((OK, I'll check in with her later and see whats up. Death's got quite a set of aces up her sleeve. Life is n't as broad in powers. At least not atm.))
"True, but any sailor, and even most selkies can tell you she's a fickle woman too, beautiful but terrible in her rage. And her creatures no less dangerous, like the creatures in her depth that eat both seal and selkie. They make little distinction between them, though most find it hard to tell the two apart unless they shift." He answered, pausing in awkward silence. How long had it been since he'd enjoyed a casual conversation with someone that he hadn't known for ages? It was hard to tell what she was thinking, what direction she was going, in comparison. Pathetic really, he realized. Perhaps he lived too much in the past, relying on the people he already knew how to predict and understand.
"But that aside, what do you think of the Red Seal? Will it suit your needs?"

[OOC: yeah, but still got some tricks, no? hehehe]
Lelandarnofeliascion chuckled helplessly at the ranger as her expression screwed up into a wry and playing grin. "Oh, my dear man, as it is that I have heard, there are many a man of any profession or climate he may call home that would claim that any woman is but fickle, beautiful and terrible in her rage," the lady chimed with a pursed smirk to her pretty lips and an arch to one silver brow. Lea herself fancied to remain quiet calm and level-headed. She was a gentle soul. Yet if one did incite her rage indeed it would be most terrible for its might. Yet her true wrath was rarely discovered or encouraged. Peace was in her heart, not destruction.
"As for dangerous creatures, there are those to be found in all realms and all walks, gentle ranger. I trust you know this well. Why, even in speaking of the teasing chastising of women and men alike, they can each either be most dangerous creatures. An innocent child with a wizard's wand can become dangerous. If one is wise then the danger can be averted or at the least the risk of collision with it can lessen. I am not afraid of challenges. I have seen milennia roll by, many obstacles have come and gone." The maiden offered a small smile and a shrug. "I do not pretend arrogance that I might overcome anything, but I respect wisdom in course of action."
She offered a warmer smile as she nibbled at the warm bread, sighing in delight at the taste of it. Her opalescent eyes turned over to Rune as she nodded her deep appreciation. And of course, the lady swallowed before speaking again. "Oh, I should think it will. Thusfar it is most wonderful in its pleasantries and I am enjoying myself quite so," she murmured with a little giggle and a wink, playing her dainty, delicate fingertips around the rim of her tankard.

Rune was leaning through the door of the kitchen now, teasing someone out of sight, though her voice sounded open and friendly.
"I suppose, thats life." He agreed, then laughed. "As full of danger as new beginings. A bit of an oroborous I suppose, eating it's own tail to feed it's continuation.
An especial irony for him, under the circumstances, but not much to be done about that. "My Lady, I confess you can be hard to read, I can't help wonder what's going on in your head when you look at me that way." He laughed, embarrassed at this admission.

"A peculiar way to state it but a view to be taken sure enough," the woman replied. "Life is simply that: life. A beginning and journey throughout however long it lasts with its highlights and its downfalls as they come each to be cherished or triumphed and forever held in one's mind and heart to grow and learn from during the continuation until the fateful day comes that we are no longer amongst the realms of the living." Lea shrugged lightly. "It is how we define ourselves in our own lives that is more of a matter than the definition of life itself, would you not agree?"
At his words though, she suddenly blushed with a fierce innocence taking over her expression. "My pardons?" Lea stammered, shyly tucking her chin closer to her as she lift one hand to alight atop her bossom. "Look at you how?" Oh, heavens, she did hope she'd not offended him somehow!?

"Well...call it a unique point of view. It's not vegitable stew our Selkie friend is making." He joked, leaning on the bar counter. "No! No you don't offend. I've just fallen into the bad habit of talking to those whom I'm familiar with, others are...more difficult to interpret."

Lea chuckled lightly. "Well all life feeds off of itself, indeed. From the seeds that grow feeding from the sun and water and air of life, to the plant that grows, to the animal that eats it and so on until the body fades back into the earth below to give life to the next that is to come." The woman pinched her brow in a helpless manner. "And I am certainly not a vegetarian."
Though she blushed at his words all the same. Even though he assured her that there was no offense being given. The elven maiden blinked and appeared more innocent. "Then is it that you consider me familiar in a sense perhaps? That you speak with me? Should I be honored?" Lea tilt her head, her opalescent eyes searching his face. "Difficult to interpret? Well, my good man, we have just met. I have my secrets but I am not being secretive about my views or personality."

