Lexi stepped into the apartment behind Rayne. She looked around. It was a pretty nice apartment. Though she personally preferred her own. So she probably wouldn't be staying long. She moved to stand near the other two women in the room, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
She still wasn't sure why she came. She was not good in groups. Luckily for her there weren't many people here yet. If too many people came, she would probably leave. "Yes.. Thank you." she said, smiling a bit at Alex as she took some off the tray. |
Charlotte really didn't have a reason for leaving, and she felt bad for abandoning him. Watching him move around in a frantic motion she felt like it was her fault.
"I'm sorry....my brother needed me...." She told him softly as he walked past, but he was to fixed on the other girls now. Why wouldn't he be, they were attractive and not pron to yelling at others. Charlotte just made her way to the back of the party as she felt bad for leaving him earlier. Joshua smiled as he scooped them out and put them in a dry bowl for the party. The remaining alcohol went in a container in the fridge for later. "Do what you want man, I don't care. My place is your place." he told him even though it was actually Charlotte's apartment. Not that he cared after this month he was going to be splitting the bills so he has every right to it. Joshua grabbed his sunglasses, and double checked his looks in the mirror before called for Caleb to follow him to Alex's place. |
Caleb gave Joshua a playful pat on the back as they walked out of the apartment. "This is going to be one hell of a night." His grin was full of mischief, he couldn't help but try to have a good night out. He felt he deserved it. They walked down to Alex's apartment and Caleb ran his hands through his hair to make sure he didn't look like a total slob. "Those gummie bear bombs better be amazing." He said as they hit the stair landing. "I don't want to have to throw one at you for your weak American alcohol tolerance." He joked.
Caelum threw her purse down on the table. Did she over dress? She looked at herself in the mirror. Dark black jeans with a nice black and grey sweater dress over them. She felt it was civilian enough. Though she'd only studied American girls for a short time. She pulled her hair out of it's tail for the thousandth time and threw the band on the table with her purse. "Okay Razavan, just go, you're acting like an idiot." She took her keys out of the bag along with her cellphone and strode out the door. She would go to the damn party, get to know her neighbors and then leave before it got too late. She had an assignment in the morning. She opened the door and saw her brother, perfect she thought and ran down to meet them. "Mind if I join you two?" She asked and put her arm around her brother in a small gesture of affection. "I was just thinking about going in for a bit." She looked at the candied plate. "A gift?" She asked. |
Joshua pulled the others into Alex's apartment. There was no need to knock for a party, and really he just didn't like knocking. Looking around he saw they weren't the first to arrive, so he wasn't as late as he thought they'd be.
"You know Caelum, in America girls love gummy bears." He snickered as he held one of the bowls out to her. Joshua was just being a nice person and offering her something his country loved, and something her country loved. Really it was the best of both worlds in that bowl. Holding it out he couldn't help but grab a few himself. Chewing the fruity snacks that now held an after burn from the alcohol, but it was just too good to stop eating. "Just have some fun....and a gummy." He winked. |
Caleb watched Joshua offer his sister a gummy bear, he doubted she would take it, but it was worth a shot. He looked over at the other girls. "Hello ladies!" He called over and grabbed a couple of gummy bears to offer. "Gummy candy?" He held them out to the girls as a peace offering with a huge grin on his face.
Caelum eyed Joshua suspiciously. "Boys that hang out with my brother don't always call me Caelum. They call me sister." She nearly said sister in Russian but she caught herself. "I'm not sure what your game is with those laughing eyes of yours, but ok." She took a gummy candy and stuck it in her mouth. "Hm.." She chewed. "This has too much kick not enough sweet, but it's good." Caelum, who had never had a drink in her life had no idea that the 'kick' was everclear. Being a Razavan woman though gave her a natural tolerance to the alcohol. "Did you make these?" She wondered if there was some secret to making them so chewy. Maybe she could learn it and make them sweeter. She was a sucker for sweet things, even had a hidden candy stash in her room upstairs. "I want to make these." She smiled at him, it was the first real smile she'd given all day. |
"I don't care if you trust me or not. It is nothing off my back, I was just offering you some candy...but I advise not to eat to many." Joshua really didn't want to give away the secret right away and stop her from enjoying herself. watching her eat the small candy with ease it was clear she wasn't a light-weight like Charlotte. He would really have to watch out for her and make sure she didn't over do it.
