Cloaked Hatter 03-09-2011 09:50 PM

Daemon nodded, happy that her friend was going to have some fun tonight. Seeing the trouble Rayne was having, she stood, walking into the small kitchen and grabbing two of the mugs before the other girl even had a chance. "There, now there's no chance of ruining your lovely carpet," she said with a smile, walking back over to the table and depositing one of the drinks in front of Joshua, before walking over to the couch.

After careful sitting down and placing her mug on a coaster on the table, Dee turned to face her slightly younger friend. "You know, if you ever need help, or even just a break sometimes, you know I can come by your office anytime. My boss is fine with me taking breaks, seeing as I'm basically his only full-time employee." She couldn't help but qorry about Ray. In the half-year that they had been in the same building, she had learned to watch out fir her, knowing that her schedule often got very hectic.

((Sorry if this doesn't make sense in parts. I'm typing this on my phone.))

[[Don't worry about it! I actually squeaked when I saw that you had posted! I really love this RP  ]]

Rayne was so grateful for Dee helping her. A look of instant relief flooded through her when Dee took the mugs away from her and handed them out. She made her way over to the couch where Dee was sat and placed her mug down on a mat before sitting herself down. "Oh, Dee, you really are lovely! But I doubt you would want to spend your breaks wandering around DIY shops picking out swatches of wall paper and flooring. It would probably be nice to just have someone in the office while I'm working that I can talk to, but then I might stop working and get in trouble off my clients. Thank you though, really, if I ever need anything I'll give you a call. How does that sound?" she smiled and then picked up her mug and took a sip. The chocolaty heaven made Rayne's eyes close a little too long, but she brought herself back to reality within moments as she felt her head droop. She decided that it was probably be safer for the floor, the sofa and herself if she put the mug back onto the little coffee table, so thats what she did.

"What time does this thing start tonight Dee? I really would like some sleep before we go, otherwise I'll be cranky and I doubt anyone will like getting to know me if all I do is strop at them!" she half laughed but it became to hard work for her face to look that happy so she stopped trying.

Joshua felt completely out of place with the girls. They squeaked, and chattered about their days, and all he could say was he actually woke up at a decent hour today. why was he even hanging around? He helped her to the door that should have been enough, but he felt like staying. Maybe it was to get away from the large crowd downstairs, or from his sister. Still, this wasn't much better simply because they were girls. Thinking about his reasons for staying their chatter became mind numbing, senseless gabbing to him. Unaware of what they were talking about he just smiled and took his cup to the kitchen.

"I'm sorry, I need to check on my sister...." he told them softly as he headed for the door.
"Thank you for the coco Ray." He told her before heading out to find his sister. Joshua really didn't like leaving her alone with guys around, but she seemed capable of handling herself...at least most of the time.

Charlotte felt like she'd gone through a gallon of olive oil trying to get all her makeup off. Her sink was covered in hair products, bobby pins, and a pile of used makeup pads.
"They like plastered my face!" She complained as she tried to get the last of the eye makeup off, but it was almost like dyed on her skin. It was her fault for being so pale.

Once her face was cleaned, which took forever! She was able to get washed up for tonights party. Charlotte thought of so many things she could do with her hair or her makeup, but she couldn't decide what would look best. This was important she since she'd never really met any of her mates here. actually she'd been here a month, and she hardly knew the guy who worked here. It was depressing, because that meant she hardly spent any time home anymore.

"Oh god I'm becoming a workaholic." She cried.

Caelum was busy unpacking things in the kitchen while her brother put together the shelves in her bedroom. She left the front door open and opened up some windows, the room was crazily warm and she had already pulled off her jacket. The day was ending though the air should cool off. She opened yet another box of dishes, lots of 'good clean dishes' as her mother had said when she sent them. She smiled at the thought of her horribly smothering mother. She would be missed.

Meanwhile Caleb was in his sister's room staring out the window, he'd managed to put together all her furniture before she was finished unpacking the dishes in the kitchen. He listened to her hum while staring mindlessly out the window, not really looking at anything or anyone. He saw people pass by on the street but they were just faceless blurs. He walked back out into the main room, grabbed a water bottle from the slowly cooling fridge, his sister didn't notice him, and walked back outside to sit on the curb by his car.

Himiko Lamprouge 03-10-2011 07:00 AM

Joshua was making his way through the building when he noticed it was almost dead. Had the movers left? That seemed far to quick to unpack an entire truck. with that in mind he headed downstairs to find some evidence of life, but it was completely silent. it was as if no one had ever moved in. Joshua made his way outside to see if maybe they were still unpacking the truck, or if it was even here. he didn't see it, but it wasn't like he was checking the entire parking lot, after all you couldn't hide a truck. That was when he saw Caleb, and amazingly enough he wasn't glued to his sister. Joshua was really glad for that one, he was starting to think Charlotte would take the guy home, and that was one thing he didn't want to think about...or hear from his sister....ever!

