The gangs could be selling spices and sugar more than actual drugs. Maybe even alcohol. I'd think syntetic drugs would be easy to make, so there wouldn't be much of a market for them...

I'd say that, to get the peoples' cooperation and dependency more than sugar and spice, they'd have a market just as big for said drugs. Or they'd process them into the spices, too. Ice would be rare unless they lived in a changing landscape that snows quite a bit during winter and late autumn, unless the events before the apocalypse that put everything in their place now covered the sky and keeps the environment insulated and at a constant variation...

I'd think so. They would rely on imports from other states and cities, no doubt about that.

I'd think privileged would not only be the gang members' families, but also those individuals and their families that are in the good graces of the gangs themselves, and are loyal to one side or the other, specifically. Those that are static or neutral are considered scroungers, and there are plenty of those.
Hm... Sugar and spices would definitely keep money coming to the gangs. It'd keep the people looking to them, but the drugs would keep them entirely dependent even during shortages of sugar and spice. Perhaps medicines too?

That's what writing is for. To live vicariously in a safe environment. I'm not well suited for the real world though, so maybe I would rather live in a story though...

Well hm. Since there will be a lot of characters, would it be better to do profiles? I don't care either way, but it might help keep things straight. I don't use a skeleton though. Just whatever info you want to share or think you need to is my rule. Doesn't have to the same for every character since sometimes important information is very different.

I have a word document full of profiles and there's a skeleton to that, but I usually fill it in later and I don't share half of it at the start of an rp even if I do know it. I'm coy like that.