"I might let you help the next time I make them." He told her as he set the bowl down so he could actually enjoy himself as well. charlotte was feeling outcasted again, as if forgotten. Not knowing what else to do she went up to the other girls that were over by Caleb. It might have made her seem like she wanted to be around him, but right now it was better than being alone in the corner. "You really should tell people what you have before you just hand it out like that." Charlotte told him like a mother, but she knew he wasn't the kind to listen. |
Alex was thankful that his awkward moments with the ladies had passed relatively painlessly, but he wasn’t comfortable with Caelum there. She had so clearly rejected him that he skirted around her and looked at his feet instead of her face.
“Thanks for bringing something.” He said to Joshua, before looking at the bowl of candy. “…gummy bears huh? That’s a little unusual.” Grabbing one he tossed it in his mouth and immediately recognized the taste of alcohol. It burned as he swallowed the treat, but he relished the feeling. Maybe after a few more of these he could relax a little and forget Caelum. He popped two more into his mouth. Glancing around the room Alex said, “I’m glad all of you showed up. You can sit where you like. If you want to set the bowl of candy on the counter with the other food you can.” He would break out the alcohol in a little bit. There was no way he wanted to spoil Caelum getting drunk off the candy. Walking closer to Lexi, Alex really noticed the shy girl for the first time. She was one of the younger ones in the room, but she had a quiet maturity about her that he liked. He also liked the way her thick black hair hung like soft silk. He began to think to himself that he might just like dark haired beauties. If he couldn’t attract the icy Caelum, he would try and get to know the shy girl. “Hi there. We met earlier right?” He gave Lexi the most charming smile he could, flashing his pearly whites. “Do you like it here? Seems like there are a lot of nice people just moving in.” |
Lexi turned to look at Axel when he came to talk to her. When he smiled at her, she automatically smiled back. "Yeah. I do like it here. The people seems nice." she said. She looked around at all the people. Everybody here did seem pretty nice.
"My father didn't really want for me to move here. He would rather of had me stay home with him. But my brothers managed to convince him to let me live on my own." she said. She smiled a bit to herself at the memory. Sure, it had turned into a huge yelling match between her father and her brothers, but everything turned out fine in the end. So that was good. |
Joshua was glad Alex didn't give the secret away in front of Caelum. It really would be a shame if she stopped eating them because she learned the truth. Doing as Alex directed, Joshua made his way to the kitchen, and found a place for his snacks. He'd made sure they weren't completely in the open so people would be grabbing handfuls at a time. Then again once people were feeling the effect he was sure they would stop eating them like the candy they were. From there he just made is way around. Not saying much until he found Alex again.
"Thanks for the party." Patting him on the shoulder, he smiled. |
Watching as the man from before made his way over to her*. She smiled as he held out a handful of gummy bears and then nibbled her lip as she thought about taking one. When she saw the cheeky grin on Caleb's face, Rayne smiled even more and couldn't help but reach forward and take one of the sweets out of his hand. She popped it in her mouth and began to chew it... When got a sudden taste of alcohol streaming through her mouth, Rayne giggled. "Nice trick!" she smiled and took another from his hand. They were possibly the naughtiest, yet yummiest sweet she had ever had.
