Moving in with another man… it seemed so… wrong. Even if the man was more of a gentleman then her former husband, she wasn’t all that sure what to do. Not that she had much of a choice at this point. Her friend smiled and then pat her hand.

“It’ll be alright, Veronica. It’s not like it’s a permanent stay. Only until you find a place of your own.” She reassured. Veronica only frowned deeply and nodded as a servant opened the doors to the man’s home. The servant showed them in, bowing to them eagerly.

“Miss Martha, it is a pleasure to see you again.” He spoke to Veronica’s friend. Martha only curtsied.

“The same for you, Mr. Harris.” She replied. Veronica swallowed and glanced at Martha.

“Does your friend even know… of… why I need to move in?” She asked. Martha rubbed her neck.

“Only slightly. He just knows that you were recently divorced and need a place to stay for a few months.” She replied. Veronica bit her lip, twirling a curl of her fiery red hair around a finger.

“So he doesn’t know anything about….. The baby?” She whispered low so the servant wouldn’t hear. Martha shook her head. Veronica swallowed. Great. Just great. Things would only get more complicated if all of a sudden her stomach started to show. Thanks a lot, Martha.
