Reserving for...you know...pr0n. Kidding! Character profiles perhaps, art, and anything else we want to occupy this space with?
EDIT: Here is the OOC thread for discussing what we can do for the plot. ^^ Feel free to bounce ideas around. Anything is fine to get our thinking caps on!

(starting things off, hope neither of you mind <3 I'll use different colors for each char so it isn't confusing, blue for Atreiyu, dark red for Jat)
A boy stood in front of the boarding school, a mixture of anxiety and relief flowed through his veins. Bandages lay across his face hints of blood already seeping through, idly he moved an arm up that was clad in a long sleeveglove that dragged on the ground when his arms were straight, it seemed the only thing holding up the thing was a chain-belt clamped to his bicep in a bruising grip. Fingers peeked out a hole unnoticeable before to rub across the bandages.
His face cringed a bit as he sighed, the wound wasn't deep enough to leave a scar but he learned it was never a good way to start a school year with a lot of people asking him what happened. He just disliked human contact, that's all. He had perfectly good reasons for it anyways.
He looked around hesitantly and grabbed his rather small bag of belongings and headed inside. He must be the only one who turned up to the school alone without parents to say goodbye to him. He shrugged making the chains across his back and chest clink with the movement, the wound across his face was his dad's way to say goodbye anyways.
The building was imposing but it was his one way of escape, and for that he was truly thankful. He looked around the main hall for the office, he'd been directed to head there for his room number and class schedule. This was the first time he'd been to a boarding school and he was leery of it, leery that he may not be able to get alone time for himself for room mates were necessary and a shared bathroom wouldn't be enough. Thinking about it made the space between his shoulder blades itch and with his free hand he scratched at the spot and tried to will the itch away.
With short white hair and wide blue-red eyes he wasn't exactly a normal sight to the secretary, the bandages across his face weren't of great help to keep the secretary from being shocked.
"Are you okay?" The boy nodded silently. "Well.. if you need them changed the nurse's office is in this same hall. Name?"
"Atreiyu."
"And what's the last name?"
Atreiyu shrugged, this movement made the itch return and he grimaced as he scratched again as the itch grew painful. "Don't have one."
"Oh! Alright.." the secretary was looking at him strangely but he kept silent, he spoke as little as possible and it got results anyways. "Well here's your schedule and room number and key... Nurse's office is two doors down and across from here, there's a public washroom on each floor of the dorm halls. The orientation ceremony will start at Noon sharp, don't be late they'll be giving you a tour around the school."
Atreiyu nodded and turned to leave the office, a small sigh emitting from his lips. He wondered if he'd manage to even find the dorm halls to his room.
A tall boy dressed heavily for the heat of the day walked up to the school an arm sheilding his face from the sun. A grimace was on his face but strangely it was not unfriendly, but just a grimace of discomfort.
Without a second of hesitation to look up at the building he knew for two years he walked into the building walking passed the office. He'd been promised the same room for all the years he was to be in the school and his schedule would be sitting there waiting for him. A smile played on his lips as he dropped his arm once inside and looked around with small wonder.
It was noticeable he was of some small popularity amongst the other boys who had attended for years as they called out his name and he waved and nodded in response not stopping to say hi but headed straight to his room. He wondered who his room mate would be this year, unlike him all his room mates didn't have the same deal with the Dean and so he always had a new one each year.

Elijah stepped out of the car, making his way to the steps leading up to the entrance of the school. His brother's voice called out and after him, but he kept moving.
He was finally free.
Ashley was not about to let him go that easily. He pursued him and grasped the boy's shoulder, flipping him around, and slammed him against one of the columns of the building. Elijah gasped as the wind was knocked out of him, his violet eyes wincing to crush out the image of his brother's face.
"What the hell kind of good bye is that? Maybe I shouldn't let them let you go."
The younger brother freed his shoulder and backed away. He wasn't quite in the mood to speak to him. Unable to look him in the eyes, he rushed in, hugging his satchel and clasping his hand tightly upon his large backpack containing all he would need for his months in the boarding school life.
Ashley narrowed his eyes, watching him vanish. He had friends here who could make Elijah's life...interesting. He descended the steps and hopped into the car to drive back to his home.

