Rolling her eyes at Drew, Anna shoved Kane away, putting her wand to action as she yelled, "Expelliarmus!" Kane, dazed and confused, was blown off of his socks. Entirely at ease, she walked up to him, saying "Incarcerous", and having him bound tightly by the ropes that were coming out of her wand. Bending down, she picked up Kanes' wand, putting it down at a safe distance.
When that was done, she turned to Drew, slight frown on her face as she put her hands on her hips. "You sure are quick to judge people, Drew." Shuddering, she whiped her hand over her lips in disgust, "God, that was my frist kiss." Angrily, she kicked at Kane's feet, "You jerk, you weren't supposed to actually kiss me." |
Drew, a bit dazed himself, watched Anna in amazement, "You... I'm....I'm so sorry Anna..."
Kane, glared at Anna, "Drew can have you, you dezietful girl. You truzy are adoribal even when you are angry and dizguzted," he added with a smirk. Drew rolled his eyes, "Kane, Tuh'd oui ajan keja ib? Hu uha femm mega oui ev oui gaab yldehk mega drec. "Oui'na celg, oui ghuf dryd? E lyh caa fro ran vydran pnuga dra padnudrym," Drew stated as he pointed his wand at Kane and muttered the enchated sleep charm. Kane soon nodded off just as footsteps came racing down the hallway. Drew looked to the door just as the door opened. |
"Finally!" Anna grins, putting her own wand back underneath her night gown, while handing Kane's to Dumbledore, who had entered the room. "It sure took you a while... um... headmaster." She caught herself just in time, not wanting to be too familiar with him. The old man smiles lightly as he accepts the wand. "Thank you, Anastasia. I'm glad to see you two managed." He walks over to were Kane is asleep on the floor and puts him on a stretcher with a flick of his wand.
"I should give you a stern talking about being out at this time," he added, sending both the stretcher and Kane outside of the potions room, "But professor Snape seems to have already done so, so I won't. You two go to your common rooms, alright? We will talk in the morning." Anna nods lightly as she is busy pulling off Drews' cloak, "Yes sir." |
Drew looked around him, "I'm truly sorry Professor, Headmaster. It was my fault we got into this mess. If I had only-"
"Calm down Mr. Kingsley. I know very well what happened and how you all got into this mess. I do hope you will return the books tomorrow?" Dumbledore said with a wink. "Yes, and you, Ms. Orsenhoven, and Ms. Rumeti, once she has recovered, will spend two evenings with me in Detention to clean up this mess and get all of the ingredients ruined once more as well as rebrew the potions broken," added Snape with a frown as he mentally noted all of the damage. Drew's eyes became widened, "R-r-recovered? What's wrong with her? Is she going to be okay? I must see her!" He began to panic as he rubbed his temples to try and relieve his stress headache, "Drec ec ymm so vyimd.. Ev uhmo E ryt dymgat ran ehdu cmaabehk duhekrd ehcdayt uv kuehk uid.. E cruimt ryja paah fymgehk fedr ran, hud dyemehk ran.." He continued his mutterings and his assumptions as to what was wrong with Saiyuri in his native tongue, not allowing Dumbledore or Snape to speak and tell him what was really wrong with her. |
Exchanging an understanding look with Dumbledore, Anna simply gives Drew a little shake. "Will you stop panicking, you nitwit?" She tries to hold him still, annoyed at his other-worldly babblings. "Or I'll be sure to slap you again!"
Ignoring him for the most part, she turns back to professor Snape and Dumbledore. "I shall look very much forward to this detention, professor Snape. I'm afraid potions has never been my strong suit, at Beauxbatons." Her smile is broad and innocent in reply to Snapes' sneer, and she calmly asks both teachers, "What is wrong with Saiyuri, then, sir?" |
Drew, fearing her slap, immediately stopped mid-sentence, "I.. I'm sorry.. It's just I..."
Dumbledore raised his hand for silence, "Saiyuri is perfectly fine. However, the spell of Kane's has given side effects that mixed with her.. illness. She's begining to change Drew, do you still have the vile?" Drew looked down at the ground, "I'm sorry Headmaster... I was forced to use it earlier.." "Professor, do you have a spare?" "No sir, Kane blasted Drew into the storage." "How long until you can make another?" "An hour perhaps?" "Not enough time.. she's changing too quickly.. Is there anything else we can substitute for it?" Looking towards the untouched cauldron, "Well.. I have been working on something new.." "Is it ready for testing?" "Yes, let me pour it into a vile," Snape ran his hand through his hair as he rummaged through his desk for a vile and a ladle. Upon finding the items, he quickly began to pour the pale blue contents into the vile. "Wait, you've never tested this?! I won't allow it! Forget it! Saiyuri is NOT taking that!" shouted Drew, outraged at Saiyuri becoming a test subject. "We have no choice, it's either this or.." Professor Snape trailed off, not wanting to finish the sentence. "Mr. Kingsley, you either contain yourself and allow us to do this, or we'll contain you ourselves." "Oh really, what are you going to do Dumbledore? Lock me up? Bind me? Go ahead! Do you really think her parents want this for her?!" "What do you expect us to do Drew, allow her to change into him?!" shouted Snape furiously as he handed the vile to Dumbledore. Dumbledore took the vile and made his way towards the door, followed by Professor Snape to make sure all went well. Drew took out his want and pointed it at Dumbledore, "Don't move another inch... Who knows what will happen to Saiyuri if she takes that?! She could die!" |
"Give it to me." Anna holds open her palm as she nods at the vile in Dumbledores' hand. "I'll try it. If nothing happens to me, will you allow Saiyuri to take it?" She asks, trying to be the voice of reason.
