The Path of Nightmares (Still under construction, but accepting profiles!)
(Still under construction but I am still accepting profiles!) The Start of Nightmares What if your dreams came true? And what if those dreams affected reality and came true? What if along with those fantastical dreams of rain, puppies, and acing that math quiz came the nightmares as well? What if soon those nightmares made reality suddenly began to overshadows those pleasant dream escapes turning the world bloody and insane? What if the source of these bloody nightmares came from a place where now the deepest nightmares reside? A place that started out with simple experimentation into dreams. What if it was a jailed asylum? Rumors say it started with a machine that produced the images of the patients dreams into reality to see what made them tick, but something went horribly wrong; an accident that caused the machine to go out of control and target nightmares instead of the pleasant dreams. With the dangerous advanced technology of the human race it wouldn't be hard for the machine to reach outside of the jailed asylum and into the open world. So why is it that those that were in charge of the place simply not unplug the machine? Well from what's been told all but one did not survive the experimentation when they reached their peak and completely went out of control. The survivor apparently had to flee to survive while their comrades were killed. They're locked away now though, afraid to sleep they say and so remains awake and has apparently gone mad. They're perhaps the only person left now that knows just how to shut it down, but then how could anyone trust a mad man? A brave group would be needed and willing to face untold horrors within the origin site that could cost them their own sanity and life along with the 'good doctor's'. Are you brave enough to walk: The Path of Nightmares... The Place The world is greatly changed from how it use to be. People rarely sleep now due to the fear of awakening into their deepest nightmares. Both fortunately and unfortunately this has caused the condition of the world to increase, as many people try to keep themselves busy with work to avoid falling asleep. This has also led rise to the production and advancements of technology, as very few people actually believe that the nightmare machine is actually using their technology to enter the minds of people and prefer to explain it as some kind of supernatural phenomenon. Although there is development, the people of the world have come to cluster together more into a single modern like city. Due to the large increase of insane patients, and the danger that their numbers pose, an institute for the mentally insane (an asylum) has been erected on the outskirts of the town. It is here that the scientist who had survived is being kept under heavy watch. The once correctional facility is located about a day's journey from the city if one heads west. At a first glance it appears to look more like a castle rather than a prison, but the clear tell sign of bars on all the windows and small prison cells inside are proof that this is far from a castle. The entrance to the facility, an old eroding iron gate, has been sealed off and barricaded with large and heavy metal chains although not locked. Rumors fly around that there is a group of officials that still take criminals to the institute, but whether these rumors are true is uncertain. However what is true is that anyone who has ever come in has almost never come out either alive or completely sane. It's currently mid morning. The sun is shining down and it's not too hot or too cold outside, especially for late fall. Many are already at their morning work, with only a few risking sleep and knowing they would wake up to their nightmares... The Rules Follow all of Menewsha's rules and ToS

For example if you're a killer car that's driven by a man eating squirrel-fish that comes out at noon and midnight, then go ahead and put that.) Nightmare: (Let's get some creativity here. I don't want everyone saying that 'Being alone' or something like that as a nightmare. There are a lot of phobias out there that can be turned into nightmares so let's see something unique here!) Bio: (Doesn't have to be super long, but I also don't want 3 sentenced bios. This is also your chance to be creative. What was their life like before the threat of reality nightmares? How are they coping? Did they have a job/go to school before? Are they doing the same thing? How do they feel about trying to stop the machine? Are they coming along willingly or unwillingly? Are they insane? Have they already tried and are now in the asylum? Do they know the 'insane' doctor? Are they a criminal being sent there? Are they just a curious person and want to go investigate? Did they use to work in the prison? Do they work at the asylum? What's their family situation like? Are you a human or a nightmare generated by the machine? Answer things like these if you're stuck and need something to provide more 'meat' to your bio.) Appearance/Description: (Pictures are always fun, but if you can't find one or are just feeling really creative then go ahead and use a description. If you are using a picture though I prefer that you use non-realistic ones such as cartoonish/anime/anything that isn't a photograph of someone.)
