Age: 22
Species/Occupation: Human/Slayer
Gender: Female

“Can we at least agree that next time I get a say in the outfit?” She asked, distaste practically dripping off her teeth into the receiver as she looked at the short skirt in the mirror.
“You’re going to a rave, you know as well as I do what girls dress like at those kinds of clubs, especially this one, at least you managed to find some of those, what did you call them? Booty shorts? To wear underneath so you don’t feel completely exposed. Just…do your job and try to refrain from spilling any human boys blood, or breaking their limbs. Check in when you get home with what you find.”
With a click the conversation was over, and Elizabeth still wanted to shoot herself more than anyone else at the moment. Her outfit was hardly anything she could fight in, the shorts would help if she had to, but one tear anywhere would leave her more exposed than she was use to. Why weren’t jeans and tank tops sexy enough anymore? Why couldn’t the raver kids get back into bell-bottoms so she could start hunting in more than skimpy outfits?
Because life sucked that’s why. But if men were stupid enough to think the outfit meant they had a chance, it made her job easier, vampire men weren’t much smarter than human men, they were just a lot quicker, and they noticed a hell of a lot more. It’s why she had to go in alone, one would notice anyone watching her or following her around. They’d hear any conversation she had, which meant the cell phone was only on for emergencies, it was a cheap pre-pay phone, which se deleted the history of in case she lost it.
The only thing the outfit had provided her with was a challenge of arming herself. She’d managed to strap a small dagger along her spine, high enough to make sure the shirt wouldn’t rise up any higher and reveal it, and then a smaller on against her left wrist under the sleeve. It wasn’t meant for her to take down more than maybe one target, if that, it was just to make sure if she got into trouble, she’d be able to get out in one piece. Figuring it was as good as she’d be able to manage with weapons, she rummaged through her bathroom for something appealing, settling on a pomegranate scented spray, she put barely any on her neck and wrists, not enough for humans to pick up, but the sensitive noses she was aiming at would have no problem finding it.
Slipping the cell phone and her keys in the small pocket of the shorts under the skirt, she locked up and made her way outside, glad that the room she was renting for the evening was only a few blocks from the rave. Which of course was another important rule, never be farther than running distance from a safe place. Even in heals, she’d been trained to run at least 5 miles without getting tired, her feet always killed afterwards but it’d kept her alive on multiple occasions, most in which she was simply bait leading the vampire in a trap of slayers, something they did few and far between to ensure no one caught on.
A few minutes later, she was outside the large building, and like most places, she didn’t bother standing in line, or with an ID. She flashed a smile at the bouncer and he let her in, and she didn’t waste time looking around, she made her way straight for the bar. She worked better with a few shots in her, it didn’t mess with her ability to fight, but it increased her ability to relax, dance and seem like she did this on a regular basis, not just when she needed to lure one of the creatures out away from it’s companions. Though, if she were honest with herself, the dancing part, when some pervert wasn’t all over her, was actually very….peaceful. Two shots in, her ears were filled with ‘Pain’ by 3 Days Grace, and without being able to help herself, she made her way to the dance floor to join the large crowd, closing her eyes as she let the music take over her limbs and drowned out the rest of the world.

The rave already appeared to be hopping with activity. It was loud and crowded, and at least half of the guests were drunk or flying high on various different drug cocktails. Most people were dancing or drinking at the bar, but there were a few off to the side flirting or having conversations.
One of them was attracting a bit of attention, and for reasons a slayer would be able to spot out quite easily. With skin white as snow, fire-orange hair, wolf-like golden eyes, and a height of nearly seven feet, he stood out from the rest of the crowd. His pupils darted about the large, domed room, in an almost manic way. He was on the lookout...
He wasn't making any attempts to hide his species. He even yawned and briefly flashed his teeth at any passerby who were looking. This nonchalance about hiding his features suggested that he was confident...far too confident to worry, even though he probably knew there were slayers in the area. Normally vampires would not be so careless in public...his kind tended to be wary creatures who avoided contact with most people on purpose.
Not this one. He wasn't just attracting attention because of his odd looks...he was shirtless and his body was riddled with professional-looking tattoos. If he wasn't looking to attract attention, he would have at least worn a shirt...girls and even a few guys passing by him would give him alluring looks and make comments about his looks.
He would occasionally respond to flirtation from the guests of the rave, but for the most part just smiled and brushed them off. He seemed to be looking for just the right person to toy with tonight. He wasn't going to prance off with just anyone...he wouldn't stop until he found the 'right' one for tonight...