[[ooc: ok here we go...I'll go ahead and make a post and hopefully it'll help ^^;...then maybe come morning....she can go..meet with Pen or Seifer show back up again or something??? ]]
Lady Lea shared the meal and conversation with the gentle ranger until at last he had need to leave her company back for his duties to his lord and king. The woman felt positively flattered for the way she had been received and decided that no matter her reasons for being sent to this new realm, she certainly had enjoyed herself upon arrival. Seifer was most pleasant as was Rune. She found herself smiling and giggling more than she could remember doing so in quite some time. And that was saying much for one whom had seen more than five milennia roll into history's reaches.
When at last she was shown her room, Lea bid her thanks and offered the proper pay. And a fair enough tip for the entertainment. When the door shut and she was left to her solitude the woman took a deep breath. The room was spacious while remaining quaint fitting perfectly. Lea paced its perimeter before settling atop the bed, as she put her hands into her lap.
It is peculiar to you to be received so openly... The woman helplessly smiled as she closed her eyes to the lilting voice playing into her mind's ear. 'Aye, it is. You know I am not accustomed to it.'
I know, too, that you should be. That you are but a Legend... The male murmured and Lea found herself helplessly flushing. "The Legend ever after to Never Die?" she whispered. There came no verbal response though there was a wave of energy and emotion as she recounted the name that Dolenquarion had given her so very long ago. She settled her left hand near her side at her hip, feeling the comfortable weight of the blade belted there though it was invisible and intanigible to any but herself.
Opalescent optics opened once more as they lifted towards the ceiling. "Alas but you know all too well the dangers that are present when any see me for all that I am, my friend. How oft it is not with open arms that I am welcomed....." she whispered to the seemingly empty air.....
~*~
As night fell into the hours far past its crest and waned towards the middle of its reign, a silvery mist seeped from out of the Lady's room and weaved its inconspicuous way out into the chill evening air. There it slithered like curling tendrils reaching ever higher, spreading as to disappate into the breeze. Higher and higher until at last lost amongst the clouds and stars did it become. Lea released the magic of her spell, the tiny petite elven woman reappearing barefoot and cloaked in violet velvet standing in mid-air amongst the shroud of clouds as the moon and starlight washed over their puffy masses. Only briefly did she remain that way, the winds tossing lightly at her silvery locks before her form began to shimmer and shift again. A cacophony of crackling pops and snaps sounded all at once as bones broke and stretched her face elongated her fingernails sharpened her spine grew and her entire frame began to get larger and larger and longer and longer. Great leathery wings exploded from her back as the silver of her hair seemed to leak to color her entire body like spilled paint. Clothing melted away as she fell to her hands and knees and her neck and tail bone extended. It took only minutes and then Lelandarnofeliascion sighed into the night air, shaking her great head as her frill toppled this way and that like some dog shaking itself off happily. Oh it felt good to take on her true form.
High hidden in the clouds, Seagate seemed but a speck below. To her keen vision she could see its outlines easily as Lea paced amongst the clouds walking atop the air gracefully as if it were solid beneath her huge feet. Her solid silver frame glistened like liquid metal beneath the caress of the dim lighting as she moved to lie atop a particular drifting cluster. Her molten silver optics turned up to scan the heavens then. So close at hand and yet still reaching far as the eye could see. It was as if one were part of that world and yet lost dreaming to be. Where were They though? LeaND frowned to herself in thought as she tapped her tail tip with a deep breath. Whereever it was that this realm was located, she could not discover the Dragon's Heaven Constellation. The very thought sent a quiver through her.
Was that why He sent her here? To discover the plight of her people? But...what if she felt her Twilight come? Or worse, what if she were slain amongst these foreign places....
No...you mustn't focus on such thoughts. Especially when you know not the truth of the Gods reasons or what your purposes of being where you are might be, my lady and friend... Lea closed her eyes, trying to still her thoughts while she smiled inwardly for Dolen's continued wisdom only to blink back open the pupiless optics once again. There was a flux in the magical energies surrounding the woman...no...surrounding everything nearby.
At first she thought perhaps it was only the sensations of the sword's sentience in communication but even as the idea came to form in her mind, she understood it was different than that. With effort the ancient female pulled herself back to her feet, craning her head as her ears perked forwards, eyes scanning. Ah...yes....it came from there. Lea spread her wings and resettled them, feeling the wind teasing at the leathery skin that linked between the mighty limbs. Something had caused a disturbance along the shoreline....it was erratic, there one moment and gone the next like a sudden tear and burst.
Teleportation?
Lea watched the area keenly for several moments later before turning her eyes to Seagate. With a quick murmur she descended from her lofty perch once more under the guise she had become so accustomed to wearing did she arrive as the mists reformed along the ocean's lapping at the reaching sands. The tiny elven maiden knelt, probing her delicate fingers at a spot, feeling the lingering magical tingling left as residue. Someone had opened some sort of gate...blinking through and fast....Her silver brows pinched and she stood, clutching at her violet cloak as the winds tossed it about. Opalescent optics turned back to the castle nearby with a thoughtful expression. When at last Lady Lea snuck back into her room as she'd come from it...to settle down for rest her mind was left with active curiosity peaking moreso than it had when she'd arrived.

