oh! Thank you no problem! I guess Audra has a 4 because while she does understand that physics and such are laws for a reason she also believes in like mythological creatures, spirits, magical stuff etc.
Tykonaughtica: I don't know what it says about me that I saw nothing wrong with your previous statement, but thank you and I will be sure to post as soon as possible!

~edit~ With a system ranging from 1-10 I figured 5 would be considered the average and my 4 then slightly to the left of normal, however it seems my train of thought was faulty in some way, therefore I will bump reality up to a 5 or 6. I leave this up to your knowledgeable judgement.

Now, believing in mythical creatures is not necessarily enough to warrant a four in reality. For instance, I myself believe in spirits and other such, but I also soundly believe in the laws of the physical realm, so my Reality would be a 6 or 7.

Also, once you have re-evaluated your Reality and adjusted it properly, or given a good enough reason for it to remain at four, then I need you to write up a first post and post it in this thread. Do not post in the game thread. You are not accepted yet. I need to evaluate your writing ability first before I say yes or no. When/if you have been accepted, your profile will be put in the Accepted Profiles section, and only once I have said, "Go ahead and post in the game thread" may you post there.

Since the average person believes in the rules of reality as a rule, most people would be a ten. Eights and Nines don't believe so solidly and might have suspicions of other stuff being possible. Sixes and Sevens believe the possibility of things defying the set rules, and Fours and Fives believe steadfastly in the existence of the ability to bend and sometimes even break the rules of reality, within logical reasoning. I don't mean they entertain the idea, I mean they truly believe. Ones, Twos, and Threes do not believe there is anything that cannot be done and completely renounce the rules of reality. Typically only the insane fall into this category.

Now, I just need you to post your first reply in this thread and I will evaluate it and decide whether or not to accept you into the game.

Also, I apologize for any misconceptions about your acceptance. Earlier I was merely stating that your profile looked good, not necessarily that you were in the game. I always require a sample of roleplaying in order to decide if someone will work well with the other characters before I accept them. But thus far, your chances look good. Also, Tyko is another character in the game, not a mod or anyone running the game. The decision whether to accept or not still resides with me, I'm afraid. Although if he likes you, that's always a good sign. He has a good eye for things like that.

Sorry for the delay in a new opening post, I unfortunately had to attend a funeral this weekend and was out of town.

Staring out the window, eyes glazed over Audra swam in her own private world as the rude pseudo-graduate student in front of her continued his rant on the evils of Milton and his general poor opinion of the small book shop. "...And I do not see why the 'science fiction' section has to be two shelves more than the 'philosophy'! This is a college book store isn't it? Where is the academia?!" He slammed his hand onto the front counter, shaking Audra from her fantasies. She hazily pushed her reading glasses back up her nose and, seeming to stare through him muttered, as though reciting from a book, "We are not in any way associated with the university and thus are not held under any contracts to supply books pertaining to any undergraduate or graduate class listed within the university course catalog. If you have any requests for titles please speak with the manager or fill out a paper request, though our resident salamander tends to eat those for fuel."
Audra paused a moment, removing her glasses and placing them carefully in their case before setting them in one of the desk's many drawers. "Now, I am going to go get a scone from down the street and have a chat with the church gargoyle about his predictions for tomorrow night's baseball game. If you have any further questions the manager is in the back room bartering with the brownie to make sure he'll keep cleaning this next year. Have a good day." She slipped from behind the desk, grabbing her jacket and purse, and slipping out the door leaving the now confused pseudo-graduate student behind in her wake.

I would actually need you to write what you would post as a first post for this game. That way I can see how your character works and if they would mesh well with the others. So, pretend that you have been accepted and are writing your first post to the game, and then just post it here, please. Thank you for your patience. Second edit: Someone, please post something in here so I do not have to keep editing my posts. >.< Anyways, Bippy, thank you for pming me to inform me of the change. I am sorry to hear about the funeral; those are never fun to attend, especially when you know the person involved.

Overall the content itself is pretty good, but I want you to watch your paragraphs. Big blocks of text are not very kind on the eyes and are also not very aesthetically pleasing. Also, punctuation and capitalization are also very, very important in this game. Hence the Literate to Advanced requirement. I mention capitalization more in reference to your OOC posts, but be sure to keep an eye on that in your game posts as well. Players only get so many warnings/reminders before I start considering removing them from the game for not fulfilling standards.

This is a strict game in the sense of being able to type well and properly. I am warning you now that if you do not think you can meet standards, then do not join. However, if you just take the time to clean up your posts a little before submitting them, then you should be fine. All it really takes is an extra minute to go over things, and it is a very good habit to have in other situations online anyways.

