Laharl stared at Anna unsure if she was as 'okay' as she claimed, but glad that the other woman had gone away. He didn't really pay that much attention to the picture, and instead went off to find a better hiding place than the lower deck should the...busty lady come back and see him...or worse...he see her. Flonne did a quick overveiw of it and nodded in agreement when Etna said that it would be best if she put the photo back. She smiled and thought to herself.
They were all worried about her huh? I guess that's why he snuck back with us. |
(Before I post, I have a question; would you like for me to go ahead and do a time skip to have them at Tortuga? Everyone seems to be distracted, or hiding by now, anyway XD)
|
((Go ahead, like you said, nothing seems to be going on and in Tortuga.....well that's going to be an interesting time XD))
|
(Talk about it, like Pirates of the Caribbean meets Disgaea, kinda XDD)
And finally, they had arrived at Tortuga... and at first sight it was definetly chaos. Everyone seemed to be either drunk or arguing or trying to kill eachother. Anna loved it. She cackled; the ship was now docked, and using a rope ladder she climb down off the ship. She seemed to be a bit popular here, too... "H-hey!", announced some drunk guy. "It's... that... um..." Anna cleared her throat. "Anna! Captain Anna! Geez, you drunken idiot..." She stepped off the dock, obviously excited. "Ahaha, this place hasn't changed a bit!" Almost in that instant, someone came at her, holding up a sword. The young Captain quickly pulled a cutlass from inside of her coat, using it to deflect the other man's sword; she shoved against him, knocking him down. He was... obviously drunk, too. Anna grinned, placing her foot on his chest. "Ahaha! Too slow! Idiot!" Everyone laughed as if it were some sort of joke... and then went back to arguing with eachother. Anna looked happy. She was back. Etna gasped, looking out over the town as she climbed down off the ship. "This place is crazy! Oooo, chaos! This looks fun, I'm gonna go fight with some people or something..." The purple Prinny just stood near Anna, looking around. It looked up at her, happy to see her enthusiastic and kid-like expression. "Have fun, dood. We might not be here for that long, you know, dood..." "Yeah. Sucks, doesn't it? I need to just... live here or something.", she responded. She looked down at the Prinny, before picking it up. "Come on! I'll carry you, you're short so someone might step on you." Although ashamed the Prinny agreed to it. "Okay, dood..." |
Laharl was off the ship in a moment, tired of being cooped up on that floating peice of driftwood...and of course all the fighting and chaos meant nothing....yeah right, he dove headlong into three groups of pirates that had started brawling..never stopping to think that being a demon gave him a slight edge over the drunked masses. Flonne hung back in between Mint and Dagger who shook their heads, it was nice to see the Prince excited about something...but for once they were slightly embarrassed for him. They all followed Anna further into the mass of people glad she knew her way...but not as quietly as they'd hoped. Lollie torched a wandering hand...and Abbie and Saiet threatened to do the same to a pair of wandering eyes.
|
Anna, in the meantime, had spotted a table... with people gambling, using a game of dice.
She grinned from ear to ear and shoved one of the men out of his seat, before plopping down. "Okay, it's time to seperate the girls from the boys. Prepare to get your sorry behinds kicked and your spoils taken, you old scurvy sea dogs!" She sat the Prinny in her lap, who was still slightly humiliated but decided it did'nt mind nonetheless. She picked up the set of dice the now seatless man had been using. "Let's gamble!" The busty woman climbed off the ship, lugging what seemed to be a large hammer over her shoulder. She glared, looking around for the demon that had been looking at her like she was some sort of undead beast. She'd show him... she grinned, looking back at her weapon. More so, she'd show him with a hammer. "Now, where'd the little brat go..." |
Laharl was having the time of his life, he stood over the few men that he'd easily beaten and allowed the last one to fall onto the large heap of his friends. He swiped at the blood that trickled down his face and laughed....until he spotted Busty....and Busty's hammer. He let out a small 'eep' and headed into the crowd to find a hiding place.
