Lucifer shrugged. "Not that great," he sighed and sat on the ground. His mind was swirling, he was seeing splotches of colours, but instead of saying anything, he looked out to the crowd at an Asian woman. "She was watching me closely, and she seemed to be...Examining me. I noticed her during Adam's act..." he spoke slowly, keeping an eye on her. "It looked like she was carrying a paper, but I couldn't read it all the way up there...Just watch her," his voice became soft at the end, and he clasped his hand over his face, groaning quietly. His head was hurting so bad. Something wasn't right with him. As he sat there, his face became hot, his head spun like crazy.

"Better then if it was me. They would still be picking up the peices. And I'm betting there were a lot of women examining you." He looked down at Lucifer. "Are you alright? You don't look too good."

Scarlett had absolutely loved Lucifer's act completely . She had blushed slightly when he winked at her and had her gaze on him the whole time. What he did was amazing! And he acted like it was nothing. When she saw him go over by Rythen and noticed that something seemed wrong with Lucifer. He looked sick, even from where she was standing. Since she had a few more acts to go before her own she made her way over to him and Rythen, giving Rythen a nod of hello before touching Lucifer's shoulder. "You okay? You did an amazing job by the way.." She said, noticing their eyes looking towards an Asian girl in the crowd who was watching a few of the acts.

Emily: Emily looked towards the crowd once again."Well, I guess it's my turn." She muttered to herself. Finally! Emily was so excited to perform in front of the audience. She took a deep breath and walked towards the curtain. Emily looked to her right and saw Adam and Cire together. She walked up to them. "Hey Adam, nice performance. But, Cire, are you peforming tonight?" She asked looking towards the curtain again. She didn't want to keep the audience waiting. Emily turned her head to Cire. "I'm so nervous. I know I shouldn't be but I don't want to mess up and make a fool out of myself." It really wasn't that much pressure to go and perform. She's ben doing it for years. That thought calmed Emily's nerves a little. "Uhm, sorry we didn't really get to talk much but, I got to go perform now." She took a deep breath and walked out the curtain. No one saw her though, because that was part of the act. Emily would walk up to random people; reappear, then "Disappear". They think it's magic. Ha. Emily walked through the crowd and walked next to a Hunter on accident. There was an empty seat next to him, so she sat there and "Reappeared". "Hello sir....." Emily whispered in his ear. The man looked at her with no expression. Okay.....somebody else then...... Emily "Disappeared" again and walked towards Rythen and Lucifer. She stood in front of them and "reappeared". "Hi you two." She and winked. Emily once again "Disappeared" and "Reappeared" in front of the stage. Almost everyone in the crowd was shocked and asked the person next to them, "Did you see her walk up there?!" "No, did you?" A common question for that. "Hello everyone! And thank you for coming!" Emily's voice echoed in each of the audience's ears. Just for fun, she asked someone to come and help her with an act. She picked a little girl in the back row. She ran up stage quickly. "Hi sweetie." She said to the little girl. Emily turned herself and the girl to the audience. Emily pulled out a long white blanket out of nowhere. "Watch the girl." She rapped the sheet all around her and pulled it off immediately. No one saw her, but she was still there. It was the same trick she used for herself. The little girl was confused and looked at Emily. She told the girl to walk back to her seat and then everyone wouldsee her again. She obeyed and everyone was amazed. Everyone clapped and the girl felt so happy with herself. Next! Emily walked around the stage with authentic slow dancing that would make your mind almost dizzy. She talked in loud and quiet voices that bounced around the room. Emily said some of the audiences names which amazed them. "Lucy Peterson.........John Mataki........." She continued saying names for about a minute or so hen stopped dancing and talking. The audience once again clapped for the act. Emily proudly bowed. Last act. Now she made herself look like different people. Some famous, some legendary, and some people in the crowd. She even acted like them that it would make you think. "Is that real or is my mind playing tricks on me?" Ha ha. Once it was over, the audience clapped and Emily proudly walked away with a big smile on her face of contentment. ---------- OOC : Thanks! I forgot the name for the Lion so I just said baby lion.......oops! :3 Adam: Adam watched as Emily walked towards him and Cire. Emily had said that she liked his act. "Thanks, I bet yours is going to turn out great too. Oh and thanks for the illusion fire. It made me feel better for my animals." He noticed that she was anxious to go and perform. "Oh uh, have fun!" Adam said looking at Cire remembering that she said almost the same thing. Emily left and was going to perform. "Hey Cire, you want ot come and sit with me in the audience? We can watch all the performers together." He hoped that she would say yes. Plus, he really wanted to see everyone perform. He already missed two, why miss another? Adam offered his hand out to her. "I already see two seats open next to each other. We can sit there if you like?" He pointed to the seats with his other hand. They were pretty near the front row too. Just say yes and take my hand Cire..... Adam was pretty anxious now, they were going to miss Emily's act, and hopefully, they wouldn't miss the next one either. He looked to Cire again. "So, what do you say?" |
Lucifer looked at Scarlett and nodded, his face paler than usual. He got the shakes, his hands turning ice cold. "I'm sure I'm fine!" he nodded more, his head automatically pounding as he did so. "Shit!" he groaned, then lay back on the ground. Closing his eyes, he breathed deeply, his hands resting on his bare stomach.
~ Mellie watched everything, from the acrobat's face turning green, to Adam holding his hand out to Cire. Sighing, she rested her elbows on her knees, and her chin in her hand. She watched the little girl disappear, and Emily change forms. Smiling, she clapped with the audience at the end. She took the note back out and re-read it, then slipped it into her bra, sighing softly. "Damn.." She thought of herself as shy, timid, and happy. She was never a leader, only a petty follower. No one knew she though of herself in this kind of way. She made herself out to be a strong woman, but it was a true fact that she was only a little girl. |
Scarlett's eyes widened a little. "Lucifer do you want me to get you to your tent?" She asked, watching as he turned pale. "You should probably go rest.." She said, looking at his much paler face. She would've tried to help him to his room but she didn't want him to get mad at her if he didn't feel like getting up.

