Gypsy's Gaze [Tavern/Inn rp with plot!] Open/Full
Deep in the heart if the old streets of the city lie taverns, pubs, motels and the houses of the ladies and gentlemen of the night. Beyond the dank alleys, nearly forgotten, lay a more regal looking establishment. Roses, ivy and various flowers line the path to imposing stone walls. The dark, glossy wood doors give way to a candle-lit, lushly decorated inn, known as the Gypsy's Gaze. This building has been standing tall for centuries, it's cathedral spire is a beacon for all those who seek refuge from hiding their true selves.
A peacefully smiling woman greets patrons with closed eyes and a soft voice, welcoming all who seek a place away from the norm. Feel free to stay for a drink, for the night, or the week, the doors are always open to the far-straying children of magic and mystery. ------------------------------------------ !Note! Julia held her arms closer to herself, not that it would keep her warm. The night wasn't too cool, but she had gone a night or two without feeding. Thankfully, she also hadn't had anyone following her or been hurt, so she wasn't too low on energy. She cast her eyes around, looking for someone to be a snack, maybe a meal. She saw a lone woman walking along, and angled to 'accidentally' run into her.
A half hour later, she left the woman sleeping on a bench, not really any worse than before. Julia continued walking, having noticed the spire a little while ago. She made her way there before long, easily opening the door and slipping in. She was greeted by the woman, and arranged to stay for at least one day, in a room with thick curtains. Underground rooms always felt odd to her, she liked the smell of the air more than the utterly stifling safety of the windowless rooms. |
Elysia's head rose, giving the vampress a soft smile. "Hello, welcome to Gypsy's Gaze." She greeted, her voice barely a whisper, yet heard clearly. She was quickly able to get the woman accommodated in a room designed for children of the night, writing down the name given, and handing the old-fashioned key over. "You are free to use the room as long as you like, though I charge an additional fee for stays longer than a week." She said, the brass key sliding out of her hand.
Scarlett and Ace walked down a small pathway to the beautiful inn. She noticed a woman handing someone a key in the front and walked over to her. "Um.. hello, could my brother and I get a room here for the night? We have money of course.." She said, giving a small smile and looking over at her brother who just simply ran his hand threw his hair. He never had much to say anymore. She patted his shoulder and let her green eyes fall back on the girl who seemed to be in charge here.
Ace was watching his sister talk to the girl. He sighed softly and looked around the yard area. It was pretty and he knew it probably drew in his sisters attention from the way she kept looking around at it. He knew how much she loved flowers and landscapes. "Yeah, I have the money right here.." He said, taking his wallet out of his pocket and looking at the woman. |
Turning away from the dark-haired woman, Elysia addressed the two young people. "Hello and welcome to the Gypsy's Gaze. I have many rooms open, would you like one with two beds?" She asked, her face turning from one to the other, as if looking them over. Then her face fell to the book under her hand, running a finger down the list of rooms, her eyes not even fluttering. "You may stay as long as you like, I charge a flat rate, however there is an additional fee for stays over a week." She explained.
Aneira was sitting at a table in the tavern. By herself in the middle of the place. She was completely covered by a dark cloak. No part of her body was showing. She lifted a hand to take a drink from the pint in front of her. She had a room for the night already, in fact had stayed last night also. Normally Aneira would leave as quick as she could, but for some reason decided to relax. She paused for a second. Glancing up as a brother and sister entered the room. Her eyes caught the dim lighting of the room, forcing her to quickly look back down. A small sigh escaped her lips. Leaning up on the table was her bow, she never went anywhere without it. It towered just slightly high than Aneira's sitting form.
"Two beds would be wonderful." Scarlett said, knowing her brother hated sharing a bed with her since she always had nightmares that would wake him up. Her visions were usually of bad things so she would always wake up crying of from kicking Ace in the shin and hearing him groan. She noticed Ace looking around at the landscape as well and rolled her eyes. Her poor brother. He was probably thinking of mother just like she was now. Flowers always reminded them of her love and beauty.
Elysia nodded, lifting a quill from it's stand and dipping it into the ink pot beside the book. "May I have your names please?" She asked, lifting her head to face the young woman. Her other hand reached to her side, taking another brass key off it's hook.
Shouts and a breaking glass sounded after Ti as he ducked out of the dirty, dim bar, the sign above the door buzzing and flickering as he leaned back against the wall and took a deep breath. He wiped blood from his jaw with a pale, slender hand, hissing a bit as he found the scrape was deeper than he thought. He sighed, then dug in his pocket, pulling out a stack of money which he counted quickly. As soon as he started to fold it and place it back in his pocket, the angry, slurred voice of the man he won against came closer to the door. Even though the man had lost the bet, as well as the fight, he wanted his money back. Ti made a disgusted face, then turned on his heel, swinging a canvas bag over his shoulder as he quickly made his way down the dark alleys, the sounds of the bar fading. |
"Scarlett Andrews. And this is my brother Ace Andrews." She said, smirking since she had forgotten to give her name before hand. "So what will the cost be for the night?" She asked, biting her lip a little. She took the wallet from her brothers pale hand and opened it to see how much they had. They had been saving up for awhile so they had plenty of money for at least the next few months. She was wearing a dark black dress that stopped just before her knees, had a V neck and thin straps. Then she was wearing a white bow in her black shiny hair.
