Hello all, this looks really interesting.... and uh... silver invited me here.... I really do think I'll join... :angel:
Not really sure what kind of character I want yet though... there's technically still the doctor and navigator positions open... but.... I'd really like to make a native.... but only if that's ok.... I could save the character for later, when it's needed.... Darn, I don't know.... :shock:

lol, someone has already claimed the healer, she just hasn't made the character yet. But you can also make a passenger, they have special powers too that they didn't have before they cryo-stasis.

And once they actually meet the natives, which will be a while, you're welcome to make one...it'll just take some time.

I think I'll go with the Navigator for now... I'm in the process of making him, and I'm gonna save my native for later, though I need to change her pofile a little bit. I hope you don't mind if I post her profile when it's done, just so that it's there and I can use her when the time comes... ^ ^

As for right now... I need to catch some ZZzzz's... :sweat: If I don't I'll be tired when I work Country Music Fest tomorrow. Later all. I'll finish the profiles and everything by Sunday, I hope.... I won't get the chance to get online tomorrow... *pouts*

Job/Occupation/Skills: Co-Chief Doctor, Skilled in Medicine, but also very dexterous and lithe. Her past occupation was as a trapeze artist for a traveling circus. Thusly she is very quick on her feet and can squeeze into places most can't. She also has a little experience in brawling and melee combat with knives. She has basic knowledge about how to operate simple firearms.
Personality: While she comes off as a bit detached or icy, she is soft-hearted and hates to see people suffer. Unfortunately her indifference tends to cause suffering in the sensitive types, so she's often beating herself up over that. She has a good sense of humor and has a wide range of emotions which she expresses, if you're around to see it. She's very perceptive; hardly anything escapes her attention.
Background: She was in and out of foster homes since she was a child, and by the age of sixteen she put herself on the streets to find her own way in the world. The head of a traveling circus took her in and gave her work, manual labor, but it paid and it taught her how to take care of herself and appreciate a day's work. Eventually she moved up in the business until she became a slightly well-known trapeze artist. One night, however, when there was an accident involving a close friend of hers, she saw the medics at work and something clicked. She loved her job, and she loved making people laugh and smile, she loved to astound and surprise them. But to be able to reach out and touch lives, to save lives, would be her dream. So she took the money she had saved, got an education, labored tirelessly for years, and finally because a certified doctor. When the planet died, she was hired on to one of the ships taking passengers and searching for a new home. There, she became the Co-Chief Doctor under the direct command of the Chief Doctor on the ship.

Picture: None, so here's a description. She has long brown hair that goes to her waist, soft doe brown eyes, and caramel colored skin. She rarely wears anythong outside her official uniform.
Name: Arij Abad-Al-Latif
Meaning of name: Fragrance Service-of-the-gentle
Age: 26
Job/Occupation/Skills: Doctor, all sorts of first aid and medical training, including in poisons and determining if something is safe to eat. She can keep anyone healthy with whatever's around, but other then that she relies on everyone else.
Personality: Kind and nurturing, she's made to be a mother, but so far has no children. She's as gentle as a flower and her bedside manner lacks nothing. She became a doctor because she hated the idea of deliberately harming another person, but underneath everything, she is strong, and has a will of steel.
Background: Born to a somewhat upper middle class family, she was an only child. At an early age, two close friends got into a fight in front of her. She surprised herself and everyone around her by stepping up and pulling them both apart before tending to their wounds. She decided that that is what she wanted to do with her life, to help others.
Powers: Death Mantle/Life Touch. A strange change for the kind doctor, her touch can now bring death, disease, healing, or even the most miraculous cure. It all depends on her emotions. The more intense the emotion, the more intense the effect. Happiness gives a person a healthy glow, concern can cure anything, depression imparts sickness, and anger, death.
I'm actually going to make a list of these so I can keep track. The human mind has so many emotions and untold mixes of them. For RP, I'll try to give hints about what she's feeling and then it should be obvious what happens.
Happiness: healthy glow, you don't even have to be sick, you just feel better.
Concern: It makes you better! Whee!
Neutrality or indifference: Nothing, she just doesn't feel anything towards you.
Depression: Bronchitis or one of the nasty lingering diseases. May not be immediately apparent.
Pain: Sudden illness, severity based on the pain she's feeling.
Anger: Any kind of creative death. Mild, suppressed anger might actually give cancer or something equally subtle but certain, Fury is just death.
Determination: Gives strength, physically and mentally.

Also, to everyone in the group. Try to remember that your character's don't know about thier abilities yet. They received them during cryo-stasis and are completely new to them. So likely, they'd have trouble controlling them at first as well.

Oh and um, coldpyro_0, Some one has already claimed the position of navigator, they just haven't gotten aroud to making a profile yet.

But if you would like feel free to make up another random position on the ship....also, do you think you could expand the profile a bit, it's very vague.

Um, just a question, but Firemare, how did your character become a highly trained Chief Doctor by the time she was twenty? Schooling alone would take at least four years, and most likely more for her to work her way up to such a high status. Unless she was a bit of a child genius and began college way before 17. Just trying to keep a realistic look on things.

I know. I just randomly assigned her an age. Once I get a better sense of my fellow crewmates I'll move it to an appropriate number. (On a side note, I started college at 15, so hey, it's possible!)

Job/Occupation/Skills: Merchant, blacksmith in reality (read background). Good with most blades, okay with guns, fine with his fist. He’s got some basic first aid knowledge also.
Personality: Cocky, and very jovial. He likes to joke around and doesn’t hide what he’s thinking. A lot of people think he’s hiding a softer side underneath everything, but he’s not. He likes that he can be jovial but at the same time harsh and abrasive. Kaleb likes to think of himself as a lady’s man also.
Background: Kaleb was born on the street and lead all of his childhood there. At a young age he was quickly picked up by an elder blacksmith who needed some help. The blacksmith taught him the world of a merchant and at the same time the faire of a smith. He learned and sold items during the day and at night when the old man was sleeping he brawled to earn the extra cash to keep the shop afloat. When the old man died it left Kaleb as the sole owner of the shop, which though he was fond about he wasn’t sure if it was the right thing. When hearing about a ship to leave the world he jumped on the chance.

I made sure not to make mention of your age in my post, so you have room to adjust it when/if necessary. And thank you for answering my question. ^-^ I like to have a good understanding of my fellow rpers and their characters, so I don't make mistakes in game based on miscommunication.

Oh sure thing. The only thing I had to go by was the other character on this page, which was the maybe navigator, because I dislike switching around between pages while trying to keep a coherent train of thought for a profile.