Everyone seemed settled in, and even Flonne had found a few sailors who were going to teach her Pirate lingo. "Arr? ARRRRR, mateys...uhh....Shiver me timbers?" The sailors only laughed. Mint and Dagger had been drug into guarding the others, but since then had wandered off to observe a 'poker' game as the men called it, and the Mages had migrated over to wait by the wall next to the table Anna sat at. If they were in any danger, she would be the first to know about it. |
'Busty' spotted Laharl. She grinned, laughing and running after him. "GET OVER HERE, YA LITTLE BRAT!"
Anna watched the chaos. She'd already won a pile of gold coins. "Ahaha! You all suck at this. In the name of Davy Jones Locker, atleast TRY to give me a challenge..." Meanwhile, the Prinny had joined Flonne. It gave her a little shove in the leg. "Don't go so overboard with it. It's not in straight sentences." It nodded, currently not feeling the need to speak as a Prinny normally did. "So, you speak as you normally do, but just sort of... throw it in, replacing some of your more normal figures of speech with them." Etna had already ran up to Anna, grinning. "Oooo, look at all that money! Wooow, you really know what you're doing..." Anna glared. "You don't get any of it. It's mine." "Crap." |
Flonne smiled and tilted her head.
"Really? Okay. I'll remember that next time." She leaned down however out of the sailor's earshot. "By the way......what's a 'timber' anyway?" Laharl dodged in and out of the people that had gatherd in the small port while trying to escape the wild swings that 'Busty' aimed for his head. He hadn't counted on her longer legs giving her more speed. He found solace in diving under the table where Anna sat. He poked his head out under her chair and hissed. "Call the She-Devil off!!! Call her off before I lose my head!!!" He dove back under the table backing towards the wall to where the Mages stood. |
"As in, 'shiver me timbers'?"
It stood there for a moment. Not that 'it' should be said, as when it was speaking to Flonne it's voice was obviously male. "To be honest that's eluded all of us. A 'timber' is a piece of wood, or something on those lines, right? It might refer to something happening to the ship, which is surprising, or..." He looked rather ashamed. "Ah, I'm sorry. I know all of them except for that one... even Anna's not too sure of it. Let's just... avoid that one, okay? Don't worry, there's plenty of others to use. Your most important things to learn will be what we call all the parts of the ship." Anna looked down at Laharl, growling a little. How dare he get in the way of her gambling! She sighed, looking back towards where 'Busty' was; she'd already spotted Laharl. Anna scratched her head. "Yo, Valia! You can whack him, just, um... not with the hammer." Vali blinked, grinning. "Sounds good to me, Captain." Anna looked down at Laharl, yet another evil grin coming to her face. "Atleast now you won't lose your head... if even that bugs you you can just stay down there. ANYWAY..." She pulled her pile of gold coins towards her, grinning, pratically from ear to ear. "Now, where were we!?" |
Flonne nodded that determined look in her eye again.
"So what are the parts of the ship? If I'm going to be staying there I figuer I might as well learn where things are." She had slid out of her chair and was now sitting with her legs tucked under her in front of the Prinny. Laharl however was still under the table. He growled and muttered under his breath, he hated being pinned down like this. He would poke his head out every now and then...but there she'd be. Even if the She-Devil moved, he was still in her sights. It wouldn't have been so bad....but when he ducked back under the safety of the table....Lollie, Saiet and Abbie would start that round of girlish giggles again. This outing with Anna and her crew was rubbing off on his vassals. |
(Gah, I'm so sorry it took me so long to post...)