The car that pulled up was nice, whomever was driving rounding the vehicle, an umbrella in hand. A few arriving students slowed and stopped to watch the newcomer--why and umbrella? It was hot as ever and the sun was out, not a cloud in the sky. Someone had certainly lost their mind.
The driver opened the umbrella and held it in place as a boy slid out of the back seat. His pale slender fingers took hold of the umbrella and the man got his bag out, handing it to him. He had no parents there, but the driver did bid him a fond farewell.
He was glad in a long black coat, pausing a moment to tug on some gloves and he was wearing jeans and closed toe shoes. It was hard to tell from far away, but his hair was a fair white, brushing against his shoulders as he gazed at the school, keeping the sun off of any exposed skin. His pinkish violet eyes looked at the onlookers with a sigh--great, they already though he was some freak.
Waving goodbye to his driver, Caine continued up the stairs and as soon as he reached the doors, he closed that umbrella and slid inside to pick up his things, dragging the wheeled bag behind him. He'd been told that his roommate had been there numerous years before, so if he found his room, he'd find his roommate and perhaps.. the other boy would be kind enough to show him around? He could only hope so.
(>.> Btw, hope it's okay Kale, I'm hoping my boy can be Jat's roomie x3 <3)

(Not a problem, I left it open for either of you to take the place of Jat's or Atreiyu's room mate.)
Room 113 shouldn't be too hard to find for it was obvious to be on the first floor. Atreiyu looked at the people who were standing around wondering whether he should ask for one to point in the right direction.
Shaking his head he wondered what gave him that idea but instead a hand ran over the kitten plushie's head that was sticking out of the black shoulderbag. He'd find it on his own, many were heading in one direction with bags anyways so he headed the same way to find himself in the dorm halls. Shaking his head he found his room and pushed the door open after unlocking it.
The room looked spacious and looked like a very small sitting room and two doors leading off. There were name plates on each door and without looking at the other person's nameplate he headed for his own room and began to slowly unpack his few belongings.
It was strange to have the sense of freedom. Of knowing that he wouldn't see his father for a full year!! What bliss! Sitting down on his bed he looked at the clock that was on the night table. 11:00am, a full hour to himself before having to go to the orientation ceremony. Closing his eyes, ignoring the fact he left the door open he let himself relax though sleep wouldn't come. It was too strange of place just yet for the sleep to come easily, his ears were on full alert to listen for any movement or sudden noise his body though relaxed was full ready to leap up and hide for safety.
Freedom from abuse came at a cost, and that was not knowing when you'd find someone like the person who abused you around the next corner. Always intent on hiding and running he had to keep his guards up.
The room was cozy as ever having moved some of his own decorations and furniture within the sitting room as well as his own bedroom. How it was enjoyable. Jat went to his room and unpacked the clothing he had taken with him for the summer with the clothes he had left behind, it was good to have a room that was his to keep while he attended, he didn't have to haul everything back and forth.
Drained though as he was when he was finished he lay down on the couch and covered his eyes with an arm, he'd left the lights off but light was coming from somewhere and at the moment it was annoying him. Sunlight didn't burn his skin or injure him physically in any way but it did drain his energy slowly. He'd walked all the way to the school from the bus stop which was over five blocks away and he just needed to rest. If he exerted himself more he'll soon become thirsty far sooner than he should.
Jat opened his eyes in sudden realization, the boy who agreed to be his supplier during the past years graduated he would not be here this year. Jat groaned, he had only enough supply to last him the next couple of days.. he'd need to find someone else soon...

It hadn't taken him very long to find his dorm, quietly slipping in shortly after his roommate. He walked slowly in and went to the room labeled his, pink eyes briefly looking to the fellow boy on the couch. That must have been his roommate, but he didn't disturb him further yet, closing his bedroom door behind him.
He was sweating lightly, fanning himself as he pulled his jacket off and slid out of his shoes and pants. So long as he was indoors, he could wear his usual outfit-- a little pair of shorts, thigh high socks and a little tank top. His socks were different, the right being green and black, striped and the other was a checkered black and blue sock. His shorts were blue jeans that had been cut off just under the butt. They were a bit... scandalous for school, but they were comfortable and really, he could care less what others thought. He couldn't wear it outside and he liked to let his skin breathe when he was free to. The top has a smiling star on the chest. it was loose and cut a little short, showing off a tease of his slender stomach.
He walked out of his room and shut the door again, pushing some of his longer hair out of his face and he looked towards his roomie. "Mmm.. you must be my roommate, mm?" He murmured, leaning over him a bit to peer at him curiously.

