Personality: Considered to be paranoid, untrusting and generally the last person to give you a fair chance, she's reasonably not well liked, she is always forward and never backs down from her beliefs.
And why, do you ask, is some-one like this head of Security? Because she's almost never wrong. Her suspicions have been frequently proven correct and she has an unmarred track record of always getting the right man.
She is actually a decent person though, honor and justice being the key issues that reveal her personality. Justice should be undenied and it should never be pinned down with laws and rules because Justice is absolute.
As a direct result of Captain Murdock trusting her to do her job as his Chief of Security, she has developed loyalty to him and will follow his commands to the letter.
Background:
Who is Ashriel? Chief of Security, and a holy terror to the unjust, thats who. But thats not how it all started, is it? Ashriel was born to a family line of soldiers, police force and security guards, it was only natural that she'd pick up on her family and follow the calling.
Her recruitment into the military was an easy job and her survival in it evenly so, her family had long drilled her and instructed her, taught her the hard facts, shown her how to spot a crook from a mile away and how to deal with situations, how to mete out everything she could percieve and understand the situation.
She was not the singlemost gifted child in the world as some people near tot he family wanted to believe. Ashriel learned well and she worked hard, though her lack of time with other kids made her somewhat intolerant of people where they werent in an orderly fashion.
Unfortunately the military saw this developed personality as a threat, in spite of her good record, she was always in control and always got things right, they feared that her willingness to take down any unjust man might make her rebel and cause trouble for higher ups who may have been stuck in some dirty dealings.
But along came her saviour in the form of Captain James Murdock. He had reviewed her record and evaluated her personally, eventually choosing her as his chief of security, thus earning Ashriel that promotion she knew she damn well deserved.
Powers: Pain touch, Ashriel has found that her hands pulsate with an odd warmth and when she touches another by flesh she causes them pain, it cannot be described as much else. The touch of pain is torturous, agonizing and paralyzing. she puts this to good use because it cannot be attuned to and so those whom have been unjust become targets for the touch of pain. To stop herself harming innocent people, she has opted to wear gloves constantly.
Mindfield: Considered psychic in nature, but limited only to herself, Ashriel can stand in a location and examine the surroundings before becoming entranced. Within the mindfield she can rewind time to see what had occurred before, unfortunately it does not function correctly all the time and she can only ascertain various images but it is usually enough to help her investigations.