He stood on the balcony in the early morning, staring out over the ocean. He could almost feel it in his bones....no...in some deeper part of him that was difficult to explain, and it made him wonder, as many things had, what to call himself anymore. He'd been any number of things in such a long stretch of time. A sell sword, an defender, an prisoner of the fay, an servant of the fay, a knight, an king, an man, an immortal....a dragon slayer, a mortal again...and an guardian. The dragon he had fought had not been much like the silver lady currently staying at the Red Seal. A giant red dragoness, she had been tearing her way through a mountain clan of dwarves before... before everything had changed again, and to his frustration, the Dwarves had called it the price for accepting his position at Seagate, in spite of all he'd done to try and bring peace and order to the ravaged north.
He still had the scars from that fight, and had he not then still been immortal, he wondered if he would have made it down the mountain alive at all. Sometimes he wondered if that had been the entire idea. She'd torn his armor open and then showered the room in fire, and though while the armor itself was resistant to the roar of flame, the batting beneath was not, and on top of damage of her claws he'd been badly burned where armor and padding had been exposed. Ironicly, it was the dragons own blood that doused the flame, when he'd desperately stabbed her in the throat.
That was the 'Mayfly King's' memory of dragons, permanently writ on his skin.
"Listening to the ocean again?" Seifers voice came from behind as the other man stepped out, one of the few who rarely bothered to make his presence known when he arrived. But then, Seifer had his own reasons to be comparatively fearless to so approach the king.
"There's a storm out there. Far out, past where we can see, battering one of the coasts." He answered, without turning back to see the ranger.
"Lives are lost." Seifer answered back. "Is that whats bothering you?"
"I could stop it, but... it would be wrong." He frowned, troubled still by this conundrum.
"I know. It's hard to think about isn't it, but thats what it means to be Guardian I think. To know you have the power to change something about the world, but then realizing that perhaps it should be left alone. Besides, you said it yourself. "I would rather be remembered as being a good king than remembered as the man everyone went to to ask to change the flow of tides, to stop droughts, to turn back floods." He cleared his throat. "I'm a man" you said. "Not a god."
"...I still mean it. If people knew who carried some of the powers we do... Maya alone is good proof of that. Few are the people who can accept the idea of death as inevitable, and most that do are very old. It's a providence the young flee from and spit at. I don't relish being spat at for not stopping a storm that turned a fishing boat and drowned someone's son. It's...it's not our place to make paradise, I don't think."
"It's a hard road, but she doesn't hide it. If I were her, I might. But it's her choice, perhaps that makes us cowards. Or just different. You should come inside, get ready. I do recall we have a guest for breakfast this morning, unless you'd rather leave her to the attentions of the Selkie. Though the weather close is good, I'm sure you know there are schools of fish out. He'll be sore tempted to take to the waves and leave his wife to the inn-keeping for a few days."
"Mm. You're right." He turned back, a wry smile tilting the corners of his mouth as he moved to step back inside.
"Any more word about that strange man? The little brown one with the cat-in-the-creamery smile? I've seen him off and on and I don't know what to make of him. Someone said he was from the mountain ranges, they called him a Xandadite. Someone else said he was some sort of monk, but he didn't look like much of one to me."