"hey, you seen my sister?" He questioned his new friend, or whatever he was.

Teive 03-10-2011 07:35 AM

Caleb looked up at helper boy. "Your sister is the cute little doll?" He asked and the guy nodded. "Haven't seen her since she went to wash the porcelain off her face." He shrugged and motioned for his friend to have a seat next to him. "I don't think I caught your name." He took a drink of his water. "And thanks for your help. The movers did a hell of a job moving everything pretty fast. They probably didn't wanna deal with my evil sister from hell." He grinned.

Looking from the petite girl back to Rowan, Alex smiled. She looked so tiny he wasn't sure how she would help.

"I think we can handle it. Doesn't look like Rowan has much to bring up. Oh! I'm so rude. I'm Alex by the way. The apartment manager."

Smiling sweetly at the girl he asked, "Will you two be coming to my little get together tonight? Its in 1A just over there at 6. I hope you can make it. Just something to get to know the neighbors."

Easily hefting one of Rowan's duffel bags over his shoulder, Alex began to head up the stairs.

"What floor are you on bud?"

Himiko Lamprouge 03-10-2011 03:23 PM

Joshua took a seat by his friend only to start laughing when he heard everything he had to say.
"No, she's actually that pale. You'd think she never left home." He replied as she chuckled about his sister. At least she wasn't all tangled up with some guy. Sad that was all he could think about, but it was his sister after all. Really the only reason he came here was to watch over her, she might have been the older one, but he still had a job as a brother.

Joshua ran his hand through the back of his hair scratching his head. He needed a shower before he went out, if he went out. He hadn't done much, but he had been sweating from the heat, and the constant motion he'd been stuck in nearly all day.

"Your sister is no worse than mine, maybe a little more aggressive..." Joshua didn't see anything wrong with Caleb's sister. She was who she was, and it wasn't like he was fighting with her so there was no reason not to like her.

Neko Ninja 03-10-2011 04:20 PM

Lexi sighed slightly. She hated how people thought she couldn't help just because she was small. She happened to be very strong. Even if it didn't show. She nodded slightly at the question. Yes, she was going to go. But just so that she could find out what room that girl was in. But after that, she would probably leave.

"Well.. If you don't need me, then I should just go." she muttered. She turned and continued with what she was doing.

Teive 03-10-2011 05:35 PM

Caleb laughed. "My sister? Aggressive? Nooo" His voice laughed at his own sarcasm. "She's actually not all that bad. She's a lot like my grandfather, stubborn but with the biggest heart ever!" He lifted his bottle in a half salute to both his sister and grandfather. "It's why I gotta stick with her." He looked over at his friend. "Can't leave a silly girl like her all alone in America. You boys will take advantage of her." He smiled more to himself than to Joshua, then muttered something in Russian about silly people falling in love.

Himiko Lamprouge 03-10-2011 05:53 PM

"That's why brothers have sisters, to watch over them. What else are we good at?" Joshua smiled as he thought of his own sister. As strong as she wanted to be, she would still always be his little sister (in height lol). That meant she would always be smaller and far more frail than he would ever be. He couldn't just let people come and go in her life not caring about her feelings. Caleb really wasn't the guy he let others believe, or maybe it was just the fact Joshua wasn't a girl and therefore Caleb had no reason to hit on him. At least he hoped not.

"Come on you Commie bastard, I gotta grab something for tonight. I might wanna make a move on your sister tonight." Joshua laughed as he got up from the curb. After all he wasn't about to go to a party, and allow it to be a dry one. There was no fun in a party like that.

Teive 03-10-2011 06:13 PM

"Hey!" Caleb gave Joshua's leg a shove then stood with him. "What's tonight?" He bent down to grab his water bottle. "That thing?" He pointed toward the general direction where he was sure the notice was. "I saw it but I wasn't sure I'd be going, but hey if you're going I might get to see all the girls that live around here." He smiled cheekily. "Just hope your sister doesn't get lost in the crowd." He started up the stairs with a big laugh.

Caelum, at that moment, not only heard her brother but saw him. She was carrying a large plastic bag full of what could only be trash. "Since you have time to laugh, you have time to put this in the dumpster." She threw the bag at him and he caught it just in time. "If you know where it is, mister big shot." She said that last part like her grandfather used to, slow and with a heavy accent. She noticed the other man a second later. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you." She nearly flushed. She didn't want anyone to hear her talk with that accent. She turned to leave back up the stairs to the safety of her apartment.

