A Second Chance (Lixxi and Kiako)
Kiako:
(A way for them to find each other again and will leave it open for other characters to come in later, plus we can do flash backs, and it gives us something a little new to work with XD Also keeps it a bit separate from our other stuff. <3) The castle was bustling with excitement as they prepared for the grand feast to announce the engagement of the Princess Eldawen. It made him sick to even think about it. Lucifer was pacing in the hall waiting for her to come from her room, knowing that this was the last thing she wanted. Her mother Melinda, someone Luce very much would like dead, had set up this engagement with a neighboring country to be rid of the poor girl. This Andrew that she was to be engaged to was a possessive overbearing ass as far as Luce was concerned and with Eldawen being just like a daughter to him he certainly did not want to see her with him. Lucifer had known that she had cried, tried to fight against it and in the end she had given in, tho he wasn't sure why. The whole thing was over done for his tastes and everyone that had any type of power had been invited. Kings and Queens from every country from Heaven to Hell. He sighed and knocked on her door again, this time she answered, on her face a forced smile. He hated seeing her like this. But he wasn't sure what else he could do. Offering his arm, which she took, he led her down to the Grand Hall. Luce had considered taking her and running away, but something compelled him to stay for the party. It was probably the invitation he knew had been sent to the Empress of the Underworld and her family. He doubted that she would come, knowing that she wasn't always one for these types of affairs. But he couldn't help but to hope that she would show up. He entered the hall, and of course Andrew was no where to be seen, meaning he was probably off drunk somewhere. As he let Eldawen go and mingle his eyes scanned the crowd looking for her. Even if he could only catch a glimpse of her. The one person he had loved, for her entire life. "I do hope you show Princess." Lucifer all but muttered to himself as he watched the crowds. His eyes falling back to the doors every few seconds as he saw she wasn't there yet. |
It had been a long time since Kiako had left the Underworld. The fresh air burned her lungs, and the sunlight felt like fire on her pale skin, but she very much enjoyed the change of scenery. She looked up at the clear blue skies, her deep purple eyes trying to adjust to the light. It wasn't long before staring up at the open sky gave the young woman a pounding headache. She adverted her eyes, looking forwards in the carriage. |
The Grand Hall was becoming packed with people. Eldawen was more appropriately dressed for a funeral, in her knee length dress black, no one would have guessed that she was suppose to be a blushing bride to be. She was thankful that she had yet to see Andrew, she didn't like the man. He was just as cruel as her mother and she was scared of him, but going against her mother wasn't something she could do. She moved to the front to great people when the Empress of the Underworld was announced with her children. Her father and Lucifer were friends of the Empress and she would be expected to greet her. Eldawen put on a smile as she slowly made her way towards the doors to greet her guests.
Seth smiled when Kiako was announced and approached her with a small smile. "Kiako, it has been a long time." He smiled and took her hand, kissing it lightly. "I am so happy that you could make it for our daughters engagement party." Melinda smiled and nodded at Kiako in greetings. Seth looked at the two accompanying Kiako. "Your children?" He glanced around looking for Eldawen but was unable to spot her in the crowd. Jai had spotted her as she came into Grand Hall. She was beautiful, but it appeared as if she was with her children. Watching her quietly as his father spoke to her he mingled with the crowd, making sure to stay fairly close by, keeping his eyes open for a chance to talk with her. Luce felt her as soon as she walked into the room. He stayed in the shadows watching her face, remembering it just as it was the last time he had seen her. He did nothing to hide that he was there, but did not make himself known. Kiako Lee. The last time he had seen her her children had been no older than five and now they were grown. He watched as Seth spoke with her and glanced around the room looking for Eldawen, not catching sight of her before he looked back to Kiako. As soon as she was alone he would speak with her, maybe ask her for a dance. It had been far to long since he had danced with her. |
Kiako laughed when Seth approached her. It had been far too long since she had seen him. He was much younger last time, and his smile seemed much more genuine. She frowned a little when she saw the woman at his side. Kiako had never really liked the woman, and could easily see through her fake precious smile. Before Seth could notice, however, Kiako painted the smile once again across her face, but her tone was quiet. "That is has been Seth Estelle. That is has been. You had no children last we met, and mine were still young." She brought her two children forth. |
Seth could only chuckle at Kiako. As always she was polite and well mannered. Her children seemed to take after her in that regard. He could only manage to nod before Kiako had slipped into the crowd with her children. "Like the wind, coming and going just as quickly." Seth said quietly to Melinda. Melinda smiled up at him and nodded. She hadn't failed to gather that Kiako's son was heir and was already plotting to arrange his marriage to one of her other daughters.
