Ok. Tread here if you must
But speak not a word.
The trees have eyes
This be a sacred place for the one
Who started the Sin
And a Queen of Confectioneries
We have a story to write,
You do not belong.
(So basically, this is a roleplay planning thread for OriginalSin and Princess Cupcake, don't go talking in here if you're not us. We will be converting this thread as an OCC reference and chat area when we are satisfied with the planning we've done. I can't wait to get started!!)

There are fairies at the bottom of our garden!
They often have a dance on summer nights;
The butterflies and bees make a lovely little breeze,
And the rabbits stand about and hold the lights.
Did you know that they could sit upon the moonbeams
And pick a little star to make a fan,
And dance away up there in the middle of the air?
Well, they can.
~Fairies (Rose Fyleman, 1950's)
Fairies are mythical creatures that have been in every culture since stories and tales were created. The term 'fairy' comes from the Latin word for fate, though I prefer the Old French spelling of faerie and fey.
As stated before, every culture has their folklore and legends of the folk. The Japanese religion has their religion of Shinto, who's main belief is that nature is "alive and populated nature spirits and there is a tale in the Middle East about Prince Ahmed and how (when he finds himself in a strange land) makes magical occurrences in his life. The Native Americans have some very nice tales of the season's spirits. (Stories/reference found on here: Tales of Faerie World Wide)
And then there's Europe, where my favorite tales of the fae and material for working with (in these roleplays) lies. I specifically love the Irish legends, they have the best stories, playing into the Arthurian legends and Just the best stories. Definitely look at the Irish/Celtic Legends, if nothing else.
The Celtic legends talk about the two Courts, The Seelie and the Unseelie. It's a way to classify the fae into "good" and "bad" but even then, not all the Seelies are angels (they can do mischief) and not all the Unseelie are demonic (though they would rather harm a human than help it in the long run).
Books To Read*X
(*In your Spare Time. I've read all these & have learned much from them).
-Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception by Maggie Stiefvater
It's such an excellent book, and it talks about the Cold Iron. I loved it. :)
-Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr.
Talks about the Courts, specifically the Unseelie Court. :)
-Valiant, Ironside, & Tithe: Modern Faery Tales by Holly Black
The world of faerie is very descriptive in these books, and I love Never... Heehee, that would be fun to incorporate in.
-The Chronicles of Faerie by O.R. Melling
Talk about Ireland and it's faeries. Just fantastic.
And thus, the thread is made, and here we begin our tale.
Oh OriginalSin, is there a nickname I can call thee?? It's so long and hard on the tongue to call you by that long of a name. Besides, true names are powerful, and I wish naught to use it to your disadvantage...
Anywho, I has ideas, would you like to hear them now? (Sorry for the long wait!)
I have many a thought to lay on you, this may take awhile, lol.
So, for the pairing, I would really like to merge the Two Best Friends or the Girl and Her Childhood sweetheart plotlines with the Wizard/Witch x Human. Actually, I would LOVE to change it to a Wizard/Witch x Wizard/Witch, to make it a little bit fairer.
And also, what I think we could do, is we could have it so we can do a romance pairing with the idea above and my character could be the girl, then we could do another pairing of sorts and have you play the girl and I the male, so there's a balance and we could both play guys AND girls.
I (in my head) have been toying with the idea of having different characters portray (in a way) with the seasons or somehow be connected to them. For example, I have my main character in my head, and she's connected with the elements of spring. She's hopeful (because Spring brings hope) and optimistic. She's good with plants and dreams and things of such. She's quite naive and innocent, and those are traits I usually associate with spring time.
The character with Winter, would be a bit more morose and morbid (in my opinion), because they have no hope. Although spring could bring them that hope (and those two characters would be good together). Maybe not your hero, but could fall into that role if needed. IDK, I always image the Winter and instruments of the cold iron going together.
I'm not sure about anyone else at this point. I think our females should be sisters, and there be faeries in the story.
Faeries of all kinds. The fae and the little folk and the ones that live under the rocks in the garden and everything else that falls into the category of Faerie. I don't know what exactly that is for you, but I guess we could discuss that a bit further.

I didn't mind waiting dear, I'm glad you have a lot of ideas! It's pretty awesome!
