Tali shook her head back and forth at Kael's assumption. "I don't have to kill them. I could just hold them off with fire. Maybe block their path a little," she explained. "Not to mention they're probably after me. If they see me, they'll probably be confused at first, then we can surprise them."

The healer, Aletheia, had done wonders on her body with her Gift. Tali felt much better; the nausea, and even the pain from her beating this morning were gone. Tali's small-clothes were starting to itch as the bile dried, but that wouldn't adversely affect her ability over fire. Hopefully, Wyvern would have new clothes for her after the battle was done.

Dimitri looked up. "Ummm.... I'd say fifty soilders and more gifted. I knew because the were shooting fire and what not. I don't think they mind working for the king. They all looked like they were.... crazy? I mean like they enjoyed killing. We definately need to move."

He barely noticed the young looking girl. "Umm... I don't think they even know your missing yet. I think they're supplying the army we've benn stalking the past month." He said, understsanding that this was the Firechild. "What do you want us to do Kael?" Dimitri looked at Kael as one of the only people who had sense in the entire Resistence. He drew his sword in order to prepare himself and the others.

"I don't know what you're going to do against them, but I should come to. Someone's going to get hurt, and I'd like to help if I can." Aletheia was worried, and hid it poorly. This wasn't going to be pretty. She just hoped she could prevent as many deaths as possible. "And... if it turns out they are somehow misguided... I may need to heal them too." She hoped they could be turned to their side. she hated to think that people would be killed or jailed at all. She had a gentle heart.

Wyvern finally reached the prison building, running inside as soon as she saw the entrance. She had to stop and catch her barings so that she could remember which room Kael and the others had gone into, but when she did, she hurried in. Seeing Dimitri, she assumed they already knew about the approaching forces. Taking a few deep breaths to ease her raged breathing, she was finally able to speak. "I sent Ratyd to gather all those unable to fight and take them towards the second exit of the caves. All the children and injured should be with him by now. I came to see what the plan was," she said, while walking towards Tali.

"Here," she said softly, handing over the clothes. "I know they're not much, but they should fit, and they're clean. I hope you don't mind brown." She smiled at the much smaller girl, not letting her worry take over.she needed to stay as calm as possible in all situations, otherwise she wouldn't be able to tell what she would do. If she panicked, she might accidentally set her friends on fire, and that was never good in combat situations.

Staggering, Melora helped the girl walk. She had never supported somebody walk before, and her balance refused to center. But if the girl kept going, Melora would too.

"I hope I can avoid a fight until your safe, because I have a sinking feeling in my gut," Melora muttered. She could teel that people were nearby, and they could care less about her and the girl.

Allanasha 02-06-2011 04:19 PM

Zrech was out by the front, already organizing people. Many were nervous, they always were something like this. The king's men were better trained, and generally had better control over their gifts. With a few exceptions within the resistance.

"Do we know how many there are?" a familiar voice asked from behind Zrech.

Zrech turned his head. "Not yet, I left before I was told. However, I sent someone ahead to check it out. We should know soon.

The man, Elnych, nodded. He was a fireworker. "Good. I hate going into these things blind."

Zrech managed a small smile. "We all do," He replied. "Where's Arvyt?"

"In the back. He'll be right out there with us, should any of us fall."

Zrech raised an eyebrow. "You sure that's okay?"

"Arvyt's just as good a fighter as any of us," Elnych replied. "He can handle himself well enough."

"Sorry," Talana murmured, attempting to pull more of her weight off the girl.

omglol 02-06-2011 04:31 PM

"No, no, it's fine," Melora assured. "It really isn't your fault." Melora looked around. She could faintly hear the chattering and walking of troops. What they wanted seemed unclear at the moment, aside from the fact that this was a resistance camp.

"We have to be careful from here on out," Melora whispered. "The people nearby might be imperial troops and are bound to have some gifted if they are. If we get spotted, well, I try not to think about that." Melora shuddered. Whatever they did to resistance members, it wasn't pretty.

Angelo 02-06-2011 05:04 PM

"Well that depends, now doesn't it?" Tali said to the teleporting boy. "I was supposed to be back three hours ago. And besides that, every soldier in the army knows me. If they saw me out here, they'd probably have orders from the king to get me, even if it isn't their primary goal."

