Rowan wrinkled his nose at the though of hot chocolate. He said "Tea would be nice. I hate sweets." He started to follow Chris but gave up thinking I can never get a word out before he does something. He is very nice though. He looked over at Lexi and opened a box, pulling out two coffee mugs one with a quill on it and the other with a stack of books. "Tea?" He laughed saying "I have plenty of coffee mugs. I kind of collect them."

Charlotte was happy to hear she was going to be help to someone, but her happiness was something everyone could hear. Bouncing like a child down the stairs when she noticed the traffic had picked back up. Really it was just like the city, she would call this one the lunch rush, simply because it wasn't late enough for dinner. Maybe it would be like clock work here, everyday there would be a morning, afternoon and night rush of traffic. At least if it did that she would know when it was best to come home without bothering anyone.

"I'm so excited! I'm just sorry I didn't know sooner cause i could have made some stuff for it." She told Alex as she stayed behind her to help keep stairs open on the other side. Watching all the people moving around she noticed a couple were missing. Her eyes scanned the building as they made their way door, but there was no sign of him at all.

'His lazy ass wouldn't leave home.' Charlotte thought to herself. Just then she noticed Caelum heading down the stairs as well.

"Hey!? have you seen my brother?" She shouted over to her. Charlotte was just hoping she wasn't still mad about earlier; even if it was her fault for being rude.

Joshua looked over at Caleb as if he was joking.
"Dude they are gummy bears, you think they'll break if they fall." He replied sarcastically. He didn't think they needed a basket for the small amount of items he needed. He just grabbed the bottles he needed,and went off to get Caleb. Dropping the stuff on the checkout, he shouted out for Caleb. He didn't have time to be looking for the guy, and he had his other bag of bears.
"Sweetie ring me up for another bag, my friend has one." He explained as he fished his wallet out of his pocket and waiting till she was done so he could pay an go.

Caleb came back to Joshua carrying a box of cookies, a small bag of apples, three bags of different kinds of bread and a gallon of milk. He smiled sheepishly as he gave Joshua his candy back. "I figured....since I'm here ya know?" He waiting for the girl to ring up his friend so he could pay for his own things. "I kinda go sidetracked on my way back..." He mumbled, but his eyes were on the check out girl. "Hey there. I'm new in town, you should show me around sometime." He grinned at the girl behind the register.

Caelum froze and looked over to see the girl from earlier sans all her make up. "Your brother is with mine." She said and wished to every God ever created in the world that she had her glasses. "I'm not sure where they are..." She trailed off and tried to make a break for it down the stairs. She didn't want to apologize publicly and seeing as the girl wasn't alone she would find a way to do so later. She smiled slightly as she passed them on the stairs and nearly dropped her bag. "Please excuse me."

Already several steps ahead of Charlotte, Alex stopped and turned when she addressed Caelum. Wasn’t that the name of the dark haired beauty he had seen earlier?

Caelum was balancing a huge black trash bag and looked unhappy about it. Opening his mouth to say something, he found himself at a loss for words. He gaped like a fish out of water trying to suck in air. Snapping his mouth shut and taking a deep breath he tried again.

“Hello Caelum? Is it?” Sticking his hand out as if to shake hers, he smiled up at the woman. “I’m Alex…” He was lost for words again. Stumbling over himself he continued, “…the apartment manager.”

A light blush was coloring his cheeks, only noticeable if you looked closely. Realizing that he was standing with his hand outstretched to someone who obviously had her hands full of garbage bag, Alex retracted his hand and swept it up through his hair trying to make the movement seem natural.

He could offer to take the bag from her, but she might think him sexist. Then again if he didn’t offer she might think he was a rude pig. Why was everything suddenly so complicated?

"Oh Jesus Caleb, you're like a dog." Joshua couldn't believe he was this stupid. First hitting on nearly every girl, including his sister at the apartment, and now this.
"Mame, I'm sorry we plan on getting him fixed." It was hard to tell if he was actually joking or not at this point. Sure Joshua was a normal guy and loved when he got some, but it wasn't always on his mind. Especially not when meeting like this, he really had to learn some class when it came to getting the ladies.

"You and your commie taste." He smiled looking over at the mix of foods. It wasn't that strange, but he liked calling him a commie. Grabbing his bag and headed off for the door. He stayed in view, but he couldn't pass up the gum ball machine. Joshua couldn't pass them up whenever he got home.

"Alex you need to learn how to speak up, really." Charlotte told him as she nudged him slightly over to the girl.