[[ooc: ok cool ^^ I was figuring the same but wasn't sure if you had something else in mind ^^; hehehe]]
There was a certain degree of welcomed peace hearing the din of voices awakening within the tavern below as well as the bustle of life surrounding oneself. Lady Lea slept soundly, not rising until the sun had well crested over the reaching waters bordering Sea Gate's horizon. The woman went about things in a seemingly lazy fashion for most of her morning ritual before she set herself to work with fast determination to study over this tome or that from which she plucked magically from within the reaches of her violet shroud.
Lea came forth from her room to pace daintily down to the tavern. A pleasant smile warmed her fair lips, brightening her enchanting--and perhaps eerie--features. Pupiless opalescent eyes scanned over her surroundings as she made her way back to the same seating she'd held hours previous beside the gentle ranger, looking to fetch for Rune's attention to find herself a morning meal.

"G'morning". A womans voice instead greeted her this morning, and the round, happy looking woman glimpsed from the kitchen emerged, wiping her flour dusted hands on her apron. "Sorry love, Rune went out this morning. He's been itching for a swim. What can I get you for breakfast, love?" She asked, reaching over to pat Lea's hand with her own.
Although her garb was comparatively simple, if colorful, she wore a twisted strand of green cords woven with colored and white pearls, and delicate shells. Twisted bits of water rounded sea-glass and barnacled coins also mixed into the curious multi-stranded afair, probably at least as valuable as the inn itself, yet somehow very Rune. Had he perhaps made it?
The inn itself was more sparsely populated this morning, though one definitely exotic face had made it's appearance. A man with dark skin, and even darker eyes, which glittered like black beads catching a fire of amusement, sat near one of the foggy windows, both hands clasped around a mug of tea. His clothing looked vaguely asian, or would be easy to associate with the area, though what part was less clear. His baggy pants, tucked into tall, fur trimmed and elaborately decorated boots, were plain and brown, but his tunic was a deep turquoise with a red cord, pinned by an enormous chunk of turquoise, and further turquoise hung from earlobes distended by the weight so that they hung pendulous, almost comically, to brush his shoulders with the turquoise and silver. An knotted staff sat near him, with another cord wrapped near the top, from which hung more bright silver and turquoise beads on a red cord, with an folded crane in bright patterned paper.
Other equally colorful characters were also present today, like a man with an incredibly tattooed face and only a thin strip of hair running down the back of his scalp. Unlike the asian man, he looked languid, almost bored and as immovable as a stone, perhaps appropriate since he was also mountainously huge.

Lea blinked and the feminine voice before tilting her head with a warm, welcoming grin. "And a fair morning indeed it has been as I hope much the same for yourself, m'lady," she chimed lightly in her soft voice. She gave a pleasant little chuckle, waving one hand dismissively at the news. She hardly dictated what others were to do with their lives and did not expect or demand the innkeeper to remain present just for her own fancies! "Oh, that is well enough. I honestly say I can not blame him." Again she giggled, a little twinkle setting off in her pupiless gaze. Lea glanced towards her own hand as the woman pat it before looking back to the other's features with a chuckle and a noncommited shrug.
"Well, my dear, it would all depend on what you have to offer," she prompted. It seemed she did not take offense to the little pat at all. Touch was such a foreign thing...peculiar and pleasant all at once. But it was just as much for that fact as to the fact that she'd become quickly distracted.
Helplessly, the Lady's eyes roamed over the maiden's decor with avid intrigue. The various different adornments looked all so lovely and precious in their own way. And there was the way the dim lighting caught and reflected off their surfaces! LeaND noted the other two exotic men from the corners of her peripheral vision even settled as she was before the Selkie's wife. The turquoise had inner self twitching and shivering with delight for its beauty and worth just the same as did the woman before her with her lovely accents. The tattoos of the other were a decoration few could resist at least lingering for a moment's longer glance upon. Was that not oft a reason one would decorate themselves so? And for that moment while waiting for any offered menu to choose from, Lelandarnofeliascion had to snicker to herself as she wondered if for the intriguing specimens settled there if it had been one of the reasons Seifer had nudged her towards staying at the Red Seal. She was an exotic specimen to look at, but when there was a variety of such to choose from, it became easier to blend in. Did it not?