Rythen knew something was wrong but he couldn't help Lucifer. He wasn't a healer and didn't even carry tylenol. "I'll be right back." He ran out the back entrance and ran around to the front. He looked till he found Ahanna and Millie. Running up to them he grabbed Ahanna's arm. "There is something wrong with Lucifer. Maybe you can give him something to help. I'm sorry Millie she will be right back. Don't move." Before either of them could say anything he had dragged Ahanna out of the tent and around to the back. He pushed her towards Lucifer.
Ahanna just went with it. When she saw Lucifer she could see he was ill. "Hey Lucifer. What's wrong? I might have something for you to take to help you." |
Walking into the backstage area the twins spotted everyone. Well almost everyone..it was strange to them that so many were back there. Usually they were out watching the performances. The twins themselves were usually out watching but today they were running around making sure everyone was ok. Spotting Lucifer on the ground they calmly walked over and looked over him. "Is he just feeling sick or did a hunter attack him?" Azra asked in a calm tone. Having been warriors for their village the twins often took up hunting and fighting the hunters. They needed to eliminate the threat.

Lucifer laughed as everyone crowded around him. "If you lead me to my tent, something would go down," he grinned. That infamous grin...Staring from Ahanna to Scarlett, he sighed. They were equally beautiful, much like Doll. But Scarlett had a certain...Glow. Everything she did was graceful. She was just originally beautiful, at everything...Every single thing... Lucifer sat up and then stood up, feeling the dizziness pass. "Thank you guys, but I am fine," he smiled, wiping his wide back off. He bowed to all of them, and turned around, and walked out. He walked to his tent, and the whole time, he examined everything. The birds, the bees, the bugs. He noticed people arriving late, most of the women staring at him. He groaned. Nothing was as beautiful as Scarlett. He entered his tent, and threw his coat to the side, not even watching it land on the other dirty clothes. Taking his belt off, he sneezed and pushed his pants off. "Relief!" he yelled, and jumped onto his bed. Laying there, he listened closely, in case something went wrong. Whilst laying there, he was just wishing for Scarlett to come waltzing in.