To what you said about the Witch/Wizard x Witch/Wizard pair, I think that is a good idea. It would be more fair to the both of us, so I really like that idea! I also quite like the idea of linking that in with the other two, but which one? I think the childhood sweetheart one would be fun, but also, the two best friends one would be equally as cool. So, that needs some development ;)
Considering they will all be some kind of magical being, maybe you'r idea of them having some kind of a connection to the four seasons will work! Maybe, they could each have a different affinity to a season, or their powers could be linked in some way. For example, someone with a Winter affiliation could use their power to freeze people and control certain weather types and other things like that... If you know what I mean :D
However, I do also love the idea that their personality's would link to their affiliated season. It is a really good idea. Like, someone with Summer would be happy and friendly, warm and kind. Loving and fun to be with... I really like it. And, the girls could have the fun, warm ones; Summer and Spring. And the boys could have the more morose ones; Fall and Winter :)
Also, just to add in, I really like the thought of both doing two characters. That way, we can both play to our strength as well as being able to have a romantic relationship. If that is what we aim for, though, it does not have to be that way. It really does depend on how it all pans out :)
Clearly, I'm not the only with a lot to say and so little time...
Perhaps all four characters could be Witch/Wizard. Because then they would all have the elements, (to make it fair). Oh! I have an idea. We could have the Spring/Winter pair be Childhood friends/sweethearts/best friends, while the Spring/Autumn pair be at first a Witch x "Human" pair, until he discovers his own powers.
Like, he could be a newcomer to the land. ((Speaking of land, we should talk setting as well. I also have an idea for that, but that could be for later as well.))
I also think, with the summer, that there should be this strength, of sorts. Because some of the worst lightening storms happen where I live in the summer. So, having the power of electricity could be a part of summer. (Although I feel like the four characters should be able to learn each other's powers, though they be stronger in their natural powers, obviously). I like the girls having the more "positive" seasons and the boys the "negative". I guess that's confirmed then, neh?
I'm glad you like the thought of two characters. :) That's rather the purpose of it, in a way. It also makes the storyline MUCH more interesting. What do you think of the females being sisters?
And what do you think of the faeries? It would add the element of more fantasy, but with the fae, we could easily make dark points in the plot, with the courts of the seelie and the unseelie, and the seasonal courts... Do you know much about that?
What if we... oh I have some great ideas...
What if (walk with me here) they weren't exactly called Wizards and Witches. I think Enchantresses & Enchanter. It would go more with the fae theme (Personally) but they would still be witches and wizards, just at a different level because of the seasons element added in. (So then we can still call them witches and wizards in the role play.)
And I can go more into depth with all of this, especially the faeries part. ^_^ I'm so excited for this roleplay.
I very much like your first idea dear. I think that two of them being childhood sweethearts/best friends, and the other two being partially unaware of a power one possesses is an amazing idea! That way, we are incorporating one of my ideas with something new and different, plus it will be fun when the otehr finds out he/she has powers.
I also quite like the idea of them being able to learn one and others magic. This makes it more interesting as well as fair, just incase one has a power that the other wished she/he could do! This is a good idea! We shall keep it ;)
I would love to say that I know a lot about the Fae, and Faerie folk, but unfortunately I dont. However, I am keen to learn as it sounds like something you would be most interested in, so please... Explain them to me. I am keen to learn :)
Changing the name of them is an awesome idea! I think Witch and Wizard does sound a little tedious, but I couldnt think of anything else, so I just stuck to it. Enchanter and Enchantress sounds a lot more magical and sophisticated!
I also think we could go all out with the whole magical aspect! Like, not only are the people magic, but the place they live in and the land they inhabit is all magical too. And when the other character moves there, he/she has no idea. Therefor, he gets to learn about the magic and eventually find their own magical potential. You know what I mean though, right?
I like your ideas! So come on, keep em coming! And, please do go into more detail, especially with the Fae aspect!...
Oh! I do have some nicknames, I completely forgot to tell you. My apologies tenfold~ T_T Sometimes, I'm called Cupcake, because of my previous username, but you may call me whatever your fanciful heart desires.
And then, the actual training of the one without powers (I think, from what we've sketched out at this point, that would be Autumn)... That will definitely be a fun plot point for later in the story.
I'm glad you like the magic part. I think depending on which season it is, it should be harder. Like, looking in the case of Spring, it would be extremely difficult to to practice the season of Autumn's powers because that's when the life is taken away from the earth, and she is one to help everything grow.
I can do a whole long post on the faerie, and the different options we have on playing them. There's a lot that goes into them. Have you ever seen the movies Labyrinth (with David Bowie) or the Dark Crystal. They're both directed by Jim Henson & the portray (especially Labyrinth) the thing you need to know first: faeries (spelled like that) are NOT your Disney's Tinkerbell or Blue Fairy. There is so much to them, wait until you see...
I'm also so glad you like changing the name... Man, it's been awhile since so many ideas of mine were looked upon in approval.
