It's the biggest independently owned bookstore in the USA <3
It's so big they have a map for the whole store, an art gallery, and a rare book room...
The best part is that they buy books, so you can usually find a copy of what you're looking for used... and pay less than retail.
They call it the city of books. xD

I used to live like... 5 blocks away from that store... and they're open from 10AM to 11PM EVERY DAY.
If I got bored... I'd go get lost in there for a good 3 hours. xD
I've heard rumors that english majors have dropped out of college to move here and work at this book store because it's so huge. O.o
Portland is weird though.
Really weird... compared to other cities... We're like leading the "green" movement... and like every other car you see around here is either a prius or a smartcar. xD
And not to mention all the pot-smoking hippies that hang out by the river... or the overly friendly bums who will say "thank you" after you deny them change..
And then there's the hipsters. O.o *hates hipsters...*
