"You lost, Hun?" a nurse asked, noticing how lost the boy seemed to be. "You looking for somewhere in particular?"

Hideto looked up, not sure whether to feel relieved or frightened.

"Ye...yes, I...I'm looking for Dr. Cozu," Hideto replied, struggling to hide his panic, but failing. "Do you know where he is?"

Besnik has been flying aimlessly around, invisible. He was investigating how Humans lived... And how they communicated with each other. He was still curious about the reapers though and still had not met one, but The Elders told him specifically, "If you ever wish to find a Reaper, the Hospitals are the best place." So he landed on the ground and changed his form so that Humans could not see his wings, and than he walked towards the nearest hospital in hopes to meet a Reaper.

Unfortunately, the little while Besnik had been on Earth he still had not met Lily...

"You know that his shift ended about ten minutes ago, right?" she asked, a concerned expression on her face. She bit her lip a little as she considered what action to take.

"Here..." she said, reaching over the desk at the nurse's station and picking up the phone. She pulled out a card and dialed the number on it.

Cellphone ringing once again, Andrew lifted it to his ear. "Yes? ...I see. I'm in Brodie Fisher's room, waiting with him for his parents to finish with his release forms. Right. Bye." He hung the phone up and put it back in his pocket, leaning his head back again and letting his eyes closed.

"Can't catch a break today, can I?" he asked with a soft chuckle. "Ah, but what is it they say? A busy body never grows old?"

The nurse hung up the phone and turned to look at the panicked youth. "He's in room three hundred sixty four. Do you need help finding it?" she asked politely.

Hideto looked around the room numbers...if he were a little less panicked, he might be able to figure out where he was going, but as it stood...yes, he did need some help.

"Yeah...yeah, I think I do need some help," he said, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

"Alright," she said with a smile and a nod. "This way then." She lead him to an elevator and pressed the button to go down, after all, they were two floors above their destination. "Would you like me to show you personally, or do you think you can find it if I tell you where it is?

"Just tell me which way...I think I can find it," Hideto sighed, deeply embarrassed by being so lost. He felt quite uneasy about going into the elevator, under the circumstances...but it was better than the stairs. "Thank you..." he added, struggling to hide the faint trembling in his voice.

"Aright. Take this elevator down to the third floor, then take a right. Follow that hallway all the way down then turn left. Keep your eyes on the room numbers, you should see it. Think you can find it okay?"

"Yes...I think so. Thank you," Hideto replied, nervously stepping into the elevator. As the door closed, he pressed the button with the number 3 on it, his hand shaking slightly as he felt the elevator start to move. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, struggling to clear his mind...next thing he knew, the doors were opening on the third floor. He stepped out of the elevator and began looking around him. She'd said to go right first...right?

The numbers on the signs looked right, so that was a good sign. He started heading down the hallway, breaking into a run about halfway down. He turned left, and began slowing down as he noticed the numbers were getting closer to the right one.

After what felt like an hour, though it couldn't have been more than a minute or so, he found himself staring at the number 364. Raising a shaking hand, he knocked on the door, trying to figure out what to say...or why exactly he was down here in the first place.

"Enter," he called from his seat in the room. He felt too tired to actually get up and answer the door. The sooner he got home and rested, the better.

Brodie looked up at Cozu's comment about 'earning it,' and was about to say something along the lines of, 'like you do?' when a knock at the door came. Darn, he didn't feel like he'd had very many answers so far. At least, not as many as he would've liked, and it seemed his parents were already here for him. Still, he reminded himself, I've got his card so I'm sure I can contact him if I really need something. He gave the little card in his hand a slight squeeze as he watched the door, sure that his father would walk through in a second.

Hideto opened the door, still shaking slightly. He was greatly relieved to see Andrew...and rather shocked to see Brodie. He hadn't really known his name before...so he WAS the same "Fisher" from earlier. Well, it made sense that Andrew would be here anyway...at least as much sense as anything else that had happened today.

