“I knew you were a little loony, but I didn’t think you were serious about dragging me along to the Weasley house.” Draco proclaimed, as images of little bushy red headed babies, crawled through his head. Though, Luna had assured him that the Weasel and the Mudblo- sorry, Weasley and Granger – sorry Weasley and Weasley now; had not yet produced any offspring.
“You’re so negative some times; perhaps you were exposed to too many Larnixs’ as a child.” Luna said airily, ignoring his protests.
“I told you I didn’t want to go, and I’m sure I won’t be welcome.” Draco said, his steel eyes meeting her blue ones in one last, pleading effort.
“Well, you were awfully good at prancing around places you weren’t very welcome in school you know.” She said, meeting his eyes with a raised brow.

Draco rolled his eyes, scoffed, and gave his signature sneer before looking back across the table at Luna, who was currently wearing a pair of bright blue rimmed glasses, adorned with what appeared to be purple acorns. She was reading the leading article that was to be posted in the Quibbler next week – An article commemorating the deaths of those who fought against He Who Must Not Be Named. It would mark the five year anniversary of the fall of the dark wizard... This was the reason that Draco Malfoy was going to have to sit through a night full of everyone’s favourite heroes.

Despite his rotten mood, he couldn’t help but smirk as one of the purple acorns started spinning. “I guess that means we have to go... I could always stay and finish proofing that for you?” He offered, as he remembered her explanation for the glasses – they spun to remind you that you had something to do, or somewhere to be. Running a hand through his blonde hair, Draco Malfoy sighed, already convinced there was no way out.
“Oh no, it’s fine... You did a good job.”
“Yeah, I bet know one would buy it if they knew I had written it.” He mused grimly.
“Well, it’s only because every time you go out in public you put on the same mask you did while we were at school. No one knows what you look like without it, perhaps you should try taking it off tonight?”

---

“Luna! It’s good to see you! Oh my... What on earth are you wearing?” Hermione asked, hugging the blonde girl as she came through the fireplace.
“Oh, they’re Moggles. They spin when you need to remember something important...Extremely rare, I can’t believe Dad had a pair in the basement!”
“Are you sure they’re not actual-“
“Yes I’m sure.” Luna cut in, before the two smiled. Ron walked into the room at the sound of the laughter. “Hey Luna, yer the first one here, even beat Neville.” Ron said chuckling.
The light atmosphere was soon gone as the fireplace roared alive once more and a very uncomfortable looking Draco stepped out.
“What the bloody hell is he doing here?” Ron spat, glaring as Draco Malfoy as the blonde slytherin moved to stand by Luna.

The atmosphere instantly tensed. “I told you,” Draco said, looking at Luna and speaking in a hushed tone.
“He’s my guest.” Luna replied simply as if nothing were wrong, as she linked her arm with his.
“Well... that’s a surprise...How have you been...Malfoy.” Hermione said, obviously struggling with pleasantries.

Harry had been meaning to visit Ron and Hermione but his schedule had swarmed lately. So as he finally stepped through the fireplace, a smile on his face, nothing was going to ruin his mood. Not even, Malfoy. His eyes flickered across the room before eventually landing on Draco.
"Malfoy.." He said before hugging Hermione and Ron.
He had missed them, a lot. "How have you guys been?" He asked before turning to Luna, trying to ignore Malfoy. "Luna, hows the Quibbler?" He asked staring at her strange attire for a moment.
He'd ask Ron and Hermione why he was here later, although the answer was pretty clear, Luna. The two had been growing close, much to Harry's dismay. "Wheres Neville and Ginny?" He asked, wondering if they were even going to show but he hoped they would. He missed them all and wanted to see everyone and see how much everyone has changed or even stayed the same.