The mountainous man let out an impressive, jaw stretching yawn and stretched, either oblivious of, or making a point of displaying his sleepyness for the observer, and settled back into his chair, eyes half closed and a vague and content look on his face, enjoying the comfortable moment as the Lady of the inn continued.
((damn I forget what I called her))
"Well what would you like dearie? I've got some bacon I can put on, fresh eggs, last nights bread and stew...oh all manner of thing." She promised. "Oh do you like it?" She asked a moment later, noting the examination of her necklace. "My Rune made it for me. He says it was for the one thing he loved as much as the sea." She beamed, fully in love and glowing with it. "He's such a dear, silly thing." Though her tone changed a moment later as she slapped the bar counter with one hand.
"Jericho! You get your feet off my clean tables RIGHT now!" This was followed by a bright laugh from the dark man in the corner, and an embarrassed cross between a snore and a start from the tattooed man, who had indeed put his feet on the table durring the conversation, and swung them meekly to the floor under the commanding voice of this tiny motherly woman.
"Yes'm."

[[ooc: lol! I know what that's like....really need to start like a ...journal....of character names, eye colors hair colors and key traits/quirks just for references! lol ;P]]]
Lea did not stare as the other yawned, her attention already fully back upon the little innkeeper. Especially listening to the growing list of foods. Her stomach twisted in on itself reminding the petite elvish maiden of its emptiness as she licked at her lips. "I know it would seem so unladylike of me, but I must admit that all sound so lovely," she admit with a helpless expression and a soft, self-depreciating chuckle. The noblewoman eased her hand within the folds of her great cloak. She removed a few coins from her purse, silvers, with a warm enough grin to show she was more than willing to pay and had plenty of pocket-change. While remaining wise to not appear any more a prime target for a mobbing just in case.
Lady Lea tilt her head as her opalescent eyes shifted back to the decor the other woman wore. The twinkle reappeared in her pupilless gaze. "I think it is most lovely! Even moreso for so sweet a story of how you came to own it! I can see the adoration in its creation as well as in the one who wears it." The lady smiled warmly, a mixture of admiration and that distant longing for something similar all the same. "You are a lucky lady indeed it would seem."
Lea blinked as she eased back in her seat, looking from her tender towards the two other men. She noted the chuckle as well as the startled noise from the second. A lazy half-smirk curled upon Lea's fair lips to see the small woman boss around so much larger a male. She noted his name noncommitedly to her mind with a light giggle of her own before turning back to the other woman. "Hired help?"

This made the woman laugh, brightly, and she shook her head. "No, Love. Thats Jericho, he wanders through occasionally, but he doesn't work here. Jericho's a bit too lazy to work anywhere I think.
This evoked an sleepy grunt from the tattooed man, who fixed her blandly with one eye before looking as though he were drifting to sleep again.
"Quite an impressive fighter, but I'll be damned if you don't have to hit him a few times to prove that he needs to get up and hit back."
A moment later, before Jericho could, if he had intended to, comment upon this, the door opened and Seifer stepped through, leaning on the door frame with a faint hitch of a smile.

[[lol love the debonair entrance there ;P hehehe]]
Lea blinked as she looked back over towards the man briefly. Aye, she'd caught his name already. But, did the lady not ask him to clean the tables? Or had Lea been mistaken? The woman knew she might have been. Social societies were not always her specialty. Though she held a great vault of knowledge within her mind she had had little experience amongst the throngs of those she had always dwelt nearto. And the maiden had certainly never had any sort of hired help herself. Lelandarnofeliascion was a loner. Though hardly of her own wishes. The woman accomplished most everything by herself. The greatest aid she ever had was oft in the form of some conjured telekenetic force to lift this or that or some other incantation summoned up.
A soft blush came to her cheeks as she giggled to her companion's words. "Mmm, perhaps our friend, Jericho, is more a man of peace than war instead? Serenity over conflict?" Lea chimed in a light voice before smiling all the moreso. "Or simply needs some long hours of rest." Before she could tease any further or ask for any thing else on the subject though, the goodly ranger made his entrance. Instantly the silver-haired woman seemed to smile even more. She nod to him in greeting, catching his own grin and putting a tilt to her head in curiosity for what had conjured it to his rugged features.
"Vedui'! Fair morning, Good Ranger," she called in her sing-song voice.