Himiko Lamprouge 03-10-2011 06:23 PM

"Nice to meet you too commie!" Joshua tease her as she ran off. Girls were a funny breed, and no matter how you raised them they would still never make sense to men.

"Charlotte might be short, but she's to loud to miss. I've been thinking she needs Ritalin just so I can get a break." He admitted. No matter what he did she found something to complain about. Like the boxes, or his clothes, his hair in the sink, him sleeping on the couch. Actually...he really should know better than to be that messy, but his antics kept her on her toes. Gave her a little excitement in her life.

"Come on get rid of that, and show me the nearest supermarket. If we are gonna go, we're gonna go right." Joshua wasn't about to let a perfectly good reason to drink fly out the window. Not to mention if they were the only guys in the building they were gonna need something to get them through the night.

Teive 03-10-2011 06:50 PM

Caleb laughed at Joshua's reaction to his sister as he took care of the garbage. "Let me go upstairs and change first. This shirt is all worked." He over-exaggerated, the shirt was fine, he just didn't have his phone. He jogged back up the stairs and came back down a bit later with his phone and a clean black button up shirt on that wasn't buttoned to reveal his black undershirt. "Supermarket huh? What're we getting?" He asked his new friend. "And do we have to walk?"

Himiko Lamprouge 03-10-2011 06:58 PM

"Depends on how far it is. If its just a mile or so I'm pretty sure your legs can handle it. But we could take my car." Joshua offered as they decided their plan of action. He liked being active, it made him different than the lazy american's of todays world. Plus he needed to keep in shape till he found the local gym.

"Just trust me, if they have it, tonight is gonna be one hell of a party." He assured him. he knew the best way to kick off a party, and that was with something everyone would enjoy.

((sorry for the short post!))

Teive 03-10-2011 07:25 PM

((It's ok. Mine get pretty short cause of work lol))

"Okay let's walk." Caleb pushed his hair back with his hand and started walking with Joshua. "Am I to assume this mystery supermarket run is a last second idea?" He joked. "A game!" He pretended to guess false ideas. "No no no, hmm!" He over acted the guessing. "Strippers!" He said with his hands balled into fists and thrown into the air. "Please tell me it's strippers!" He couldn't help but laugh.

His guesses were farfetched and totally false he knew, but it gave him something to talk about while they walked. The store shouldn't be too far, but a little conversation never killed anyone. Besides it was good to hang out with another guy for once.

Himiko Lamprouge 03-10-2011 07:57 PM

"If they sell strippers at this supermarket then I moved to the right place my friend." Joshua laughed as he kept a steady pace beside Caleb. This guy was awfully cheery for a Russian, in fact he was completely opposite from his sister. He believed Caelum fit her nationality perfectly, but Caleb? Not so much, most Russin guys he knew were harsh, and dominating. They were the best guys to bet with because they got so angry when they lost to an American. They could also be a lot of fun to hang out with and get drunk with, at least until someone started a fight.

"Just trust me, you're gonna like it."

Charlotte had finally finished getting ready for tonight, but it was still far to early for the party to start. Sporting her favorite navy jeans, some layered t-shirts of pink and blue, with small purple butterflies around them. It was cute, nothing to dressy if she was going to a party she wouldn't want to wear something she might mess up. Or be overly dressed and look snobby. Her makeup was kept to a simply light purple smoky eye, and light lips. It was Charlotte's favorite color, and it looked best on her skin tone, if you could even call white a tone.

she tried to kill some time by touching up her makeup, or looking for something to accessories with, but she found simple would be better tonight. There was nothing of hers to clean up so she stood there, deciding what to do next. Be bored for a couple of hours, or go do something. The last one sounded much better

Charlotte ran down the hall to find Alex, and happily he was already in the hall. Bouncing to a stop she smiled as she quickly waved to the new boy beside Alex.
"I'm bored! Do you need help setting up for tonight?" Charlotte asked sweetly, batting her lashes at him. It wasn't that she was flirting, but she loved to be cute, and playful. Completely different that how he'd behaved earlier in the day. The last thing she wanted was to come across as cold, or angry.

Teive 03-10-2011 08:15 PM

Caleb grinned, as big as he could. "Trust me friend." His accent slipped out playfully. "If it's what I think, I'm going to love it!" He laughed at himself. His accent wasn't that bad, but when he forced it out like that he sounded like a cartoon character. "Though, we're so going to have to play a little game, you know that right?" Caleb smirked as they finally arrived at the supermarket and walked through the doors. "I'm a man of challenge!" He said it too loudly and people in the store turned to laugh at him. Caleb just grinned and shrugged.

