Caleb let himself be dragged around and snorted at the gummy candy that his friend picked up. Then he was being dragged around to the alcohol area. "Do I need something? I just need a drink and good company." He shrugged. "You might need a cart though." He plucked one of the nearly falling bags of candy from his friends arms. "Want me to get one while you attack this area?" He pulled his shirt loose and jutted his thumb back toward the front.
Caelum tied her hair up into a tail and wondered back out to find her brother, but neither he nor that man was out there. 'Did they go somewhere?' She wondered. She looked back into the apartment at the other bag of trash that needed to be thrown out and sighed. She'd be doing this one on her own, but she didn't have the faintest idea where the dumpster was. She unbuttoned the collar of her blouse for air and comfort, and hauled the bag down the stairs. A good start, she figured. |
Rowan smiled relieved that he did not make someone angry already. And his face felt warm at her compliment and he laughed nervously saying "Um, I am actually very out of shape. Don't let this thin body fool you, I can barely run down the block without feeling winded." Rowan felt sorry when she whispered and he said "No worries. I am a walking zombie with glasses when I am tired. Don't feel bad." He smiled awkwardly hoping to cheer her up when she giggled, he felt a little better. He sighed and thought I hope that I do get more awkward as this day goes on. Rather not mess up on my first day living here.

From the bottom of the stairs came a cry of, "OH CRAP!" followed by a crash. There was the sound of some muffled swearing before a young man with longish black hair came up the stairs trying to carry a pair of of duffle bags, a suitcase, and two guitar cases with the suitcase handle in his mouth. When he spotted Rayne and Rowan (and whoever else is on the staircase) he smiled and spat the suitcase handle out, grinning widely as he said, "Hey there party people! Name's Christopher Rawx, but everyone calls me Chris, and I'm the guy in 2B. So, how's it shakin?"

Rowan was caught off guard by the loud noise and jumped. Then he blushed hoping no one saw him do it. He looked at this new guy, eye brows up in surprise that he was still able to stand after that. He felt his heart drop when he heard this guy would be living in his room. He mumbled "B-but I-I will be living in 2B." He frowned thinking What the hell? he looked at Chris, like he was doing this on purpose to embrass Rowan. He said "That must be a mistake or something. I am suppose to be getting a single in 2B." He flushed and mumbled hoping he was not making a big scene.

Alex quietly watched the exchange between Rowan and Ray. It was nice to see so many people out and about. Why had ne never made an effort to get to know his neighbors sooner?
Suddenly feeling out of place, Alex shifted from foot to foot. He felt a little like a voyeur. It was obvious that Rowan found Ray attractive, and judging by the wide smile on her face, she probably felt the same. Expelling a sigh of relief when Charlotte bounded up to him, Alex smiled sweetly at her. “I don’t think there is too much we need to setup. It is just going to be at my apartment.” He paused for a moment, thinking. “I hope it is big enough. I’ve never seen this many people at the apartments before.” Not wanting to seem rude he said, “I do need to set out some drinks and food if you want to come help me I would love the company.” The words had flown out of his mouth before he really thought about what he was saying. But he was happy he had said it. The company really would be nice. Looking at his hands, still clutching Rowan’s duffle bag, a look of confusion crossed over Alex’s face. Oh yeah. Dump the bag at 2B, get the party setup. Sometimes he was so easily distracted. Setting the bag down just outside 2B, Alex put his hands at the small of his back and stretched. Holding the bag so long had made him stiff. “Shall we head to my apartment?” Alex asked Charlotte with a smile. He wiggled his eyebrows at her comically as if suggesting that they would be doing more than just setting out drinks and food at his place. Just then another new fellow blustered in on them. Alex didn't feel like dealing with the man. He had things to setup and a beautiful woman to help him. Nodding at the newcomer and giving a curt "Hello." Alex headed towards the stairs. |
Chris laughed saying, "What a coincidence, I was supposed to get a single in 2B! Oh well, looks like we're gonna be roommates instead." He set the guitar cases to lean against the wall and walked up the stairs, grabbing the stuff out of Rowan's hands saying, "Here, I'll help you with my stuff and then you can help with all my crap. Oh, and I don't mind taking the living room and you can have the bedroom. I'll be spending most of my time in there anyway, okay bud?"

Caelum stopped halfway down the stairs when she noticed everyone was just sort of there suddenly. She debated going back upstairs and closing her door behind her but a Razavan was no coward. She straightened her shoulders and walked down trying to avoid everyone and not making eye contact. She wished she had her glasses on though, she needed something to hide behind other then a trash bag full of newspaper and ripped up bits of boxes.

Rowan was baffled by what Chris said mumbled to Ray saying "Sorry." He felt out of place since Chris just took his bags, making him look like a weakling since he could carry any of his bags. He sighed and nodded his head saying "Okay. Thats fine." He mumbled the last part and grabbed one large bag, and two guitar cases and followed Chris up the stairs, his head spinning. How come this was happening to him? He struggled getting the stuff upstairs and when he got up to the second floor he left out a breath. Shaking his head saying "We are going to need to sort something out, man."

Chris followed and smiled saying, "I meant we could take care of all your crap first man, I just grabbed the stuff you were carrying so that you could run back to your car for anything else of yours." Chris set Rowan's stuff down next to the stuff Alex had already brought up.

