Whole or 2% milk is usually the base for homemade ice cream, and then you add sugar and flavoring.

Extracts are the norm, or cocoa powder for chocolate. Maybe sliced frozen fruit if you want, too. Looking up a recipe would be easier.

Sorry, the hotel staff are persistent... three of them have stopped by to tell me the breakfast downstairs is being served despite the "do not disturb" sign on my door. *shakes head*
*waves your hand away* No pulling on my hair, ne? I get enough of that with Ky. And, it does really depend on what flavour you want. I like using coconut milk and mango, though raspberries make a wonderful sweet ice cream. Also, using cream with the milk makes for a richer, smoother ice cream, and do not forget a pinch of salt to bring out flavour and help keep it from getting to solid. Kina: *raises brow* Painting bandages counts as a major incident? And, I cannot wait to see what you make with the metals, then. |

Hmm. *tries to tickle instead* Well , that's not something you've mentioned before ... Anyway, so it's basically milk in the process of freezing with other stuff added in? I think blueberry ice cream would be really good. Frozen blueberries in milk is delicious, so I'm guessing it'd work. |
Hai, hai... I guess I am just a bit irritable at the moment- it was difficult to sleep on the train.
*smiles a bit and tickles you in return* What have I not mentioned? Ky playing with and tugging on my hair? I could have sworn I have.... anyway, blueberry ice cream is delicious, though you cannot just toss them into the mix like Kina said. You have to make an ice cream base by making a flavoured juice or syrup that is blended with the cream. Basically, you cook the berries with some sugar and a bit of water until the berries cook down, then you cool it and strain it to get the seeds out. Mix that with the cream/milk, then freeze and tumble. |

Well, it should be frozen through, the ice crystals are just kept small by the constant agitation.

It was not very restful or relaxing sleep, part of why I did not like it. *sighs* I should probably rest now before I have to deal with the plane tomorrow... I am quite sore and agitated, customs and baggage check took much more time and hassle than it should of. *sighs* Just two and a half more days and I'll be home.
*ignores your tickling and focuses on getting your sides* Ah, normally it does not, but as I said, I am stressed and tired right now. Hai, it really isn't that hard to make ice cream, it just takes practice to get ratios and timing right. Kina: I had forgotten to tell you before, but my flight has been changed. There is a large winter storm off the northern part of the eastern seaboard, so I am going to Atlanta, then up to Chicago, rather than flying over New England. The flight won't be too much longer, just a few hours, but I figured you should know. |