If you feel you are up for the challenges of this game, then consider yourself accepted. Go ahead and post in the game thread. Just cut your post and put it in the game thread, or quote it.

A few reminders before you start:

There is a "post every three days" requirement, which I strictly enforce. This means that no more than three days may pass between your posts before I start sending warnings. You only get so many warnings before you are removed from the game. This requirement is stated in the rules. If you have not read through and confirmed the rules yet, then:

Do not join the game. Go and read them. And then apologize for trying to join without reading the rules. I would be insulted if anyone tried joining a game without doing the GM the decency of reading his/her rules. It's just bad manners to even post in a thread that you haven't read the rules for. But if you have already read the rules, then you are already aware of this requirement. ^-^

If, for any reason, you cannot make the requirement, you must give us warning ahead of time. Only in situations that you could not control or foresee is it acceptable to not give us warning and miss your requirement deadlines. Let me give some examples:

If you have school, then let us know when it is getting too busy for you to make post requirement for a set period of time. If school continues to be a problem, then you will have to be dropped. If my brother can juggle school, a job, and this thread, then everyone else certainly can. I understand if you get a lot of homework and don't think you'll quite meet the date, but you need to let me know this beforehand. This is what I mean by a "foreseeable circumstance".

If you fall suddenly ill or become injured or hospitalized and cannot get to the computer, then you will be excused upon your return, assuming you let us know why you were gone. Obviously you can't predict when you'll get sick or hurt, so I will not hold you accountable for that. If you use the "sick or injured" excuse often, with no history of clumsiness or being sick often, then I will begin to doubt your honesty, and you may be put on suspension. So, as long as you are truthful, you should be fine. This is what I mean by a "non-foreseeable circumstance".

Work, school, appointments, weddings, funerals, and any other pre-scheduled event falls under the "Foreseeable" category.

Illness, injury, loss of internet, or computer errors fall under the "Non-Foreseeable" category.

I think you get the point, so let's move on:

Remember to visit this thread often, as all the game announcements are made here. It's also a good idea to stick around and chat with your fellow gamers and get to know them. You will be gaming with them for a while, if this game works out the way I am hoping. So far so good.

Any personal problems you have with any other player should be resolved in private. Any conflicts regarding the game should be brought up in this thread, not the game thread. The game thread is reserved strictly for official posts, and the rare occasion when I have to tell a new player something. We've already had two such situations, and I hope not to have any more, with any luck. It clutters the thread and looks bad.

Follow the rules and keep these things in mind and you should be fine. Most of these reminders are listed in the rules anyways, so if you ever need a reminder, you can review them in the fourth post on the first page.

If everything still sounds good, then please be sure to edit your post to accommodate standards and put it up in the game thread.

One last thing: I edited your "Reality" to be a 6, rather than a 4. I feel that by the way you played her in your first post, it fits better.

I lied. One more thing: I realize that I may come off a bit like a tight-ass, for lack of a better phrase, but anyone who knows me personally knows I am actually a very laid back person. But I take my games very seriously. I think if you're going to write a story, then do it right. And I take the games that I run especially seriously. That doesn't mean I don't have fun. I love these games, and I wouldn't do it if I weren't having fun. So don't worry, this game is still about fun. Don't let the rules or my scary persona scare you away. I guarantee, it's not as bad as it all sounds.

I have a quick question about formatting in this RP. Normally, one would indent to indicate the formation of a new paragraph; unfortunately, Menewsha does not seem to allow indentation in posts. Does double-spacing between paragraphs take care of this? Or is there something else you would like done in posts?

Double spaces is fabulous, thank you, Bippy. Much easier on everyone's eyes that way. It does suck about the tab not working, but we do with what we have.

This game doesn't work exactly like the games we play, Tyko. I can't play every single person they might run into. The only active NPCs I have in play right now are Sanaii and Jessica (Though they don't really count as NPC's.) Jessica is in the cafe, and Sanaii is in the library. I'm not going to make up a character every time a player needs someone to talk to. But I will post anyways, as I'm a little overdue. I'm going to have to send a message to Firemare as well, since she hasn't posted, just to remind her. I'm not going to do any warnings this time, since I too am guilty of getting wrapped up in life.

Edit: In my defense, I was gone all day today. It's not really an excuse so much as an explanation, because I know if I had been here, I would have been posting like crazy, out of boredom. Strangely busy week. Tomorrow I'm gone, near as I can tell all day as well, since I doubt the bus runs tomorrow. So I'll be stuck there all damn day. Again. Ugh. So, don't expect me until at least Sunday.

