Making a face at Veronica's mention, Verona walked with Ezekiel. She didn't mind how they got to the coffee shop, she just didn't want to see Veronica there.. Another person she was coming to despise.
"Are we riding there?" She asked Ezekiel, curious. "We can walk, or ride. I don't mind." Stepping through the door, Verona glanced around, seeing no one. That made her only more nervous about the whole Veronica ordeal. |
"We'll walk," Ezekiel said. "And don't worry, Veronica is much easier to handle. In fact she'll probably bow down and kiss your feet."
He loved explaining her habits. They were always peculiar. |
Shrugging Verona sort of looked down. "You know I don't want to talk to her," she said quietly.
She was still heated with what she'd done. Poor Ezekiel, was bearing his injuries even now. "I don't think I'll be able to forgive her either." |
"We'll give it time," Ezekiel said. "I just need to get her to Aldous' place because I know she's done rash things when she's felt guilty and one of them is drinking. She usually promises to quite afterwards but she feels horrid for a few days."
He was happy for the most part and he could see the street that they would turn on to get the bar near Aldous' place. |
Fingers laced with Ezekiel's, Verona sort of nodded. Eventually she was more than likely to get over it with time.
"I know, I know.." Bumping into him slightly, she smiled. "But just know I'm ready to marry you, no matter what." She was more than ready. "When are we going to set a date..?" She asked him, curious. |
"We'll just get Veronica somewhere safe and then we'll have the entire afternoon to figure out how to tell your parents about our engagement," Ezekiel said with a grin. "Then we can plan and I'm sure your mother would be thrilled to help."
He would help with the cost a lot since his family was so rich. He was so thrilled at this point that he would pay for anything just to make her happy. He'd probably wear a pink and purple tux to make her happy. |
Cringing slightly Verona shook her head. "No. She doesn't like getting involved with stuff like that."
Verona's mother was a bore, just like her father. They were so.. odd. Verona couldn't even picture her mother wanting children, much less having her. "They both probably won't do too much.." With Eric though, she was positive they would have. |
"Then that leaves it to us and I'm sure Maria will want to help. She adores planning things and she will do whatever you want her to. In fact she would probably dress up as a clown and be a brides made, then too cart wheels on the way out."
He laughed slightly at that comment before letting out a long sigh. They were almost in front of the bar now and he was anxious. He hated handling these situations and he'd have to do it alone, again. |
Laughing at the comments Ezekiel was making about Maria, she sort of seemed to float along. She was always more smiley, and happy with Ezekiel.. Well, when they weren't fighting..
"They will probably pay for some of it.. Although, they might want to help a little.. They love money." That was the only thing they loved, which was quite pathetic. |
Ezekiel just nodded as he tried to imagine his sister going down the aisle in a brides' gown. It was near impossible due to her whimsical nature but he still hoped she would meet someone she would fall in love with. He had stopped and glanced into the bar. Veronica was there and she came straight to him, sobbing for some strange reason. He looked perplexed and then figured it out.
"I'm so sorry," she said as she threw herself at his feet. "I didn't want to hurt anyone, I was just scared." |
((By the way, I'm so sorry it took so long to reply. My life is being an ass at the moment... D: )
Verona didn't look at Veronica, which to everyone watching, looked extremely rude. She had no reason to look though; she hated Veronica. She just didn't want her around in the least bit.. And Ezekiel was too forgiving towards his family.. So it was safe to say that Verona liked only half of his living family... Well, counting Sebastian, a little over half. At lest the positives outweighed the negatives. |
((It's fine... mine was too))
Ezekiel looked pissed off for a moment since they were in public. He yanked Veronica up by the arm and she whimpered slightly. He rarely treated her like this, which meant he was actually angry. He avoided it because of his father and if people knew his father they'd understand. "Your apologies are not sincere," he snapped lightly. "When you are sober I will think of accepting them but for now do not even think of speaking to me again for a while." Aldous' shop wasn't that far away and he wanted to dump her off there as soon as he could. She was being half-dragged at this point since she couldn't walk straight and was getting slightly injured in the process. |
Verona, though a bit happy about the fact that Veronica was getting hers, felt a bit sorry for her. It was obvious she was smashed, and not only that, she was getting publicly humiliated..
