Lance looked back and could see she was in great pain. Her horse was still tied to his own so he simple sent his horse forward and her's followed. She needed help but the riding would be horribly painful so he was unsure what pace to set. Finally he decided that speed would be best but instead of a full out gallop he set the pace at a canter. "Are you alright?" He called back to her.

Victoria, and her horse stayed in the same place, her hands shaking. "Are you alright?" He asked. Ha! Well she was about to reply "Of course I am! What do you think?" But the truth potion was still active. "No, I'm terrified." She face palmed, realizing the truth came out. She hoped that he wouldn't ask why since she would give him the answer. Don't ask...Please...Don't...Don't. She pleaded to herself. But she knew that the prince liked to ask questions.

Lance turned quickly to find that she wasn't moving. He slowed his horse and turned her around to go back. "Why are you terrified? Of all the people I never would have guessed you."

Victoria, everso wanted to shout out, "None of your business!" But as her mouth opened. She regretted it. "I am a dragon. The sound of hooves smashing against the ground. I know it all too well. Knights chase after dragons with horses you know. A horse, and a man riding it, is what I see when one of my Kin die." She let out a sigh. "But ignore that. I don't know how to ride a horse either. This is not really what dragons use as transportation. "

Lance sighed but he could understand that fear. He should have realized. He lead his horse to stand next to her's. He jumped off his horse for a moment and pulled the saddle off. It wouldn't work for what he had planned. He simply let it drop to the ground. Then he pulled himself back up on the horse and sat on the saddle blanket. He reached over and grabbed Victoria and pulled her to sit in front of him. He made sure her horse was still tied to his then un hooked it's bridel. He used it to tie the staff to his back then flicked the reigns sending the horses forward. "That better?"

Victoria blushed a little. Embarrassed that she had blurted that out. She was also a bit embarrassed that he had to do this for her. "Yes." She said in a low voice. Her hands where still shaking though, still frightened of the horse. "We've wasted a lot of time. Best if we hurry."

The moon was high in the sky, and Victoria could barely keep her eyes open as she sat in front of Lance. Her face was still red with embarrassment, and she didn't know if he would notice her pink cheeks. As the time passed, the moon was going down, and the sun was slowly coming up. "Lance. . . I'm exhausted." She whined. Not realizing that she used his first name. "Please, could we just. . . Find someplace to rest?" She asked, not knowing if she could take much more.

Lance immeditatly halted the horse. He slid off making sure not to move her off. His legs were sore from riding bare back. He walked the horse till he found a creek. He turned the horses off the path and followed it a bit away till they were blocked from view of the path by bouldars. It wasn't the best to make camp but it would work. He turned to Victoria and carefully helped her down. He held onto her arm till her legs seemed like they wouldn't buckle.

He let go of her hand and turned back to the horses. He took the sadle off the second horse and rubbed them both down then tied them down so that they could get to the creek. He turned back to Victoria. "Are you ok?" It was so weird to see her like this. For her to show weakness. He knew he had asked her this question before but he couldn't help but wonder.

"I'm--" Victoria paused. "I'm--" She seemed to be struggling with letting the words get out. "I'm fine." Lie. The potion had lost it's effect.

She laid down on the grass, and closed her eyes. She actually felt quite ill. But why should she tell him that? "You should get some rest too. We will continue traveling. . . In a few hours." her head fell to the side. She was asleep. Basically knocked out.

But while she was asleep, her breathing was heavy, and she was sweating.

Lance sighed. Looks like the potion wore off. He watched her as she fell asleep. He was really worried about her. This couldn't be normal. He walked over to the the creek and wet his hankerchief in it. He walked back over to Victoria and wiped her face off. He laid the cooling cloth on her forhead then sat leaning against one of the stones. Instead of sleeping he watched her.

A few hours later, Victoria woke up. She slowly sat up, and then glanced at Lance. "I said I'm fine." She glared at him. She looked better, but she still looked ill. "Let's go. . ." She let out a sigh, as she slowly stood up. It seemed like her wound was better, but not completely healed. Some germs must have gotten into the wound. That's why I'm so feverish. She thought.

Lance stood up, sighing as he went. We should rest longer. She doesn't look good. He pulled the mare, that hadn't carried them, over. She had a narrower back so it wouldn't be as bad. Lance quickly tied the other horse to the mare. He carefully picked up Victoria and put her on the mare and then climbed up too. He set the horses off before he looked at her again. "What is the plan? Are we just trying to get away from those other people?"

Victoria didn't reply back to Lance. Mostly because she was frightened of the horse. But, she didn't want to reply to him. She didn't want to state the truth that she didn't think she could handle them. So she was thinking of some other way to explain it. She finally came up with something to say. "Well obviously the crops in the other village are burning into ash. We can 'buy' food in the next town." She let out a small sigh.

