Welcome! Welcome! You have been invited to join in this school due to the extraordinary talents you possess. Here at Asveryn Academy, we will teach you to harness you magic to its fullest extent. There is no cost of course, and we offer the same curriculum as your previous schools, with the exception of your magic classes that is. Upon arriving, you will be sorted into your Houses based on the nature of your abilities. These Houses compete monthly for points. The House with the most at the end of the year gets a trophy and several other rewards. Your House will be filled with others who share similar abilities to you, rendering it easy to make friends. History:
One thousand years ago, the world was almost overrun by hordes of demon-esque creatures from another realm, who came through a split in the dimensional boundaries. The weakest of these creatures was ten times stronger than a human, and almost immune to the iron weapons of the time. Forced to fall back, the humans watched as the demons conquered massive swathes of land, killing any who were left behind.
All seemed hopeless as the humans, a couple thousand strong, fell back to the largest castle of the day. Walling themselves in, the humans were captivated by six men who claimed they knew how to defeat the demons. Magic was the answer, they said. The demons were incapable of producing magic, therefore giving the humans the advantage. The six humans taught the others everything they knew of their discipline to any who could learn it. Each human was only able to learn one discipline, but every human could learn one.
The siege continued, and as it did, the humans continued to grow stronger. Several other races, Fae, Elves, Merfolk, etc. were involved as well, though the history of the humans has lost that, but they trained just as hard. When the demons finally broke through to the inside of the castle, they were obliterated by volley, after volley, after volley of magic. Eventually, the remaining demons broke rank and fled. Despite the best efforts by the various races, the demons remained hidden and repopulated, though the ones that remained weren't as evil as the ones that were killed.
Once the war was over, the races moved back to their regions, dropping back into sweet peace. The castle stood though, and was converted into a school in honor of the six mages. Upon their death beds, the mages delivered a necklace, a bracelet, a ring, an earring, a hairpin, an anklet, and a medallion to the school. Each article is housed in the house of the mage, except for the medallion, which was stolen shortly afterwards and lost to the sands of time.
As time passed, the story of the founding of the school has remained a principle part of the curriculum in all the Houses. The school accepts any who can learn a discipline of magic, and teaches them to control it and use it for good.
Rules:
The board's (Mene) authority is absolute.
The headmistress (me) makes the decisions in the school.
Dueling is permitted, but only under the supervision of a teacher.
Abstinence is a must!
There are no gods among you.
Lights out at 10:30 sharp.
Wordless magic is prohibited unless in class, or if you have a permit.
Spells are to be spoken in Latin.
Three strike policy.
No drug usage among the students.
Students are not to leave school grounds unless accompanied by a teacher. This includes the forest.
Racial discrimination will not be tolerated.
Light profanity is tolerated.
Boys and girls will be in their respective dorms by lights out.

All of the Houses set up headquarters in one of six towers stationed around the school. From top clockwise, it goes Pure, Fire, Air, Light, Earth, Water. Each tower consists of several levels. They hold the common rooms, the boys and girls dorms, on opposite sides of the tower, showers/bathrooms, and a tiny dojo for tutoring sessions.

The elders taught the young ones about how evil the demons were and how they gave no mercy to women or children. Hearing all of this, Hiroshi; just like the other elves began to hate the demons and swore that they would push them back. Soon enough, the elders told the young elves about the school that taught about the magical arts and how the demons were vulnerable to magic. Immediately making his way over toward the school to learn the magical arts; he swore to always hate and kill the demons. However, while he was being taught there; he had to learn to control his emotions for hatred; which he has done. Now, Hirsohi simply wants push the demons back. Although that didn't change his love for books and playing musical instruments. Especially the piano. The reason for his mind being more at peace rather than with full anger is since he was put into the house of holy wizardry which caused him to learn about healing and lightning; so he now has to learn not to be consumed by anger. Bio: Their mother (who was human) died giving birth to them. Their elf father killed himself from grief soon after, leaving his father-in-law to attempt to bring the twins up. Their grandfather never had much time for the children who (in his opinion) murdered his precious daughter, so they had a succession of nannies and tutors. As the oldest Tryst protected his brother from them, sometimes taking Xavier's punishments himself. They never had a true childhood, instead apending nearly all their time studying or slaving away for their grandfather cleaning his big, old house. When they received the letter from the scholl, all three were releaved. For the twins, it was a chance to get away from their horrible life. For the old man, a chance to get rid of his grandchildren.
Appearance: Tall and skinny for his age, with short spikey black hair and white eyes. Slightly pointed ears but not enough to normally be remarked upon. Also canines are longer than normal. Apart from eye and hair colour the twins are indistinguishable from each other.

