Vincent was a bit surprised when he had heard some at the door. He stood up and walked over to the door opening it. "Yeah?" he asked.
"I..." She blushed "I get what you mean and I like you too" She blurted out really fast and quietly then ran back to her room.
Vincent smiled and came out of the door and walked down to her room. He knocked slightly. "Good job on figuring it out," he said gently before mvoing on towards the downstairs.
She laughed a little but didn't make any move to get closer, then put her silver necklace on her L bear and turned on her small television and found another documentary. She grinned and watched it with her bear.
Vincent went towards the television and sat down on the couch. He relaxed slightly leaving his hand available to be held.
She smiled at him but didn't take his hand. She closed her eyes and listened to the documentary "Why is it that documentary's always have the same stupid toneless voice?" She asked, seriously curious as to the reason of this.
"Well probably because the job is pretty boring," he said blatantly. "And probably because the person presenting it is just boring."
She laughed and agreed "That's probably why!" Then L came down and smiled at them "Hey, kids, I'm off to work." She grinned and hopped up, hugging him good bye. Her smield and hugged her back "Bye hun, try not to eat all my apples!" She laughed "I don't think that's possible, I might not make it through the day with only three, so if I die, it's all you fault!" She laughed, pointing to him accusingly.

Vicent sighed when he found that L would be leaving and was glad that he had her to himself finally. He shifted again so that he could relax a bit more. He was a bit hungry but not enough to need to find anything quite yet.
She stood out in the door and waved to L as he rode off on his horse and he waved back. When he was gone she went back inside and sat back on the couch. She flipped through the channels and sighed, nothing she was interested in was on again, so she offered Vincent the remote. ((Sorry my computer messed up and it double posted I'm probably gonna get in trouble now T.T'))
[[looks like a computer error]]
Vincent sighed slightly as he took the remote and just turned off the tv. "I'm not much interested in tv to be honest," he said with a slight yawn. "I prefer books." |
She grinned "Would you like to read, then? I've got some books in my room but L has nearly a library in his, he won't mind if we borrow some." She stood up, but didn't move.
"Why don't we read out loud since we have the day together, without him, and while not being on the run," he said smiling slightly. He was glad she liked him but he didn't know how to say that he wanted to hold her hand.
She smiled and got one of her favorite books from her room, "Chasing Redbird".
She showed it to him "How about this one? It's a great book." |
"Sounds good," he said with a slight nod. He had readjusted himself so he was sitting like he did when he was in grade school.
She smiled and jumped back on the couch, opening the book and looked at him. "That's an odd way to sit," She said then laughed "I'm one to talk!" Then she moved so she was sitting 'Indian style', laughing again she said the saying she was taught as a child, learning how to behave "Criss cross apple sauce, sit right for the boss!"
Vincent laughed lightly when she said that and then gave a sigh of relief. He hadn't laughed genuinely in a while and it felt good. "So what is this book about?" he asked.
She took in a big breath and started talking really fast "Well it's about this girl named Zinny and she's only thirteen and she lives on this farm with her family and her uncle and her aunt died and her cousin died when they were four from whooping cough and her uncle says he sees her aunt still and he chases her and also she finds this old old trail thats twenty miles long and she uncovers the whole thing and she likes this guy who's too old for her and her older sister tries to get his attention all the time but he still keeps giving gifts to Zinny and it turns out he likes her and they end up going out and then her sister hates her." She took in a deep breath then laughed.
"Wow," Vincent said a bit bluntly. He hadn't expected her to pick out a book that was like that. It sounded interested though but it didn't show in his face. "So basically she dates someone and the sister doesn't approve?"
"Well yes and no, she dates someone the sister doesn't approve of but she only doesn't approve of it because she wan's to date him instead and she thinks Zinny is a looser and doesn't deserve anything, basically." She nodded with a smile.
"I'm glad I don't have a brother," Vincent said with a slight laugh. "Otherwise I might... oh never mind." He seemed to be conscious of his own presence in the room again and started to fidget with the edge of his pants. He adjusted himself so he was sitting on the couch again and considered flipping on the television for distraction from his almost foolish question.
She hated it when people stopped saying what they were about to say "Please tell me?" She begged, not sounding whinny, though, because she knew he hated it when she whined.
Vincent sighed slightly. "If I had a brother then you'd probably like him more because not many people like me," he admitted sheepishly. "I have a low confidence level if you haven't noticed."
She smiled "You can't prove that! And that's what I like about having a sibling of the opposite gender, all the guys I like don't get stolen, but I still get to have a sibling!"