Jat had peeked at the heavily clad boy who entered the room but had merely listened to him move around without saying a word. This school seemed to attract the strange, humans and creatures alike but it was why Jat liked the school, you never knew who you were to meet next and how strange they may or may not be.
Black eyes opened once the boy talked and he pushed himself up a bit. He could hear the boy's heartbeat from this distance and almost smell the blood. He shook his head a bit, he wasn't that weak, not yet anyways. Or at least he thought he wasn't, maybe the sun took more out of him than he thought.
When he looked over to the now scantily dressed boy he smiled a bit wondering what was up with the change, but maybe he had his own reasons to be dressed so heavily.
He'd been quiet too long as his eyes drank in his new room mate. "Mm, yes. Name's Jat, pleased to meet a new roomie as always."

Elijah went to the office to pick up his room key and packet of information. The secretary paused.
"You had requested a single room."
He nodded his dark head of hair, his eyes staring down at the top of the desk.
"I'm afraid we cannot accommodate that request," she said apologetically. He raised his head and stared at her blankly.
"W-what do you mean?" he uttered breathlessly. She couldn't possibly mean---!
"I'm sorry," she repeated and handed him his new room assignment.
He took it. Room 113. His lips parted again to retaliate, but he had to accept that she was but a messenger. A pained expression resulted on his face, and he withdrew from the office to go to his new room.

Caine straightened as the other boy sat up, folding his arms behind his back. "I'm Caine. This's my first year here--daddy dearest got tired of having to see me every day." He chuckled, smiling softly still. He fanned himself again, still trying to cool off from his journey there. The heat here was different from his home where the cold was more constant than anything else. Perfect for his condition.
Violet eyes looked him over on the couch and he rose a brow slowly. "Hmm, you aren't human, are you?" He asked softly, rubbing his chin a bit. He'd never run across anyone of a different kind--his home was small and isolated.

A smirk brightened Jat's face at the last remark. He was curious about this new boy, obviously from one of the richer families from his voice Jat was a little surprised that Cain had picked him for being not human. Vampires weren't the easiest to pick out since they had a human body anyways, just the fact they drank blood and had fangs was basically the difference. That and the fact sunlight drained them of energy.
"You're correct," Jat replied slowly wondering how the boy would react to having to live with a vampire for a full year. Many of the roommates he did have in previous years upon learning what he was wanted to change rooms immediately. Jat didn't blame them, he'd want to as well if he were rooming with a vampire. There was always a chance that he wouldn't be able to control his instincts and attack those nearest him. "I'm actually a vampire. I'm surprised you recognized that I'm not human though... not many of my roommates figure it out on the first day."
Atreiyu gave up trying to rest, glancing at the clock once more he sighed. He was used to having nothing to do, used to being alone. But it was always in an atmosphere he knew by heart. He wanted to know the school so he could roam around without getting lost, at least then he would be able to do something to calm his nerves. He needed to know this place and the secrets it held, know where safe places to hide were!
A small panic came over him and he sat up holding his head with elbows upon his knees his eyes were wide and he was hyperventilating. Why did he think escape from his father was the answer?! This was so much worse! He didn't know the territory, didn't know where to hide. He didn't have true privacy and the walls of his room were white, everything was white!! How would he explain how the white slowly turn red with blood? He wanted to get out of here.. go home..
Atreiyu closed his eyes. Home... he didn't truly know where that was. He never considered his father's place as home, but it was so much more comforting knowing he could hide and be alone. His room walls were painted red to hide any blood that would be shed. He wasn't safe there, but he'd be safe from questions that were bound to be asked.

Elijah stared at the name on his roommate's nameplate.
Atreiyu.
He wasn't even quite sure how to pronounce it. His lips moved to form the words out of curiosity. He wondered what his roommate was like. Sounded exotic. He was curious, but afraid at the same time. Clutching his satchel, he retreated to the confines of his room.

The click of the outer door brought him to a calmer mind, just a smidge though. He couldn't help but fear what type of roommate he might have. It was pathetic, to worry so much about what others were like, but if his father and his father's friends were anything like what other humans could be... Atreiyu would prefer to be a recluse.
Sure he's been watching all humans' behavior and scrawling it down on his notebook. A minuscule percentage seemed to act with the same cruelty but even with that data one cannot forget what it was like to be raised by that small percentage.
The boy who appeared at his doorway though didn't look threatening at all but in Atreiyu's eyes first impressions weren't what one should ever rely on. Even if the boy looked.. more.. frightened than imposing. Atreiyu shook his head and watched the boy disappear without a word and threw himself back on his bed, ignoring the itch that had begun again as he had gotten stressed.