"Caleb right?" she asked and smiled. "I'm Rayne. We've met and introduced ourselves once already today, but it's been pretty hectic so I doubt you remember me!" she smiled and then swallowed the gummy bear she had been holding in the side of her mouth to allow the alcohol to circulate her taste buds and so that she could talk. Holding out her hand, Rayne smiled at Caleb. He might be some kind of player, but she was sure he was actually a really nice, normal person somewhere inside of him... Maybe. The last thought made her want to giggle. She should never make any kind of assumption about anyone... Not in her line of work anyway. Something like that could get her into trouble. Keeping her head in the same position, Rayne glanced to the side and saw Lexi talking to Alex. She smiled at the sweet sight of it... Lexi seemed so shy, and it was really nice to see her talking to someone. [[*I just assumed that Caleb was coming over to where Rayne was stood as she was the only girl in a group. Just appears that the group she was with dispersed :(]] |
Caelum tried to talk to Alex but he had spoken to Joshua and her manners wouldn't allow her to interrupt. But then he'd walked away and she tried to follow him but she noticed he went to another woman. Caelum, deflated and slightly irritated that she was bushed away so casually, went back to Joshua. "I'm going to need a lot of these." She mumbled as she grabbed another handful. "Do you have more?" She took the bowl from his hands and started for the sofa. "You should sit with me." She told him while leading him. "Please...." She didn't look back.
Caleb grinned down at Rayne and he popped another gummy bear into his mouth. "Of course I remember you, how could I forget such a pretty face?" His grandfather's favorite line with girls. He shook her and and gave her another gummy bear. "American girls seem pretty strong with alcohol. I'll have to see if you're any match for me." Caleb looked around the room quickly to see where his sister went off to and found her with Joshua. "It looks like we'll have to kidnap the gummy bear bowl though. My sister is holding it hostage." Calen nodded with his head toward his sister and smiled at Rayne. "You up for a mission?" ((lol yes I meant Rayne's group, I am just trying to include everyone.)) |
Blushing a little, Rayne tried to smile up at Caleb when he made a comment about her pretty face. She knew he probably said that to most girls he knew, if not all of them, but still... Popping the gummy bear which Caleb had given her, she looked over to where his sister was. She was stealing the bowl of yummy alcohol filled sweets from Joshua!
"Oh really!" she giggled. "I'll drink you under the table any day!" she smiled as she nudged his shoulder lightly. Lightly was all she could manage as she was so small in comparison to the tall, bulky male before her. When Caleb asked her if she was up for a mission, Rayne smiled. "Definately!"... |
"Sure whatever, but I wouldn't eat a ton of those." Joshua really didn't want to tell her, but he wasn't about to let her eat them by the handful. Girls, they really didn't know how to hold their tongue or their alcohol. Still if Caelum relaxed then he was sure she'd have a good time.
"Well don't you look like a jealous girlfriend." He snickered at her. It was obvious she was trying to get the attention of someone. Joshua only knew because his sister use to get the same way when someone wouldn't give her the time of day either. Now she just seemed to keep her mouth shut for whatever reason. It was better then hearing her complain though. "Try to have fun." Charlotte was tired of feeling invisible to everyone, and she didn't want to interrupt the others conversations, so she went off to find Joshua. "You're going to have everyone wasted within the hour if you let them eat like that." She complained to him once she saw Caelum chowing down on the gummy bears. All she could think was how no one would remember tonight if they ate like she did. |
As Chris hung out upstairs with Rowan, he was about to say something when he heard the sounds of the party and his ears perked up as he set down his guitar and bolted downstairs shouting, "PAAAARRRRR-TAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!! WOO WOO WOO WOO!" He got to Alex's door (it's in his room right?) and just walked through and stared at the small crowd with a grin on his face, happy to meet his neighbors.
|
Charlotte was in the middle of yelling at her brother when a loud crazy man practically busted down the door. His long dark hair hid his face from her view, but there was a sense he was slightly above average on a scale of looks. It was just his loudness that was a slight problem for her, but she wasn't about to pick a fight in the middle of a party.