Tali continued waiting for Kael's response, whether it be a yea, or a nay didn't matter to her. She didn't want to sit idly by, but she also didn't want to get in anyone's way. While she was waiting, Wyvern returned, bearing the clothing she had promised. Tali had very little experience with modesty due to living with the abusive king, so it wasn't a surprise when she only turned her back to the others when she stripped off her icky small-clothes and replaced them with the brown clothing that Wyvern had given her. They were pretty loose and large on her tiny frame, the sleeves hung out over her fingers by a good three or four inches, and did the same with her feet. She pulled the sleeves back so that they were halfway towards her wrists before she pulled them over the first layer, effectively putting them exactly at her wrists. She did the same with her pant legs, though she only pulled them up once. Tali looked at Wyvern and spun once before asking, "Well? How do they look?"

Listening to the news Dimitri brought Kael bit his lip lightly. That was a good number but Kael was sure that Zrech was doing well with informing the others. They could scrounge up at least a force comparable to the one Dimitri spoke of and with surprise on their side could intercept the supplies before they got to where they were going.

"Thank you Aletheia.", Kael said as his muscles returned to normal, "Staying with us might turn out to be a good idea. Those that can be kept alive should be."

Before he could speak again Wyvern stumbled in. Despite the tense situation he allowed her the time to catch her breath and after hearing of what she did Kael told her that she did good and to stay with them for the fight.

"I am going to go outside and see who else we can round up. I am sure Zrech has given them plenty for some of the quicker warriors to get ready for battle. As for you fire child... if you really want to help us you can. This will be a kill and capture all mission we will surround them and attempt to let no one get out we might just get lucky and the enemy will be none the wiser."

With that Kael headed outside and went about addressing those in the immediate area. Some of them were willing to join them in the fight but others declined or simply were not ready to move out. On his way throughout the camp he asked around for Zrech until finally Kael found him.

"Zrech you never fail my expectations. In fact you seem to always surpass them.", Kael said with a smile looking upon the group he had gathered.

Seeing as he caught the last bit of conversation before arriving he decided to update both of them, "Dimitri said there were fifty soldiers and some gifted that appear to be of fire origin. This should be a kill and capture mission. None should escape or our position is forfeit. Our plan is to surround them and attack from all sides. I will go get those at the prison still and we can merge our two groups."

With that Kael jogged off towards the prison once again and upon entering found that Tali was now dressed in new clothes. All of them seemed ready, Dimitri even had his sword drawn.

"Well come on. Lets take the fight to them.", Kael said charismatically before hand motioning everyone to follow him out.

Now the two groups would merge to become one. It looked like the battle would even in terms of numbers. Normally he would form ranks but there was little time for that. The plan was simple. Get there, observe the layout of the terrain, surround them, and place archers in the trees up ahead. Let their little party advance and rain down two volleys of arrows before the full attack commenced. If all goes according to plan there should be a significant advantage for their side...

Angelo 02-08-2011 02:42 AM

Tali followed Kael out obediently, trusting that he knew what he was doing. Chances are there would be one or two of the soldiers that Tali would recognize for their evil deeds, raping young girls and torturing innocent people and the like. Those would be the ones she could kill without remorse. "Mr. Kael?" Tali called to the tall man to get his attention. "I'll go on ahead. I have an idea on how we can get a better advantage." Without waiting for a response, Tali dashed forward, heating the air in front of her to move it out of the way, effectively creating much less air resistance for the young girl.

After running for about a minute, she encountered the troops that the teleporting boy had mentioned. Instinctively, Tali dove into the brush, waiting for them to get closer. She sprang out on them when they were close enough to see her, apparently panic-stricken and terrified, false tears streaming down her face.

"Lady Tali!" the captain of the force called out as the men stopped short, shocked speechless. "Are you alright? What happened?"

"The Rebels caught me and tortured me until I managed to escape," she lied to the man, sounding for all the world like a terrified little girl. "They're after me now! You have to protect me!"

"Yes, ma'am!" the man replied as she crept to the middle of the formation, believing her lie quite easily on account of the puppy dog eyes she had given him. "You heard her men! Battle formation!"