But nonetheless, Verona stuck her nose in the air, and followed Ezekiel obediently. She looked like a little red and white dog.. When Aldous spotted them, and set his broom against the wall, and immediately ran over, taking Veronica form Ezekiel. "How bad is it this time?" He asked simply. |
"Bad enough to publicly humiliate me," Ezekiel snapped, he rarely snapped at Aldous and it was a sign that he had been really annoyed or pushed to the edge with frustration.
He let out a low sigh before shaking his head slightly, coming to realized the actions that could later cause a disruption in his alliances. "My apologies, stressful times," he said softly. "I need to cool down a little. Shall we Verona?" |
Even with Ezekiel's bad temper, Aldous was a bit surprised. And if Aldous didn't know the Singston male tempers, no one did..
"It's fine," Aldous assured, holding the now passed out Veronica loosely. "Just be careful about how you act around here, hmm?" Nodding, Verona leaned up, and kissed Ezekiel, as if trying to calm him down a bit. "Let's go," she said softly, taking his hand back up. |
He nodded slightly when he felt Verona's hand. The kiss worked to calm him down a bit and he kissed her back gently. He smiled at her as the intensity of the anger began to cool a bit. He led her away after that looking around aimlessly for the most part but also focusing on her.
"You're an angel you know," he said gently. "You so easily calm me down it's a miracle." |
Smiling, Verona rested against Ezekiel slightly as they walked. "I know," she told him. "I'm glad I can help though.."
She really was. She would have hated to be around, and have nothing she could help him with. She could keep him calm.. "So where are we going?"She asked him. "Are we going to have coffee..? Or the bar...? I don't mind. You can pick." |
"Coffee," he said gently. "You don't want me drinking right now. I tend to drink a bit too much when I'm angry. It's almost gone though but coffee would be safer."
He was walking so that their sides were touching, making sure to match her strides, shortening them because of how short she was. He wanted to pick her up and carry her the rest of the way but decided against it in case of embarrassment. |
[I can get rid of the whole new girl thing if you want. D:]
"Coffee is nice," she said, smiling up at him. She hadn't noticed how he was walking with her, step for step.. But she did feel his side against her own. It was an amusing sight, to see the two of them like that.. And of course, given how much more crowded everything was than usual, you had your troublemakers. "Ezekieelll!" A girl with reddish brown hair squealed. She was tiny for the most part, a good deal taller than Verona; pretty. She had the deepest green eyes.. As soon as Verona spotted her, she grimaced.. She was one of the girls who'd allegedly slept with Ezekiel, and then proceeded to tell everyone about it. That included Verona. Tackling Ezekiel with a hug, the girl giggled, and then sort of side glanced at Verona. "Oh, Verona," she said bitterly. "I guess he's started going after the good girls now.. The virgins." The way that she'd said the word was disgusting.. She really was, in the short sense, a whore. "How long have you two been-" Holding up her hand, Verona smiled weakly, showing off the ring. "Well then," Mara said, releasing Ezekiel. "I guess you aren't a virgin anymore, hmm?" |
((It's actually quite logical XD))
It was her the one girl that he truly regretted sleeping with. She was annoying in his opinion and now that she was jumping on him he held a stoic expression as he ignored her as much as he could. For the most par the looked disgusted. "I really would prefer to not be tackled by whores of you nature," he said bluntly, not watching is language because of the beginning public humiliation. "You should know the Singston temper by now." He was more than glad that he'd gotten that ring by now. He felt a sharp pain in the area where he'd been attacked as soon as he'd been released. It groaned slightly before clutching his side. That just made it worse and now he just wanted a drink. "Verona," he whispered. "Can we get out of here please? I really don't want to start acting like my dad." |
[Kay, good. XD]
Mara was a bit angered. And as soon as the word whore slipped out... "Excuse me?" She snarled at him. "If I remember correctly, YOU were the one who was coming onto me." Laughing slightly, she batted Verona's hair, causing Verona to jump slightly. "I won't lie though, you weren't very good." Making a face, Verona looked almost.. angry. "It doesn't matter anyway," Mara continued. "I suppose you're good enough for her." Now that was an insult. "Go home Mara," Verona snapped at her. "Or what..? You'll cry? Boo-hoo!" Mara had a bad attitude, didn't she. She was indeed, loud and obnoxious. And as of now, she was attracting a lot of attention. From whence came a few familiar faces.. Her face more pink than usual, Verona glared up at the laughing Mara. Hysterically laughing Mara. Suddenly, and very unexpectedly, Verona hit onto her tiptoes, and punched Mara smack dab in the nose! Mara flew slightly upward, and screeched as she grabbed her nose; everyone in the area had either been gasping, or laughing. It was a hilarious sight, to see someone as short as Verona, punch upward, and knock a girl in the nose. "Dammmmn!" A familiar voice called, suddenly scooping Verona away from Mara, before she could do anymore damage. A tan, lanky man with brown hair, was chuckling as Verona wiggled and squirmed, trying to get back to Mara. "Calm down," he snorted between laughs. Looking to the bewildered Ezekiel, he laughed, and held out a hand, while the other arm wrestled Verona. "I'm Jace," he said lightly. "Verona's wilder half. Although right now, I don't think that's possible." Poor Mara, was wailing about her nose, as people laughed, and cheered. Only a few people asked her if she was okay.. So much for not causing a scene. |
He wasn't any good? She should have taken a taste of her own medicine. She was so horrible he'd only slept with her once but he'd stayed acquaintances longer in case he just need a little bit of a fix for a while. He shuddered slightly as he tried to keep his cool. He wanted to punch the girl but he couldn't, when Verona did he started laughing.