A few songs and a few shots later, she felt great, though she was a bit upset that now it meant she had to actually focus and do her job. Glancing around, she left the floor and made her way back to the bar, and realized a few steps from the bar she had to fight through a sea of girls, all seemingly drunk off something other than alcohol. Glancing over their heads, she noticed what all the commotion was about, a vampire, flaunting his stuff, including a flash of fangs every now and again, but the girls either weren’t noticing, or were convincing themselves they were props.
Pushing her way past the last girl, she looked at the vampire who was now next to her before ordering her shot from the bartender. Glancing over her shoulder she looked back at him, “Quit a fan club you’ve got. Though I’m guessing that’s all any of them are? Fans hoping you’ll pick one of them to dance with tonight, but crash their hopes of it ever happening again?” A few girls looked at her a bit nastily, as if she’d made some rude comment, it wasn’t her fault it was the truth.
Downing her shot, she ordered one more before adding on, “Cute teeth, did you glue them on or did the big boy decide to pay a dentist a lot of money to have them made? I thought playing vampire was last years ‘thing’.” Though she couldn't blame the poor girls, if she didn't know what he was, she'd be just as attracted as they were, but he was a vampire, and a player at that, probably too high on himself most of the time to ever care if anyone was after his life.

"I've been looking, but nothing has struck my fancy just yet..." He had a slight accent...it seemed to be a mix between Spanish and Russian. It was oddly attractive, in its own way...plus it was an odd combination and therefore it was automatically deemed exotic.
He cast a lazy eye in her direction, just as a very forward young man passed him and gave him a whistle--he grinned in his direction briefly before turning back towards his semi-unwanted company.
"It's only uncool if the vampire in question sparkles like a fairy and lives in the forest," he replied, looking amused. "People dig vampires when they don't sparkle. At least, I do. What business is it of yours, anyway...?" He arched a fire orange eyebrow.

Elizabeth rolled her eyes and laughed, “You think so, but uh…” She looked over the crowd, as if it may have change within the past few minutes, “I’m pretty sure that sparkling vampire had more fan girls than you…and he wasn’t even a real person.” She said with a shrug of her shoulders.
“It wasn’t until I had to fight through a see of lust-drunk imbeciles for a shot.” She said as she played around with the shot glass in front of her. “To them, you’re just a fun one night stand, or a bad boy they think they can tame and change to their ways.” Turning she glanced at the crowd and picked out a few, pointing at them as she went, “Her daddy’s loaded, or both parents are, and naturally want her to marry a doctor, someone safe and sensible, so being a teenager, she wants to find the scariest boy to bring home. She is coked out of her mind and just wants a quick fix that comes with an adrenaline rush.” People reading, it was something you had to be good at if you wanted to pick out a vampire.
Shrugging once more, she down her shot and looked at him, “You, I’m guessing you aren’t interested in any of them because they’re too easy. For each one that’s new, there’s been 5 more before her. Even if you just want someone for the night, they’re just no fun anymore.” Finally, she smiled, “Am I close? Or am I just mean and you’re really prince charming here to find his princess?”

"I'm here for quick and easy fun. Nothing else. I'm looking for a one-night princess or prince to entertain me." He so openly admitted that he played on both sides of the fence. Confidence and a little arrogance radiated off of each word he said...he wasn't afraid of much, that was for sure. "I don't do long-term. It's not my thing."
He stretched his arms slightly and peered over at her again. "You'd do," he said, simply. "I just want to consider all my options before I actually go around choosing people. I'm picky."
And picky he was. It wasn't often that Curry found someone he could actually stand to share a bed with. Usually he would just give up, pick the most attractive person in the room, run off, and take some of their blood...no fun for him at all. Just food. He only liked to play with his food if said food didn't irritate the piss out of him.