"I...I'm sorry, I just...had to come find you...I think there's another...out there..." he said to Andrew, not wanting to say "reaper" when he wasn't sure if Brodie knew everything or not...and not really remembering the word anyway.

"Shozii sent you," he said with a sigh. "So they're going after white names now... Damn. This won't end well." He opened his eyes and lifted his head again. "Brodie, meet Hideto. He saved your life today," he said, slowly rising from his seat.

'Looks like I won't get home today... And I was hoping for some sleep before my next shift,' he thought.

Hideto laughed softly, deeply embarrassed. "More like 'almost doomed us both', but..." He tried to keep his mind off the...less tan pleasant aspect of the conversation, but it wasn't working too well. It was bad enough that he almost certainly wasn't going to live to adulthood, according to the situation...now there were other reapers going after him because he hadn't died on schedule? And given the fact that Andrew was here, and the way he spoke in front of Brodie...it was obvious he wasn't the only one in trouble.

"What should I do?" he asked, his voice beginning to tremble slightly.

"Stay close to me, I guess," he said with a tired sigh. "Though I really do need to get home and rest soon. I have another shift in six hours."

He reached up and rubbed his left temple a bit. "Doubt you really want to hang around an old man like me for that long, though."

((Well, since everyone vanished and I'm really sick, I'm going to go to bed now.))

She growled at him again in return, "I hardly think you will cause me much pain if thats what your after" she said coldly. Keeping the same cold manner she had started with though there was something different this time, something more like excitement and zell at the thought of an adversary whom, if of course he was no lyeing to her which undoubtibly he was, at least in her mind he was. "though your situation does intrigue me"

She watched as the boy was directed to leave and yet she did not try and stop him. A reaper who saves a life, even if for a friend is her enemy indeed. She could always drive deaths path again in the future as well. No...the bigger threat to her right now was this odd reaper.

She wispered something in an ancient language long since forgotten, "azul no koyem," She looked up at him but said nothing her mind simply debating weither here and now was the correct place to cause a scene. She started to talk again but merely to keep his attention away from her hands which where slowly creeping towards the knife she kept with her at all times in case she needed to take a life that was not yet dead. She knew she could not use it on a reaper, wouldn't do much good anyways. Didn't stop her from wanting it at a moments grab.


((Sorry this took me so long *sweat* fridays for me generally mean I dont get on until much much later. Oh and the language is just non-sence that I made up....xP it has no literal translation. It means something about silence though to her. If he's been around longer then her he probably knows it too though. I meant it to be a language looong looong forgotten. Sort of to give a sence that shes been at this a long time. ))

"I'll do my best not to cause any trouble..." Hideto said, when a phrase registered that struck him as...rather interesting. Of course, thinking about it, it made sense that this man might not look his age...but he didn't really seem like an "old man" in any way.

"And...you don't seem that old to me..."

((I think it's BS, because you make her seem all modern though then you go around and make her know "Old languages". Anyways, Shozii and Andrew have been at their jobs since before the pyramids were built. And undoubtedly now that I've said that you'll immediately make your character older than them. That seems to be your game.

Shozii and Andrew have been around since about the beginning of time. When they were young, people didn't die. Shozii was the first, "Reaper."))

"Your weapon won't work on me. I can't be killed by a weak little reaper like you," he said, rolling his eyes as he turned his back on her. He made his way down the stairs, not really caring what she planned on doing. Naturally, she was going to reap souls from this hospital. He'd have to mark this territory as his own...

"Go to the hospital across town. This one is mine. You have no right here. If I see you here again, you'll regret it." He continued on his way down the stairs, putting his hands in his pocket as he walked, making his way to the third floor.

"Ah. I'm much older than I look," he said with a soft chuckle. He turned his attention to Brodie. "I'm sorry, but I need to get some rest. Your parents should be here soon. I'm sorry, but I can't wait with you any longer if I'm to get home without falling asleep while driving."