Setting down his belongings against the wall, Elijah went around the room to explore what it had to offer. He opened drawers, took a peak in the closet, and pushed up the window to let in the fresh air. Outside were crowds of his peers either meeting up with their friends or introducing each other. He had some inclination to head down and join them.
This was his chance for a fresh start.
At the same time excitement of becoming someone new blossomed in his gut, he felt anxiety wash over him. It was hard to forget growing up with Ashley.
Elijah retreated from the window and made his way to his luggage. He removed his clothing and began arranging his closet, making sure it was color coordinated. Order comforted him. He had control over this. It gave him a sense of power and peace.

the bliss of loneliness, how it was welcome now that he wasn't locked up or confined. What would normally be described as happiness was rushing through him so shortly after his panic attack, it wasn't a feeling Atreiyu was familiar with and because of this it disturbed him. the opposite of fear, the opposite of sadness though he could feel deep down the sadness was really just lurking under the cover of this new feeling.
He stood up and went to look out the window, without conscious thought the kitten was removed from his bag and laying limply across one sleeve-gloved arm, his other hand appeared from the seemingly unflawed flows of fabric to pet the small black kitten idly. To the students outside he might even look crazy standing there with bandages upon his face, his shirt almost the same color as his skin so it almost looked as if he didn't have a shirt on. And after all this he was petting a plushie toy as if it were a true animal.
Atreiyu didn't think of this or care what he might look like to the new student. None of them would actually get to know him. It was the same at all schools, he'd keep to himself the rest kept away from the strange one where it was 'safe' with the crime rate growing though no where was safe. No one needed to fear hum, but they did merely because he was different, not because he was a bully.
A sigh escaped his lips, was this what it was like to be truly alone without worrying that in the next moment someone will barge through his door yelling commands at him? It was strange, he almost felt too lonely.

Elijah finished quickly a makeshift arrangement of his room. He owned little. Back at home, most of his belongings were hand-me-downs from Ashley. How disgusted he was to wear his clothing. It reminded him of the feeling of being hugged or held by him.
A shudder ran across his spine.
He needed to control something. The compulsion was so great he found himself desiring to rearrange a drawer. Elijah yanked it out so quickly, the entire drawer came crashing down onto the floor, scattering the socks it held.
Sliding down onto the floor, he stared at the mess. Why couldn't he just be glad he was finally away?

Atreiyu jumped at the sudden noise from the other room, his muscles were tense as he clung to the kitty and moved away from his window and walked slowly across to his room. He peeked out to the sitting room before moving to he boy's room always cautious about running to hide if needed.
Fingers touched the comforting blade within his sleeveglove as the other hand clutched onto his kitty and he looked into the other boy's room cautiously. Noticing it was just the drawer falling to the ground he bit his lip nervously as he watched the boy in silence for a moment.
"A-are you...." Atreiyu began his voice almost a whisper and hoarse from misuse, "alright?

Elijah jerked his head up quickly, stunned by the voice. The first thought that crossed his mind about the whisper was that it was inhuman - a wraith perhaps? But looking over Atreiyu's face, he found him very much human. Exhaling with relief, he relaxed to produce a nod.
Slowly, he rose to his feet, still staring at his roommate. "Are you..." his words trailed off thanks to his lack of knowledge of how to even pronounce his name.

Atreiyu shifted under the boy's gaze, he wasn't used to people staring at him and he found it unnerving. He was the one who looked away first as he tried to figure out what the boy was trying to say. Shifting his shoulders a bit to relax his muscles and stop them from quivering inside him waiting for release so he could make an escape through the roof.
This thought was enough to make him look back at the boy and introduce himself in the same quiet voice, uncertain why he went from not speaking for days to speaking to this boy more than once. Asking if he was okay was a common courtesy, but to extend a small amount of friendship by introducing himself was outside his norm to the extreme. Idly he thought somewhere in the world there must be a pig flying for he was willing to speak.
"I.. I'm your roommate," Atreiyu murmured quietly his voice in the same whisper as if speaking loudly weren't allowed. "Atreiyu.. My name is Atreiyu."
A small blush crept upon his cheeks and he looked away again clutching the kitten plushie in his hands as if it were the thing holding him on his feet for it felt as if he'd collapse from nervousness.