--- Jai smiled when he saw her slip into the crowd and approached her quietly from behind. "Lady Kiako?" He asked as he tapped her on the shoulder. He was smiling slightly and was planning on asking her for a dance, he could only hope that her answer would be favorable. --- Luce watched her carefully from the shadows and smiled as she interacted with others. Her children had slipped off into the crowd and now would have been the perfect time to grab her attention. He had gone to step forward when Kiako was approached. Luce sighed as he watched Seth's eldest spoke with her and faded back into the shadows to wait for his next chance. --- She had to get out of the room. Andrew has still not shown his face, which she could only be grateful for. Eldawen had excused herself from one of the many guests that had been hounding her about how she had fallen in love with Andrew and once she was able she slipped from the room and then hurried out of the castle and into the garden. Her mother had planned for the event to be inside so no one would find her here. She wandered the grounds for a bit and couldn't help but to lean in to smell the roses. |
Kiako turned and growled abruptly, but quickly calmed down. "Forgive me..." She said in a quiet tone as her fangs retreated back to their normal size. "I am just not very used to people touching me." She offered a small smile and the young man. He was handsome, much like his father. She could tell by simple appearance this young man was Seth's son, and probably one of the Elder children by the looks of it. She then bowed to him slightly before retaking his gaze. "Forgive me, I do not know who you are." |
Jai chuckled at her reaction and bowed. "Forgive me for being so forward. My name is Jai Estelle, Seth is my father." Smiling gently at her he offered her his hand. "I was hoping that you would do me the honor of dancing with me my Lady." She was beautiful and he could barely take his eyes off of her. He waited quietly for her answer.
--- He had spotted her across the room; her blue hair had grabbed his attention. She was breathtaking and when she approached him he barely managed a smile. Felix, ever the gentleman, bowed in return when she introduced herself before taking her hand and kissing it lightly. "Felix Estelle. My father is host of this farce they call a party." Smiling as he releases her hand he looks around the room searching the crowd before bringing his attention back to her. "Tzipporah." He said, enjoying the way her name rolled off his tongue. "What has brought you to this...joyous event?" --- Eldawen was determined, she wasn't going back in. She couldn't stand the thought of one more person giving her well wishes on something she wanted no part of. She wandered through the gardens moving further away from the castle. She was sure if she talked to her father he would cancel this whole engagement, but that would mean having to deal with her mother's punishments. Running her hand lightly over her side she watched as some birds took flight. "How wonderful it would be to simply fly away." --- Luce had nearly laughed out loud at Kiako's reaction. How he had missed seeing her. He watched her quietly to see what she would do, wishing it was him that she was about to dance with. Luce told himself he would grab the next dance. He was having a hard time keeping to the shadows. |
Kiako looked up at the boy. He had long black hair, and it sat nicely groomed over his suit. His eyes were accented by the lighting around them, and something about his eyes drew her in. She smiled softly at him, taking his hand. "A dance? Yes, I think I would very much enjoy a dance, Jai Estelle." She chuckled softly. It was amusing to her their age difference. She knew Seth was no more than 25 thousand, making his son at most 15 thousand, and here she was pushing two hundred thousand. |
Jai smiled. As they waltzed on the dance floor he couldn't help but notice she was an excellent dancer, he assumed it came with her title. "You can call my Jai my lady." With a small chuckle he spun her around the floor. "You have done this before." Smiling at her he looked up when he saw Lucifer step out of the shadows as the dance was coming to its end. "What brings you to this...event Lady Kiako?"
--- Lucifer has stepped out of the shadows when he heard the song coming to an end. He had wasted to many years hiding in the shadows from her. He couldn't take it anymore and simply wanted to hold her in his arms. He watched with a small smile as she waltzed and even tho the two of them looked wonderful, he knew that no one would have been able to take their eyes off the dance floor if it was the two of them dancing out there. --- Felix smiled at her as she got out her mouthful. "So Lucifer's wife then?" Chuckles a little. "I thought Luce was only making an appearance today." He looked around the room again noticing when Andrew entered stumbling slightly, he tried hard not to growl, but casually slipped an arm around Tzipporah's waist. "Would you care for a dance Tzipporah?" He smiled gently at her until he was all but tackled from behind. "Damn it Ari! I told you not to do that." --- Arianna chuckled as she tackled Felix who was talking with a beautiful blue haired girl. "Sorry, but I figured I would say hi before trying to find the guest of honor." With a small sigh she fixed his tie quickly and then looked up at him with a frown. "Eldawen has of course gone missing." Ari turned then and smiled at the girl her brother was with. "Hello." Ari said with a small bow. "My name is Arianna Estelle. It is a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for coming to this horrible excuse for a party and forced engagement." Smiles brightly at the girl. "If you want to start a ruckus please feel free!" She chuckled a little as she looked around the room and then looked at Felix. "He isn't such a bad dancer actually. You might want to take him up on his offer. Felix doesn't normally get out much." Laughing a little she gives Tzip a wink. --- Andrew had walked into his engagement party only to find that his soon to be fiancée was no where to be seen. He had already had one to many drinks and was very annoyed that she would think she could shame him like this. Being polite as he mingled he set out to find Eldawen. She wasn't going to get away with not being punished this time. --- Eldawen was surprised by the voice and her hand went to her heart before she realized it wasn't Andrew or one of her brothers that she had to fear. She smiled at him, for some reason relaxed around him and tilted her head. "Is it really?" She watched the birds as they disappeared in the sky with a sad smile. "It is something I would like to try once." Smiling at him again she takes her first good look at him and realizes that he is very handsome. "Would you mind if I join you?" Looks around and then shakes her head at herself. "I am sorry, how rude of me." Curtsying deeply to him she smiles. "I am Eldawen Estelle. It is a pleasure to meet you." |