((Its mentioned in my profile that shes been at this a looong time. I'm not trying to make her older then you, wasnt my intent. Simply to let it be known that shes not a newbie at this either. I wanted to put them on even footing. She seems modern cause she tends to keep up with the times. She has however been at it for awhile. I dont mean that to be offending....for the record yours appear fairly modern at the moment as well....doesn't that come with working in the modern times? I never said she was new at this at any time....that was never my intent....nor was it my intent to make her seem older then you.....in fact I knew you where still older then her. Death came before she did (obviously) but shes old.....hmmm....I'm sorry if you think its BS....but it had been my intent from the start to make her old....it had nothing to do with your characters being old. Once again I am sorry, I dont really think my character is unfair or anything, her magics are strong but there used as battle aids rather then attack so I really dont feel shes stronger then everyone, merely just more knowledgeable then most. One last point then I'll stop I promise, just because a language is ancient and forgotten does't mean she lived before the pyramids or any time like that...ancient languages could be learned...or else it could be from a defeated race. She is old though...Been around since before the dark ages but not too too far before that...he he back when reaping was plentiful xP))

"I regret nothing" she said and although he was much farther from her now she knew he had heard nothing. Her job was to collect the souls of those saved during the last few days and nothing was going to stop her. Was a pity though that he had not tried to attack her, she would have like a nice scene. She however felt that they would meet again, something told her this wouldn't be the last time. After all if he was intent on saving him then there would be war. She never backed down from a job, not ever.

She figured she had better leave it alone for now though. After all, surely not all of them where in this hospital. She waited a few moments to make sure he was completely out of sight and then followed his suit. She was curious to meet this friend who he was so keen to ignore his duty in order to save lifes. She frowned, he was clearly an old reaper, maybe even older then her, wasn't very often she met one of those.

"I said get out of here," he called up the stairs as he continued walking, a dangerous tone in his voice. "This is my reaping ground. I've marked it as my own decades ago. Respect that and leave."

Misa growled under her breath but did not say anything in return. She was already leaveing the place. After all the two being saved couldn't possibly live in the hospital forever. The one she had almost bumped into had seemed healthy enough. She sighed and walked outside into the warm sunlight. She looked up at the sky. Life was so much differnet then it used to be....she used to be so lively and free....death around every door. Now...she was getting thrown out of one simple hospital...was this what the rest of her existance would entail...?

Brodie looked from Hideto to Cozu, he was surprised to find that he'd forgotten there was another person on the road. Though he wasn't aware of much in the seconds before the car was about to hit, he did feel himself being pushed somewhat away from it. He was slightly surprised that a complete stranger would 'doom' himself trying to save some one else. But then...Hideto, it did sound slightly familiar, and he would remember an unusual name like that. Hadn't Terry said something about a Hideto from school?

"Ah, that's alright," the doctor's comment snapped Brodie out of his thoughts, "I'll be fine for a few minutes until they get here." Meanwhile, maybe he could figure out how he knew Hideto.

After making his way to the third floor, he knocked softly on room three hundred sixty four.

Andrew looked up and over at the door, a soft smile on his lips. 'So he's on my side about this.'

He went to the door and opened it, looking upon the face of Shozii. "Watch him while he waits for his parents."

"Planning on it," he replied, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his keys. He separated his car keys from the rest and handed them to Andrew. "Next time, don't walk here."

"Thanks," he said with a slight nod. He motioned for Hideto to follow him as he stepped out into the hall.

"Eh." He pushed past Andrew and stepped into the hospital room, ushering Hideto out into the hall and closing the door behind him. "I've come to make sure you make it home safely," he told the boy, though his voice made it clear he wasn't exactly happy with being there.

Brodie looked up, another person came in who wasn't one of his parents. He was a rather strange looking person at that, [I]Contacts]/I], he thought, They must be contacts...no one's eyes are naturally that color. He though that he was seeing things until Cozu acknowledged the cloaked figure as well.

He watched as Hideto was shown out, he'd have to find the boy some time later. Right now he was alone, with...."Um, and you are...?" In all honesty, he would've been terrified of being alone with whoever this was had Cozu not shown trust in him. Though, it didn't help too much.