Scarlett watched as he quickly walked out. "Someone come tell me when it gets close to my act.." She said, following after Lucifer and peaking her head into his tent. She noticed that he was barely wearing anything but it didn't face her. "Want me to get you water or anything? I know you said you were fine but... I had to make sure." She said, brushing her bangs out of her eyes and letting her eyes fall onto his chest and then back up to his face. "Sorry for bothering you but I worry easily.." She said, looking towards her feet. She knew he'd probably be annoyed with her but she couldn't do her act easily knowing Lucifer was sick.

Lucifer beckoned Scarlett over to him, sitting up. He didn't speak, all he wanted was for her to sit down. His hair sprawled out down his back and over his chest, which was slightly perspired. He watched the woman in the dim light. He liked his tent dark, it helped his relax whenever he got anxious, or anything.

Scarlett walked gracefully over to him and sat down next to him, her hand running gently over his as she looked at him. Most women wouldn't have gone by a man in this type of light but she had no reason not too. She was obviously attracted to him and cared whether he was hurt or not so she stayed quiet, waiting for an answer.

Rythen sighed as Lucifer stood up and brushed past all of them. "Well then I guess he is fine. Ahanna let us go back to Mellie. I hope there is room enough for me." He turned to the twins. "Lucifer said he saw a suspicious Asian woman in the crowd. I don't know who it was though." He turned and started walking out of the tent and around back to where Mellie was sitting. "May I sit with you and Ahanna?"
Ahanna watched as Lucifer pushed past her barely glancing at her. She nodded when Rythen asked to sit with her and Mellie. She followed behind him as they walked back to their seats. She slid into her spot leaving room for Rythen. She looked around looking for the woman he had spoke of. |
Smiling, Lucifer grabbed her hand and pulled her into his lap, hugging her tightly. He ran his fingers through her hair and closed his eyes, holding her gently, yet strong. "Scarlett.." he murmured, tightening his grip. "I beg of you...Don't be upset..." he whispered in her ear. "I am caught...It's not love, but it's not a crush...But it's not just with you..As you may have noticed, Rythen and I...Have something.." Before he let her speak, he continued. "I don't want you to be jealous...You are beautiful..But please let me figure myself out?"

Cire shook her head no, smiling towards Emily none the less, glad Emily and Adam worked together for the illusionary fire.. After all, she adored those animals like no other. ''You know I only perform when someone's sick, or just needs a random person to help them.'' She said, as always smiling. ''Oh you won't! Emily, you're emily. That only should do it. The fact you are an awesome inllusionist doesn't lessen the fact your act will succeed either!'' She grinned, watching the girl go, nodding at her words. Both don't talk a lot, so somewhere it's logical they don't talk to each other that many. And that while both have been at this circus longer than 5 years... The woman blinked as Adam offered his hand, and she knew there was almost nothing sadder than a hand left in the open and neglected. It had something.. Abandoned about it. She rolled her eyes, taking a moment to act as if she was deeply thinking. ''Of course I would like that~ Will be fun.'' She said, taking his hand happily. Everyone knew there wasn't anything between them, she was about 2000 years old and he simply wasn't. ''Let's go, we don't want to miss anything right?'' She grinned, walking with him towards the seats. (a little godmod, but you don't mind I hope?) A broad smile played her face as Emily performed, sure she couldn't actually see it, but hearing the gasps of surprise just made made her visualize everything. She did notice something was wrong with the acrobat, and that only made her a little bit on her... Nerves. She already knew that he would be clustered by everyone in the back when they moved over there... Which in it's own way probably was not how to cure anything. When most people came back, she sighed relieved. Everyone in the circus was family after all. |
Scarlett listened as he spoke and turned a little to look at him. "I'm not upset. Everyone has multiple people they have their eyes for." She said softly, giving him a small smile to show that it was fine. "It may not be me you have your eyes for after you figure it all out.. but if it is you know where to find me." She said, running a hand threw his hair as she looked at him. She didn't love him since she had just lately grown a fondness to him so it wouldn't kill her to see him with others if he was happy. When he talked of beauty again she leaned her head on his shoulder, now sort of facing him while in his lap. "You shouldn't let yourself get caught on beauty... because unlike Rythen, someday I will grow old." She whispered, frowning slightly. [B]"And then i'll no longer be good looking while others in this circus are still young and beautiful." She hated to think of getting old and never being able to get on the high wire or hear the circus music whenever she performed.