"And how exactly are you connected to her, Jace?" Ezekiel asked bitterly, it wasn't improving his mood that someone else was touching his fiancee, the second person that he'd ever loved in his life time. His jealousy shown brightly in his eyes and he wanted to lunge at the guy but he didn't. Oh such a cruel world... now the only thing he needed to make the day worse was having Mara sneak up on him again, though after Verona's actions it might not be that good of an idea. |
Verona seemed to be more focused on killing Mara, more than anything. And the noises she was making, were quiet interesting..
"Let me go!"She screamed. Jace soon moved back to hold to holding the now jumping Verona around the waist. "Meh," he said, sounding unamused. Like Verona attacked people every day, no. "We go way back," he said simply, a clump of his short hair, being caught in one of Verona's hands. In the short, he was used to her outbursts. "Oww! Let go!" He hollered. Jace looked young for his age, which was also twenty. He also had bright green eyes, that seemed to sparkle with an odd sort of playfulness. His hair was shaggy, and short, fuzzy looking. He had big hands, and long limbs. Jace towered over most people. He'd dated Verona briefly.. "Put me down Jace, put me down! I will rip the hair from you head so help me!" Verona and Jace had agreed, after their brief little flingish thing, to only be friends. They were very much opposites, except for the fact that they were both quite kind. Pulling on Jace's hair more, Verona flailed. "Dammit that hurts!" He cried out, still holding her in mid-air. It was actually kind of funny.. Jace at the moment, was the tallest person of the three. |
It was getting to be too much for Ezekiel and he was getting stressed out. He was fiddling with the ends of his sleeves and now he could tell that Mara was laughing at him. The noise was getting to him as it usually did when he grew angry. he tried to concentrate but it was failing.
"Will you people all just shut up?" he yelled, on the verge of snapping, he just wanted to go out for a cup of coffee with Verona and there people had to go and ruin it. Then there was Jace, he hated it when people were taller than him because it always put him at a disadvantage. He finally just sat down stubbornly on the ground and covered his ears with his hands. The only way to avoid truly snapping was to start acting like a kid. The danger was people telling him to start acting like an adult and take the situation by the horns. |
Ceasing immediately, everyone stared at Ezekiel, including Verona and Jace. And instead of being difficult, Jace let Verona down, onto her feet.
"Ezekiel," she whispered, sitting down in front of him. Lifting his chin, she pulled one of Ezekiel's hands off of his ears. At this point, a lot of people were waiting for Verona to be hit or something. Even Mara had stopped her noise, and was intently watching. Kissing Ezekiel lightly, Verona closed her eyes, and wrapped her arms around him. Jace sort of looked down, like he was forbidden to watch, and turned pink. Everyone else was gasping. There was the beautiful Verona Byers, kissing some monster, who'd just yelled at everyone. Jace looked up, and then quickly back down again; she was still kissing him... gross. Jace was to be honest, the closest Verona had ever come to love. In fact, Jace had already declared he loved her, before she had told him that she loved him.. Though, she said it, only because he had.. It was needless to say, the wounds still stung.. |