She’d do? Had it really been so easy to get on his list of possible people to get cozy with. Though she was sure he wasn’t talking about sleeping with anyone, his one night stands were quick meals. She wondered how many were just small nibbles and how many girls never made it home the next morning.
“See, the only problem with me, is that I’m not on drugs, nor am I having daddy issues, so my common sense is telling me that you’re probably not a very safe choice to do anything with. I’d rather not have a one night stand turn into my last night. No offense or anything, I’m sure you’re great, but not great enough to die for. I guess you‘d do if I was drunk, or you had some amazing ability to convince me while sober, which would be a pretty damn good skill.” Elizabeth was having a bit too much fun poking at the vampire without coming out and admitting that she knew exactly what he was. People didn’t believe in real vampires unless they were crazy or slayers, and she didn’t feel like acting like some wacky cult member.
“I’m a work a-holic, I come here for the music, dancing, and the booze.” She admitted, which, well it was pretty true, she didn’t do much other than work, she just left out that the other reason she came here was to find people like him. “The men here can’t dance, most of the women are taken or desperate, I’ve given up thinking there were potentials even for a one night stand, I really don’t like waking up in the morning regretting my night.”

He yawned, as if he didn't care in the least what she was saying. It was an incredibly rude gesture, but he didn't seem to mind. He had all the friends he needed...he had his best friend, whom he turned in a life-or-death situation, and that was enough for him. As long as he had someone to share his bed at least once a week, he was content with life. He didn't get close to people that often.
"Safe, no. But I'm great in bed," he commented, a brash, toothy grin on his face. "I thought women wanted thrills. At least, the girls who come here do. The guys want thrills, but not as much...they're more into it for the sex than the thrills..." He ordered a drink, finally, from the bartender. It was a strange combination of many different drinks, and it was the strongest cocktail that the bar was offering.
He seemed intrigued by her last few comments, however, and he leaned down a bit, tilting his head slightly to the side. With his wildly-colored hair he resembled an exotic parrot.
"Oh...but I can dance...I love dancing..."

The yawn did what it was suppose to, it made her irritated, like she was boring him to death. Though she knew better than to take it to heart, it was how men like him were, even the vampires, they would act cocky and self-centered and there was no reason for them to care really. She was just one simply human girl, who would either be a snack or a blink of an eye compared to how long he would be around, if she didn't cut that short anyway.
When he ordered a drink, she ordered another, and probably the last shot she would be able to handle for the night without loosing her lovely ability of judgment. He didn't openly offer to dance with her, but his tone and posture made it clear he was up for the challenge. So she smirked, "You dance? Really?" She asked, looking at him doubtfully, but then she smiled and looked at the dance floor, "All right, get off your ass and prove it. I haven't met a single man who's been able to keep up with me yet."

"I'll do so once I finish my drink. I don't want to spill it. I don't dance without a partner, either...so come out with me if you want to see me work." He had been around a long time. Sure he knew how to dance...he knew how to do everything from waltz, to jitterbug, to grind. The drink did not seem to give him a buzz at all, even though it was the strongest thing one could order here.
When he finally finished his drink he set his glass down and politely offered his hand. He still had some gentlemanly qualities. "Going to join me?"

Elizabeth was a bit surprised that he offered her his hand, and at first, she almost didn't take it, she wasn't sure she knew how to touch a vampire without trying to be painful about it. However, the alcohol was kicking in and she was able to relax. "Of course, it's hard to challenge you to keep up if I'm not around to set the pace." She said with a smile, though she wanted to smack the hated looks from the other girls around. She most likely just saved a good amount of them from becoming food, she hated her job sometimes, people were never grateful, and they couldn't be if they didn't know what was out there. Another reason she couldn't date, people just didn't like it when you couldn't tell them what your job was, especially when it had you gone at any hours of the day, and dressed in a variety of outfits depending on where you were going and what you were suppose to do.

His hand was cold to the touch, of course...but it wasn't hard, like a lot of other vampires' skin was. It was actually rather soft. Soft, but cold as the North Pole's glaciers. An odd combination. He rarely gave out his name at such parties like this. Usually, most people took it as a joke or a code-name, anyway. After all, there weren't many people who could say with a serious face that their name was Curry.
He led her out, through the crowd, towards the middle of the dance floor. He did not dance just yet--he waited patiently for her to set the pace to go at. He was fond of challenges, and he liked proving people wrong. It gave him a sense of betterment...a sense of being greater than others.
Of course, he loved thinking he was larger than life. In many ways, he was. He was good-looking, strong, a great dancer, great in bed...and he was actually rather intelligent. Centuries of life had gifted him with the power of extensive knowledge. He had a genius-level IQ.

