door of the seamstress, brushing against the handsome elf. "Excuse me, sir." She said sweetly, batting her large blue eyes at him before rushing into the shop.

Luna looked up at him and smiled at the thought of buying a piece of land and building a house with him. She gave his hand a squeeze. "Sure why don't we check it out." She grinned up at him as they walked towards the seamstress.

When the other woman showed up, Luna froze. She was beautiful and Luna felt an instant wave of insecurity wash over her. Biting her lip she looked up To Tarlyn and tried to pull him along with her into teh seamstress and away from the other woman.

Tarlyn frowned as the woman with the shining blue walked past the and brushed up against him. He shook his head and smiled at Luna as she took his hand. He let her lead him into the shop. He looked around at the clothing they had for sale as Luna waited to talk to the owner of the shop.

Tarlyn looked over his shoulder, feeling eyes on him. He caught the blue haired elven woman staring at him. He recognized that look, having seen it many times before. She stared at him with lust and desire. Tarlyn shivered and looked away from her. Sure, she was lovely, but he had no feeling of want like he had with Luna. He looked back over to her, a slow smile spreading across his face. He never thought that love could hit so fast.


Shimmer growled low in her throat. The handsome elf wasn't paying her any mind. How dare he! She was beautiful beyond belief and he chose to ignore her? Maybe he was just pretending around that other elf because she was holding something he needed. Shimmer wasn't going to rest until she got her hands, as well as other parts of her body, on him. She needed to know his name and where he came from.

Luna was glad that Tarlyn didn't hesitate to follow her. That other woman was beautiful, more so than she thought herself to be. A lump formed in her throat as she began to chew on her lip, worry covering her face. She turned and looked at him giving him a small smile. She loved him, she really did. Even though they seemed to have just met it was something that she couldn't explain. The feelings and happiness he gave her. Luna wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. She idly recalled seeing a wedding once in her village, the beautiful ceremony and confessions of love. Maybe that could happen one day with her and Tarlyn, she could only hope. But as she looked at him, she caught a glimpse of the woman behind him and i made a small pain run through her chest. If he left she didn't think she would ever be able to find someone she cared as much about.

She shook her head. Now wasn't the time to think of that. "If you find something you like, i could make you a new shirt or vest. I'll be back in a few minutes." She gave his hand a squeeze before she wondered off to find the owner. The owner was a plump man with clothes too tight but he was nice. After discussing what she wanted, the man offered her a low paying job, but depending on her skill later she could earn more money, but that would come after he saw some of her products. But the things she made, were far better than anything in this store. So a raise shouldn't be too hard for her to get. "Thank you so much sir." She shook his hand with a smile before she turned to go back and find Tarlyn again.

Tarlyn had been idly fingering a silk shirt that was a deep blue. It was lovely, he thought. He didn't really care too much about clothing, he just needed something to make him look busy. He wanted out of that store as soon as possible. The blue haired elf woman kept staring at him and it was making him uncomfortable. He looked up at Luna as she started back for him. He smiled at her, holding out his hand to her. "Well?" He asked as soon as she reached him.



Shimmer watched her dark skinned man with lustful eyes. She glared as the girl came back to him and he held out his hand to her. That was her hand, not that fair skin elf's! Shimmer bit her lip, trying not to cave into making a scene in front of the store. She waited, pretending to look at a dress, waiting for them to leave. She'd follow and figure out a way to rid her dark elf of that pale woman once and for all.

Luna smiled and took Tarlyn's out stretched hand. She pulled herself to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I got a job." She beamed. "It wont pay much right away but once he sees the quality of my work i should get a raise." She grinned and found his hand again, her fingers lacing with his as the walked out. Luna had caught a glimpse of the blue haired woman and frowned momentarily before looking back up to Tarlyn and smiling. "So now where are we heading? To find a place to stay? Or did you want to find a job somewhere?" She asked, her voice sweet, she was trying to ignore the dagger like stares she was getting from the other woman.