"Welcome!" She shouted back just to mock him, but she did mean her greetings. "Snack?!" Charlotte shouted again just before laughing. It was actually fun to shout in the middle of a party, but terribly rude in her mind. Smiling back, she downed a few gummy Bears. This was going to be an interesting party. |
Rowan almost dropped his mug of tea when he heard Chris yell and he mumbled "Holy shit." He quickly placed the cup on the counter and watched Chris run out of their apartment. He scratched his head and said out loud "The hell?" He pushed up his glasses and listened to hte music downstairs. He debated on whether going to the party or working on writing but with the loud music, he doubted he would get any work done.
Rowan shrugged his shoulders and thought I might as well join the festivities. He wandered down to Alex's apartment and heard Chris shout and then a feminine voice shout back. He chuckled slightly thinking they were both being loud. He walked inside and noticed Charlotte offer Chris a snack and thought They seem to be very alike. He patted Chris on the back and walked past him and noticed Rayne, he waved awkwardly not knowing if she noticed his wave. |
When Rayne saw Chris enter the room, she giggled. He seemed extremely lively! Jaw dropping, Ray looked over at Charlotte as she shouted. "What the?" she whispered and then looked back at Chris. Clearly, he managed to bring out her friend's louder side; something she or anyone else rarely saw.
A few moments after Chris had burst into the party, Rowan followed. When she saw him wave at her, Ray's eyes did a very girly; yet pretty, feat of fluttering. She hardly ever did this, but he was cute! A tiny smile spread the corner's of her lips as he waved. "Rowan, Hi!" she smiled. Looking to Caleb, Ray said "Back in a few. Don't start the mission without me!". Giggling a little, she turned from him and merrily skipped over to where Rowan was now stood. Being the girl she was, rather than waving back at him, she had gone over to strike up a conversation. "Hey! Decided to join the party eh? Your roomies a little crazy... Don't know how you do it!" she smiled and held out her hand to shake Rowan's. |
Chris grinned widely at Charlotte, he liked this girl, though he thought a more punk-rock look suited her. He sort of ran over, shouting, "Yeah, snacks are great," and gave a little laugh. He grabbed a few gummi bears out of the bowl, tossing them in his mouth as he pushed the hair out of his eyes, swallowing the gummi bears before saying, "So, yeah, my name's Chris, Chris Rawx. What's yours?"

Lexi was incredibly cute when she smiled. Her personality was entirely the opposite of Caelum's. How could he find both women so attractive if they were so very different from one another? Glancing to the icy woman for just a moment, Alex turned away quickly and focused on ignoring her. He would pay attention solely on the girl in front of him. Forget the rejection, he told himself. You can pick yourself up and try with someone new.
“Why wouldn’t your father let you live on your own? You seem perfectly capable to me.” He could understand someone being overprotective of Lexi. She seemed like the type of person people always took care of, but he didn’t voice that opinion to the girl. He hoped he would never meet her father. The man seemed overbearing and probably wouldn’t approve of Alex’s meager wages and many female conquests. Some of the girls were starting to eat a lot of the alcoholic gummy bears. He could see the effect already, and it pleased him to see everyone relaxing (even if it was induced by alcohol.) “Would you excuse me for just one second?” Alex said to Lexi. He took out the chilled beers and a bottle of vodka, setting them on the counter for anyone who wanted. He grabbed two beers, popped one open, and took a refreshing sip. The other beer he brought back with him and offered to Lexi with a smile. Just at that moment, Chis barreled into the room like a bloodhound attracted to the scent of free booze and pretty girls. Alex laughed at the eccentric man and watched as he immediately got to work flirting with the ladies. As long as he left Caelum and Lexi alone there would be no problems. Alex might still be sore over Caelum’s rejection, but he wasn’t ready to see her falling all over some crazy rocker either. He was still holding the beer intended for Lexi, and he held it out to her in offering. “So what made you move here? Sounds like your dad was pretty adamant about keeping you at home. I’m glad he didn’t succeed though, otherwise I never would have met you.” |
Charlotte couldn't believe how rambunctious he was, but even she had her hyper days. She just hoped it wasn't an every day thing since this was a peaceful apartment building, for the most part. Something told her Chris was the kind of guy to be up all hours of the night doing something loud.
