The young woman walked trough the dark with her friends away from the masquerade ball held by the university. Soon though, Sofia wandered of as was her habit and ended up in the park. It wasn't a good place to be upon All Hallow's eve, especially when the stroke of midnight neared. A menacing air was emanating form the high trees which reached for the clouds. This was a strange park, with old moss covered tombstones, with the names upon the markers nearly rubbed away by time. Wind whistled trough the trees making her shiver in her elaborate gown.
At the sound of a twig snapping, Sofia whirled around to find the source of the sound. Her blue eyes roved with panic trough the place in search of the source. Something was wrong, or maybe she was just imagining things. It seemed like eyes watched the young woman, making her heartbeat faster. Looking down at her dress, Sofia wished she had dressed up as a pirate instead of a grand lady. If she had, then she wouldn't have had to worry about tripping herself with the voluminous skirts of the dress.

It's like being a foal again my legs are so unsteady the young man stood on unsteady legs near the portal, he had been in his own world when suddenly a pull had tugged him out of his world and into this one. His gleaming horn gone, his stunning coat gone only a patch left on his head. But the strangest thing was the fact that he was now on two legs stumbling through an unfamiliar forest. His nostrils flared as he tried to pick up the scents, but this nose wasn't as strong as his old one. Old what wait what was I? memories of who he was started to trickle away till he was left with nothing but an empty canvas.
The young man naked as a baby stumbled through the forest starting at every twig snap, every sound of the wind whistling through the leaves. Then he felt again the draw, where he had first felt it he wasn't sure, he wasn't even sure who he was slowly he made his way towards the object that drew him. He glimpsed her through the trees a young lady stunning in a grand dress, he took a step towards her and his bare foot snapped a twig the girl was immediately on alert. Slowly he emerged from the woods, tossing the hair out of his face with a flick of his head almost like a horse.

(I guess I should change the tittle.)
A small yell of surprise escaped Sofia. There was a man in the park, a naked one at that! Quickly she baked away, but stopped when she caught confusion in his eyes. Sighing, she moved forward with her hands held out before her. It almost looked like he was drunk, or had been drugged... Explanations for finding naked people in public parks were few and far between, and that was what Sofia came up with. "Hi there, you look like you need some help." She was very glad to have parked her car nearby, at least that way she could hide him under the blanket she always had in the trunk. After that, well she would figure it out.
Moving forward another few steps she smiled reassuringly. "Look, I know you might not want to trust anyone right now, so I'll introduce myself. My name's Sofia Belding, and I would like to take you to my apartment and find you some clothes. That'll be easy once I call some friends of mine. Then we can try and figure out what happened." The friends in question had boyfriends, and could be counted on to help. Of course it would be a strange thing to explain, but they always did say Sofia needed more excitement in her life.

The yell stopped him and he took a stumbling step back, her mouth was moving but the sounds coming out of it made no sense to him. He took another step back suddenly unsure but then her hands outstretched to him beckoning him towards her. The sounds were soothing and he took another small step towards her. His mouth opened trying to copy the sounds she was making, but his tongue didn't feel right in his mouth and all that emerged was a grunt. He tried harder his tongue felt like useless but he finally managed one word "Sophie" although he pronounced it soophee.
Covering the distance between them slowly he took her hand in his loosely dark eyes trusting, somehow he felt like he could trust her even though he couldn't talk or understand her. An owl hooted out of nowhere making him jump but the sound was familiar and he hooted back at it a perfect imitation.

A puzzled look crossed her face. It almost seemed like he didn't know how to talk, or at least he didn't know how to speak English. The determination she had to help this young man solidified. At the slightly mangled pronunciation of her name, she laughed and smiled."What's your name?" He wasn't menacing at all, and seemed as trusting as a child as he walked up to her and took her hand.
The fact that this stranger wore nothing made her blush. This slight feeling of discomfort faded at the surprising imitation of the owl. Shaking her head, she began leading him to her car. The young woman kept on the alert for anyone passing by who might cause trouble for them. Luckily no one was there, too busy partying and having fun to bother going outside. Quickly Sofia popped open her car and motioned for him to sit down in the passenger seat as she went to grab the wool blanket form her trunk and handed it to him.

