Josh ran his hand through his hair as he looked at Kalli, not wanting to say anything until she had spoken. Unfortunately, Kalli was still silent and sat on a desk simply looking down at her lap. Sighing helplessly, Josh sat beside Kalli, "Look Kal, I-"

Kalli raised her hand to stop him. Lowering her hand, she continued to look down at her lap in silence, trying to form the words she wished to tell him.

Putting his feet on the chair in front of him, he propped his elbows on his knees and slipped his hands through his hair, leaning his head into his hands.

A tear rolled down Kalli's cheek as she looked at him, "I.. I know I'm not good enough.. and.. I know you prefer Anna.. I.. I just want you to know that I'm happy you've finally found someone worthy of you.. I don't want to hold you back if you've found someone who's right for you.."

Josh sighed, "What are you saying Kal... you want to break up?"

Kalli nodded, "Anna will be better for you.. I've always known I haven't been good enough for you... Now you have someone who is.. Anna's a great girl, you two will be happy together.. I just hope Liam will be alright.."

Josh looked at Kalli, and noticing her serious look, let a smile creep across his face as he forced himself not to laugh, "Anna? You think... I'm in love with Anna? Kalli, you can't be serious! I love you and I always will. Whether you like it or not, you're stuck with me."

Kalli looked back down at her lap, "It's not funny to joke of such things.. you really should be more serious.."

Josh took Kalli's hand in his and turned her face gently towards his and smiled at her, "I'm not. I love you Kalli Anne St. Pier, and that will never change for as long as I live."

"But you gave Anna a gift and she told you you were an excellent boyfriend! Obviously you two have something going on Josh.."

Josh laughed and wiped the tears from Kalli's eyes, "Hardly. I was asking her her opinion on a gift for you. It was to be our four year anniversary present.."

"I don't believe you," Kalli stated simply.

"After all these years of knowing me, you don't believe me?!"

"Not when many reliable witnesses have told me how you two were all over each other," she said as she pulled away from him.

Not much further, Anna was pulling Fynn along by the wrist. "So what is so urgent?" A bit annoyed by being pulled along, the Gryffindor prefect stops her in her tracks and forces her to a halt. "I heard you and Josh were seeing eachother."

Blinking, Anna does stop, arching an eyebrow. "Is this to warn me about Joshs' unsavory past or so?" She doesn't even get the chance to offer a snide remark about him being a superficial ass, since Fynn immediatly shakes his head while blurting out, "NO! That whole group - it's why I don't want you with them - they meddle in the Dark Arts!"
It takes a moment for Anna to realize what he's talking about, but when she does, she bursts out laughing.

In horror, Fynn eyes her. "Don't tell me you're into it too?" Still laughing, Anna shakes her head, clutching her sides as she chokes out, "Idiot!"

Josh jumped up off the desk and put his hands on the desk, one on each side of Kalli and stared her in the face, "Reliable witnesses? Since when are Lucinda and Shiera reliable witnesses?!"

"I didn't hear it from them Josh! And even if I had, I would still believe them!"

"Over me?!"

"Yes! Over you Josh! Anna is perfect. She always knows what to say. She's smart, she's funny, she's-"

"Not you!" Josh interupted fiercely as he pushed himself away from the desk and took out the box, holding it out to her, "She's not you and she never will be. And no matter what you say, I will love you until my last breath, Kalli St. Pier, and nothing will change that. Now, if you're simply pushing me away because you don't love me anymore, than just say it and don't play this stupid game with me." Sighing and holding the box closer to her, "But if you do still love me, then take this and read the inscription before opening what's inside."

Kalli looked at him, and then at the box that Josh and shown Anna the previous evening, hesitating on what to do.

With Anna still laughing at him, it was no wonder that Fynn was starting to get more than slightly annoyed. "I'll gladly hear what kind of an idiot I am once you stop laughing!" He fumed, arms angrily crossed over his chest. Not stopping right away, Anna was still giggling - with the occasional snort in between - as she explained, "You're an idiot because it's not like that! It's not because someone is interesed in the Dark Arts, that they're practicing."

