"It's a nice name," Vincent said with a slight smile. He didn't know what his name meant so he couldn't really say anything else in response. He was glancing back now to be sure there wasn't anyone following them. The steady trot they were moving at was slightly lulling to him and he forced himself to stay awake.

She smiled back "Thank you." She heard a shot in the distance and she looked all around. Then she saw a man shooting at them. "Hold on again." She said before clicking her tounge. The horses raced off but the man still shot at them, making his horse match their speed. She guided shadowfax off the trail into a forest and Cloud followed. There were branches hanging down everywhere and one cut her head deeply. She
cried out in pain and tried to keep herself conceous. When they got to a clearing her hair was soaked in blood and she was beggining to see spots so she stoped the horses. She held her head trying to stop the bleeding and found a small river. She poured water on her head to clean it out but she was starting to get dizzy now. |
The moment Vincent caught the scent of blood he jumped into the tree above him. As the man passed by he jumped onto the back of the horse sinking his teeth into his neck. The man struggled for a while and then fell still. Vincent leaned forward urging the horse onward. When he got to the clearing he saw her. He pulled the new horse up along side her so that he could grab her if she fell.
"You need to get that bandage," he said bluntly. |
She was swaying a little back and fourth and she blinked at him. The boy's face was farmilar but she couldn't rember who he was. She stared at him for a long time thinking about who he was and why he was with her. She finally came to her conclusion, which was wrong "Ala? Ala," She put her hand on his shoulder "Ala, what are you doing here?! I killed you..." The she put her free and on her chin "I think...did I?" She stared at him waiting for him to answer her then she gasped "I did kill Ala and your Vincent!" She finished before falling to the ground unconsious.(Ala was her friend she showed you in her locket that she killed)

Vincent was a bit too shocked by her state to catch her and was surprised when she actually fell. He jumped off the horse and made sure the three stayed near by. He took her up in his arms and placed her on one of the horses. He got on behind her and clicked his tongue slightly and they set off for a nearby village. As they went Vincent tore a piece off his shirt and made a temporary bandage for the wound on her head.

She rolled in her sleep but didn't roll off the horse becasue of how she was laying. The rolling woke her up and she screamed, still out of it from the gash on her head, she'd thought he was someone trying to kill her.

Vincent seemed to have a natural talent with horses seeing how they followed him wherever he went. "Shush..." he sent gently. "It's all right you just have a nasty gash on your head and I'm taking you to town to get better bandages."

She managed to kick him in the back of the head "AND YOU GAVE ME THALT GASH YOU'RE JUST TAKING ME TO TOWN TO KILL ME!" She screamed at him, trying to get to Cloud.

Vincent winced slightly as he felt himself get kicked in the head. He leaned forward as to not be further injured hating what he was doing even more. The scent of blood was driving him crazy now and when he saw the town he clicked his tongue slightly so that the horses would go a bit faster. Cloud was a bit behind them watching Risa.

She growled at him when he leaned closer and tried to shove him away which resulted in her falling off the horse. She made a disgusted sound that was a half shreik half growl "And you even took Cloud and Poe!" She screached, hopping onto Cloud and clicking her tounge to make him run into the town.

Shadowfax and the horse he was on now both stopped a gesture of his hand. He turned them walked along a different path wanting to avoid the girl. He had a slight tinge of pain in him but he didn't acknowledge it.

She finally stopped Cloud and hugged on to his neck for a long time whispering to him "I won't let him get you and Poe, I promise." She sat there for a while before Cloud started neighing and ran back towards Vincent and the other two horses. She screamed at him to stop the whole time and when he stopped, he stopped right in front of Vincent and the horses, blocking their way on. She pulled out her bow and got ready to shoot him, but didn't.

Vincent halted frustrated and pained at the same time. With the bow in his face he examined it acknowledging the fact that it didn't have a silver tip. It would be fairly easy to regenerate anything damage done.
"You know I was trying to help you," he said calmly a hint of pain in his voice. "I'll let you go with these horses." He dismounted the horse still having his hands in the air to admit surrender. |
She finally snapped out of her concussion for good and gasped, dropping the bow and arrow. "I'm sorry...I had a concussion...I think...did I?" She asked, bewildered "Where are we, anyway?"

Vincent shook his head slightly before he began to walk away. He didn't feel like explaining it since she could probably figure it out for herself. He was clutching the bow now, making his knuckles turn white with either hatred, frustration, or because he was merely hurt by how she had treated him. This excuse didn't seem suitable and he didn't trust her now.

She watched him walk away and sadness over came her. "Please...don't leave me..." She whispered to him, hoping he heard.

Vincent stopped when he heard her plea and considered turning for back for a moment. When he had concluded to move on he found that he could not move.
|
She closed her eyes for a while, expecting him to be gone when she opened them, but he wasn't. She remained silent, rembering her brother and friend, parents and so called protectors, who all stopped before walking out on her, too.

Vincent turned around and walked back to her. He was silent though and refused to say anything. He gently stroked Shadowfax who seemed to note the distress between the two and was now nuzzling him slightly.

She watched him come back quietly, then her anger built up "I thought you were leaving!" She snapped.

Vincent sighed slightly trying to come up with the right words. "I don't want to leave you alone in case you get injured again and I couldn't just leave you behind," he admitted.

She sighed "Sorry for snaping at you just seems like everyone walks out on me..." She started petting Cloud "Can I name this one?" She asked, looking at the thrid horse.

Vincent nodded slightly still a little hurt by what she had done, he wouldn't admit it though but the back of his head still hurt from being kicked. He slapped himself once for being so weak and got onto shadowfax and looked at her.

She smiled "How do you like Sephiroth?" She asked, getting on the third horse. (BIG final fantasy fan here)

Vincent paused for a moment considering the name and then nodded. He looked tired as he laid against Shadowfax's neck and closed his eyes. |
