"We are awake." Alec and Layla said. As Kelsey fell asleep, Alec held onto gently, so she would not fall off his lap. Once the car stopped, he took off the seat belt and got out of the car with Kelsey in his arms. Layla followed him out of the car.

Kelsey remain asleep giving a little pur as she breathed in and out.

Alec smiled and carried her to the house.

Kelsey yawned and slowly opened her eyes. "Are we at Lena's?" she asked. Her voice still sounded sleepy.

Alice smiled and said "Yea, I'm awake", she felt around for her seat belt buckle and unbuckled it, she reached for the door handle and opened the door swinging her feet out of the door to stand up.

Stella got out of the car and went around to Alice. She took her hand. “There are stairs to get into the house so we’ll have to be careful.” She led her over to the stairs. “Ok we are at the stairs. How do you want to do this?”

“Alec you can put Kelsey in the guest room. It’s the first door on the right after you get up the stairs. Or is she awake now?” Lena thought she heard Kelsey’s sleepy voice as she was talking. She started up the stairs. “Nevermind if she is. You guys come on up. You can go through my closet to find you a change of clothes. Umm..I’ll bring you something down Alice.”

Alice smiled at Stella and let go of her hand and felt for the stairs infront of her, she then climbed up the stairs like a two-year old would and then stood at the top and said "I think that will be the best way to handle stairs for now". When she heard Lena say that she would bring something down for her she smiled and said "Thank you Lena", she felt her way around the room until she found a seat then sat in it to wait.

Stella watched Alice climb the stairs. “You’re probably right.” She went up the stairs and inside the house even though she wanted to stay out there and take a closer look at the flowers and trees. After getting in she made sure Alice had found a place to sit before heading to the stairs. “I’m going to go up too. I’ll help pick you something out.” Her voice was cheerful. She was enjoying this adventure. No one had told her the world was so big.

Alice giggle a little then said "Just make sure it isn't something to girly please" she smiled.

"Yes, we are, Kelsey." Alec said as he carried her into the house. "Do you want to get down now?" He asked her gently. Layla walked up the stairs with the others.

"yes please" Kelsey said jumping onto the floor from alecs arms and followed lena and the others upstairs.

Alice sat in the chair and listened to what everyone was say and leaned back closing her eyes.

Lena led them down the narrow hallway. “The two rooms on the right are guestrooms. The first room on the left is the guest bath and the last room on the left is the master bedroom.” She opened the door to her room and waited for them to enter. She hadn’t told them what the door inbetween the bath and her room was to. “Go on and pick out what you like.”

The master bedroom was spacious. There was a double bed under the window at the back wall. At the foot of the bed was a cedar chest. Along another wall was a vanity and dresser. On the inner wall was the door to the master bath. On the other side of it was a chest of drawers then the door to the walk in closet. The furniture looked antique, which it was. The furniture as well as the house had belonged to Lena's great grandparents.


Stella was fascinated by the photographs hanging on the walls of the hallway. Most of them were taken in the woods, but some were of rundown buildings. She wondered who had taken them. “Lena, you have a lot of photographs. They are pretty.”

Kelsey looked around. She walked over to the closet and looked at the clothes. She tried on a pink tank top that was a bunch of sizes to big. Then she put on a pair of shorts. "how do i look," she asked them.

"Okay." Alec said he let her jump out of his arms and walked up behind the others. Then, he looked at the cloths and picked out a t-shirt and a pair of pants. He went into the bathroom to get dress and came out. "How do I look?" He as seemingly at the same time as Kelsey. He looked at the little girl and smile. "Like you are trying on your big sister's clothes." He said with a slight giggle.

Alice sat in the chair and hummed to herself as she waited, she was happy that everyone got out and that the were now safe.

Kelsey giggled then looked at him. "and you look like a guy trying to be a girl," she joked.

"Well, it is not my fault that her t-shirts are all so girlie." Alec said with a giggle. "At least, I found one that did not say something like pretty princess." He said with a laugh.

"true," kelsey said. She raised her hands up so the sleeves would fall back.

Alec saw what Kelsey was doing with her sleeves, so he walked over and rolled them up for her. Then, he fixed her shorts, so they won't fall off. "There you go." He said with a smile.

"thank you," she said.

Alice closed her eyes it wasn't like anything was going to happen now, she cirled up in the chair and fell asleep.

Kelsey made her way downstairs and saw Alice asleep. Kelsey climbed up and curled up in the chair with her.

Alice didn't move when Kelsey came up on the chair, but she started to shake she was having a nightmare and couldn't wake up. It was of Andrew and his smile it was like he was hiding something it was the only thing that she could remember seeing, and now she was having a nightmare becasue of it.

After Layla picked out a pink skirt and top, she started to hear Alice shake with her cat-like ears and went downstairs. She saw Alice shaking and gently place a hand on her shoulder. "Alice, are you all right?" She asked softly.