Smiling kindly at him - almost motherly, even - Anna shook her head, reaching over and lightly gripping his arm to try and be comforting, though it only managed to cause the frown on his forehead to deepen. "How can you fight something when you know nothing about it? I think it's more something like that, you know." She shook her head, her brown mane shaking from side to side as she pulled back her hand. "You're such an idiot. You guys stopped being friends because of that?!"

Fynn hesitated, his glare softening to a steady gaze as he shrugged. "No... it was just... something stupid I did. So... I don't have to worry about you?" This caused the Belgian girl to grin, her nose wiggling in her amusement. "Of course not! Honestly - why did you think that in the first place? Can't we be friends?" Again, he hesitated, a shy smile appearing on his face after a moment. "Yeah - alright."

Kalli, hearing the ruckous of Anna's giggling and Fynn's lecture, looked towards the door as Josh sighed, stuffing the box back into his pocket, "So that's it huh.." he mumbled, completely at a loss. He had tried everything to win the girl he loved back, but unfortunately she would not listen. Little did he know that she had just been startled, and wasn't rejecting him.

Kalli shook her head, "No-o-o. Josh, listen, you deserve better than me. Anna is that. I don't want to get in the way."

"KALLI!" Josh shouted angrily, loud enough to be heard from where Anna was standing with Fynn, "For the LAST time. ANNA IS WITH LIAM! She is NOT with ME! You want PROOF?! I'LL GO GET HIM!"

Kalli, a bit taken aback by Josh's shouting, noticed the box had slipped out of his pocket and landed on the desk in front of her. Picking it up, she eyed it curiously before looking to Josh.

"May I?"

"Of course, it's yours isn't it?"

Slowly, Kalli opened the box and lifted the locket. Upon reading the inscription she hopped off the desk and into Josh's arms, wrapping her legs around his waist and, flinging her arms around his neck, smiled and looked into his eyes, "You really mean it?"

"Why else would I have engraved it?" he said softly as he kissed her lips gently while wrapping his arms around her, folding his hands under her bottom, "Now will you open the locket all ready?"

Leaning back a bit, having full trust in Josh to hold her up, she brought the locket in front of her and slowly opened it, releasing a light yellow and green monarch butterfly into the air to fly around before disappearing into a nearby bookcase.

Kalli giggled with glee, "That was beautiful!"

Josh smiled, "I knew you would like it. It's a charm that's on the locket, it'll do it every time you open it. However, the butterfly changes species and colors. It also changes it's shape into other animals or simply just mist."

Smiling Kalli closed the locket and slipped it around her neck. Smiling, she cupped Josh's face with her right hand as her left hand slipped around his head, "I love it, almost as much as I love the person who gave it to me." Closing her eyes, she tenderly kissed Josh.

While they were kissing, Josh's hand move up her back and cupped the back of her head, pulling her closer to him as he leaned against the wall a few inches behind him.

Peering through a small crack in the door, Anna blushed lightly at their intimacy, closing the door again with a content sigh. "I'm sad he had to give it to her now, but I'm glad they're still together." She'd hadly paid attention to Fynn, and instead, had immediatly peered in at the sound of Josh shouting that she was with Liam. It had caused her to blush and duck her head shyly, and then curiously peek in.

Still standing where she'd left him, Anna turned around to face Fynn, a relieved little smile on her face. "Ah well, best leave them to it, no?" Quietly, she guided him away, making sure to not say anything that might startle the couple and reveal her own presence.

After turning a corner, Fynn halted her, his voice thick as he asked, "You're with Liam?" Shrugging lightly, Anna blushed again, feeling kind of strange to have a boyfriend for the first time in her life. "Yeah, sorta..." With her hand on the back of her head, she grinned at him, trying her best to not pay attention to the blood rushing to her head. "Why, you don't approve?" For a moment, Anna though he'd actually do something as silly as pushing her against a wall and kiss her - but instead, a shy grin appeared on his handsome face as he shook his head. "Nah... Liam's a good guy. I approve."