The Prinny nodded, before looking off towards the ship and pointing with his flipper as he named off things such as the 'bow', the 'starboard', 'port', among others. "The ship's got alot of different parts, and we come up with names for them incase we're attacked. That way we'll know where to go, when the Captain wants us to go there--" He jumped in surprise, noticing Etna looming over him. "You know an awful lotta pirate lingo, dontcha, Prinny?" The Prinny glanced around. "Oh... uh..." He made his voice higher, to where it sounded like the other Prinnie's voices. "Uh... yeah, dood! I learned it while I was on the ship, dood!" "Uhuh.", said Etna, raising her eyebrows. "Whatever. So, Flonne, I can't believe you're having fun in somewhere like this! The Prince would be enjoying it, too, if he wasn't getting chased after with a hammer..." Anna sighed. "Geez, chill, Overlord. I'll get her to go away." She picked up her pile of money, having a bit of a hard time trying to carry all of it; she was only fourteen, although quite tall for her age, much unlike Laharl, who was... tiny, for his. She walked up to 'Busty', sighing. "Here, take some of this and go to the bar or somethin'. The woman blinked, grinning and taking a handfull, not greedy enough to want to take too much of it. "Alright, Captain. I'll leave the little boy alone... for now." She headed off, whistling some sort of pirate tune as she went, leaving Anna standing there trying to hold up her pile of cash. "Urgh... stupid... I guess I'll go put this on the ship or somethin'." |
((Don't worry about it XD))
Flonne jumped, she hadn't even noticed Etna when she'd moved. She smiled and nodded. "Why shouldn't I have fun? Everyone here's so nice to me, and I'm learning where all the ship parts are, I've got to be ready to do my part!!" She looked over to the last place she'd seen Laharl and tilted her head as she lay a finger aside her mouth. "He's being chased? Then why are you here? Don't enemies usually go after Laharl?" The Demon Prince poked his head out from under the table and looked around. He then hopped out and moved beside Anna...his eyes strangely.......'glittery'. "How did you DO that!!?? You got her to go away without a fight!!" He turned with a smug grin to his vassals as they all sighed. So much for having the pleasure of laughing at the Prince's misfourtune. |
Etna shrugged. "Eh, I can do that anytime, but, comin' to this place is a whole other story, riiight?"
For once, she actually seemed to be speaking honestly, and appeared happy. "The Netherworld's nice but we don't have places like this. We don't even have a sea like this one." The Prinny, in some sort of nervous effort, had pratically hidden behind Flonne. The last thing he wanted would be for Etna to find out anything about him. He did'nt mind Flonne, but... that devious little demon? No. Just... no. Anna side-scooted away from him a little, staring. "Huh? Well I mean, you know what they say, money talks. So does beer apparently so bars work well to get people to leave you alone, here." To be honest he was creeping her out, and her arms were starting to hurt. "So, I need to be putting this up or someone will take it while I'm not looking." The gold was like a beloved child, to her. But she did'nt like kids so it was probably some sort of different metaphor for precious. |
Flonne giggled. She was glad that everyone seemed to be getting along. Etna seemed happier than she usually was in the Netherworld and Flonne chalked that up to a good thing.
"So you bribe your vassals then.....I've been trying that for years and not once did it work...well, it doesn't count with Prinnies...they can be bribed with anything...." He turned away and studied a minute. He could learn something from this Human, he'd been having problems with lazy vassals but no more!!! When he returned there would be a change, he would see to that! |
Anna blinked, before grinning a little. "Well, that's pretty much all pirates think about, is money."
She turned and started heading towards her ship. There again she was sure that as soon as she'd start to walk off busty would come up with her hammer or something. She stopped long enough to look back towards him. "Hey, Overlord, if Busty comes out or somethin' just haul behind in the opposite direction, hide in the ship if needed. She'll bust your head in but she doesn't dare mess up my ship." Etna snatched up the Prinny, looking it over. "You look weird." That was all. The Prinny glared, squirming a little. "This coming from miss-flaming-pigtails over here? Don't go there, dood..." With a surprised look and a 'hmph' noise, she dropping him, literally. "Fine! Then if I go telling your secret, don't blame me!" He stumbled back, horrified. "No! No... you... figured it out!?" "Yep.", Etna said with a nod. "Your name was Abel, you worked on the ship, you were second-in-command." "How do you know all of this!?!", hissed the Prinny. "I get it! You must've been snooping around..." "Well I was, and that's why I'm not going to tell her if you don't tell her I was snooping around her room." "Deal." |
Laharl jerked his head around and looked about, Busty was stil at the bar....but he was taking no chances.
"I'll.....I'll just go with you then." He hurried to catch up and then stayed fairly close to Anna in the crowds. "ETNA!!!" Flonne cried dropping beside the Prinny to make sure he was alright. She glared up. "That's not fair!! You shouldn't blackmail him!!! He followed us to check up on how Anna was doing!! Love like that should be rewarded not punished!!!" Tears formed on the edge of her eyes. "And don't you even care about how Anna would feel? He was her friend...how do you think she would react if she saw him like this and not the Abel she knew from before." |
Anna furrowed her brows and pouted, but nonetheless decided to agree because she was feeling like her arms were about to fall off. "Fine... fine! Whatever, just don't mess up anything."