Ace ran a hand threw his hair and looked down at his clothes. He was wearing dark jeans that had about twenty rips in them from all the crap he and his sister got into this week, then a black tee shirt. He was wearing black and white converse and she was wearing black flats. |
Elysia smiled, "Such nice names for handsome people." She said as she wrote down their names, "You pay your tab when you leave, it will be seventy-five dollars, per a night, meals included." She held out a delicate white hand, key resting on her palm. Your room will be up the left staircase, third door, number five." She said, gesturing to the glossy cherry-wood stairs. "You seem as though you both could use some rest... would either of you like anything to eat or drink?" She asked, rambling a little as she "looked" them over again.
Julia smiled as she ran her hand over the thick curtains, then left the room, locking the door and slipping the key into her corset. She walked out to the main area of the tavern, glancing at the cloaked woman sitting in the middle and the two kids up by the woman before sitting at the far end of the bar, debating on whether she could have a drink, or if she needed more blood first.
Ti flicked the still-glowing cigarette into the dingy gutter at his feet as he looked up at the large stone building before him. "So this is it, ne?" he muttered to himself, looking about once more before making his way up the steps, his heavy boots making barely a sound. As he pushed the big door open, he was greeted by the strong scent of humans, his eyes flickering to a molten gold, then back as he stood still, looking down at two young humans. After pausing only a moment, he glanced at the woman behind the bar who he presumed was the proprietor, the woman at the end, and the cloaked woman at a dimly lit table. He took a moment to consider what to do next, then slid off towards the cloaked woman, eying her as he laid his bag nearby. He made as if to get something from his bag, to cover his wandering gaze, which fell back on the cloaked woman. He couldn't help but admire the weapon laid next to her, and studied the intricacy of it with quick glances as he rummaged through his bag.
Keira sighed as she took a swig of her drink. Since that customer discovered what she was, she would have to spend quite some time here until she can find somewhere else to do. She leaned back in her chair and stared off at the ceiling. Where could she go? Most of her family lived around here, and what if the news got out throughout the rest of the world? Was there secret cities where her kind could live?
Julia narrowed her eyes as the door opened and a new scent came in. She watched the damphir walk over to a different table out of the corner of her eye. She then ran a hand through her hair, deciding not to watch him too closely, she finally decided that a drink wouldn't be a smart idea right now, as much as the taste of one would be nice. She muffled a sigh, then glanced out the nearest window. It wouldn't be too hard to go back into the city for a little bit, catch another lonely person... Or she could wait until tomorrow night and take only a little more from someone else.
Scarlett smiled. "Thank you, and a drink would be nice.." She said, her eyes going to the new person that just came in, then looked back at her brother. She looked to the ground with her pale face and blinked her long eye lashes a few times. She wanted a drink so she'd probably stay up longer.. but Ace would probably go straight to bed. He wasn't one to be awake for to long when there was an opportunity to sleep. Her brother already looked tired from waking up so early this morning that he was ready to crash.
When Ace was offered a drink he shook his head, yawning slightly. "I think i'll just go to bed.. I got up way to early iin my taste." He mumbled, his eyes glancing at the pretty woman in front of him and then towards the inside of the Inn where he saw others. Maybe this was a good place to stay.. |
Elysia smiled back and gave a nod to Ace, handing the small brass key to him. "You will find a full bath adjacent to your room, as well as the closet with extra pillows, blankets and towels if you require them." She said, her soft, airy voice carrying a caring tone. She then turned back to Scarlett, smile still in place. "What would you like to drink, dear?"
Aneira noticed the glances from a new fellow in the bar. Although she did not look back herself. not just yet. He was pretending to not even take a look after all, so she should play along with his game. She raised her hand slightly, the sleeve of the large cloak fell back just slightly. Reveling a bit of her red skin. Along with her hands. They were torn apart, rugged, scared from so many times of pulling the large bow to its max. The bartender brought her another pint. Her current one was not even half way gone just yet. She took another sip of the current one before fixing her cloak slightly to cover everything. For all she knew, this male next to her could have been a hunter. "How long are you going to watch me?" She finally asked. Her voice could have been very intimating depending on whoever was listening.
Ti's eyes followed her movements, ready to move clear or draw a weapon if she proved a danger. He noted her strange skin, and the unsurprising scars along her inner arm. He couldn't help but smirk as the woman spoke, challenging him. He stood fully, pulling a lacquered flask from his bag, swirling it a bit to tell how much liquor was within it before responding.