The sly glance he gave her caused Anna to burst out in giggles again, choking out, "What are you, my father?" Laughing cheerfully together, they both started to walk in the direction of the great hall, eager to get breakfast done with.

As the group chatted during breakfast, Saiyuri wrapped her right arm though Drew's left arm and looked up at him, a smile creeping onto her face. Drew laughed and kissed her forehead before asking, "And what exactly does that look mean?"

"Nothing really, I just want to go see a movie," said Saiyuri non-chalant like as she stole a piece of Drew's toast and took a bite.

"A movie? What on earth for?"

"What else silly? To spend more time with you of course!"

"But why a movie? You know very well there's no theater in Hogsmeade, and there's no way we can get to a muggle theater now is there."

Saiyuri sighed and sulked as she silently ate her toast, removing her arm from around Drew's and proping her head up with it on the table.

Leane laughed as she ruffled Saiyuri's hair and gave her a wink, "You could always use the Room of Requirement you know."

Saiyuri, still sulking, disregaurded the comment with a shrug, "I had thought of that, but Drew doesn't want to."

Leane laughed, "Very well then, we'll all simply go to the movies and we'll just drag Drew along, how's that?"

Again, Saiyuri simply shrugged.

Drew laughed, "If it means that much, we'll go."

Smiling, Saiyuri sat up and downed the last of the toast before stealing a piece of bacon from Drew's plate.

Liam laughed, "Yer goin' to be doin' that all year aren't you."

Looking innocently at him she tilted her head and smiled, "Why, whatever do you mean Liam-kun?"

"Ye know what I mean."

"You mean taking Drew's food? Of course! I have to mooch of someone don't I?"

"Ye could get yer own plate couldn' ye?"

"Nope!"

Liam and Leane both laughed while Drew rolled his eyes and put his arm around Saiyuri's waist, pulling her towards him, "I don't mind her taking my food, as long as she eats."

Beaming, Saiyuri stuck her tongue out at Liam and Leane and giggled as she finished her bacon and grabbed another piece of toast, "At least I'm not taking your food again this year Leane!"

"True. The horrible thing is, I'm so used to you doing it, I end up getting to much and only being able to eat half of what I get!"

The group laughed at Leane's statement. Saiyuri looked around the great all and realized four people were missing - Anna, Fynn, Josh, and Kalli, "Where do you think Anna, Fynn, Josh, and Kalli are?"

Leane sighed, "Anna's probably getting a lecture from Fynn. Either that, or he's followed her on her search for Josh and Kalli. I just hope everything's okay."

"You and me both Lee-chan.." said Saiyuri in a soft tone, wondering if Kalli and Josh had made up or if they broke up, "Be sure to send Aniela after me to let me know how Josh is in the common room, I have a feeling we won't be seeing either all day.." Which just happened to be the case, for Josh and Kalli stayed in that classroom and weren't seen until late that evening when they shuffled into their respective common rooms.

Quite cheerfully, Anna came walking into the great hall, Fynn in tow. Both looked quite at ease, though it didn't take Fynn long to recognize the small group of people as Anna's friends, and with a word to the brunette, he stalked off.

All but skipping over to the table, Anna couldn't resist grinning broadly at her breakfast mates, tapping her bright orange cap as she said, "Top o' the mornin', to ya!"

Leane, noticing Fynn stalking off, scowled, "Why do you hang with that man."

"Lee-chan.. we talked about this," said Saiyuri gently. Turning to Anna she smiled, "Good morning Anna, have you seen Josh and Kalli? I'm dreadfully worried about them!"

Drew nodded a greeting to Anna as he continued to eat his breakfast.

Liam smiled at Anna, "Mornin' love, sleep well?"

Liam calling her 'love' caused a warm glow to rise in her cheeks, and she smiled broadly at him, though her shyness was obvious. "Yup, just wonderful!" Unknown to the rest, a small butterfly had flapped its wings in Anna's stomach, which was causing her to avoid his gaze after the broad smile she'd given him.