Character Name: Isaiah Judah Valentine Nickname: Isa, Jude Age: 14 Gender: Male House: Water Year: 1 Race: Demon/Human Personality: Despite being a genius, Isa is very down to earth, able to make friends with complete strangers. He's also pretty popular, and charismatic. He possesses a confidence that exudes to everything he does, whether it's helping an old lady across the street, or taking a major test. Isa's also extremely laidback. He laughs at Jewish jokes for cryin' out loud. Bio: Isa grew up in Israel, constantly under threat of Muslim attacks. It was at a young age he was recognized as a genius, with an IQ of 178. He also discovered his magic at a young age, able to make water appear in the desert, and even more miraculously, ice.
He graduated from regular college at the age of ten, and decided to help out the soldiers by supplying water. And screwing with the Muslims. Imagine their faces when they see a solid wall of ice spring up from the harsh desert sands. Priceless! Not to mention he was an amazing strategist.

Character Name: Quay Helix Nickname: Quay Age: 14 Gender: Female House: Pure Year: 1 Race: Grey Elf Personality: Quay loves to move and interact with people, but mostly move. Running, swinging... Anything that pushes wind against her face makes her happy. Though, if she were to have a special skill, it would be being absolutely still... and stealth movement. In fact, because of her intensive training, she sometimes slips into stealth mode without thinking about it, much to her own annoyance as it often leads to problems for herself. While she always means well, she can occasionally come off as a bit rude, especially since she's terrible at keeping eye contact(her eyes naturally wander around her environment). Bio: Grey Elves, are an almost unknown subspecies of Elves, though, they look very similar to Forest Elves. If they were well known, it would be for their strong, elemental magics. So it was unusual when Quay, second child of the Grey Elf Queen, showed no affinity for any of the elemental magics. While being royalty meant very little, for Grey Elves, in the current day and age, they did enjoy certain privileges and were expected to be particularly skillful in elemental magics, which again, Quay was not. She did, however, excel at stealth. By age 10, she had completed the majority of her ninja training and was already a formidable foe. Oddly enough, her sense to pain is diminished, requiring her to be checked over every night and morning to make sure she hasn't suffered an injury. Hugs don't fly with her either. The sensation literally causes her to tear up. Another major cause for her harassment is speech. She often talks with a lisp, as well as in the wrong person, referring to herself as you or she occasionally.
Since she was diagnosed, she has gotten some help. For instance, lollipops are always found in her pockets so that she has something to suck on when she feels the urge to mouth or lick something. Likewise, she has a small rubber needle ball that she carries with her in case she needs to rub something. Unfortunately, her speech issues never resolved, so she still has issues communicating. She also has a stuffed bat plushie that she carries with her everywhere. If it's gone from her hand and sight for more than a few minutes, she ends up throwing a huge fit.
When she got the letter from the school offering a full scholarship, the caretakers jumped on it, hoping that it might help Dani with her condition. It took them several months of going to the airport every morning for Dani to become comfortable with it, though they felt it was worth it to see Dani grow up into a successful woman. Her Light magic rid her of the vampiric weakness to sunlight and holy water, though it intensified her weakness to garlic and crosses. When the six of them began training their pupils, it wasn't sure but if it was just a coincidence that Hikako had ended up summoning a phoenix out of nowhere in his training. Fighting back against it and ending up having it become one with him; Hikako realized this could help his ability to use fire much more easier since the phoenix was a bird made of pure flames basically. When the day finally came for the Sages and their pupils to fight back against the demons; Hikako was completely ready for the fight as they pushed back many of the demons. Appearance: Not very tall, about 5.5 feet. Pale skin with a faint silvery sheen to it. Long (thigh length) white-blonde hair with natural pale gold streaks. Her eyes are tri-coloured, a ring of pale grey and light blue flecks surrounded by a ring of silver, then a ring of dark grey. She has long grey feathered wings as long as she is tall, that look delicate but are really very strong and could pack quite a wallop if you got hit by one. Only wears one earring in the shape of a dangling serpant dragon. Tends to go barefoot.