|
Drew rolled his eyes, "YOU WEREN'T BITTEN! YOU DON'T HAVE THE ILLNESS! It'll only hurt you if you take it... Do you want to die Anna? If you take it, you'll die... And Saiyuri most likely will as well if she takes it..." Turning to Dumbledore, he inquired, "What are her eyes like?"
"Her eyes?" "Yes, what color are they.." "What does it matter?" "It matters a great deal... please.. tell me." "I do not know. I didn't look." Sighing, Drew turned to Snape, "Did you see them?" "They were silver when I brought her to the Headmaster, but they were changing at a rapid rate once she was there." "To what?" "They would flash lavender, to cream, to hazy silver." "What are the side effects...." "We don't know.. but neither Anna nor Saiyuri will die from this. But if we don't give it to Saiyuri right now, it will take over and she will be another one of-" "DON'T SAY IT! She won't turn into that monster..." "Then will you let her take the potion?" "If you promise it won't harm her.." "Very well then, go to your common rooms immediately." The headmaster and professor quickly made their way out of the class room and towards Madam Promfrey's Hospital Wing. "You must think I'm stupid to cause such a fuss over this.." |
Anna doesn't reply. Instead, she walks to the cauldron, grabs the ladel, and smells it. "I know I wasn't bitten," she says sternly, "But something that doesn't harm me, shouldn't harm Saiyuri, either." She lifts the potion to her lips, and takes a long, slow draught from the ladel. As she lowers it back into the cauldron, she looks at Drew. "You'd best learn to trust me."
|
Sighing, he replied, "But it may have different effects on her... I just don't want her to die due to my carelessness.. And I really wish you wouldn't have drunk that.. you don't know what it could do to you.. Besides, it's not you that I don't trust, it's the potion.."
|
Anna shrugs lightly, "If you don't trust me, than at least trust the professors." She chucks his cloak at him, and decisively walks to the door, holding it open to let him pass, before closing it after her. "You need to get some sleep - I'm sure Saiyuri will be fine."
|
Drew laughed, "You don't listen very well. However, you're right. I do need sleep. Will you do me a favor and check on Saiyuri in the morning? Make sure her eyes are back to brown, or a light brown if she's just awaken. If they're any other color, come get me right away okay?"
|
Anna smiles sweetly, "I do listen - but I just don't believe you." Quietly she walked next to him, her hands folded together on the small of her back. "I'm sorry, Drew, but I can't do that." She stops him before he can say anything, by continuing, "I'm in Gryffindor, remember? I don't think they'll keep her in the infirmary for this, since it's supposed to be a secret."
|
Drew laughed as he picked up the books that Anna had gotten, "Yes, I remember. However, they will keep her in the infirmary. Better in the infirmary with a charm making it look like she has something else wrong with her, than in the dormitory where it will be witness by everyone in Ravenclaw. Besides, no one is in the infirmary this time of year, Peeves doesn't begin his spell casting and tormenting for another week," he added with a wink.
"However, I do understand why you wouldn't want to check on her, you don't know her illness very well nor do you know what type of state you shall find her in," he smiled as he turned down a corridor, "I won't be going to the dormitory quite yet, you had better scidattle though. You don't want the professors or Finch to catch you." |
Rolling her eyes, Anna managed to grin at him, "And then I'm the one who doesn't listen. If she's been brought to the infirmary, I don't see why you just can't check her yourself." She stretched her still folded hands behind her, swaying her hips to enjoy the feel of her nightgown flipping around her legs, almost idly. "You should know by now that I'm not a scaredy cat."
|
Drew sighed, "Because, if Saiyuri does happen to remember, I won't be able to face her for awhile. Besides, I'd much rather not be the one to tell her we lost the books again. Which is why I have to go leave these on the Headmasters Desk. He'll put them away for us."
He laughed as he continued to walk down the hallway, "After the way you delt with Kane, I don't believe you're scared of anything. Just remember, not being afraid can get you into a lot of trouble one of these days, be a little more cautious when dealing with situations like that. After all, you did lose your first kiss to him." |
Smiling lightly, Anna shrugged, "There will be more kisses, and they can only go 'up' in ranking, in my mind. Blech." She shudders at this, than starts laughing cheerfully. "Poor Saiyuri, such a jerk, and a lousy kisser to boot!"