Lucifer stopped and rested a hand on the back of her head. "You're afraid..." he whispered, and after around five minutes of silence, he finally came to realization. Looking out into the distance of his tent, he smiled and leaned her back, staring into her eyes. "You are correct, he will not grow old...And no matter how old you are.." he ran his thumb over her cheek and smiled. "You will never lose that special glow you have." Sliding her off his lap, and onto his bed, Lucifer took off the Immortality Rose Pendant Necklace from his mother, and slid it around Scarlett's neck. "With this, you will never grow old...My mother gave it to me before her passing, and ever since then, I have kept it close to my heart all this time," he paused to take a breath. "I may not be in love with you...But you deserve it more than anyone else here," he smiled and kissed her forehead, running his fingers over it, one last time. 'She'll make you proud, mother..'
~ Mellie watched Ahanna walk away. She watched all the commotion, mainly Rythen. He gave Lucifer a certain look that she wanted him to give her. As she looked around, she watched every single person. Her eyes darting with every movement. There was too much for Mellie to handle...The noises, the commotion, the everything. One hand on her stomach, she watched Ahanna come back. "I have to get a drink of cold water," she smiled, then got up and ran past Adam, bumping him accidentally, causing her to trip and stumble, but not fall. "I'm so sorry!" she apologized, bowing quickly, then ran towards the tent where she went for breakfast. Grabbing a green cup, she chugged an ice-cold cup of water, ignoring the risk of brain freeze. At first she couldn't believe what she heard, but when she looked down at the necklace she couldn't help but find it very beautiful, and looked back up at Lucifer, instantly believing him. When he kissed her forehead she took his hand. "You don't have to give this to me if it means so much to you.." She whispered. She thought it was very sweet of him to give it to her but his mother had given it to him.. and from experience, Scarlett would've killed to have anything of her mother's after her mother passed.
Scarlett released his hand and took a crimson rose out of her hair, thorns and all. Every act she would take a rose from her hair, kiss it and then throw it out into the crowd for some love struck boy to grab. But not tonight. She handed him the rose and leaned forward, kissing him softly on the left side of his face. "Tonight you'll be the person with the rose for what you have done.. and I'm sorry I cannot give you something as special as you have given me. To repay you i'd have to give you the world.. but I cannot." She said, frowning a little. "But even if you fall for someone else, i'll always love you for giving me this." She said, her fingers running gently over the necklace. She didn't love him just yet, but she loved what he had just given her, immortality. ((xD Mushy is right.)) |
Ahanna sighed when Mellie ran off she started to follow after her but Rythen stopped her.
"Stay here Ahanna. Keep an eye out. I'll go get her." He waited till she had sat down then turned and followed Millie. He ran after her into the mess tent. When he walked inside she was drinking water. "Millie are you alright? You really shouldn't be alone with the hunters here. |
Lucifer held the rose gently, and smiled at the woman, smelling it. His eyes closed. Roses...The main thing he and his mother loved together. Every day, they went out and picked fresh roses for the house. He smiled as he smelled the rose, letting the scent overpower him as he thought back.
"Mama?!" a young Lucifer called out, from the huge rose bush off the left side of the deck. His mother came running over, then noticed all the cuts on his body from the bush. He stood there, in the middle, holding the perfect red rose. Being a child, he didn't know what was what, so, wanting to treasure this rose, he clung to it. His hand was bleeding, the thorns deep inside his small hand. "Lucifer!" she gasped, then reached in and slowly wiggled him out of the bush. "Why were you in there?" she asked, taking the rose from him. When he opened his hand, it was cut up and some skin was actually hanging off of his palm, making his mother clasp her hand over her mouth in disgust. "Mama..." he said, picking a thorn out, his short black hair glimmering in the sun. "It's perfect, just like you!" ~ Mellie looked over and finished her water, getting some more. "Go away, I can take care of myself," she snapped, turning away from him. She was used to being alone, so why was this bothering her so much? Shaking her head at herself, she sighed and chugged the glass of water, letting some drip down her chin and neck. She coughed, choking slightly on the water, but once again, she got more. |
Scarlet watched as he seemed to take in the rose. She had always loved them. When her younger brother died she and her mother had planted a huge rose garden for him with beautiful statues and a sign that said 'Joshua's Garden'. She figured that Lucifer had something with roses as well since the necklace also had roses on it. After losing Joshua and her mother, it had become a tradition for her to have a rose with her at all times. So for her act she would always give one to someone special she saw in the crowd. But tonight he was the only one she had her eyes on. "Roses remind me so much of my brother.. He'd be eight in August." She said softly, a small tear running down her face. And when another one fell as well she could name them both. Momma and Joshua. She wiped her eyes before Lucifer could see and ran her hand over his shoulder. "I promise that someday i'll pay you back to this.. somehow.." She paused, looking down at her chest to look at the necklace once more. It was just so beautiful.. "Whats the one thing you want in this world that a poor circus girl could buy?" She asked, giving a weak smile. She had no money but hopefully she could give him something sentimental.