“Potter,” Malfoy returned, his eyes icing over for a moment. He bit the inside of his cheek, trying to keep his offhand comments to himself. Harry had been the one to keep his family out of Askaban, true... Draco hated the fact that he was secretly in debt to the other.
Neville and Ginny showed up soon after, and once the welcoming was over dinner was served.
The small talked continued, and unlike in his school days Draco managed to keep his mouth shut. Luna talked lovingly about the Quibbler, and the ‘amazing new writer’ they had hired. That drew the only smirk from Draco for the night.
“So, the article will be in tomorrow’s issue?” Hermione asked, her voice eager as always when the prospect of new reading material came up.
“Oh yes, it’s a double issue. I didn’t even have room to talk about the discovery of the nargels nest found in Romania!”
“What a shame.” Hermione said with a grin, as he magic-ed the desert out to everyone.

Ron, who had already had three glasses of Firewhisky decided to interject. “So Malfoy.” He started, causing the small chatter around the table to stop. “Luna owns a magazine, Hermionie is a medi-witch, Neville is a teacher and Harry and I are Aurors...What have you been doing?”
“Ronald!” Hermione whispered, grabbing his leg from under the table.

“No, it’s fine Granger.” Malfoy said, sitting up in his chair as he took on his usual cool facade. “I’m sure he’s just soaking in the fact he’s done something with his life. But don’t worry Weasley, in case you haven’t noticed... there isn’t much need for Aurors anymore. You’ll be unemployed again in no time.” He spat, glaring now.

His eyes flew around the table, knowing that would set everyone off. His eyes eventually fell onto Harry.
Harry Potter. Golden Boy. Saviour of the Wizarding World.

Harry had managed to hold his tongue mostly through the light conversation, afraid to say something offensive to Malfoy and be scolded on manners by Luna. Harry smirked at bit at Ron's question but as he listened to Draco's response his stomach twisted a bit with anger. He couldn't believe how rude Draco could be, even when surrounded by people that didn't like him, which obviously wasn't a stretch since he had spent all those years surrounded by people that hated him at school.
"Don't worry Malfoy. We'll always have work as long as your family is around." He said nonchalantly as he took a sip of his whiskey and smiled a bit at Ron, who smiled back.
Harry would never trust the Malfoy's as long as he lived but he tolerated them, for now. He then returned Malfoy's look with a glare before pouring himself more whiskey.

Draco went from a calm cold to a hot livid anger. His glare intensified at Potter's words, causing Luna to suddenly have a foreign look of worry on her face. Who was he to talk about his family? The boy who never had parents growing up could have no idea. None, whensoever. Calming himself, as he clung to his wine glass, he looked at Luna and nodded. She smiled weakly, before relaxing herself.
Neville on the other side of the table coughed before asking someone to pass the potatoes, and the small talk continued once again.
Draco, leaning over to Luna got a soft look on his face. "Tell me we can leave soon, I'm barley restraining myself."
"You'll need to get used to them Draco." Luna whispered back, and Draco looked around the table and groaned quietly before a pout crossed his lips. "None of that now... Who's up for a game of wizard pics?" [Pictionary for Wizards!] Luna said chippley.

Ron and Hermione paired up, as well as Ginny and Neville. Luna paired up with Dean, leaving Draco to fend for himself. "She did this on purpose..." He muttered, as he went to stand beside Potter.

Harry glared a bit at Draco before relaxing. He needed to be a good sport, for everyone's sake. "No. Really?" He asked a bit sarcastically, not really meaning to let it slip out. Harry sighed a bit before continuing quietly. "I'm sorry.. Lets just get through this okay?" He asked. As much as he disliked Draco he knew if he didn't make this work the night would only seem longer and Luna wouldn't be happy. As they joined everyone Harry put a smile on his face and looked at Draco, hoping he would at least act civil so it would be easier on everyone although he knew his own taunts weren't helping matters any at all either.

"Fine Potter, I'll behave as long as you do." Draco said, trying to be nice.

Luna clapped her hands excitedly, as the boys joined the table. "How about you two start?" She offered, conjuring up a wizarding hat full of folded pieces of parchment. "Harry, just reach in, and try to draw the word." Luna, remembering that Harry was muggle born, smiled at him before explaining further. "Just draw it in the air with your wand, the parchment is enchanted, so it knows we're playing." She explained.

Hermione looked intrigued, and Ron had his game face on. Draco looked uncomfortable, but he kept his mouth shut as Luna offered the hat to Harry.