The cold in his touch sent a chill down her spine, and she shivered a bit, no wonder women were all over him, even though his touch was cold, the shivers were what won most girls over, anyone who could give them that kind of thrill with just a touch was worth exploring to see what else he could do. As the finally reached the middle, she smiled, excusing herself for only a second to go request a song. While the rap and pop was something she could easily keep up with, heavier stuff was just more of an adrenaline rush.
'Monster' by Skillet started blaring through the speakers, and for the beginning instrumental she kept it clean, simple, a little hip a little hear, it was her warm up. Starting out simple helped her drown everything out but the music, she had to forget there were other people around, and right now, she had to forget she was so close to a vampire, who would be watching to see what he was up against. She managed to ignore everything else, and by the time the voice was added to the music, her arms joined her hips and head with the music, and just flowed with it. Vampires enjoyed music, slayers had to be good at dancing, everything, younger ones liked the dancing kids did now, older ones were impressed with waltz and tangos, she'd learned all of them, but these this style was easier, you could do it on your own and still make it look nice.

Curry watched her closely once she returned--he'd suspected that she'd gone off to request a song she could dance to. Ha! How pathetic...she couldn't just dance with the song that was playing? It seemed weak to him. Weakness was something that he honed on. It was something he couldn't help--vampires were all about self-preservation when it came to most social interaction. Weaknesses were good to note.
The moment she started dancing, he joined her. He was a fluid, talented dancer--he copied her almost move for move and didn't mess up or slow down. He earned stares from nearby girls and a few stares from some of the guys, as well. Getting checked out felt like an accomplishment for him.
His dancing was rather odd. He managed to dance in a hardcore manner, for the song type...but his dancing still managed to stay elegant.

Elizabeth finally managed to open her eyes about halfway through the song, and couldn't keep the look of shock off her face. He hadn't been just talking, he was actually really good at dancing, and had no problem keeping up with her. Which of course was a blow to her pride, and made her feel like she couldn't just let this challenge end so soon. The longer the kept him occupied, the smaller chance of him finding someone here to eat.
When the song ended, she smirked, "Not bad. Though to be fair, I've had more drink than you. Let's go, I'm buying you another one of those cocktail things so we can make this fair." She said, waving for him to follow her to the bar, where she ordered his drink, and a shot for herself.

"I told you I was an excellent dancer." The smugness looked like it wasn't going to leave Curry's face anytime soon. The man was practically glowing with pride. He deserved to have it when he knew he was good at something...but sometimes he went over the line with it.
He took his drink once the bartender dropped it off, downing it in slow sips. He savored the taste of alcohol. It took a lot of alcohol to get him smashed, and he couldn't get poisoning or brain damage from it.
He was watching her out of the corner of his eye. She seemed like a careful woman, but if she got drunk enough...it might be enough to let her guard down. He just hoped his companion was not home tonight--he didn't approve of Curry's sleeping around.

Her drink was easy enough to finish, though she waited patiently for him to finish his own. "So you got a name none-sparkly vampire? Or should I just make one up? Though I'm warning you, I probably won't make up one that you like." She pointed out, wondering if he'd make up a name or give his real one. A real one would give her boss something to work with, a fake one would take longer to track, though if she found the right biters, one of them might slip up and give out his actual name.
When he finally finished his drink, she grabbed his wrist and dragged him back onto the dance floor. "Come on, time for round two." Though she didn't realize round two would lead to three, then four, and slowly she quit keeping track of how many shots she was doing, too caught up in trying to out dance him. So much so that by Six and seven, the slower songs had her dancing closer to him than she realized.

As Curry finished his drink, he flashed her another one of his half-scary, half-charming grins. "You can call me Curry. I'd at least like something to call you. My nicknames are often not the nicest names to behold..." He seemed content with her, at the very least. She wasn't irritating, as he tended to find most women. In a nutshell, he usually preferred men to women...they were not as annoying and just cared about the sex.
When she grabbed his wrist, he gladly followed her. Even after so many drinks and so many rounds of dancing, Curry was not tired. He was just slightly feeling a buzz, but it wasn't anything strong. It took a lot to get him drunk.
During one of the slower songs, he found them closer than he would have liked at this point, but he didn't push anything...he would leave the pushing up to her. If she was interested, he had no reason to push it himself--he had tried that in the past and had gotten rejected for being too pushy.

