Well even then you wouldn't have the royal blood in you, you should be king's child for that. But this new idea of appointing the follower helps a lot, it also explains why the queen is in charge. I mean, one of the children could take the crown when she/he is 18, until then the queen would be ruling. Now she has the throne because the king had appointed her to be the ruler in his testament! Bwahahahahaa!

With the forethought of the King not really being able to choose his mate, as it's mostly politics, it would be easy enough to happen.

But the King took you in and has you raised the same as Meam's charrie, even if you can't rule?

I also think, perhaps, the King wouldn't have picked the Queen to rule, considering he would have known her very well.

Perhaps instead there exists royal laws about it, so no one could bribe the rulers, and so there would be no fights about it?

Hey, my character has been in the court for years! Of course they knew each others! :D I mean, the king even rushed to marry Rosalie right after his wife's death (mhh, gives me an idea. What if Rosalie and the king killed the queen together so that they could get married? But Rosalie backstabbed him!) And testaments aren't that hard for a queen to forge. :twisted:

But that law sounds good. It would also be possible that a prince or a princess can have the throne when she/he is 25 years old. What do you think?

Well, he'd have to have done something bad to be blackmailed XD

perhaps, he poisoned his older brother once, when he was younger, to get the throne. The current queen found out, and got evidence somehow, and blackmailed him.

The laws against killing someone to get the throne are very harsh. Lots of torture involved and public shame to avoid such things..