Himiko Lamprouge 03-10-2011 08:32 PM

Listening to Caleb act like a fool he was starting to believe more and more he wasn't normal. At least he wasn't some shy, reserved guy; they were never fun to hang with. Leading Caleb by his shirt for a second he made sure his friend would follow him through. The last thing he needed was to lose the crazy guy. He was practically running across the place looking for the Alcohol, but stopped at the candy section when it came to view.

"Yes! Oh we are in business my friend." Joshua yelled when he saw they had the gummy bears he needed. They came in a gold package, and normally kids didn't like them because they were to hard for a gummy candy, but they were perfect for other things. he grabbed a couple bags, and went off in search of the Alcohol again. In all reality he really didn't expect to find them here, but it wasn't like he didn't have a back up plan if they weren't here.

"We need some Russian water and ever clear. Do you need anything?" He asked Caleb as he looked around for the liquor he needed.

OriginalSin 03-10-2011 08:32 PM

[[I'm still awaiting Cloaked's reply, but I'm really really getting bored, so I think I might go for a tiny wander. I hope she doesn't mind :(]]

Placing the mug down on the table, Rayne turned to her friend and smiled. "I'll be back in a few minutes Dee, I need to ask Alex something about tonight!" she smiled and stood up. The sudden movement sent a rush of blood to her head and she instantly felt dizzy. It was a nightmare trying to do anything when she was this tired, but she knew she had to ask something. Slowly, Ray made her way to the door and pulled it open. She moved down the corridor at an alarmingly slow pace so that she did not fall over, but it was not that long until she got to where Alex, Charlotte and yet another new boy were standing. "Hey guys" she smiled as she fidgeted with the button at the top of her chiffon blouse.

PaintTheSkyRed 03-10-2011 08:33 PM

Rowan flushed at Lexi thinking She is so cute. He cleared his throat saying "Thanks for the offer," by the time he got that out she was already walking away. So he followed Alex up saying "I guess I could come to the party. Just need unpack all my stuff," he mumbled and trailed off. He sighed again thinking about how he had to be lifting up his luggage every step up the stairs he answered Alex's other question saying "Um 2B. Second floor." He startled when he saw Rayne and mumbled out a soft "Um hi." His voice kind of squeaked at the end so he cleared his throat saying "Um, I am Rowan. And you are?"

Neko Ninja 03-10-2011 08:36 PM

Lexi smiled a bit when she heard the other man thank her. At least one of those guys weren't rude. She pushed the front door open and went out. Stretching slightly, she took a deep breath. This was definitely better than being in her room. But she knew that she should probably take a shower before the party. Maybe take a nap. But then again, coffee always worked. She should probably go get ready though. Don't want to make a bad first impression and all. So after a few minutes, she went back inside and back up to her apartment.

OriginalSin 03-10-2011 08:39 PM

Rayne smiled when the new man introduced himself. She almost giggled when his voice squeaked, but she was not only too tired but it might make him feel uncomfortable, especially as he was new to the building; having a stranger laugh at you would intimidate anyone.

"Hi Rowan. I'm Rayne, but you can call me Ray. I take it your just moving in?" she smiled and held out a hand to shake with him before she realized the amount he was carrying and slammed her hand back to her side with an embarrassed flush of the cheeks. "Need a hand?" she asked. It was true that she was weak, but she still wanted to help.

PaintTheSkyRed 03-10-2011 08:49 PM

Rowan pushed his glasses up on his nose and brushed hair out of his face. He nodded at Rayne saying "Okay, nice to meet you Ray. And uh, yes. Attempting to at least." He laughed slightly at her expression when she held out her hand but he shook his head saying "Thank you. But no. Alex can help, plus this is a good work out for me." He opened his mouth before she thought the wrong idea "It is not because you are a girl, my grandmother can carry me plus all this stuff. The only other thing I could offer for you to carry is one of the two most heaviest item which is unfair if I can not carry it myself."

OriginalSin 03-10-2011 09:08 PM

Rayne saw the look on Rowan's face as he realized a different way of interpreting what he had said. When he went into an explanation about it, she smiled. "Hey, don't worry about it. I'm not offended. To be honest, I'm really tired as it is. And I doubt you need a work out!" she giggled and then blushed furiously at what she had said.

Why did you say that Ray? What the hell?! she thought to herself. Feeling stupid, she just began to nibble slightly on the corner of her lip; eyes falling to the ground. "Sorry about that" she whispered. "I talk a whole bunch of nothing when I'm tired. My mind bullies me. I just, cant help it" she giggled a little and then went back to lip nibbling and walking along side Rowan and Alex.