I figured I'd get Audra to the cafe herself, at least that way she'll be around PCs and we can work from there. Kierys don't worry about being a little late in posting, especially if you've been busy. (We've all been there!)

The only reason I bring up the fact that I was late in posting is because usually I run a very strict schedule and don't allow for much unless prior notice is given. The only reason I didn't send out any warnings to anyone this time was because I too was guilty, and I don't find it fair for me to escape punishment (After all, how I could I warn myself? If I get too many warnings, I would be out, and the GM can't be out of the game they are running, so warnings are moot points) while the other players have to suffer the consequences. So, this time was a free round, but from now on, it's back to our usual 1-3 day schedule. And I need to hear from Firemare, otherwise I will send a warning. I only missed one posting date, but if she doesn't post soon, she'll be missing two, and I'm only pardoning one.

Hurray! I know what it's like to be without a computer or internet, I recently got my laptop back after two weeks in the shop. (I had been borrowing a friends computer during that time)

Alright people, I really can't physically post again, since I was the last to post, so I need to see some action. Bippy, you need to post again. Since there are only so many players in the game, there's not going to be anyone to interact with you until someone is freed up or until you join the area where they are. If you move your character out of the place she's in, I could work in my other NPC to run into you, but that's all I can do. Everyone needs to find ways to keep busy.

The 23rd/24th/25th was excused as a group miss, but it's been over three days since then. (I say it this way because Tyko posted on the 20th, Firemare and I posted on the 21st, and Bippy posted on the 22nd) We need to all get back on schedule.

Firemare is getting dangerously close to a second warning, and she's posted in one other rp since the 21st when she posted here, and she logged in yesterday, so unless something dire came up, I'm not going to be very forgiving.

Tyko really can't post since his post depends on Firemare's reply, and she hasn't been in for the past week. I'm going to send her one last reminder before I send out another warning.

And I really, really need everyone to be checking in here regularly. I've said it before, ignorance is no excuse, and all the important things regarding the game are being said in here. There really, really isn't anything more I can do short of calling people up on the phone, and I can't do that. So people, please, check into this thread regularly or you will be missing important stuff, and you will be held responsible.

For the convenience of all players, I will be moving my second NPC from the library. To keep interest in the game, I will be moving things ahead plot-wise. It's a little ahead of schedule, but I think it's necessary at this point. I will be editing my game post to accommodate this.

Kierys I neglected to post in game because I was waiting for the others members of the RP to post. I have been chided in the past in other RPs for posting so soon after I had posted before, and was unsure about your reaction if I were to post right after Tyko. It is also why, though I have not posted in game, I have made an effort to check in on this forum daily, and to post here in OOC as often as I felt was prudent.

But since you have given me the go-ahead to post again, I will do so. I also hope to assume this means in future scenarios I can go ahead and post if I have the opportunity to do so.

Unless you are directly interacting with someone, then there's no need to wait for the others. The only thing is you can't do time jumps until I change the time, which I haven't yet. Everyone is working on a sort of "late afternoon" timeset right now. Information about weather and time of day, day of week, ect, are all on the front page of the game thread.

It's a rule. *Points at the front page* From now on, I would appreciate it if everyone followed my rules and not those of some other game they've been in, or just assuming. After all, that is why I even bothered writing them up. I'm on plenty often, so chances are, if you ask a question, it will get answered quickly. That's what this thread is for.

*Sighs* And still no word from Firemare. I would worry, but she did log in a couple of days ago, so I know she isn't bedridden at least. And while it's good that her health would appear to be in fine shape, it does bother me that I've sent her multiple messages with no response. I hope to hear from her before the end of the night, but I don't expect to.

A good point has been brought up, although it was already on my mind. Bippy, I'm going to let the gargoyle thing slide, but I would appreciate it if you would run any supernatural things past me before putting them in the game. Now, if your character simply believes she talks to a gargoyle, that would be fine. When/if you cross the line into making the gargoyle a reality, then you would need to speak with me, okay? Just bringing it up.

Also, I have no creative inspiration right now, but I will post my reply when I get home from work tomorrow at ten.

Kierys I was running on the idea that the gargoyle would be a little unclear, though as the days have passed I've been leaning towards her simply believing in the gargoyles sentience, rather than it actually being a real supernatural creature. I felt it added something small to her overall character, as of yet she hasn't talked to a single person.