The only thing that got her respect in the rough world of the Harpies was the fact that she was born into a high status.
The demons affected everyone, human, fairy, elf, and even harpy. Back in the old days, during the war, very few harpy clans made an appearance. However, the Stormweaver clan did, and many of the other species with deeper histories in the war remember the Stormweavers as comrades.
When Lucinda's mother perished 8 years ago, the young Harpy was looked to as the new leader of the clan. But, Lucinda knew she wasn't ready. She was always the weakest, and clinged to her mother for support, and with her mother gone she had no hope of being an effective leader.

Fire:
Fire is a magic fueled with passion. The stronger the emotions of the user, the more vehement their flames, shown by a change in color. Red is the most common, but also the weakest. White Fire is the most powerful, but precious few are able to generate that kind of Fire. While capable of much destruction, fire is also a creator; a life-giver. Various trees need fire to produce seeds. Volcanic ash is a tremendous fertilizer. Fire also provides warmth and light, helping various creatures to stay alive. Offensive describes Fire, having very few abilities that can be used for defense. The subdivisions to Fire are: Lava and Explosions.
Earth:
Earth is a sturdy magic. Unmovable in its defense, Earth is the bedrock of the universe and life. Without it, there would be no planets, and therefore no life. Mud bricks and stone were used for building in the recent past. Bronze, iron, and eventually steel were used in the making of weapons and shields since metallurgy was discovered. Gold, silver, and precious gems are sought after by thousands due to their beauty. Of the six disciplines, Earth is most useful for defense, though masters have been known to use their magic to create a variety of weapons with which to destroy their foes. The subdivisions to Earth are: Metal and Plantlife.
Water:
Water is laidback, making relaxation and calm thoughts a must for skillful manipulation of the element. Water incorporates techniques that use the opponents energy against them, avoiding devastating blows while returning them back to the attacker. The life-giving element, very few creatures can survive without water in liquid form. It hydrates, cools, and provides a breathing supply to gilled creatures. When the planet gets to warm, water from the ice caps cools it down, saving much life from the heat. Versatile in every way, Water can be used for defense and offense equally. The subdivisions to Water are: Ice and Telepathy/Scrying.
Air:
Air is an energetic, yet free, spirit. Air is constantly moving, constantly pressing. It lets every landborne creature breathe, replenishing their body and ridding it of toxins. The weight of the air above us could crush us like insects, yet the air also pushes up on us, neutralizing the effect. Yet, Air destroys. Winds rip and destroy buildings, and turn ordinary objects into deadly missiles. They spread storms around, causing them to cover a larger area. Lightning is formed by clouds rubbing against each other as they are shoved around by Air. Of the six disciplines, Air is the most evasive; hardest to pin down out of all of them. The subdivisions of Air are: Sound and Animal communication.
Holy:
Light is the divine magic. It is used to devastating effects against creatures of the dark, yet feeds plants and phytoplankton, which give us oxygen. No good soul has much to fear from a mage of Light, though it doesn't make you immune. The only people who Light cannot touch are completely perfect. Due to the nature and speed of their element, Light magi are never without a source for using spells. The speed of Light also makes it almost impossible to dodge, though it's not hard with training. The holy nature of Light magic also means that it cannot be used to kill anyone with a trace of good in their hearts. Even demons are immune if they hold onto a scrap of morality. Like the others, Light has two subdivisions. They are: Lightning and Healing.
Pure:
Of the six magicks, Pure magic requires the least finesse, but the most strength. As a result, it is the most common magic found among magi. Pure magic can be found everywhere, though there are few ways to manipulate it. The most common way is to generate blasts of Pure magic. Unlike the elemental magicks, it isn't manipulated in the traditional sense. Instead, Pure magi use it to summon massive and powerful creatures, such as golems. It can also be used to summon familiars, so long as the prerequisite bond as been created. Transmutation is also possible through Pure magic. As such, Pure magi can turn an Earth, Water, or Air attack into something entirely different, rendering it useless. The subdivisions of Pure magic are: Summoning and Alchemy.

Oh! If you need something changed about your profile, heck, if you want to redo it, now's the time to ask. I'll do it, but after you make a few posts it becomes rather hard to change major parts. :)