"Alex would love to help you!" Offering up their manager for help, it was good for him; builds character. She would have offered to help, but Alex was more than capable, and he looked like he really wanted to. Strange how someone so rude could have the guys drooling over here. It must have been that bad girl look she had going on, or the fact she just didn't show them any interest. Men always responded to being ignored, but then again girls would react the same way at times.

Caelum stopped again and blinked at the man's outstretched hand before he took it back. "Yes, I'm Caelum and I know who you are. I've read the report on you that my assistant gave me. He's the one who came here to set up my rental agreement." The confidence in her voice was back now that she didn't have to deal with battling herself to apologize. "Alex Cambell, 26. Works at the local 'Java Dream' part time. Likes dogs, indian food and drive in movies. My assistant is very thorough..." She smiled arrogantly. "I tend to make sure I know what I'm getting myself into. Also, I only moved into a building that was owned by a man.....if you've met my brother you'd understand..." She trailed off not wanting to comment on her brother's conquests.

Shooting Charlotte a thankful sideways glance, Alex took the bag from Caelum.

“Wow. That is just the tiniest bit creepy, yet strangely endearing that you know all that about me. I don’t know anything about you. Do you like Indian food? There is a really nice restaurant not far from here.” She wasn’t wearing her sunglasses, and he was thankful for it. The woman was even more beautiful up close.

He was gaining confidence the longer he talked and began descending the stairs to the ground floor.

"Careful she might know your private information as well, better hope she doesn't end up angry with you, someone fat man with end up taking your identity." Charlotte teased the both of them as she left them alone.

"I'll meet you at your place as soon as I find my brother Alex." She really didn't want to be around that girl right now. She could be civil, but it didn't mean she had to stand around pretending to be her friend, or watch Alex drool all over her. Charlotte just went off to check the building for her brother, and now Caleb. if she could find one of them she'd be in good shape. It just seemed off Joshua would run off without warning her first, after all he always wanted to know where she was going.

Looking around she was starting to feel like a stranger in her own building. There were so many people, all running around doing their own thing. It was actually making her feel alone, even though it shouldn't have made her feel that way it didn't stop her.
"Has anyone seen a tall red haired guy? He acts like a jerk half the time" She called out in homes someone could point her in the right direction.

On the way back up with Rowan's last bag and having closed up the van he spotted Alex talking to Caelum and, after taking a long look he sidled up, flipping the hair from his face saying, "Hey there neighbor, the name's Chris Rawx. Hope you don't mind the mild eavesdropping, but I noticed your name's Caelum. That's very interesting, what's its origin?"

Caelum watched the small girl leave, she was someone hesitant to let her go, but she was too full of pride to stop her. Her attention shifted back to the man on the stairs next to her. "I don't know where the dumpster is..." She explained and started down the stairs. "Yes I like Indian food." She answered absently as he walked with her. He was looking at her face, another reason she prayed for her glasses, she felt so naked without them.

Yet another man approached them. "My name is a constellation of stars, it means 'the chisel'." She answered his question smoothly and didn't give either man a second glance. "I forgot something, in my apartment..." She trailed off and took the steps two at a time to race back up. She stormed into her room and removed her glasses from her purse and stuck them on her face. She sighed in relief and started back for the door.

Taking a deep breath she opened it again and started back down, both boys where she left them. Her eyes hidden now she assessed them both individually. She knew more about the American Alex then about the other man, Chris. She took the stairs slowly now, her confidence restored and her strong personality back in place. "You were going to show me where to take my trash Mr. Cambell." She said with a hand on her hip and a slight edge in her voice. "Shall we go?" She turned to the other man as they started down the stairs, "It was nice meeting you, but I believe you have unpacking to do before the get together in Mr. Cambell's apartment. Do you not?" She smiled charmingly and continued to descend the stairs.

Caelub laughed at Joshua and put his surplus of snack on the counter to get rung up. "Don't mind him, he's all bark and no bite." He grinned at the cashier. After getting his bags, he walked over to helper boy and nodded. "Ready to go yet? Or do you need time to defuse the commie bomb?" His said in his natural Russian accent. He hadn't meant to let it slip out but it was too much fun messing with Joshua.

Joshua's cheeks were full of gum by this point. He had a handful of gum balls, and at least two in his mouth he was trying to break down. The blue had stained his lips, but he didn't care because it was just so good.
"You know nothing till you have to go without this stuff." He told him through his puffed jowls as they headed back home. It seemed to take them less time to get home than it did to get to the market.