"Until I stop being intrigued." He said simply, a bit of humor to his deep baritone voice. He took a breath, letting her scent hit his nose, the spicy, tangy smell of her blood to him she was indeed what he had taken her for from the start. Her aura had been a good clue, but this made him sure. He looked her over again as he took off his fedora, the dim lights casing a faint shine on his dark locks. He noted her tense posture, and took a cautionary step backwards, his navy eyes holding a steady gaze. |
One job down, just another to get contracted for now. Daeman had just stolen a good amount of gold from a politician and given it to the family who had hired her, taking her cut of course. It was a cinch. Her size helped out alot, being a halfling and all and it also helped that everyone thought that she was a little kid, so she could sneak into anything. It was wonderful. She didnt even ask any questions to of her employers ever. There was no reason to know why she was stealing what she was. All that she needed to know was that she was going to be eating that month or even that day. Now it was time to find a place to stay. It seemed that there was a tall brick building that she could go into. An Inn by the looks of it meaning lots of pints available. Without a second glance to see if anyone was following her, she skipped right on into the Inn. It seemed that a brother sister pair had just checked in, a man had just sat down with a red skinned wonder telling him to stop staring and a woman who looked desperately thirsty. After taking in all her surroundings the little halfling went up to the bar and jumped up so that she could grab the edge of it and put her elbows on it to hold her up. It looked like she was a normal human from the other side of the bar but on her side, her feet were just dangling there like she was just hanging out. "Excuse me?" She said in her normal fun loving voice to the woman in white who looked really really sweet and caring. "Are you by chance the caretaker of this inn?"
Elysia's face turned away from Scarlett, her closed eyes resting at the height of the newcomer's gaze. "I am indeed. Hello and welcome to The Gypsy's Gaze. I am Elysia, what is it you require?" She said, her warm voice gentle as always.
The little halfling had to think about it for a second. "I woul' like ta take up a room. I don' mind if it's smoll... OH and yar finest pint if ya please." She said with her usual accent. "I can pay ya whatever ya require." She let herself drop from the bar top and landed on her feet. The bow she had being small as it was for humans, touching the ground as she did so. The sword, swung from her hips as she walked over to a chair and brought it over so she could stand up properly in case she needed to pull out her money. "I'm sarry fa the inconvenience of my height but i cont really help tha'."
Elysia smiled at the small woman, finding her quaint accent charming in a way. She turned back to Scarlett, "If you'll excuse me dear, I have to take care of this. You can tell the gentleman at the bar what you would like to drink." She said, motioning to the barkeep to fulfill the halfing's order before picking up her quill again. "It's quite alright, though I'm afraid I don't have a room suited to your needs, I hope you don't have too much trouble being comfortable." She paused, lowering her face towards the book, "May I have your name please?"
"No trubble at all miss. The name's Daeman... Daeman Kercial." The little halfling said happily to the woman whose eyes remained closed. There was a little bit of an itch in the back of her mind saying ask why her eyes were closed but that would be rude and Daeman being the civilized thief/assassin that she is just isnt that rude. Not that killing people or stealing from them is civilized, but she would always like to think she is. Most halflings have a type of Napoleon complex. Nope, not her. She had what she called a civilized complex. The irony of her life hanging on a balance and it just seemed way too funny to pass off the opportunity to be that ironic. Now that she thought about it. If she was so Ironic, why couldn't the innkeeper be an ironic person as well. She was a person who knew where everything was, as if she could see, yet she kept her eyes closed. The thought put an even wider smile on her face. "I am fiiine with whateva ya have available."
Elysia gave a nod, dipping the quill into the ink-pot and writing down the name given as the bartender set a tall mug before Daeman. She reached over to the key rack, selecting yet another small brass key from it's hook and handing it to the halfling. "Here you are miss Kercial." She said with a warm smile, her closed eyes curving a bit with her lips. "Your room is number 8, up the right staircase, fourth door. You may stay as long as you like, it is sixty dollars a night, though there is a small fee added for stays over a week. If you need help at all with your accommodations at all, please do no hesitate to ask." She gestured to the staircase on the other side of the room, it's dark shine matching it's twin on the left.
Scarlett nodded and noticed her start to wait on another customer. She took the key gently. "Thank you miss.." She said, making her way to the tavern area as Ace made his way to the room to take a bath and then sleep. She went over to the bar and sat down on one of bar stools. She had money in her dress pocket and needed a nice drink. Anything at all just to make her feel good for a few minutes.
Ace went upstairs to their room and turned the key around and around on his finger as he looked for the room. When he found the room he unlocked the door, went in and then shut it behind him. He went into the bathroom and stripped, getting into the tub to relax. It had been a few days since they've had time to sit down and he couldn't wait to sleep. |