I could definitely see the land also being magical, being able to draw their magic from the earth and the elements, as well as being able to do things with potions and such, and certain things having magical qualities.
In other words, I know exactly what you mean. :)

I know how you feel, I have been searching for someone who has the same kind of ideas and mind set as mine. I have been searching for someone who appreciates this as much as I do :) Plus, you are very friendly!
I have seen the Labrynth, but it was a very long time ago and I have trouble remembering what happened. I shall rent it on DVD or something and do some reseach into the Faerie folk. I believe it would be very interesting. Though, I must ask: If we do go with the idea of the Faerie, would be forget about the Enchantress and Enchanter idea? Because althought that was the original thought, I do not mind if we do, I am just confused!
Also, I see what you mean about certain powers being harder to learn by certain other elemental beings... Summer and Spring will learn eachother's quite easily, as will Winter and Autumn... However, it will be difficult for the opposite to learn the other's powers. I understand, and I think that is a great idea! It will add a little more excitement and fun to the plot; them learning one and others abilities.
Feel free to explain the idea of the Fae to me in more detail, as I am willing and open to different ideas and am looking forward to setting something in stone. As right now, everything we say can be changed... Though we have agreed on the magical aspect, if you are thinking of including the Fae, will it drown out the other ideas of the Witch and Wizard? Or will it be the same kind of idea, just with different creatures other than human?
I'm friendly? Me? Wow, that's nice for a change. Usually I'm the one being mean to people 'cause they're being stupid. This faerie doesn't like stupid people. Stupid people being stupid just get me pi- I mean really really upset.
Don't be too confused! I'm hear to save the day and explain my ideas to you!! I was thinking that we could have the Witches/Wizards "in" with the faeries and folk. Like... there would be the world with all these different types of the folk, and a village of humans live there because maybe they were exiled from another world or something along that line. Maybe like a safe haven- they're allowed to live there. So maybe the four would have some fae blood in them, allowing them to practice magic, though not as easily as the faeries themselves. Our enchanters and enchantresses have to work at their magic.
I hope that explains thing a bit more. I'm sorry for confusing you!! ^_^ Next time I will try to be a bit more in detail.
Me to! It really 'pi's me off too ;) Though, I think I find you so nice because I'm not stupid and I think the same way you do! :)
Okay, yeah. That makes a heck of a lot more sence to me now. I understand what you mean, and I like the idea!I like the fact that there are normal people living around the town too. Maybe the four could have to struggle to keep their power a seacret incase people object to them, but then one messes up and the discover that the whole land is magical.
Just spit balling here, so if you disagree with anything that I say feel free to say so :)
Yay!! We're brain twins, lol. (My sissy best friend has a brain twin, and I has one too now! Yay! (Fae is too easily pleased sometimes.)
Thank goodness you understand. I know sometimes half the stuff I spur out onto the internet make NO SENSE, so I'm so glad you get what I'm thinking. Harmonious thinking for the win~! <3
I like your idea. Another idea, what if not everyone was magical- just certain bloodlines or something like that. Like... maybe many generations ago the some faes mated with humans and even though the appearance qualities have disappeared for the most part, the magic still runs in the blood (even though they have to work for it now, like with rituals and spells and such). It's an evolved, practiced magic, compared to the faeries wild magic.
And maybe certain families refuse to cooperate with the four, (like their children not wanting to be around the four and stuff) because they're jealous 'cause they don't have magic? So that could create some... difficulties...
Yay! I've always wanted a brain twin! My best friend and I are very similar, but we dont think the same way all the time :P Dont worry about your easy ammusement! I am too ;)
I really like your bloodline idea! That way, we can incorporate the Fae and the humans and the magic and the Enchanters and all of it :) It is a really good idea to have the Fae like, ancient decendants of the magical beings, but I also like how you came up with the idea that the looks had worn away over the years.
I also really like the idea of having the spells and the potions and stuff!! Also, what you said about the children of the families not liking the four because they wish they could do the magical stuff is really good! Maybe, the four could end up being banished or something for performing magic in a public place, or maybe one of the other jelous kids could make up a lie to his/her parents about the four and get them in loads of trouble... That could create some conflict :)
I'm quite enjoying this... Making up ideas and a plotline before we do anything! This was, we arent just making it up on the spot and probably running out of things to say! :)
You like my bloodline idea? Thanks, I made it up on the spot, lol. Yeah, I really need to make a post about the faeries and stuff, because there's so much media and folklore on the folk, so we could very well be throwing our hands up and totally screwing up everything and make the whole plot-line go quickly downhill...
I like the second idea, the one about getting the four in trouble, that would be really nice to add conflict to the story. Conflict is good.
