I know at least some deaf people can speak, presumably through much trial and error of someone telling them when they have a sound right...
I know there are some, I just thought it was always because they learned the basics before they had full hearing loss but i have no idea. You could be completely right. It'd be something I'd have to research to give a definitive answer on it so it's really up to you.
Kage did a bit, and it turns out that deaf people usually aren't truly and completely deaf. They just can't hear enough to make sense of it, or tell what direction what they do hear comes from.
Is there a certain order we post in? Or...would it be okay if I put my first post up... if it's unsatisfactory, I swear I'll get better!
You can just go ahead and post, we rarely do post orders.
Night everyone!!!
Night, Pap! <3
Night, Miss Strawberry Papillon!
*sigh* time to actually decide on what to write... |
@cameo: Night ! *hugs*
@kage: posted XD. she seems like such a little kid right now Xd. |
Heheh, I saw. She's cute ^^ also, Kol, has olive skin too, it's just a paler version of hers.
I think we need to more clearly define how much their senses are inhibited. As Kina mentioned, deaf people can usually still hear to some extent and I think knowing such details is important. I think the only one that has a fuzzy definition is Karlin's loss of touch, though, and we should wait for Pap-chan for that. |
ahh well they're still different enough that I think it stands so I'ma leave it at this point.
as far as that goes... their main sense loss should be completely gone because it's that the part of their brain does not process the sense... at all. all that brain power is instead used for their power. ^.^'' Physically there's nothing wrong with them, the brain just doesn't relay ANYTHING from that sense. At least that's how it was originally suppose to work. |
So, then Jo's halting speech is the product of a mother who spent hours teaching her what sounds to make for what letter.....
sure. i mean their brains ultimately work different then a normal human brain so whose to say how they'd learn anything? Maybe they could learn that way *shrugs* as i said, that parts up to you.
Ah, alright, but I'm a tab confused on Karlin's still, because to have complete loss means she would have no working nerves. Which means she wouldn't be able to move ^^' So, would hers be just that her brain lost just the level of nerve function that gives her physical sensation?
yes, it's just the part of you that processes the sensory information/allows you to experience any type of sensory perception that is dead. In every other way it works fine. For example the blind's eyes still blink when their dry and so on.
Ah, alright. I finally got my post up, and it's actually decent ^^ I may be able to post on the other RPs tomorrow.
Night everyone!!