"A...Atreiyu..." Elijah murmured after him. This was a name he would need some getting used to.
His legs felt heavy, but he somehow managed to slide forward and extended his arm.
"My name is Elijah. It's...nice to meet you." He knew it was wrong to stare, but he found it hard to move his eyes away. The bandages, the paleness, the trembling...His mind pondered whether he was ill and wounded, and would need immediate assistance.
But his eyes picked up on the small kitten plush with almost a childish sense of excitement, and a smile emerged from his former slightly frightened face. "That's really cute."

The boy cocked a bit of a grin as he looked at him, batting some of his hair away from his face. "I dunno, there's just something about you. You didn't feel human to me." Caine replied, tugging at the bottoms of his shorts to keep them from hiking up too much more.
"A Vampire, huh? I guess it's a good thing we have separate bedroom, eh?" He was teasing, he didn't care if the guy was a vampire or not, it was all the same to him. Jat sure didn't look like he was going to eat him for lunch or anything after all.
"I'm not much special, just human. Maybe a little strange, but that's it." He turned to walk around the room a bit, stretching his arms. With his back to Jat now, the vampire would be able to see the heavy scarring on his back, going to his lower back when his pants ended, all the way up under his shirt and onto his shoulders and the back of his slender neck. He didn't care who saw anymore, or what people thought. He didn't want to hide under clothes all the time. It drove him insane. "How long have you been at this school? They said you always get the same room every year."

A flinch followed Elijah's motion towards Atreiyu who hadn't looked back at Elijah since he had looked away last. The sound of him moving and the vision of his hand extending though in his peripheral made the movement look less than friendly, but when no immediate contact came he looked hesitantly back at the boy and realized he was only reaching out to shake his hand.
A sense of small foolishness washed over him a bit as he hesitantly reached out his hand in return and gently clasped it quickly. His hand was cold to the touch and was shakey, to the eyes small scars covered his flesh some were obviously from knives and daggers, others burn marks.... When he retrieved his hand back it was almost as if he expected Elijah wouldn't let it go.
A mere nod was returned to the first remark but when Elijah mentioned the kitten Atreiyu looked down upon the plush and pet it idly. He didn't go anywhere without the kitten but normally it was tucked in his bag with only the head sticking out to look more like a decoration than a plush to hide it from peoples eyes, but he didn't care at the moment. It was helping him from getting to anxious around Elijah. No words followed Elijah's comment but it was quite obvious he was rather pleased.
"Strange isn't anything to be ashamed of," Jat replied in all seriousness his eyes following the boy around the room with much curiosity. His eyes flickered over the boy's clothes to each patch of pale skin visible a small smile tugged at his lips as he brushed his long hair back from his face. "If everyone were normal there'd be no originality and the world would be quite boring... I'd rather it not be boring, unless I get killed I'm bound to be living for centuries watching all the conflicts that are in our not so distant future."
The one thing he liked about being a vampire is that he'll always look the way he does now. It was not impossible to believe he was in love with his looks and really he looked how many books would describe vampires. Too bad they write too many of the facts wrong. He disliked though was the constant need for blood and he was jealous of the living for that, they could create their own, vampires had to scavenge for it and beg for it or they would die of dehydration and lack of blood. He also disliked the fact that he would watch everyone he knew die off and he'll be alone to create new and watch them age and die. It was a sad existence, all he looked forward to was that the future would be interesting.
Jat blinked as he seen the scars startled to the extent of how many scars the boy had. Jat was impressed though and was not disgusted by it at all. He didn't understand why many would hide their scars as some untold burden, Caine did the opposite and this is what impressed him. Jat diverted his eyes to look upon not the scars but Caine himself.
"I've attended for five years, two of those years as human," Jat replied slowly a sigh welling in his throat as he brushed away the memory of when he was turned. "But thanks to me being a vampire we're the only ones who have a fridge in our dorm room. I requested for the same room though I don't like having to remember different rooms each year. With proper funding it was allowed and I was pleased, I like my room and I had decorated it all myself."

Caine turned his head to gaze at the vampire a long moment, feeling his eyes on him. "Strange is bad where I come from. They weren't very thrilled when I was born." He looked his roommate over again. Mm, they'd indeed given him a good view. Now, he wasn't a whore, but he knew a good looker when he saw one.
"Hmm... Jat? What do you do for food in a place like this? I honestly don't see you getting away with hunting for food in a place like this." He chuckled, turning around to approach the couch all over again. He was curious about the man, as anyone would have been. Well, maybe not anyone, most probably would have run out of the room with knowledge of what Jat was.
"Mmmm, fancy. A fridge eh? People don't know what they're missing." He said with a soft laugh, resting his hands on his hips.