I'm enjoying this too, we work so well together. I love it!
Yay! I was just about to say that, about being on page two... You beat me to it :) See, brain twins!
Yeah, I would like to know more about the Faerie idea, though I pretty much understand it... Sort of... Anyway, you are right about there being a lot of different myths and stories as such, as I have tried to do some research so that I understand better and just keep running into random made up stories and Disney creations :)
Conflict is good, very good! Exciting and argumentative and all sorts! Awesome!
We do dont we, work well together that is... I love it toooooooo! (As you can tell, by the over exadurated 'o's ;) )
Oh, so I put some information up on the third post at the begining of the thread. It's not a lot, but it's what I gathered with an hour & a half of spare time last night. :)
I used to get so get caught up in the random stories & Disney crap. I mean, that's not bad, it's just not what's going to help us.
Yay for plotting, do you have any ideas for anything? At all? I don't want to have hear my own voice any longer lol~
I shall head over there and read your information after I write this post! No doubt I shall find it very interesting!
I do have some thoughts, though it is more of a conversation topic than an actual idea. I would like to ask, how would the two different couples; your male and my female and vi-ca versa, be connected.
So, would they be in relationships, or arranged marriages, or just married, or friends, or brother and sisters. I really don't mind either way, though, I just think we will be able to decipher a plot better if we know their connections better :)
Questions are always a good place to start, in my insane mind, I have may find an answer for you.
I think I might have said this earlier, but I was thinking that our Spring and summer Characters could be sisters, and their mother could own a herb/potion shoppe of some sorts. That was just an idea.
And then I was thinking Spring and Winter could be the childhood best friends that (Sooner or later, probably when we start, I'm going to pull the strings for my spring character to start feeling) fall into the sweethearts as well and fall in love.
I'm thinking Autumn could be the new comer to the land/realm, being kicked out of his own for his strong season powers. Maybe he could stay with Spring and Summer and eventually fall in love with Summer... Maybe he learns how to use some of his powers from her- OH!
Maybe he looses his memory and stuff, that's why he's also staying with them, so they can find a potion or something to cure it. :D :D :D Tell me what you think of that.
Connections definitely need to be well defined, so then we can play those connections out strongly.
Yes, yes and more yes! All of it. YES! I love the idea of Spring and Summer being sisters! It is a very good idea! I also like where your going with the whole; childhood sweetheart and learning my powers from you, thing that Autumn has going on!
I'm also feeling the memory loss idea, though how would he loose his memory. There has to be a reason, and maybe that is why he doesnt know he has magical powers and has to learn off Summer... You said that he could have been banished from his old land because of his strong season powers... But yet, we discussed before about the idea that he doesnt know he is magical. I think the memory loss is a perfect idea! Solves everything!!
I really think there needs to be something else, an extra twist maybe. Something that was not expected. I'm not sure what it is, but I can just feel it ;)
I think Autumn would loose his memory from the people in his land, maybe when they banished him, the gave him memory loss when sending him to our realm. It's a thought... Yay! :)
Oh! What if the King of the Seelie Court fell in love with Spring or Summer? I could add it into an idea I had for Spring, and I can always change it, I'll chattle it over to you. That's a ploty twist.
Oooft, I love the twist there! I think its pretty brilliant. Though, who would Autumn love? They couldn't be together if someone else loved her, or.. OR!
Maybe, there could be some kind of jealous fight or battle or argument or something! Maybe some heartbreak thrown in, because she could chose to be with Autumn before she even knows the King likes her, and then when she finds out, she could be all... OMG!
Ideas, ideas. You create such beautiful happenings inside my head! :)
Autumn would love her, you've caught on to my thinking, Miss Smart Stephanie. :)
Mhhhm, there you go, and then- what if the King had a brother or someone close to him who liked Spring? As revenge on Summer he could get some of the lower class faes who are in his court to kidnap her!!
And since the Summer and Spring's Mother is aligned with the Seelie... (Well I just assumed that but we can add a back story- OHH! We could make it so she's super close to the Seelie court, maybe she's part faerie already, or a changeling who fell in love with a mortal!! I should talk about changelings, that would make more sense...
Changelings are mortals who were taken by the faeries either at birth or as a small child, and they grow up in the faerie world. They develop strong powers (though not as a strong as the actually faeries), and sometimes they can return to their home. Maybe she was a child taken many many generations ago and grew up among the folk and then came back and fell in love with Spring & Summer's Father (who's line has a fairy blood in it) and yeah...)
So that could cause some trouble betwixt the courts and sooner or later maybe a war in the land... -evil grin-