Slipping across from Drew at the table, she reached over to his plate to steal a piece of toast, completely oblivious that Saiyuri had done the same thing just a moment before. "And I wouldn't worry 'bout our lovely couple, 'Yuri." Taking a large bite out of the toast - after lathering it with marmelade - she continued, "I saw them making up in an abandoned classroom. They're peachy." Taking another bite, she munched happily before reaching to get another piece of toast from a basket this time - being a vegetarian, she neatly stayed away from the bacon.

"I woke up earlier to try and patch things up, ya know," she grinned lightly, aimed mostly at Saiyuri as she added, "Or maybe put some more spine in Kalli. But on the way over I ended up running into Fynn, who..." her voice lowered lightly as she looked at Leane from the corner of her eye, almost threateningly, "... is not such a bad guy, so you might want to stop talking about things you don't know, Leane. Everyone does stupid things when they're younger and jealous. You might want to consider forgiving him." Pointedly, she took another bite out of her toast, seeming like nothing was wrong.

Liam just laughed as Drew held up his plate and inquired with a laugh, "Anyone else want to steal from my plate before I eat?"

Grabbing a piece of bacon, Saiyuri laughed and kissed Drew's cheek.

Leane rolled her eyes and stood up from the table and began to storm off. After a few steps, she slightly turned her head, a small tear apparent in her eyes, "I know more than you think. You don't know anything Anna, so stay out of it." With that, she stormed off towards the Potions Room, where she could count on being alone.

Saiyuri sighed, "You really shouldn't have been so harsh on her Anna-chan. But I'm very glad to hear Kalli and Josh made up. As for 'making up in the abandoned classroom', what exactly does that mean? Did they seem like they were talking it out and she was listening to him?"

"Seeing as how they were making out, I'd think so," the brunette stated absentmindedly, looking at Leane as she dashed off. Dropping her piece of toast - after not even having finished a whole piece - she rises from the table again, not even bothering to take her hat or bookbag, and instead, dashing after Leane with a hurried, "Excuse me."

Smiling, Saiyuri nodded, understanding where Anna was going, and turned to Liam and Drew, "Well, at least we know Kal and Josh are alright and making up."

Little did the group know, the couple did much more than just make up.

Leane, noticing Anna following her, stopped abruptly and turned around, a hateful glare covering her face. "What do you want Anna," she inquired through gritted teeth.

"To apologize," Anna stated simply, her face serious though there was genuine regret in her eyes. "I didn't mean to say it so bluntly. I just... people do stupid things. Sometimes it's worth forgiving them."

With a laugh, Leane rolled her eyes and mimicked, "To apologize - That's priceless. You want to know what happened, ask your little friend Fynn. He'll love to tell you. So until you know the story, don't bother apologizing or getting into it, got it?"

Turning on her heels she marched off in the direction of the Potions room, her long raven hair flowing behind her with their highlights giving it the look of waves in a stream.

Stubborn as only Anna could be, she continued following, calling out - quite loudly - "Don't be a bitch!" A couple of heads turned, but Anna waited to continue until she'd caught up with Leane again. "I know it's something having to do with Josh, and I know it hurt you all a lot... but can't you at least be civil to peope?! What the hell is wrong with you?"

At the sound of being called a bitch, Leane turned around and slapped Anna quite hard across the face. "You think this has to do with Josh?! Ha! That's only half of it. So unless you want to get hurt, back off Anastasia Van Orsenhoven," Leane spat out as she pulled out her wand and held it under Anna's chin.

"I don't mind getting hurt when it might teach people I care about a lesson," Anna stated curtly through closed teeth. Her cheek was stinging pretty bad - and her hand itching to return the assault - but she knew now wasn't the time. "So I'm not backing off." She frowned, her eyes narrowing lightly behind her glasses as she considers grabbing her wand - but deciding against it.

"If you don't explain it to me, I won't know. And I think you're being quite a bit overly dramatic, Leane." This said with her finger lightly tapping her cheek, then tapping the wand pressed against her chin.

Leane sighed and lowered her wand, sticking it back into her skirt. "Just don't worry about it Anna. I'm not going to explain it to you, figure it out on your own if you want to know that badly. But if you think I'm telling you one of my deepest secrets, you're mistaken."