"why do you need to hit on everything you see, I've been to Russia you know not everyone is like you." Joshua asked, he just couldn't understand how he could be like that. Joshua knew none of these girls, and so trying to jump into something so soon could mean not getting to know them first. You have to weed out the crazy ones first in his opinion.


Charlotte stood there for a moment, this was just like back home. As soon as there was a crowd she became invisible, and it drove her nuts. She couldn't explain why it seemed to happen, it just did. Maybe she was to short, or to boring to others she didn't know. Her brother would find her sooner or later, with that in mind she decided just to go wait by Alex's door. Kneeling on the floor she waited to help him set up, but he seemed to busy with the new foreign beauty. Even now she couldn't deny Caelum was pretty for a strong minded girl. Sitting there, Charlotte was just resting her head on her hand watching everyone walk around like crazy to move in.

Caleb laughed at his friend's gumball antics. The walk back seemed nicer, but faster. "Haha you've been to my home?" He smiled but it didn't hold humor. "I'm only half Russian..." He confessed. "My mother, our mother" He corrected adding Caelum to the conversation. "She had an affair with another man while our father was away on a business trip." He shrugged. "She was always a woman of 'good Russian values' as my grandpapa would say, until that day." He shifted a bag from his wrist to his fingers. "She slept with some American, they were both drunk and it was a one night thing. My mother doesn't remember his name." They were almost back now, he could see a group of people coming from the stairs.

"I don't hit on everything I see." He changed the topic so that his sister didn't hear his confessions of their heritage. "Just girls." He winked at Joshua. "My happiness is important to me, why waste time staring at a girl when you can talk with her? Who cares if she thinks your a total idiot." His good natured shrug half-hearted.

Joshua didn't think he would be so open with someone he just met, but it was nice to find someone who could tell it like it was no matter who they were with. Normally people lied until you found the truth for yourself. As for his way with girls it was actually good for Joshua to know. Acting like an idiot was the first thing that kept Charlotte away from a guy. If Caleb kept to his stupid ideas Joshua wouldn't have to worry abut him climbing into bed with his sister. As nice as he was, Joshua really didn't like the idea of someone being with his sister. she was to good for anything in this world, but all brothers thought that about their sisters.

walking inside Joshua lead Caleb to his place so he could explain what he was about to do. That was when he saw a mess of red hair on the floor. Why was Charlotte just sitting there?
"Charlotte? You fall in love with the floor or something?" He asked her as he held his hand out for her. When she looked up at him it looked like she was ready to cry. Why was she just sitting there looking this way?
"Come on get up." he grabbed her hand and pulled her along with them.


"I was waiting for Alex to help set up..." Charlotte explained to her brother timidly. She couldn't see her face, so she had no idea she looked so sad. Normally if she wasn't smiling she looked pissed off so at least people were going to think she was bitchy. Nope now they were going to think she was some cry baby.
"he went to help some other people, I thought waiting would be a good idea."

"You don't wait for men, they wait for you." Joshua told her harshly. He hated seeing his sister just sitting off on the sidelines like that. Even if she had a valid excuse for sitting there he didn't like it. His sister wasn't going to be the kind to wait.

Caleb listened but couldn't help interject. "That's right darling!" He stepped in and put his hand on her should after moving all the bags to one hand, which nearly sprained his wrist. He just had to buy the damn milk. "Men will always come to you, especially with that pretty face like yours." He laughed and then let her go to get his bags. "Sorry man I couldn't stop myself." His laugh and happiness was back now that he didn't have to think about his family's newly revealed secrets.

"Your looks shouldn't be what matters to people" Charlotte replied to Caleb as they went into their apartment. She just took a seat in the open kitchen watching the two put their bags down. As soon as Joshua dropped his bag he started looking through the cabinets.

"Where do we keep the bowls? I need a big one, like huge." Joshua asked his sister before he turned to Caleb.
"You can put your stuff in the fridge till you are ready to head home dude." He went back to looking around when he finally found a bowl. Tossing it up on the counter he grabbed the gummy bears, and then poured the ever clear on them till they started floating.

"These are great, they are gonna like double in size once they absorb the alcohol. It's like a drunk fruit snack. We did this a lot in Germany when we were off duty." He smiled as he just let them sit, and then grabbed another bowl and made some with the vodka.