- Time skip -

The village was bustling with people. It was a lively morning. Once they got to the entrance of the village, Victoria reached over, and grabbed a blanket from a clothes line. Thankfully it was hung the day before, and the person who owned it forgot to take it back into the house, so the blanket was dry. Victoria wore the blanket like a cloak, and she hid her face under the hood. "We should find a local doctor. Get some medicine from him. Here." Victoria took off the boot from her uninjured leg. There was a secret compartment in there that held some gold coins. She took that out and handed it to Lance. "Just get the medicine. I don't want anyone seeing my face."

Lance sighed at her explenation but didn't say anything since it wouldn't get him anywhere.

He started to say something when she stole the blanket but stopped. They really couldn't afford another battle. And really he was distracted by her trusting him. She just gave me gold and told me to go find someone. I could run off while she is weak. He slid off the horse and grounded the bridle so she wouldn't wonder off. "I'll be right back."

He ran off into the crowd. As soon as he saw a kindly looking woman, who wasn't busy, he walked over. "I'm sorry madame but could you till me where the local healer is?" He thanked her after she told him the way and soon found the healer. "Sir I have a friend who is hurt. She could not come here but she sent me. She cut herself and needs medicine." The healer gave him the herbs and medicines and Lance paid him the left the store. He ran all the way back to Victoria.

Victoria let out a small sigh as she watched Lance vanish into the crowd. Idiot. I am an idiot. He could easily run away. But who cares? Even without him I could heal. . . It'd just take longer. . . It'd be more villages I could burn. She thought as she tried to stay awake on the mare. She thought she'd stay awake if she just looked around. So she watched the people go by. . . She looked at the various shops from a far. . . There was actually a book trader not to far. She could tell some of the books he was selling from where she was at.

"Get yer' books. Fiction, Non-fiction, Poetry, History, and all that."

Victoria clearly heard his voice. She noticed a book that said "The greatest treasures". How she did want to go see what it was. But she didn't want to move. One man, walked up to the seller, picked up the book, and started skimming through the pages.

"Sir there has been a mistake. This has been placed in the Non-fiction area. But this is clearly fiction. I mean, the great fountain of wish's, is only but a myth."

Victoria perked up.

"No lad, that is real. . . At least that is what I believe. But i'd rather ye not think of me as an old crazy geezer. So you may place it in the fiction if ye are not going to buy."

The man placed the book down in the fiction area.

"I'm not one for fairy tales sir."

The man walked away. Fountain of wishes? I must get that book! Victoria thought, and then she saw Lance coming from the distance. "Do you still have some gold to spare?" She asked once he was near enough to hear her.

Lance stopped in his tracks. I really didn't expect that. He thought about how much he had been given back. "Yes, the medicine didn't cost much. Why?"

Victoria's face lit up like a child on christmas day. "See that old man over there? He's selling a book called 'The greatest treasures' Go on, and buy it!" She said, with no respect in her voice. She then looked down to her leg. She wasn't in quite the position to be giving orders. . . So she added: ". . . Please . . ."

Lance could tell it nearly killed her to say please so he simply smiled and went to the book seller. He quickly skimmed the books and pulled out the book she had asked for. He paid for the book and was given his change. He was given back two coins, a medium value coin and the lowest value coin. He smiled at the man and handed the smallest value coin back to the man. "Thank you sir for the book. Books should be valued more." He turned back and walked to Victoria. Reaching her he handed her the book and the last coin.

Victoria snatched the book and coin from his hand. She had seen his generous act. "Wasted a coin." She mumbled under her breath, before looking at the contents page in the book. "Fountain of Wishes....Fountain of Wishes...I hope that old man's blathering was the truth." She started talking to herself, before she came unto the page she wanted. The story told of a fountain, that granted any wish. Hence the name. It was located in a nearby forest to where they where at. Though in the book it said that only the kind-hearted, and pure would be able to find it. "Why- That is not true! I can certainly be able to find it, kind-hearted or not." She laughed. "Come on Princey, we are going to travel into a forest. Got anything to say or do before we head out?" She asked since she was in such a good mood.

((Sorry I haven't replied in ages...I was busy preparing for a trip...Which leads me to say that I will also be gone tomorrow, but back on monday.))

When Lance heard her start mumbling about wishes he saw where this was going. He was rather suprised by her question though. "Uh, should we take care of your wounds? Or maybe eat something? And if we're going into a forest would it be best to get supplies, or something to keep bears and wolves at bay? And a bath would have been nice." He was picturing running off into the trees with nothing, other then the two horses and their walking sticks. Shivering in the cold, going hungry, and then finally being eaten by a bear.
