Midnight Serenade: A Vampire Role Play OOC
 

Well... here's an OOC. Go nuts!

Lexicon of Terms:

-Vampire: A strange supernatural creature that feeds upon blood for sustenance. Far more powerful than any mortal human, granted eternal life, and many Powers at their disposal, so long as they keep themselves fed. A vampire burns in the sun, but finds it difficult to stay awake during the day, anyway. Additionally, fire is a severe weakness, causing damage that is much harder to recover from.

-Kindred: Another word for Vampire.

-Kine: Means "cattle". Another word for mortals.

-Vitae: The technical name for Vampire Blood.

-The Hunger: The Hunger is the one constant in any vampire's life and drives a good deal of the Kindred's thoughts. It is really a vampire's only need, and thus usurps most all other desires. If the Hunger is too great, a vampire may lose complete control and frenzy in a blood-thirsty rampage, forgoing their better senses to sate their hunger.

-Powers: Abilities granted by one's vampiric nature or gifted by vampire blood. Every vampire is born with a combination of three Powers, dictated by their own personality and inner being, and among those three, one is considered the Primary or Guiding Power, which dictates one's Boon.

-Boon: A Boon is a gift granted to the vampire by their Guiding Power. It goes above and beyond the normal confines of their power and gives the kindred that little extra.

-Curse: Every vampire is also stricken with a curse of some sort. For some it's a certain kind of dementia, for others, a disfigurement or odor, for some it's more subtle, such as not showing up in mirrors. And yet, every vampire has it and for each it is unique.

-Ghoul: Created by giving a mortal or animal a sip of vampiric blood without first draining their blood, ghouls most commonly serve as minions of their vampiric masters. Although not so powerful as Vampires, ghouls may use the ingested vitae to become preternaturally strong and resilient. They also gain access to Powers of their own.

-Blood Bond: One of the most wondrous and terrible properties of Kindred vitae is its ability to enslave nearly any being who drinks of it three times. Each sip of a particular Kindred's blood gives the Kindred in question a greater emotional hold over the drinker. If a being drinks three times, on three separate nights, from the same Kindred, she falls victim to a state known as the blood bond. A vampire who holds a blood bond over another being is said to be that victim's regnant, while the being subordinate to the bond is called the thrall.

Put simply, blood bond is one of the most potent emotional sensations known. A blood bound victim is absolutely devoted to her regnant and will do nearly anything for him. Even the most potent uses of Dominate cannot overcome the thrall's feelings for her regnant; only true love stands a chance against the bond, and even that is not a sure thing.

Addiional terms I think all players should be familiar with:

Canite: Yet another term for a vampire. This word derives from the idea that the most 'original' vampires were the cursed sons of Cain(e) from The Bible. Yes, the one who slew his brother Abel out of jealousy.

The 'Beast'/ Frenzy: Another term for The Hunger, though this variant term personifies it more of an entity with a will of its own. Though basicially the same thing, the hunger gnaws at a vampire, until the point where they temporarily go crazy and flip out, and which point their beast consumes them. This point may be referred to as a Frenzy), in which the vampire consumes very much while showing very little restraint (even their own mortal friends and family) and typically causes alot of reckless damage in the meanwhile. This is because the vampire is not fully, conscioiusly, in control of themselves during a Frenzy (which is temporary- usually until the vampire states their bloodlust/hunger or the raging vampire is put out of their misery via Final Death).

The Embrace/The Turning- This is how a human becomes a vampire. In lore this ranges wildly. In the Vampire: the Masquerade and Anne Rice universes, this is done by a vampire draining a human to the point of death and then feeding their 'mixed' blood back to the human. The 'human death' occurs fairly quickly leaving a new vampire very suddenly different. In different lore, such as that in Bram Stoker's Dracula, a Vampire would visit a victim night after night, taking more and more blood until they appear 'sick'. At that point the vampire fills the human with their own supernatural vitae and the turn happens more quickly. However, in this second school of thought, it is also possible for a vampire to embrace a human in one shot, but it will take a number of days for the full change to happen.

I have no idea! I guess just placement of people, who they are with and such.

It turns out I've forgotten to switch over more than once. I'm glad I mentioned both of my handles in my character application skeleton or I would have thoroughly confused everybody by now. I'll try to give you a summary if you give me a bit to get my bearings.

The childlike character of Sakura Rose departed from the company of Appolonia and Alessia (Japanese, daughter of a lawyer or 'servant' to most there) upon hearing they were to explore areas in which she was not allowed.

Appolonia and Alessia made it into a wine cellar, Appolonia went into a door that closed and locked behind her, Alessia is still on the outside.

Meanwhile Sakura Rose found her friend Merrick and they were joined by Ixie. He doesn't like crowds of people and stated he wished to go to the gardens, trying to get rid of them. Ixie allowed them to depart while Sakrua Rose followed him to the threshold of outside. In the garden, he managed to mysteriously fall... somewhere...

The loner boy Kataro wandered off on his own and found himself belowground with two other youth... very mysterious.

In the connecting hallway, Sakura Rose was accosted by the 'crazy, roachlike' (to her) Count (GM Character), who scared her, and she screamed, cried, and litterally ran straight into the Marques himself! All of this has happened in the hallway with no response from the Main Salon area.

The sister wasn't meant to be a large character. Just a part of her family. Lol. If you want to play her, go right ahead. But she isn't going to be part of the major plot. Mainly because I don't want to make a profile^^ She can easily be a NCP. But I didn't go into appearance/ or any other details for her^^ Hell I never even gave the girl name. Lol

If you guys want me to, I could make her an antagonist. Or a simple layout for us all to follow^^