He never answered the question because quite frankly he didn't know what she was saying in the first place. The woman led him down the path to a large monstrous looking metal box. How he knew it was metal was beyond him, he wanted to bolt but the woman kept going either unaware of the danger or perhaps foolish. Uneasy he followed behind her as surprisingly she led him right up to the monster and opened its belly. She didn't see the look of shock on his face she had slain the monster!, her arm made a motion a go ahead motion. Does she mean for me to get inside it's belly?" he wondered chancing a confused look that she again didn't see.
With a sinking feeling he decided to trust her and started to get inside even as she again opened another gap in the monster this side in the back. He sat cautiously on the seat feeling altogether to closed in despite the opening beside him. He looked around around the inside of the beast not at all expecting what he saw. There was no organs, no blood, no guts no nothing inside the beast just these rough yet soft thing he was sitting on. "Soophee" he asked used the butchered version of her name

Closing the trunk of her red car, she looked up with concern. That didn't sound good. Quickly, Sofia walked to the passenger side door and crouched down to look at her stray. Smiling reassuringly she placed the blanket over him, hiding the parts that made her blush. "What's wrong?" Sofia asked with concern in her voice. They needed to leave, but he didn't seem comfortable in the car for some reason.
Closing the door gently, she went to sit in the driver's seat. It was a struggle stuffing in all the skirts she had. Wearing pretty gowns wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Sighing with relief, the blond woman untied her hair, letting it cascade around her face. Then Sofia started the car. Her blue eyes searched out her passenger to make sure he was alright. "I'm going to drive us to my apartment now." Sofia stated as she locked all the doors, then put her foot on the pedal to take off towards her apartment at a slow pace.

The blanket was warm and it covered an area that had started getting cold, again her mouth moved making sounds he didn't understand so he tried to communicate with his eyes how scared he was of the beast she obviously didn't fear. He almost let out a little whimper when she closed the door on him, now he was really closed in and he felt claustrophobic. Back straight body tense he jumped when the other side of the monster opened and the woman stuffed herself in. Just her being near calmed him enough to relax a little.
When the car started though he did let out a sound of surprise his hands gripping the edges of the seat knuckles white and eyes wide with fear. The thing wasn't dead! It was alive and going to digest them! It started rumbling along and the woman was completely unafraid she didn't seem to notice the monster was devouring them she sat there calmly hands gripping the round thing in front of her. He made a noise to get her attention trying to convey the danger he felt they were in

(Oh he's just adorable!)
Hearing small sounds of panic and fear, she stopped the car. It was a good thing that her apartment wasn't far from the park. Seeing his fearful face, Sofia frowned. The young woman had no idea why he was so terrified. Gently, she reached out to place a soothing hand on his shoulder. It was clear to her now, finally, that this stranger didn't understand anything she said. Giving his shoulder a squeeze, Sofia took the key out of the ignition and walked out of her side to his. Opening the door she smiled and made a gesture meaning that he could get out.
To make sure he understood, Sofie extended a hand. With the other one, she wrapped the blanket around him as best she could. It wouldn't do for him to walk into someone with nothing on, thought with her vivid imagination Sofie could come up with an explanation on the spot. Most of them would be very awkward, and unbelievable. Blue eyes insistent, she bent down so he could see she was right there and there was nothing to fear.

(Lol I know I love writing him he's soo cute ^^)
His heart beating a mile a minute he sat ridged, somehow she must have sensed his fear and uneasy, or maybe the monster did, maybe they disagreed with it because it stopped and spat out the woman. Surprisingly though she was okay and the gap appeared again on his side framing the woman who stood there. She made a motion he could get out gladly he nearly propelled himself out to stand beside her. If it hadn't been for her hand holding the blanket closed around his narrow hips he would have jumped out of the car naked.
His eyes locked back on the monster with a still gaping hole in its side, it looked docile enough, but he knew, he knew it was still alive and waiting to eat them again. How it could live with all the holes in it's body he didn't know but he knew it wasn't dead. Taking her hand he tugged on it wanting to urge her away from the large metal thing that sat silently on the large long stone rock they were on. He managed to tug her far enough away that he finally felt better

She was shocked... It almost seemed like he was afraid of the car! Wild things popped into Sofia's mind, but she pushed them aside as she was dragged away from the vehicle. If he was this terrified of the car, she was sure taking the stairs would be a better idea then the elevator. Taking the lead, she tugged him behind her into her building. It was an apartment yes, but with an old world charm which had drawn Sofia to it right from the start.
Marching up the stairs without pause, Sofia was glad her apartment was on the first floor. Quickly she slipped into room 20 with her guest behind her. Leaving him in the living room after pointing at the couch, she went to gather things that had been left there by her friends. They'd never come back to get them, or at least had never asked for the pile of clothing back. That's what happened when you were the only one with free laundry she supposed.
A air of boxers were clutched uncertainly in her hands, along with a white t-shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans. Sofia laid them out before the young man. Miming actions for each one, she tried to show him what each thing was for. She was beginning to doubt he had grown up in the wild, away from civilization. It still didn't explain a lot of things, but her mind simply didn't want to think up other possibilities. With each mimed thing, she repeated the name of the article of clothing over and over again.

