The Inn - OC Puzzle/Adventure Roleplay

There’s an old inn that sits outside the city. The cobbled stones that lead up to it speak of an older time, when the inn was full of life. Now, however, it is empty and cold. Only the occasional traveler takes refuge here, when the fog that surrounds the area becomes too thick to see through. When the fog lifts, the traveler sees that the inn is not in the same place that it was before. The forest becomes a desert. The desert becomes a lake. The lake becomes a snow-caped mountain.
The old inn has many powers and many more mysteries.

Come in and take refuge from the heavy fog.

Also, this will probably be a good place to talk about any puzzles you guys want to work through without posting all the trials and errors in the rp. Not that the puzzles are hard. Puzzle making is new to me!

Truly awesomeness is the best way to recruit people. Though to be honest I'm a little worried if a lot of people did come in. My puzzle making skills are not yet up to par!

Also, lawl, do I fail at chat threads or what? xD I think when The Inn is done I'm going to start an ACTUAL chat thread with all the silliness it entails. Probably a "chatroom" kinda one for poor Ling.

I am ecstatic about the possibility of more role playing with the two of you in the future~! It might be because I haven't had my medicine today but I am cackling IRL over the idea. :sweat: I'm having a LOT of fun with this game.

That being said.. uhm, anyone else with any abilities to figure out numbers? Eleanor can peer into the past through mirrors and the future with water but the future is unreliable and constantly changing and the past is.. dangerous. More reliable, but dangerous.

I'm with Scribbled on this one. Super excited at the prospect of future roleplaying.

Scribled: I think either would work. Past might be harder because we don't know how long it's been since that box was opened.

Meguzu: On an unrelated note, I think Mika needs to turn in his Man Card. Just saying.

I need to know a little about Eleanor's power so I can account for this properly. I hadn't actually figured any of the characters could see into the future/past besides Agatha and Agatha only sees people and places in very general terms. So.
Also it's not like Agatha was ever going to be giving the answer anyway. xD

Aw, poor Mika. In his defense he is around a lot of craziness, so he probably understands the consequences of what's going on a little better.

If all else fails, there's always the hammer and crowbar. XD

I AM TOTALLY EXCITED TOO. You guys seem like nice folks 8D I enjoy meeting nice, literate folks on the Internet. There's such a small swathe P:

Nolori : DON'T WORRY WE WILL BE EQUALLY EXCITED FOR BOTH. Besides, I would be kind of sad if you wasted the inn too. I enjoy Eldritch Abonimations too much.

When Ling types on the Internet as in a normal chat thread she's much more at home. Also I kind of enjoy imitating the happy anime-loving girls who use smilies like o3o and .__. which Ling totally is. She doesn't get to fit nearly enough otaku jokes into normal conversation.

Lore : I don't have anybody :\ Although I'm more concerned now with the fact that Agatha can't see the box. What the lol is that supposed to mean.

It probably says something about my mindset that I'm less concerned with the crying lady in the corner.

Clues by the door with the crying lady, perhaps? Asbjörn, get on that floor

Zombie : He never had one to begin with 8D But Lori is right on that score, he's got enough experience with Eldritch Abominations to know when something Looks Like Trouble. Not that it stops him from acting like a jerk.

Eleanor is a witch in the witchiness sense of the word. Her power is innate and derived from her life force. She can use other people's life forces to fuel spells but it must be given willingly or there are bad consequences. It is something she would never consider lightly.

That being said she has several different skill sets available to her. Questions from you would make it easier for me to describe what she can and cannot do.

@CZ: You assume I will let things go that easily. -EVIL LAUGHTER- Really, it's not something TOO crazy and difficult, I promise. If it helps anyone at all, I actually play a lot of point and click adventure games from companies like the Adventure Company. So if that helps anyone's mind set of puzzle solving here.

@Megu: Pft. Ling and ottaku jokes doesn't seem to mix in my head. Of course all I can think of is Teeth. So. Yeaaaaaah.

@Lore: In terms of her future/past seeing. Because I have a concept of something she could see, but I'm not sure it would make sense with her power. I suppose the question would best be phrased: When she does Seeing is it very, very specific or general?
Not that I can't just claim any weirdness on THE INN, but I'd like to not completly trample your canon. xD

Oh derp a derp Lore meant she didn't know what it was. Sorry. D= I guess I kind of assumed that everyone knew what they were. It might be nice if I considered not everyone has read what I read!

She Sees very specific times and places in the past; part of the risk is having to ask for something very specifically.

As a side note, Meguzu makes me think of myself when going through a period of mania.

I really wish I could make my hands create what I have in my head. Seriously, I have a terminal case of stupid fingers. T_T

I stand by my assessment of Mika. I'm more useful IRL than he is. I enjoy his antics, though. He is a true modern man. (Not sure if that's good or bad -_-)

I think Asbjorn and Tindy are going to have issues. Eleanor is too mellow to care about Tindy's attitude but .. damn. Attitude.

CZ : HE CAN BE USEFUL. Sort of. If you ever need anybody to MAKE A REALLY GREAT PHOTOCOPY HE IS RIGHT ON THAT. Also he makes good sandwiches and serves well as a grizzled-old-mentor figure if it's the kind of grizzled old mentor who does nothing but talk cryptically and then dies.

Edit for catching-up-with-the-thread: Lol Tindwyl. It's kind of a wonder nobody's shanked her yet, even in canon. At least she's sort of useful. If you enjoy...I don't know, exchanging witty repartee in multiple languages with The Man

Lore : Sometimes I think "maybe I should cut down on the caps lock, it looks kind of stupid." Then I think, "I pretty much say everything in caps lock in real life anyways." Far be it from me to deny the Internet the pure unadulterated pleasure of conversing with me in real life.

Although I am going to have to cut this short conversation even shorter because I'm going to go watch The Shining. Sooo yeah that's why I'm disappearing. Bee arr bee in two hours with +1 Classic Horror Movie Watching stat. I'm hoping to make level 6 before the end of summer vacation.

I'm with Scribbled on this one. I prefer full strength Meguzu. None of that diluted crap.