Running her hand through her long hair, she turned around once more and, at a quick run, went into the Potions room two hallways away, leaving Anna standing in the Hallway with many students, having stopped in hopes of seeing a duel, staring blankly at her.

Crossing her arms over her chest, Anna just stood there, watching Leane for a bit. She really wasn't intend on finding it out - wanting Leane to come out and tell her, herself - but her curiosity was rising quite a lot. With a light sigh, and pointedly ignoring the group of students, she turns on her heels and heads on back to the Great hall, biting her lower lip as she thinks, and not looking up from the floor even when she walks into the hall.

Saiyuri sighed as she noticed Anna, "Oh dear.. Leane's really done it now.. Do you think she'll be alright?"

Liam, noticing Anna's cheek, rolled his eyes and scoweled, "I dunno, but when I find Lee, imma kill 'er. Look a' what she did ta Anna!"

Both noticing the red-handprint on her cheek, they sighed.

"Think she used her wand?" asked Drew.

"I don't think so, there wouldn't be much left of her if she did.." said Saiyuri, "Think Anna knows the story?"

"About how Fynn turned his back on 'er 'n Josh 'cause they were Slythies and Josh was an orphan? Prob'ly."

"What about the rest?" insisted Saiyuri.

Sighing, Liam spoke softly, not knowing Anna was now in hearing distance, "Ye mean about Leane and Fynn? I don't think so. None of us has told 'er, and I highly doubt Fynn would mention it. I honestly don't even think Fynn knows 'imself."

Blinking lightly as she overhears Liam, a light gait comes back to her step, and she smiles brightly at the group. "Something about Fynn fancying Leane or something? Or at least, that's my guess."

Cheerfully she sits down after blushingly pecking Liams' cheek. "Man, I'm starving! I hope I can eat some more before I need to hurry to class."

Saiyuri shook her head, "We don't know what fully happened. All we know is that when Fynn started shunning her, she became who she is now, a bit goth-like, over-protective of our hearts, etc."

"All we can assume is she had it bad for Fynn," added Drew.

"And we assume he 'ad it bad fer her until she became a Slythie," added Liam as he handed a plate of fruit and toast with Marmalade to Anna, "Ye'd have to ask Fynn 'bout it, he'll know more pob'ly seeing as how he caused it."

"Fynn does strike me as that kind of idiot," the brunette states dryly, accepting the plate with a grateful smile and gentle blush. "Thanks." As she takes a bite out of her toast, she thinks it over for a while. "I just assumed Fynn had a cursh on one of you girls - my logical deduction was Leane. I didn't think it was true, though."

After another bite and a moment of silence, she adds, "I'm not gonna ask him, though. Just gotta wear her defences down. She's gonna dislike me for a long time, I'm afraid, though." With a look at Drew, Liam and lingering on Saiyuri, she asks, "If you'd rather I don't and do my best to keep the peace, I won't, though."

Saiyuri bit her lower lip, "Anna, I don't think it's such a good idea. She won't even tell me, her closest friend. I'm afraid that if you try to get it out of her without more understanding of the situation, she'll end up hurting you dearly. She's capable of very strong magic and isn't afraid to use it on Hogwarts Grounds."

"She's right, Lee can't control her magic very well when she's furious. The only reason Sai hasn't asked Fynn, is because she's afraid he despises her for hanging out with Leane and Josh like she does," said Drew softly.

"Ye see, 'cause we all hang with Lee and Josh, Fynn doesn't associate with any of us. Kal he don't mind too much, although he is a bit harsh on 'er, always making fun o' her mistakes and the like. He's starting to despise her more 'n more though I've noticed, 'cause she's still datin' Josh. He tends to blame it on her stupidity of being a Huffie though," added Liam.

Saiyuri, who had been thinking while Liam and Drew were talking to Anna, stood up from the table, "There's something I have to do. I'll see you all at class okay?" Letting out a sigh to steady her nerves, Saiyuri walked over to the Gryffindor table and grabbed Fynn's arm. Pulling him out of the Great Hall, she headed towards the abandoned classroom two floors up.
