Personality: He is dedicated to his job, to the exception of nearly everything else, with definitely no time for romantic relationships. That isn't to say he isn't personable; he likes talking to people and getting on with them, and hates conflict.
Background: Owain was never brilliant, only bright. At school he did well, if not brilliantly; ditto at university. The British Scientist always had his eyes on the stars, and soon after university moved into one of the orbital habitats to train as a Science Officer. He was a good all rounder, not spectacular at any subject, but reasonable at all of them, and graduated with honours. He spent the next few years on the Falling Angel orbital habitat in preparation for the exodus, which was years in the planning (getting billions of people off of the planet doesn't happen in a day, you know!), during which time he married and had a daughter. He has no idea where his (now ex) wife and his daughter now are; the divorce was rather acrimonious.
Powers:Telempathy; if he leaves himself 'open', he literally feels what others can feel. This is not so good when people are in pain, naturally - although it could be put to other uses...

@ Knitted Doll- Yes they have thier abilities at the start, they just don't know about them, they got them while still in Cryo-stasis. I can't see anythign really wrong except that "telempathy" is spelt telepathy and technically someone already has that ability, but that's okay, you can keep it or an a second power to the mix. But, otherwise, you are accepted, since you ar part of the senior staff, you are already awake, but since the meeting with the crew was already done, when you post why don't you say you're locked in your room or something and wait for someone to get you out. what ever works for you. Feel free to post when you can.

I will definitely be making another character, but it really depends on what is needed. If nobody fills the spot for Sin's underling security officer, then I'll take that, but if someone does, I can always make a native. They sound very fun. Heck, if I feel up to it, I can probably run three characters. If that's alright with the Leader. I'm quite excited for this game, and I think having more than one character will be nice because then I'll be able to reply to different parts of the game while waiting on other parts. It keeps it moving. I'm going to be around a lot I think, this week.

Thank you very much, Saiytanya. A few questions about powers, though: Are the powers assumed to be manifested from the start? Or will they appear as the crew spends more time on the planet's surface? And is it alright for more than one character to have the same powers?

And Kierys, if it helps, the character I'm working on is going to be a passenger or a scientist rather than a security officer.

She states in the intro that they wake up from cryo-stasis with their powers. They however have no knowledge of this until they discover them. Some of the crew has already started to discover their powers. Others are still completely unaware. As for the rest, it is discouraged to have the same power as another character, but if you can make it work, then I think it's okay. It's probably best to be on the safe side and just come up with a different one. If you're having trouble thinking up one, you can ask me. I have a few ideas for powers, having played several games with the same such concept.

And I will have to wait until after recruiting is closed before I make the character. I want to give everyone a chance to play any parts that they want before I fill loose positions. Although I do have to say, I really would like to play someone under direct command of Ash. She is quite an interesting character. Kudos to Sin for such a dynamic character. *Applauds*

Picture: I am working on drawing one, and will edit it in when I am finished? Irinei has longish blonde hair, however it has started to go white at the roots. He will emerge from his cryostasis capsule with a beard to match, however he will trim it or shave it off entirely as soon as he possibly can. The ship's artificial gravity, coupled with the fact that Irinei was more or less in stasis, means that his features are not as wrinkled as they could be, however he still has a definite matured look to him. Also, his left leg is injured and atrophied, and Irinei can no longer walk on it.
Name: Irinei Castel
Age: placed in cryostasis at age 27, now looks more like 57
Job/Occupation/Skills: Electronics specialist, and an historic machinery enthusiast in his spare time
Personality: Irinei suffers from an excess of intelligence with a shortage of wisdom. Coupled with his drive to constantly improve his work, he was known on Earth to go days without sleep so that he could finish his projects. Some said that he loved machines more than he loved people, however under Irinei's eccentric and sometimes single-minded exterior, he truly did find pleasure in helping others.
The gradual decay of the world made him become cynical with regards to technology, however, and so while he will still remained on the cutting edge to conduct his repairs, Irinei's true passion was in historical gadgets. He would build all sorts of things himself in clockwork and such, to harken back to the days when one did not need a nuclear reaction to live and get by. And so, on Earth, he lived simply, alone save for his father, and usually indoors, tinkering away on something or another at all times. He left his home planet fearing what sort of strange world he would end up living in, but also deeply curious what he might find to construct and to play with.
Background: Irinei's parents encouraged him to attend college when the time came, as he always received high marks in his earlier schooling, however the young man chose instead to attend a vocational school to study electronics. His father had done the same, and, though the man was a bit disappointed that his gifted son would not rise above him in status, he accepted his son's choice and took him as an apprentice in his repair shop, as well. The hard-working young man excelled in the electronics shop, and quickly became a partner to his father ... though the elder Castel still took care of the majority of the dealings with customers. Irinei's mother passed away from sickness when he was in his early twenties, however, and his father, facing great pain from the loss, withdrew and left the shop to his son to attend more to matters around the house. And then the pair of them found schematics and diagrams for old clocks, watches, and other machines that ran from gears and old-fashioned batteries; father and son took to building things in their off-time and gradually found healing through what they created.
Then the time came to leave Earth. Though there were definite doubts - particularly on the part of Irinei himself - with regards to whether or not he should be included with the group aboard the U.S.S. Genesis, ultimately he was selected as a passenger because his interest in doing things "the old-fashioned way" may prove helpful in establishing a new colony. With the promise that he would be reunited with his father when they reached their destination, Irinei boarded the Genesis, and drifted off into deep cryogenic sleep.
Unfortunately, the Genesis encountered an accident in deep space, and Irinei's stasis pod was located in one of the damaged sectors. Debris struck the outer shell of his pod, cracking it ever so slightly; though he was lucky to have survived at all, as many in his sector did not, the leak caused his life to slip away, however slowly. An able-bodied man in the prime of his life went to sleep on a dying Earth, but now awakens much aged.