"Charlotte, and this is my brother Joshua, and....I don't know your name. Sorry." Charlotte smiled apologetically when she had tried to introduce Caelum, and realized she didn't even know the girl. "Caelum." Joshua corrected his sister as he continued to eat the drunken bears. Sitting next to Caelum he wasn't sure why, but he felt he should stay close to both of them. He really didn't like the idea of this guy hitting on either of them. Especially his sister, still he wasn't going to be the obviously overprotective brother. Joshua just sat back beside Caelum and decided to watch how things panned out. |
Lexi smiled a bit more when Alex said that she was capable of living on her own. Her father didn't really think so. She was going to prove him wrong. She nodded slightly when he saw to excuse him for a moment. As she waited for him to return, she looked around at everybody there. It appeared that everyone was getting drunk.
"I needed my space. My brothers convinced him to let me leave. With some conditions, of course. And I don't want that. I don't like alcohol. Besides. I'm underage." she told him, trying to be polite about rejecting the beer. |
Caelum sat and gave a slight pout at Joshua. "I'm not anyone's jealous girl." She stuck another gummy bear in her mouth. "And I'm not going to get fat eating a few candies." She nearly threw one of them small bears at his head. She watched him with his sister, it was cute how alike they were. She wondered if her brother and herself were anything like this. She snapped out of it when someone else strode over.
She didn't have time to correct Charlotte on her name, Joshua helped her out there. All she did was put on a smile and forced herself to be social. "Nice to meet you." Her manners would be on their best tonight. Though, out of the corner of her eye she watched Alex and the girl she'd not yet met. Caleb walked up behind his sister and drapped his arms around her shoulders. "Dorogie sestry, what are you doing with my candy?" He startled her and she threw one at his head. "Hey! Don't go wasting those!" He stuck his hand in the bowl and took out a few. "Hey, he looked up at the guy in front of them. "Uh....candy?" He held out a gummy bear to Chris. "Forgive my brother for his rude manners." She shrugged her shoulders to remove his limbs from her. "He also doesn't know when to hold his tongue." She eyed him from the corner of her eye. She'd smack him later for it. |
Chris gave a friendly grin to the others, accepting the offering of gummi bears and chowing down on them. When he finished he looked at them and said, "So, yeah, just out of curiosity, any of you play any instruments?"
|
Charlotte thought it was a strange question to start a conversation with, but everyone had their quirks. Seeing the siblings acting so strange, she was glad to see it wasn't just her and Joshua who had their moments.
"Um...I haven't played anything since I was young. I sing in the shower." She laughed softly knowing her voice wasn't an instrument. Joshua was also slightly surprised when Caleb leaned over his sister. Turning quickly, he relaxed when he saw it wasn't some creepy stranger. "Caleb remember what we talked about. I'm not helping your drunk ass home." He told him. |
"Instruments? No no." Caleb shook his head at Chis. I didn't have any skill for anything like that. He turned to Charlotte. "Oh? I'd love to hear you sing in the shower." He laughed and tugged lighting on a bit of her hair.
Caelum smacked her brother's arm away from Charlotte and looked at Chris. "I play piano, nothing more." She nodded. "It was one of the classes my grandfather forced me to take." She turned to Joshua when he spoked to my brother. "Hah!" Caleb tossed another gummy into his mouth. "We'll see if you can even outlast me." He gave his sister and absent pat on the head when he stood back up. "Maybe you'd like to play a drinking game or two" He raised his eyebrows at Joshua. "Unless you're not up to the challenge..." He shrugged. |