After the end of one of the songs, she giggled a bit, "Curry. Like the food?", normally the giggling and awful jokes were a sign for her that she'd had too much too drink, she couldn't remember that last time she'd giggled like a school girl. She couldn't help it, she was enjoying herself, so much so that every now and again she'd forget what he was. "It's Elizabeth. I don't really like any short versions of it though, especially Liza or Beth." She said, making a disgusted face and shuddering as she said them.
When the slower song ended and she realized how close she'd gotten, she blushed and backed up a bit, feeling a bit silly for not thinking about what she was doing. Though she honestly wasn't doing a wonderful job thinking right now. The club was beginning to empty, and she wondered how late it was, closing was around 2, so it wasn't terribly late, but the city was dead by 3. "I think I scared off all your possible one night stands." She said, a bit sheepishly, though the giggle that followed showed she wasn't overly sorry about it. "Girls just can't keep up with my dancing." It was meant to be a joke, but came out a bit cocky as she threw back, what she promised herself, was the last shot of the night.

"Like the food, yes," Curry replied, smiling despite the fact that the joke was rather dry and he'd heard it a hundred times. Yes, his name was funny...he knew that much. But he liked it, and he wasn't about to change it. He offered his hand to her after that particular song. "It's nice to meet you, Elizabeth. Be proud that you have a normal name..."
Curry didn't seem bothered by the closeness at all. In fact, he moved closer when she backed away...not close enough to raise alarm, but enough to show that he certainly didn't mind being close to her. He knew the city was dead around three...he figured she would be leaving soon. Once again, he would go home both hungry and dissatisfied. He was hoping that she had gotten drunk enough to reconsider the unspoken offer.
"Oh, that's perfectly fine. Most nights I go home alone anyway. Are you sure you aren't up for a one-night stand? No holds barred...we never have to see each other again, if that's what you really want..." Curry paused. He was being too forward again.
"...The rave will end soon. Would you like a ride home? You, er...are not in the best condition to drive." A simple drive home could also end with her changing her mind...

Elizabeth made a noise, one that was simply to say he was talking crazy, though she wasn't sure if she was turning down his offer or trying to take him up on it. Hello? Vampire? No sleeping anywhere with him remember? The thought helped, but his question on a ride home made her quickly forget about it. "I'm within walking distance." She reassured, though wanted to smack herself for it, he wasn't suppose to know anything about where she was staying, it was rule number 1 that they never figure out where you're going afterward.
"If you're so lonely I'll walk you home." She said, patting his hand teasingly, though walking him home was just to make sure he didn't see where she was staying. That, and oh she was actually remembering her job, it would help her find him later. "Besides, I'm not the one who'd have issues seeing you again, you wouldn't like me very much if you saw me more than once." It sounded a bit sad, she wasn't suppose to be giving more hints about her job, so she was hoping it came out as more of a 'no one sticks around' than a 'I kill your kind for a living'. Unable to think straight, she did want to know just once, what it would be like to be around a vampire more than few minutes, actually get inside ones head.
Her head spun a little, and she had to hold his wrist to keep upright, "Besides, I don't want to go home yet. I'm up all night, going home early is boring."

"You can barely walk as it is," Curry pointed out, looking amused when she stumbled. "Let me drive you home. I would be a fool to let you go by yourself...you will fall and get hurt, or someone will harm you. I wouldn't want that happening...besides, my car is parked out front."
Curry seemed puzzled by her words about not liking her very much if he were to see her again. "...It's not like me to judge on a few first impressions. Besides, I would like to see you again sometime. You intrigue me." Honest words, at least. He was smiling again. It was hard to resist him when he smiled--he had such a peculiar smile. He was an oddity in itself...oddities attracted people...
He gently wrapped an arm around her shoulders so it was easier to keep her standing upright. "Come on. Let's drive you home. Unless you want to spend the night at my place--the offer still stands. We have extra rooms at home."

She'd never had anyone say she intrigued them before, it got her pride over flowing and her smiling again. The other issue with her drinking, she could get too touchy-feely. So while he put his arm around her to help her stand, she couldn't help but snuggle into his shoulder. "No I better go home, I'm drunk, I need to be sober to make decisions like that, I'd get more rough than you'd like." Like snapping out of her drunk daze halfway through it and figuring then was as good as anytime to get rid of him. That wouldn't be the most awkward intimate encounter of her life or anything.
Her place was just a rented room for the week, even if he knew where it was, it shouldn't be an issue, her real home was only a mile or two away, so she'd still be able to meet up with him, but if things went wrong, she wouldn't be at the room she was at now. "It's the Westbrook Apartments, down on Maple." She said, her voice sounding as sleepy as the drinks were beginning to make her feel. Though the night air helped her wake up a bit, she wondered if she'd manage to stay awake for the whole car ride back.