"Joshua do you really have to make these?" Charlotte was not looking forward to him bringing alcohol. In fact he didn't even think of okaying it with Alex. what if he didn't like alcohol, and here Joshua was making these crazy snacks. Now she was going to have to talk to Alex, and she knew Joshua wasn't the kind of guy to take no. If he couldn't bring them, he was gonna eat them here and then come. her brother was so rude, and it was getting under her skin.
"You should really ask Alex if this is okay." She tried reasoning with her brother even though he wasn't going to listen.

"he'll be fine. Everyone is gonna want to loose up anyway." Joshua explained.

Smiling to himself that the rock star Chris had been dismissed and that he was left spending time with Caelum, Alex trudged forward with his bag. He led Caelum through the apartment and out the back door to the dumpsters at the end of the parking lot.

"So you know where they are next time. Would you like to go with me to that Indian restaurant? Maybe Saturday if you aren't busy?"

They walked back to the apartment slowly. Alex lingered, enjoying the company.

When he reached his apartment, Alex unlocked the door. "I was just going to setup for the little party." He added more quietly to himself, "Charlotte was going to help me... where did she go?" Shrugging his shoulders dismissively, Alex pushed the thought to the back of his mind. She probably found something better to do anyway.

Chris shrugged at the dismissal, not really caring either way whether or not she was into him, but he was definitely going to see if she could play an instrument or, hopefully, sing cuz her style was exactly what he's looking for. He continued upstairs and tossed the bag at Rowan with a friendly laugh saying, "Last bag dude, think fast!" He looked at Lexi and smiled in a friendly way, extending a hand saying, "Hey, don't think I caught your name, mine's Chris Rawx."

Lexi smiled a bit when she saw the mugs. "That's fine. What kind of tea would you like? I have just about every kind you could imagine." she asked. She always kept a few boxes of each kind so that she doesn't run out. Plus she did tend to drink it a lot. But that wasn't something she could help. It helped keep her calm and not freak out about things.

Rowan quickly placed his mugs down and almost doubled over when he taught the bag tossed at him. He sighed but gave Chris a thankful smile "Hey Chris, thanks again. Later we are going to need to move my desk into my room. That is where I will be writing mostly, I am a writer, so I will need some quiet during times when I am in my room." He looked over at Lexi and said "Chris is nice." He looked at Chris "This is Lexi."

Lexi looked at Chris when he came in and threw a bag at Rowan. "I'm Lexi Cross." she told him, reaching out and shaking the man's hand. "I was going to make some tea. Would you like some?" she asked him.

Chris made a face at the tea suggestion saying, "No thanks, is there any hot chocolate?" He looked to Rowan saying, "Okay dude, I'll try to keep the rockin' down during those times when you're writing and stuff. Speaking of rocking!" He began running around the room, going through his bags until he found one that seemed to be full of just various cords. With that found, he opened up one of the guitar cases revealing a cool looking guitar.

He then began moving the amps to an area of the room with a fairly large space between the two amps as he began mumbling saying, "The drummer will be there, the bassist there," Once that was done he dumped the massive amount of cords onto the ground and began sorting through them, untangling until, finally, they were all sorted and plugged in, except for one cord. Sighing happily, Chris stood up and grabbed his guitar and the unplugged cord saying, "And He said, let there be ROCK!" He plugged in the guitar and jumped up, performing an epic looking strum resulting in... some light twanging. Chris cocked an eyebrow in confusion as he began inspecting the guitar saying, "Where's the awesome?" What he didn't notice was that the very large and noticeable power switch on the amps was still set to off.

Rowan rose in eyebrows in mock horror "Hot chocolate? Thats gross." He nodded at Chris saying "Thanks man." But he barely got the words out when Chris was suddently rushing around and setting up things. He was plugging things in and flicking things on. Rowan's face showed awe and surprise at the site of his guitar and felt like laughing when Chris did not ntoice the power switch on the amp was not turned on. He said while chuckling "I think your missing something, Chris."

"I can make you some hot chocolate. I don't mind." Lexi told Chris. She had plenty of that too. She didn't drink it to often though. Just when she couldn't sleep. It has always had the power to put her out for a few hours. Though she wasn't sure why that was.

Rayne smiled as Rowan said 'sorry' and then walked away. She went back to her room and locked the door. "Hey Dee. I really should get some sleep before Alex's party tonight. I hope you don't mind?" she asked her friend as she began to wash the three cups that herself, Dee and Joshua had used to drink hot chocolate out of.

Chris looked confused before spotting the switch and did a light facepalm saying, "Duh! Thanks man!" He walked over and flicked the switch and immediately, the electric hum began to resonate from the amps.