Rythen thought about following her wishes but he didn't want to leave her alone. He knew he could just go outside and that staying might upset her enough that she wouldn't have anything to do with him. "I'm sorry but I can't leave Mellie. I'm sure you can take care of yourself but there is a reason why we all live here. If I left and something happened to you I would never forgive myself. I can't let someone else I care for get hurt. And I do care for you." He paused then laughed. "And if I left now Ahanna would just come back in a few moments. But I'd rather be the one here for you." He wanted to walk over to her but he stayed by the tent opening.

Lucifer smiled to Scarlett and pulled her into a hug. "My mother and I used to pick roses together, just for the hell of it...And the last day we went out, she gave me that very necklace..." he thought for a second. He couldn't think of anything that would satisfy him, besides a fresh human soul...But he knew she wouldn't go that far. He knew -he- wouldn't, if he was asked. Unless it was a pitiful hunter. They deserved to get their soul sucked from them... "I know!" he said, suddenly. He pushed her away softly, but held onto her arms. "I want you to pick flowers with me...And give up an entire day for me!" His grin widened, knowing this probably sounded strange, coming from the darkest man at the circus, but he meant it. ..An entire life, for one day.
~ Mellie turned and looked at Rythen, her emotions getting the better of her. "Go look after your petty boyfriend," she scowled, then drank her water, only to get more. Her thirst was over the top, she felt like a fish. She felt her body temperature rise, but she kept calm, hoping it would go away. She had no words for Rythen, even though she knew Adam liked her. Wait. Adam. Where was the note?! Frantically, she checked where she remembered putting it, in her bra, but it wasn't there. "Oh no.." she said and fell to the ground, on her knees, her hands over her face. "I must have dropped it when I hit into Adam..." she muttered, then moved her hands. Why did she care about any of these people? She barely knew them, and they barely knew her. |
Scarlett smiled, her eyes lighting up. "I'd love to spend a whole day with you and pick flowers.. there's a whole lot of em pretty close to where we are.." She said, remembering of how she saw tons of flowers when she had been walking in the woods behind the circus tents. "And of course, you may pick the day that we go." She said, her eyes looking back at his. "I never really got anything to remember my mother by.. except a picture of Joshua, her and I." She said,, wishing that her act was done and over with so she could just hold onto him and fall asleep while listening to him speak of his beautiful mother and his past. "So your giving me an eternity to live.. and I only give you a day?" She figured that didn't exactly sound like a fair trade. "What if you got a kiss as well?" She asked, raising on eyebrow with a small grin.

Rythen sighed. Relationships were so messy. This just reminded him why he hadn't been in one in all of his many years. When she fell to the ground he ran over to her. "You dropped a note? If you dropped it in the tent Ahanna would have picked it up. I know she watched us till we left the tent. It will be alright. And just so you know I don't have a boyfriend. I flirted with Lucifer and nothing more. He is pretty but there would never be anything more then a fling between us. We will end up being friends, maybe slightly more, but nothing more. Have you ever thought of the reason why my mount is a unicorn?" He stood up. "When your ready we can go back and get your letter. If you want to be alone after that Ahanna can walk with you back somewhere and will sit outside the tent. Ahanna will not say anything."
He walked back to the tent opening and looked out of it. He started talking to himself. "For a hundred and fifty years people have been pushing themselves at me and in one day I find two people I like. Only one of which I could see in my life and I've ruined it." |