Her bare feet made a fairly loud noise in the hallways, and Anna forced herself to walk on tiptoe. "I was just thinking, isn't there such a thing as a copying spell? We could give the originals back, and put the duplicates in that room Saiyuri mentioned?" Instead of waiting for an answer, she immediatly asked another question, out of sheer curiosity. "Why won't you be able to face her for a while, if she remembers? That doesn't make any sense." |
Laughing, Drew answered, "He's never kissed Saiyuri, so I suppose she's a bit lucky. However, I won't be able to face her, because it was all my fault that he was able to take her. I wasn't close to her like I should have been. If I were, she wouldn't have gotten into this mess, and she wouldn't have had to take that blue concoction of Snape's. Besides, how am I going to explain this to her parents?"
After a few moments, he stopped dead in his tracks and smiled at Anna, finally comprehending what she had asked prior to her last question, "You're brilliant.. Do you know the spell? Wait, don't do it yet. Follow me." He quickly darted back the way they had come and turned down a corridor to the right. |
Blinking, the brunette followed Drew, oblivious to where they were going as she joked, "I have my moments."
"How was any of it you fault, though? I mean..." She frowns a bit as she catches up to him, "None of it is your responsibility. And I doubt if Saiyuri feels differently." |
Taking another quick left, he replied with a laugh, "Actually, since my family is in debt to her family due to her father saving the life of my mother, I was entrusted with her and have been her Guardian and soul childhood friend since we were young. So, it is my responsibility. Although, she knows none of this and never shall if I have anything to do with it. However, I do love her very much, which makes me worry even more about her and feel as if I've neglected my duties as her Guardian. And every time Kane shows up, I'm reminded of the fact that I can do little to protect her. That is why I encourage her to read these books and become the best she can be, so she can take care of herself if I ever neglect to as I have tonight."
Taking another quick turn to the right, he stopped upon reaching the center of the corridor. In front of him was a dark wall, not looking out of the ordinary. Drew smirked, "I need a room where we can store the copies of these books and practice their spells without anyone catching us." A few moments later, after much creaking and shifting of the wall, a door appeared. The dark oak door, had a brass handle that sparkled in the moon light. Drew smiled as opened the door to an elegant room with cream couches that had light oak trims, medium oak tables, and a white marble fireplace with fur rugs spread out throughout the large room, "I think this will do quite nicely. Come on, have you remembered the spell?" Drew set the books down side by side on a nearby table and stepped back, "Whenever you're ready, make some magic!" |
Anna, however, was staring at him incredulously. "You're serious?!" Her voice rose slighly as she became more annoyed, "What kind of a burden is that to bury? It's impossible to ask such a thing - not to mention, to keep it from the person in question." Shaking her head, she retrieved her wand, walking to the table he had placed the books on. "Saiyuri deserves to know - Geminio -" with a light tap on the first book, "about everything - Geminio - including your feelings." Two identical books had placed themselves on top of the originals, and Anna contently put away her wand.
"Honestly, what a simple test of bravery can't lead to." |
Upon seeing the copies, Drew picked them up and brought them over to a bookcase. Setting them down on a shelf, he picked up four books that were hazardously put upon the top shelf and set them down upon the table in front of Anna, "These too please, I have to return these as well."
He laughed at the serious look upon Anna's face, "It's alright Anna, Saiyuri doesn't need to know. Besides, she doesn't feel as I do, she has feelings for someone else. I don't want to get in the way of her happiness. And anyway, if she found out about my secret, she would feel obligated to have feelings for me, and I don't want that. That is much worse than living with a secret. Besides, does she really need anymore drama to deal with?" |
"Being loved isn't drama," Anna states clearly, tapping the four books consecutively to duplicate them. "And I'm experiencing such a deja-vu. You're just like Tomoyo," she sighs, shaking her head sadly, "Putting aside your own emotions because you think it will be best - such rubbish. Let her decide for herself." Easily, she lifts up two for the newly copied books and puts them in one of the bookshelves, wanting something to do while she's talking. "Protecting people from making their own decisions is the worst - especially when it comes to loves," she concludes, taking the other two in her arms and putting them on top.
"Also," she turns around, hands on her lips, and looks at Drew with a teasing smile on her lips, "What am I, a xerox machine?" |
Drew laughed, "Perhaps, since you're here and know our secret, you might as well make yourself useful and help us keep the rest of the books as well," he added with a wink.
"Who's Tomoyo?" Drew inquired as he disreguarded the rest of her chatter and picked up one of the original books, adding it to the small pile of the previous books. As he walked towards the door he added, "Come on, we have to put these back before the Headmaster gets back, carry those for me?" he asked as he nodded towards the three remaining books on the table, "I don't have enough arms to carry all six." |
Holding out her tongue in reply to his taunt, Anna complies and picks up the remaining books. "I like being useless too, though," she jokes, following him out of the room. "But in any case, Tomoyo is a character from a manga - a japanese comic book. I used to collect them, back in Belgium."
Humming lightly, she waits for him outside of the room, a cheerful smile on her face. "She's in love with her best girl-friend, but only wants her to be happy, while not being happy herself. Like that ever works," Anna adds sarcastically, rolling her eyes before winking at him. "'tis a really nice series, though." |