He followed Sophie as she led him to a large building he didn't particularly like the look of, somehow he felt it wasn't a danger not like the rumbling monster. Inside and up and up and up they went he was shocked by how high this place could go. He wanted to stop and examine a few things but her brisk walk meant she just wanted to get where she was going. Since he himself had no idea about well anything he followed docile as a child.
Inside was a world he had never before seen, color bloomed everywhere on objects he had never seen she led him right over to a soft looking thing that she sat him down on, the blanket was still swathed around his hips when she left the room. He stayed on the soft thing actually enjoying the plushness he bounced a few times. Sophie returned wearing a warm smile and holding some clothe much different then she wore.
She was making a miming motion with the clothe showing how to put them on, frowning he stood up the blanket falling away from his hips as he took the things she called boxers from her. "booxer?" he mumbled sticking first one leg and another inside and pulled them up covering an area she looked embarrassed to see.

Nodding after hiding her eyes, she smiled. "Yes, boxers." Placing a hand on his shoulder, she tightened her hold reassuringly then went into her room. It was a struggle, but she managed to shimmy out of the dress and hung it up in her closet. Rummaging inside, she found jeans of her own and slipped into them. Her shirt was a long sleeved one, with lace on the sleeves. It was a nice soft lavender color, much like the shade of the flower.
Returning to the living room she sat down beside the man. Facing him, she pointed at herself. "Sofia" Then she pointed at him. Repeating the process over and over again, she tried to convey her meaning. She wanted to know his name. Maybe that would help find out where he had come from, and why he knew nothing about the world.

He watched Sophie leave before trying his best to do what she had shown him, the shirt was easy enough just slip on and he was fine, but the pants proved stumping especially the buttons. He eventually got them and settled back on the couch just as she came out in different clothes surprising him, but then he shouldn't be after all he had changed maybe it was the norm. He ran his finger along the collar a little stifled by the clothes.
She sat down beside him and then started a process that confused him she kept pointing to herself then to him and saying her name over and over again. Then it clicked she wanted his name, wait what was his name if only he could remember where he came from. His brow furrowed as he tried to remember slowly very slowly it came to him A it started with an A. He opened his mouth and then closed it lost. A something "Ahh" he mumbled. Then again "Ahhsh" frustrated with his clumsy attempts at speech he tried again and again till he got it right "Ash". Proud of his success he flashed her a dazzling smile that showed off his even white teeth

The first thought, after his frown, was that he had amnesia. A sense of protectiveness erupted in Sofia. She was determined to do everything she could in order to help him out. All her thoughts came to a standstill as she heard him trying to say his name. Her heart was beating frantically for some reason, almost as if she was afraid... Or maybe even excited. When he finally got it she clapped in delight to show how happy she was.
Settling down, she repeated his name with a smile. "Ash" It slipped off her tongue softly, like she was thinking about every letter with care. It was wonderful to finally have a name for him, now if only she knew more about Ash. It was certainly going to be frustrating... Her thoughts drifted off as her eyelids fell closed. Sofia simply leaned over and pillowed her head on Ash'S shoulder. The young woman was too tired to care about the fact that he was a near perfect stranger. Soon, she was asleep.

Her sweet smile and happiness for him showed when she cheered his accomplishment it made him feel all warm and happy to have gotten approval. She said his name softly and he smiled nodding in agreement. But the more he thought about his name bits and pieces started to come to him of his past life, he barely noticed when her head dropped onto his shoulder. She was asleep before long her breathing deep and even with sleep.
While sweet Sophie slept Ash sat there his head pounding faster and faster images flooded back to him, he still wasn't sure where he was but now he remembered who he was. Ashcroft or Ash for short king of a majestic magical race of unicorns, some with pure white coats that made snow look dull, some with chestnut coats that gleamed, or some like him with dark as night coats. He raised his hand and felt his flat forehead it felt so empty without the gleaming horn. He still couldn't speak but he was more aware now then he had been upon first arrival.
He remembered running with his herd through the woods stopping to graze when he felt it a pull. Wandering off from the rest he reached a stand of tall rocks old as the world themselves most animals didn't venture near it, when they did some disappeared never to be seen again. He didn't know what drove him but going against all instinct he had went near the stone, then everything went black. When he awoke he was all alone in a strange new form except for a faint sound of music and the draw now strong as ever, it had urged him on and brought him to her Sophie. He looked down at her brushing a strand of hair out of her face sweetly.