She turned again, heading off towards her ship, carrying her larger-than-she-was pile of money. "Pah..." Finally arriving at the ship, the issue of how in the world she planned on getting her money up to this ship came into her head. "Crap! Usually my crew members are there to bring it up for me but they're all down here..." Last she checked she could'nt climb without use of her arms, either. Etna jerked back, staring. "Sheesh, Flonne! He's just a Prinny, like the other ones. If Anna doesn't like it that's her deal and not ours, you love freak!" She scratched her head, letting out a bit of a yawn. This 'love' stuff was boring as all get-out and it was all Flonne could talk about. "Whatever! Sheesh, I did'nt say I was GONNA tell, anyway, you know?" Looking around, she spotted a frusturated Anna near her ship. "Ha, havin' some problems, I see... and the Prince is following, he's probably bored or scared of Busty or something." The Prinny looked up at Flonne, before grabbing onto her sleeve and shaking his head. "It's fine. I don't think she'll tell but I don't know... if she does, oh well. I'm sure the Captain will understand sooner or later, yes?" |
Laharl took a quick glance up and then back to Anna. She couldn't get up onto her ship...not with all that money, so he did the climbing for her, scrambling up the rope that had been dropped to tie the ship into 'port' as she'd called it. Once on board he peeked over the side railing and looked down.
"Now that I'm up here....now what?" Flonne's eyes welled with tears that she had stopped before. There were times she couldn't stand Etna, and this was one of them. She flung her arms around the stubby Prinny and cried. "It dosen't matter if it's our problem or not." She hiccuped softly. "We should be willing to extend a loving hand to those who need it." She couldn't help but think of how Anna had told her that she hated her fellow creatures...but Flonne was sure that it had only started once she had lost her friends. "How sad for her. To think that she's locked away in all that hate." She ducked her head down hiding her face, and prayed fervently that Etna wouldn't let Abel's secret slip. ((Sorry, I was listening to Emo music and it turned into an Emo Flonne XD)) |
Anna blinked in surprise. He was actually helping... without being forced.
"Uh, okay. There's a bucket up there, tied to a rope; lower it. I'll put the money in, and you pull the bucket back up, alright? Then I'll come up and put it away. Oh, and, um... thanks." She nodded. Etna looked back at Flonne. She shook her head, raising an eyebrow. "Flonne, chill. I'm not gonna tell anyone. It would'nt do me any good, would it?" She flashed a bit of a grin. "Besides... I mean, I'm sure he's went through enough, you know?" The Prinny stared at her, surprised. "...Thank you, so much." "Anytime.", Etna chimed, plopping down next to the two. "Flonne, look at the Prince, might cheer you up. He's actually helping the Captain, and I'm not blabbing on Abel. You happy now?" The prinny knew he certainly was. |
Laharl grabbed the nearest bucket that he saw and scoffed.
"I'm not doing this to help you" He snorted. "I just wanted to stay as far away from that crazy lady with the hammer as I possibly could." His words were true enough, but as he lowered the bucket, his face turned a light shade of red, and he scratched the side of his nose. "Feh." Flonne almost couldn't believe it when Etna told her, but Angels work off Faith, and Flonne figured Angel Trainee's should too. When she turned to face the ship and saw that what she'd said was true, Flonne launched herself onto Etna and squeezed the demon girl's shoulders in a hug. "ETNA!!!" She cried happily. "Thank you!!! Thank you so much!!!" She hopped up and down, she just knew that Laharl and Etna both were warming up and that Anna wouldn't be too far behind. |
Anna could'nt help but laugh a bit at his expression. "Just know that if you try to take my money I'll chop your head off, okay?"