Tali smiled to herself in triumph. The plan was quite simple. She would get the enemy focused on fighting the Rebels, and then she would attack them from behind while Kael's forces demolished their fore-guard. Kael, having no idea what she was planning, would probably end up playing along, believing he had been betrayed, which would further solidify her lie to the captain. Now all that was left to do was wait for the two forces to engage.

Allanasha 02-08-2011 04:00 PM

Talana nodded as she allowed the girl to lead her. She was suddenly struck with the urge to smile as she realized that this was the first battle she had ever run from.

No, she corrected. It's the second. Mother forced me to run from Lord Fragan in the beginning. She knew this time had a better reason. She really was in no condition to fight. If only a healer were around. Even the weakest of them should be able to get rid of most of what ailed her.

"What ..." she coughed slightly. "What are they after?" she asked.

Zrech nodded his thanks to Kael and seemed to step aside so the other could talk.

fairywaif 02-09-2011 12:19 AM

Alethia followed behind nervously, unsure of what to do in the meantime. She guessed she'd stay quiet and watch. She knew that battlefield healing was dangerous, but she had to do something to help. She just hoped she could take the possible carnage. She also hoped she didn't get too exhausted during all this. She had already done tow healings today. minor ones, but it was possible that even those could lead to her being so drained that she'd black-out. She hated when that happened. She fervently hoped there wouldn't be too many injured.

omglol 02-09-2011 01:09 AM

Well, I'm not quite sure," Melora replied. "They're probably after the 'fire child' that I heard someone mention earlier. I've heard that she's prized to the king. By the way, what's your name?"

{OOC: Ugh. Sorry writer's block at the moment ><.}

Cloaked Hatter 02-09-2011 04:29 AM

After listening to Kael's battle plan, she followed the group. Hanging back a bit, she saw the Healer, Alethia, looking rather nervous. Smiling slightly, Wyvern walked up to her. "You know," she started softly, so as not to startle the poor woman, "I'll stick around you if you want. Then you won't have to worry about being attacked while tending to someone. I have my fire, and if that's not enough, I've got my sword." She fingered the hilt of her favorite weapon. It had been her father's, and was one of the few things she had left from either parent.

fairywaif 02-09-2011 04:43 AM

"Oh! Yes that'd be wonderful. I just hope I can bear to see this fight.. I've never been in battle before. That would be a blessing though. i didn't even think of that before! It's so dangerous. I know I can help, but all the pain that's coming, it's almost too much to bear..." Alethia said.

Allanasha 02-09-2011 04:36 PM

"Talana," she replied, automatically. "Talana Kanashy-Teras, Chae of the Klan."

--

Arvyt, a rather petite young man with blond hair and icy blue eyes made his way over to Alethia and Wyvern. He was a nice young man, always with a friendly word or smile for anyone. He was also one of the stronger healers the resistance had. He gave the two women a small smile before looking out over the soon-to-be battlefield.

"It's going to be bad," he said, softly, because his voice never seemed to get any louder ... except during a battle, when it had to to be heard. "Will you be okay, Alatheia?"

omglol 02-10-2011 12:03 AM

"That's a nice name," Melora replied. Now that they were nearing camp, she could hear everybody prepare for a battle. "Looks like my hunch was right, everybody's preparing for battle."

She could see the people of the resistance now, everybody preparing and strategizing. She could hardly pick out faces, however, so she had no idea of where a healer was.

"Hang in there a bit longer, Talana," Melora said. "We're almost there."

Cloaked Hatter 02-12-2011 08:46 PM

Wyvern smiled when she saw Arvyt make his way over to the two of them. She should have known he would be taking part in the battle. He always did, whether out of not wanting to see too many injured or for some reason she didn't know, but she was greatful none the less. "I'll be sticking with the Healers today. If anything bad happens to you guys, we're all in trouble." He tone was light and joking, but she meant her words. If they lost any of their Healers, things could go very bad, very quickly. She wouldn't let that happen, not when she could help it. She hadn't been able to help in the last battle that the Resistance had been in, because she had been injured at the time. She planned on making up for that now.

fairywaif 02-12-2011 09:29 PM

"I'll try. I never been in any fighting before, but I'll try to be strong." Aletheia didn't really know what was in store for her, but she hoped she was strong enough to withstand it. "Thank you for caring though. I'm sure we can work well together."

