I just got a few more bead strands to work with, to make more gemstone trees. I only have three of them at the moment, so I need to get working on those. Oh, I may not be on quite so much, I've also been on a crafting kick in response to the fair coming up. |

A wire tree with gem chips on the ends. Very colorful. And fun to make.

What gauge wire do you use? And how do you secure the base?

Very thin wire, I'm not sure the gauge. It's salvaged from some wiring someone thought I could use. And I glue the 'roots' to a larger rock, so that all the ends are on the bottom, then I put felt over that.

We have pictures of my first three, I just have to get them up on dA. Have a separate profile for the crafts and such, because Kage helps me with a lot of the planning and stuff.

Yeah, the better designs are usually his. I try to mix colors that don't go well together too often.

Um, like pink and turquoise... the wrong shade of both. And my designs tend to not be streamlined. They're kinda hodge-podge. But I'm learning!

Like all too bright shades? How do you design the stuff anyway? I usually just choose the beads I want, and go with the flow. Then again, it's usually just one strand because I don't have the right findings to make multi-stranded necklaces.

Yeah, it was too bright. And I sew beads onto ribbons for necklaces, so I try to plan out what I want where, first.