Sofia smiled in her sleep, immersed in pleasant dreams. The young woman buried her face in the crook of Ash's neck in her sleep, seeking some warmth. It was slightly chilly in the apartment to conserve energy. Her dreams were nice ones, wide open spaces, forests, but there was something slightly creepy at times... It was really hard to tell. For the rest of the night she made no other move.
Groggily the young woman blinked her eyes as she came to. Sofia moved her head slightly to see where she was. A frown crossed her elegant features as she attempted to remember the night before. There had been a young man, Ash, and she'd brought him home. With a yelp of surprise Sofia pulled away and tried to hide her blushing cheeks behind her hands.

Eventually Ash had dozed his arm actually slipped around Sophie as they slept. It was her sudden movement that jerked him out of sleep, blinking sleepily he let out a wide yawn that showed a flash of teeth. He still couldn't communicate although he felt a lot more aware now, so all he did was stare at her in confusion. Why did she look so embarrassed to have fallen asleep?
"Sophie?" he asked reaching to pull her hand away from her face which she used to try and cover blazing pink cheeks. His vocabulary now run dry except for well his own name and the name of the clothes he wore Ash just dropped off into silence. He was upset with the fact that he couldn't talk to her and it showed in a furrowed brow and angry look. All he had to communicate was his eyes and body considering his mouth wasn't doing much best he could he tried to ask what was wrong with both his hands and eyes. Didn't seem to work very well

Not wanting to offend him, she let her hand rest in his. Ash was so .. Adorable! It was the reason why Sofia felt so out of her dept with him. The young man had no idea how to speak her language at all. She could tell he was trying to convey something, but had no idea what. Sighing in frustration she shook her head in a negative motion. It was essential to teach him the language.
A bright idea sparked in her mind, and she went off to get picture books. They were children's books really, but in this way perhaps she would be able to teach him somethings. It was how the young woman found herself seated beside Ash with books piled up beside her. Pointing to various things, she stated their names over and over again until Ash could repeat the words and showed an understanding of what they were.

Ash began to grow frustrated both by the fact that he couldn't understand her and by the fact that she couldn't understand him, he felt at a loss to communicate with the one woman who was helping him in this strange frightening new world he was in. It seemed that she had found a way though getting up she left for a few moments and came back with some square items with symbols on the cover. He eyed them wearily face showing his confusion which only deepened when she opened the thing and started pointing to pictures and saying the words.
Slowly it dawned on him the meaning she was trying to get past, those sounds she was making and the pictures she was pointing to those were words and those words meant the item in the picture. Once he realized that he became a fast enough learner repeating the words after her with only a small amount of pronunciation error as he became more and more used to the way this mouth was formed.

Every time he said a word made her smile. Ash was a very fast learner. To show her joy, the young woman bent oer to place a chaste kiss on his cheek. Then, putting the book away, she stood and went to the stove of her apartment. It was difficult to know what her guest like eating, so she began showing him various breakfast things, as well as fruits and vegetables.
Sofia continued her teaching process at the same time. For herself she started making breakfast. Pancakes, with delicious blueberries within. There was nothing she liked to eat more during a nice weekend on a Saturday morning. There was no school on that day, and her job only called later that night. She worked at a book store not far from there, and loved it. HEr boss wouldn't mind if she brought Ash along, as long as he didn't cause trouble.

The small electric thrill that ran through him from merely her lips on his cheek shocked him, he didn't notice her get up from the couch, as he had now learned it. But he did smell the beginnings of cooking that drew him over. Once again following the same process of item word Sophie showed him food. He knew it was food from the smell of it and the fact that some of the pictures he remembered seeing in the books.
The fleshy meat things she showed him, bacon, ham didn't draw him in fact it repelled him. Perhaps it was because as a unicorn he was a herbivore, she showed him eggs but those didn't appeal to him either. The fruit on the other hand did, an apple, banana, even the pancakes she was making smelled nice. "Pancakes" he said in his deep voice holding a banana in one hand and an apple in the other.

With each item she showed him, she learned just a little more about him. It was a surprise to see that Ash was apparently a vegetarian. On hearing he wanted pancakes, the young wasn't sure if she should mime that the eggs had been used in the making. Still, Sofia wanted to make sure he wasn't offended by anything.
In that way, she found herself miming the breaking of eggs, then pointing at the pancakes. It was frustrating, not knowing how to teach him the way to put sentences together. Things would have been so much easier if he could simply pluck the knowledge from her mind. Sofia doubted that would happen, it simply popped to mind because of all the books she read.