Allanasha 02-14-2011 05:42 PM

Talana nodded silently, most of her concentration now on moving rather than talking. She was tired ... and sore. Part of her just wanted to lay back down and go back to sleep, but she knew that wasn't going to happen. She was awake, and it was for a reason. They'd told her as much, though never what reason.

Arvyt gave his fellow healer another smile and nodded his agreement. Then, he looked over at Wyvern. "We could use to added protection," he said. "Not all of us are able to fight, and there seem to be more of us here today. Though, since we were surprised, I'm sure we'll need them."

((OOC: Sorry guys, I've been distracted elsewhere))

Cloaked Hatter 02-16-2011 01:19 AM

Wyvern nodded, smiling. "Exactly. That's why I was hangning back here. It's never good when we've been surprised. Though, we have a bit of an advantage this time, since Dimitri saw them and came to warn Kael. Still, you guys are gonna have your work cut out for you." She grimaced, looking forward again, trying not to think about the battle to come. Shaking her head to get the images out of her brain, before looking at the two healers beside her. "Anyways, I'll do my best to make sure you guys don't get hurt, especially if you have to go into the actual battle field itself. That's always the worst place."

omglol 02-18-2011 05:24 AM

As they neared the resistance members, Melora started searching for a healer. Talana would need one to get back to full strength, for her body had been weakened by her sleep.

"Hey," Melora said loudly enough to be heard. "I'm back!" Hopefully, someone who knew what was going on would be around to hear.

Isaac Levis 02-19-2011 05:25 PM

Kael did not talk at all on the way to the ambush spot. He was mentally building himself up for the battle to come. Everyone already knew the plan he just hoped it went down without a hitch. Once the group got closer the talking quited down and everyone took their positions around either side of the dirt path.

Soon footsteps became apparent to everyone, they were close. Kael drew his shield and sword a signal to those who have not drawn their weapons yet to do so. The sound of bowstrings all being drawn back at once was faintly audible in the silence. He was about ready to have the archers fire their volleys when Tali did something he did not plan.

Normally Kael did not jump to conclusions so he attempted to remain calm here to see what Tali would do. This was her chance to either become a member of the Resistance or throw that all away. Kael processed the words that she said but could hardly believe them. He began to grit his teeth as an anger built up inside of him.

"Volley!", Kael stood up from his hiding spot and shouted.

About ten of the enemies went down with a few others injured by the arrows, "Charge!", Kael called after that leaping from the bushes and being one of the first to make contact with the opposing forces.

One of his first actions was actually to block an incoming attacking with his shield. Kael's thoughts flickered back to what happened only moments before. If Tali had not given them away they would have been able to get another volley of arrows off and ultimately less casualties on their side.

Grunting he pushed his shield into the attackers face knocking him down and with a kick to the head Kael assured himself that this foe would not be getting up anytime soon. Taming his anger Kael started to go about making more calculated hits and blocks. Adrenaline coursed through his body and Kael focused it into a source of fuel for the fight.

"Keep the one on your left safe!" Kael reminded them, working as a team would be necessary for the easiest victory.

((Sorry about being gone so long! Real life ate up my time and my internet was out for a couple days))

fairywaif 02-19-2011 07:05 PM

"Hey Melora. Did you need something? I think we're in the middle of fighting, so I may need to duck out in a bit to tend to the wounded." Alethia asked. She scanned the battlefield as she said, alert for any possible injuries that might be incoming or that she might need to go out to.

Angelo 02-20-2011 05:02 PM

When the fighting began, Tali dropped back to the rear of the Royal force, flinging fireballs at the Rebels to make it appear she was attacking, though they fizzled out in the air before they could do any damage. in addition, she hurled fireballs at the Royal force, though these ones didn't fizzle out. After doing this for a few minutes, she decided to make her affiliation known. Creating a wall of fire behind her, she pushed it toward the rear of the Royal Army, panicking the soldiers and generally creating chaos, as well as an opportunity for the Rebels to deal some serious damage.
