Marci thrashed in her sound sleep, and flipped out of her tall bed. With a loud thud, the “infant” vampire landed on the hard, wood flooring of her bedroom. A groan was uttered from the tight cocoon of sheet and blankets that the girl was wrapped in. For a few moments, Marci struggled to free herself before she finally stood. She yawned and rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she excited her bedroom and headed down the hall.

Once at her destination, her apartment’s one and only bathroom, she stripped and stepped into the shower. Letting the hot, steamy water pour down over her, she picked up her shampoo bottle, squirted out the fruit-scented, thick liquid into her awaiting hand, Marci began working her fingers through her hair.

Once she’d finished bathing and had fully dressed herself, Marci receded down the hall and into the kitchen, where she expected to find her brother preparing breakfast.