As Lexi was walking up the stairs, she heard some people up ahead. She stopped just at the top. Looks like someone else was moving in. But she was a bit glad to see the guy from before. He seemed nice, even if he was a bit quiet, seeing as how she was the same way. She went over to her door, hoping to go in unnoticed. She would have time to meet everyone later.

Rowan felt dumb and flushed saying "Uh, yeah. I knew that." He then sounded a little tougher saying "I am pretty sure we can both share the bedroom, just have to make it work to see if to beds can fit in it." He sighed ran fingers through his hair saying "I have two more bags and a couple boxes in my van. Lets just get your stuff up stairs before we tackle all my shit." He opened up the first door on the right, 2B, and pushed it open. He grabbed his two duffels and dumped them in the apartment, grabbed his suitcase and one of Chris' bags and put them down in the apartment too.

Chris smiled and followed Rowan into the apartment saying, "No, seriously man, I'll take the living room. I need room for my guitars and amps anyway." He set the stuff down saying, "Kay, there's a bag and suitcase on the landing, plus three or four more bags in the lobby, plus my amps. So, I'll go down to the lobby and start hauling up my amps since they're pretty heavy, and you can take the bag and suitcase on the landing, then we'll grab the last of my bags, and then we'll grab your stuff." He smiled and clapped Rowan on shoulder, unintentionally clapping him pretty hard.

Rowan sighed wanting to argue but just didn't seem to have the energy for it. He nodded his head and winced when he was clapped on the shoulder. He mumbled a soft "Ouch." And he followed Chris down the stairs but stopped at the landing to grab the bag and the suitcase. He dragged those items upstairs and into the apartment. While he was up there, he moved the guitars into the living room just make sure nothing was damaged. He dreaded thinking about how they would have to carry his heavy desk upstairs.

Chris, with much groaning, huffing, and puffing hauled the two big amps up and into the living room. Once he did that he grinned at Rowan saying, "Alright, we're half-way to being half-way done!" He ran down the stairs, grabbing two of his four bags and ran them back up the stairs, seemingly possessing unlimited energy.

Lexi could hear the two men going up and down the stairs. So she stuck her head out when she heard one of them come back. "Do you need any help?" she asked. She really did want to be able to help someone, but for some reason, nobody thought she could.

Rowan flushed at how fast Chris was moving his stuff and sighed. He was surprised by Lexi popping up and said "Uh sure." He led the way down the stairs, out of the apartment and to the parking lot. Parked in one of the 2B parking spaces was a large hippie van, the top color being white and the bottom color being yellow. He pulled out his keys and unlocked the door, sliding the middle door open and revealing a filled van. He flushed at Lexi saying "Um can you get a box or two?" He grabbed two bags and a box himself.

Lexi smiled a bit to herself when Rowan said she could help. Finally someone agreed to it. She followed him down the stairs and out to the van. "Sure. No problem." she told him, smiling at him. She could easily carry a box or two up the stairs. That is, at a time. She reached in and pulled out two boxes, stacking them on top of each other and turning and carrying them inside and up the stairs to apartment 2B.

Rowan followed Lexi and brought the items into his apartment, setting them down and smiled saying "Now for round two." He sighed and headed back down stairs, out the apartment, out the van to grab three more bags and another box. He shifted the box in his hands to hold onto the banister to help go upstairs. He headed back into his apartment and stacked the box ontop of the others and dropping the bags on the floor. He smiled at Lexi and said "I am Rowan. Nice to meet you."

Lexi followed Rowan back downstairs after setting the boxs down. She grabbed more boxes out of the van and followed the man back up to his apartment. "My name is Alexia. But I prefer Lexi. It's nice to meet you." she said, holding out her hand to shake his.

Chris followed down and went to Rowan's car, spotting the desk and shrugging saying, "Okie dokie, that'll be kinda heavy." He began manuevering it, trying to pick it up himself and hoping he wouldnt break it.

Rowan shook hands with Lexi and headed back to his car, and came in just in time since the desk wobbling as Chris tried to get it out of the van. He helped lift it up, that way they each had one side and the two of the starting walking the desk back into the apartment. Rowan looked over his shoulder every once in awhile, he was walking backwards so the desk could fit in the door way. He almost tripped over his own feet but kept his balance. They got into the apartment and Rowan said "Hold on a second." He stood still for a minute taking breaths and shook his head saying "Okay, I can move again."

Lexi followed Rowan back down after he shook her hand. She made sure to stay out of the way while they carried the desk up. She grabbed a few things that were left before following after them slowly. When she got back upstairs, she set the stuff down with the rest of it.

Rowan and Chris managed to bring the desk up into the apartment, and sat the desk on the floor. Rowan was out of breath and he smiled at Chris saying "Thanks." He looked at Lexi and nodded to her saying "Thanks for your help too." He stretched his back and lifted his arms above his head, his shirt rising up to reveal a smooth stomach. He rolled his shoulders and said "Now I could use a drink."

"No problem." Lexi told him. She really didn't mind all the hard work. This was the most work she's done all day. Her brothers carried most of her stuff in and got it all set up for her. The only thing she herself carried was the last box. She hated when her brothers did that, but she knew they loved her. So she was fine with it. Her eyes briefly looked over Rowan's stomach before looking away. "I could get you something... I have tea.. And coco.." she told him. But she was sure that wasn't what he wanted.

Chris grinned saying, "No problem. Hey, you enjoy you're drink dude, I'll go grab whatever's left and close the van up for you, kay?" He started downstairs, not waiting for Rowan's response.