"Good morning, Lady." He offered, looking to the assembled crew with curiosity and some amusement, though his gaze lingered with pointed curiosity on the brightly colored man in the corner, who sipped his drink with an look of cat like contentment.
"Seifer!" The innwoman called. "I'm just about to go fetch the young lady some food, I'm assuming you're here for her? She's just been meeting Jericho, such as it was."
Jericho grunted slightly and shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck sleepily.
"...If by peaceful you mean I hate to be bothered..." He noted, seeming to take no offense or even register the polite taunting. "I don't see the point unless I can't avoid it. Then I just want it over as quick as possible so I can go back to my nap. People are so inconsiderate."
"If you thought you could, Jericho, you'd scold the sun into standing still so you wouldn't have to be bothered moving for that either." Seifer joked, shaking his head. "I am here for the lady, but also to extend the King's invitation to breakfast if she is so inclined."

[[lol! oopsie then I read it wrong ^^; my bad lol...accidently gave Lea a senile moment! lol]]
Lea grinned as she nod to Seifer's words. "That it has been indeed thusfar," she chimed in return. The woman looked back to the innkeeper's wife with a soft chuckle before helplessly giggling at getting some murmur of response from Jericho himself.
"Oh, heaven's me, it does speak," she chittered quietly, placing a hand atop her bossom in a playful teasing manner directed mostly at her other female companion to enjoy in the humor. Though just as fast a sobering half-grin curled her fair lips as she bowed her head to the drowsy man. "Well do forgive me if I have factored into those you would deem inconsiderate my good man," she returned in a light voice. The silver-haired lady's lips remained parted as if she perhaps thought of more to say and indeed could've fetched at all sorts of discussions on peace, why one should work towards it, and admiration of those that would avoid conflict at the very least! with such a prompted opening!, but they instead fell to nothing but a whisper of breath as she exhaled. Her attention caught instead upon the good ranger's words. And moreso his announcement of invitation.
"Heaven's me, the good ranger is here to fetch for me!" Lea teased after a moment, a soft blush coming to her cheeks. "And at the King's invitation as well! I find myself helplessly flattered!" The maiden giggled as she swallowed, hardly lying when she spoke those words. She did not wish to be rude and keep the king waiting...and if there was an offer of breakfast there, then truly she would not be missing out on that factor either. Yet her stomach whispered even as she tried to hush it, absently placing one dainty-fingered hand atop it. A simple little pursed pout came to her pretty lips as she looked back to her hostess.
"Alas, my dear, though your banquet does sound oh so very tempting I think it would be far too rude of me to decline such a wondrous invitation from the King himself. I fear I might have to await on sampling more of your fine cuisine until later. I do hope you can forgive." Lea offered a sweet smile and a bow of her head before looking back to Seifer.

"I did say I'd return didn't I?" Seifer offered with a chuckle, as the woman flapped a dishrag dismissively before wiping down the counter.
"Don't you worry, there'll be plenty later to be sure. About time I started seeing pretty women around that castle. I'm sure there's plenty of not so decent folk who would be quite happy to try and get themselves crowned queen."
Whatever the truth was, she seemed certain enough that she had the right idea, which made Seifer cough and roll his eyes slightly.
"Shall we then?" He offered.

[[ooc: sorry if my posts tonight are a lil...off....they've got the tv blaring behind me and it's highly distracting ^^; ]]]
Lea blinked and giggled, blushing softly with a nod. "Well, aye, it is true that you did," the woman intoned. There was something about his laugh that made her cheeks turn that slight rose. She felt somewhat foolish and yet how could she not be flattered at indeed the ranger had returned and with the welcome of the king. To be honest, it was an honor to simply have been welcomed kindly in the first place and that she was still being recieved as such was...wonderful.
The woman blinked and turned back to the barmaid. She offered a warm smile that was quickly faltered into a reddening blush and a rough swallow. Her lips worked but she could only blink, uncertain of how to reply to that. Q-queen? She wasn't.....why no that wasn't why....Lea looked over to Seifer at his cough, and cleared her own throat to try to regain her composure.
"Well, certainly, I know nothing of what ladies have or have not been about the castle. I am only gracious and most honored to receive the invitation. And think it wise not to dally any longer." She nod to the ranger and swept off from the stool to stride over and offer out her arm to the man.