Her words weren't... er, friendly, but she did'nt sound too violent when she said it. The teenager loaded the pile of coins into the bucket. "Alrighty, then. They're in." Etna looked a little freaked out by the embrace, but gave Flonne a pat on the head as if she were some pet. "Erm, right. Welcome." She thought of Flonne as her friend but she was a weirdo, that was for sure. "So, anyway, Prinny man... you realize all the women here miss you." The Prinny looked creeped out as he stared. "To be honest the women here always scared me so I followed Anna everywhere. Even when she was younger than this she was good at scaring people off. Infact..." He seemed a little entertained, eyes half-lidded. "This is where we met miss Martha at. Oh, um... well, you would know her better as 'Busty'? The one who was after your blue haired friend. She's a weird one but she was nice to Anna, and apparently still has been. It's good to know she's trustworthy..." He approached Flonne, looking up at her. "Speaking of being trustworthy... I'm glad Anna met you. It seems like she's changed, if only a little bit. She seems to have taken a shine to you two and the little blue haired fellow. Everyone would pick on her for it, because she always had a reputation for hating men. I was the only male in her whole crew, before! So, what I'm trying to say is..." He folded his flippers together infront of himself, bowing a little. "Thank you, Flonne. I'm glad to know that when I'm gone, Anna will still have good friends who will watch over her. That makes me happier than I can tell you..." |
Laharl laughed.
"Like I'd steal any of your money with you looking right at me!!" He began to haul the bucket up hand over hand. "If I was to try and take any I'd do it at a more oppurtune time!" He grinned, teeth poking out the side of his mouth. "How stupid do you think I am?" Flonne smiled at Etna and giggled. She was weird and a pain sometimes, but under all that..Etna was someone she could count on. She looked down at the Prinny and silently listened to his story. When he thanked her however, she blushed and waved her hands in front of her. "Oh nononono!! No need for that. I'm....I'm just happy that...she's not as cold." The last came out a a mere whisper, and Flonne took one last look back at the ship. |
Anna laughed, as if his question were the most hilarious thing ever. It must've been some sort of weird maniac humor. "Pretty stupid!"
She scratched the back of her head. "Seriously, though. That's one thing about bein' a pirate... we steal whenever it's possible. Even if it's infront of the other. Ends up being a matter of who's quicker and who's better at hiding stuff. It's pretty chaotic but it's fun." She looked annoyed for a minute. "It's not like anyone takes me seriously, though. Since I'm pretty... well... young, for a pirate." She began climbing up the ladder, so that she'd be able to put the money up. "It's a pain in the butt! You've got the leading skills but, everyone laughs at you because you're young, you know?" The Prinny laughed. "So am I. I think, when we died so that she would'nt... we only made things worse for her. But... atleast she's not dead now, right? We were all older than her... talking, along the lines of twenty or older. She hadn't been alive as long as us... we did'nt think it was fair. So Asylum killed us instead. We never found out her real reasons for it... nonetheless I'm glad Anna did'nt see her." He stared for a moment, shuddering a little. "I hate spiders." "Where did that come from?", Etna said, staring. "What's that got to do with spiders?" The Prinny lifted his flippers up, placing the tips on either side of his face. "She had eight eyes and three pairs of arms, and one pair of legs. She stood like a human, and she had pincers on either side of her mouth. Anna doesn't know what she looked like and I'm glad she did'nt... she won't admit but she's deathly afraid of spiders. I was going to tell the Overlord what Asylum looked like... but if I spoke up, I would've been figured out." Etna looked creeped out, as she glanced over at Flonne, and then back to the Prinny. "Wow, that is creepy... geez. The Prince has weird hair but that just completely stomps the crap out of that when it comes to the weird factor." |
"He-HEY!!!" Laharl cried almost drpooing the bucket as he hauled it onto the deck.
"Am NOT!!! Crazy human!" He listened for a bit not quite understanding how stealing came down to who could hide the loot better, in the Netherworld it all came down to who could be the snot out of who. His expression turned puzzled. "You mean you don't fight it out to see who gets the money? That's weird." He looked over the railing down to where Anna was and nodded along with her explanation of the hardships of being young and in charge. "Tell me about it. Demons think that just because my old man ain't around they can run all over me, ha!! That's one of the reasons I had to fight all those old farts in the Senator's Office." Flonne smiled. She may have been wrong about the Human World needing Love more than the Netherworld, but she was glad that they wern't completly oblivious to the concept. Anna's crewmate's sacrifice was the purest form of Love she could imagine. 'Greater Love hath no man than this: That a man lay down his life for his friends.' Wasn't that what Seraph Lamington had told her? She shuddered a little as Abel talked of Asylum's face, she wasn't too crazy about spiders herself...she had to love them, but that didn't mean she had to like them. |
